Kimpton BANNEKER HOTEL

1315 16th Street NW, Washington, DC 20036, États-Unis Accès

Kimpton BANNEKER HOTEL

OUVERT.

Minutes from downtown Washington DC is dynamic Dupont Circle - a vibrant community that is defined by both trends and tradition.

The independent spirit of Dupont Circle is the neighborhoods biggest attraction. Progressive thinkers - politicians - professionals and artists coexist in this unique and exhilarating area where reinvention adds to the history of a place that has been on the move for 150 years.

Green Key Eco-Rating Program 4

The style of each room is very beautiful with a 50's vibe with modern flare. The rooms are large and spacious with huge bed. The bathroom are on the small side but I didn't have a problem with it. They provide great service. They try to give you everything you need. A short walk away are a few high end bars and some homey dive bar as well.

Pleasantly surprised... My room was spacious and inviting. The staff was warm and friendly. The neighborhood is trendy. Close by restaurants and shops. No complaints.

Great location, budget accommodations.

Only a 20 min walk south to the White House and National Mall. There is a main route bus stop just two short blocks north and a subway station about 15 min east.

The hotel itself is decorated in night club fashion. My main concern was the infrastructure must need updating as water temperature was extremely random throughout my stay. I'd only recommend as a short, non-business trip.

This is an amazing Hotel. I am always astonished when I go here, and how amazing the rooms are. It's very modern, yet still somewhat dark. The price is considerable, but it is also quite luxurious. There is however absolutely no parking. But that is DC. You have been warned

The location is good, but the decor is quite dated. Depending on what you're looking for, you could describe the hotel as having character or as just old. One definite plus is that the rooms are fairly spacious.

Actually a great hotel. The rooms are fairly large. A nice, though small bar. I found the staff to be friendly. The free wine every early evening is awesome. You come in from a long day at a conference and someone is standing at the door to greet you with a glass of wine. The in room wet bars are very well stocked. Everything you could imagine from wines, spirits, snacks to razors and energy drinks. There was lots of red everywhere but that didn't bother me. Just made it feel like a boutique hotel experience, which it is.

The decor may be dated but it's still nice. Very clean for a hotel that allows pets. The bathrooms are small but enough to take care of your basic needs. Location is convenient and the staff is friendly.

The hotel and room were over all nice. Great bed, nice sized room. My problem was with the staff. Everything was great for my stay until my last day. Ate breakfast in the bar rouge. Went to use conserve cards that I had saved up and was told I could only use one. Waiter said he would take it that one time. Get home and there is a charge on my room for the whole breakfast. Then use their complimentary car service. Get into the taxi they got for me get to my location and was told I have to pay. Call the hotel up and was told they don’t do it on the weekends. Right on their website it says weekends 8-10. I used the program at 9 am on Saturday. This honestly would be a great hotel in a great location if the staff did what they said they would do and follow what they have on their website.

Save yourself the headache and stay somewhere else. I was very disappointed in and upset with the valet parking here. Do not trust them with your vehicle. When parking my car, the attendant decided he'd have a little fun, and started revving my engine loudly multiple times. His buddy - another employee of the hotel - decided to come over and check it out as well. They both seemed to exchange some banter about how lucky they were to be able to lay their hands on such a car. Little did they know I was watching, as I could see them from my hotel window. When I approached the front desk about it and asked for my keys (to prevent further misuse), the best response he could give me was to demand that I don't attempt to pull the car out of the garage myself. I would think an apology would be much more fitting in that situation.

Comfy and clean rooms. Great service. The “garlic” fries (supposed to be garlic/parsley/Parmesan) did not taste garlicy at all- they tasted as if they had been fried with the same oil used to fry chicken. I don’t like chicken so found them quite unappetizing. I was expecting better considering the quality of the hotel.

I enjoyed my stay here. The bed was very comfortable and the check in was smooth and flawless. Room was big. Much better experience here than I had at the George. There is also a Whole Foods a block away for water and snacks and DuPont station on the red line is about 10 min walk.

This is a lovely hotel with a rouge theme. Red everywhere. We had a huge room with a comfortable bed. Free WiFi (but we had problems getting onto it). Free white or red wine between 5.00 and 6.00 p.m. The staff were excellent. Bit of a walk to the monuments and museums in Washington but otherwise a nice location. Would stay there again.

This hotel should not be ranked as "Four Stars". You are paying Four-star prices for a Three-star hotel. First of all, the water pressure in the building is terrible so when you take a shower it is as though you're bathing in a water fountain down at the local YMCA. Additionally, the connectivity and size of the television in the room was not to standard. Someone at the front desk gave our room, while we were in it, to another guest, who tried to open our door multiple times before I answered. The amenities were a joke; the bar closes at 10 P.M., room service stops at 10:30 P.M., and there isn't a pool. Other than that, it was simply just an okay place to stay. Three stars, at best.

This hotel didn't fit in with my perception of "Downtown DC" hotels, but that is not necessarily a bad thing. On the way to the Rouge, I passed the W, and St Regis. Down the street is the embassy of Kazakhstan. Rouge however is quite unassuming. Through an unobvious front door into a small lobby with a small front desk in the corner, I went to my room. The name is the clue - there was loud red everywhere! But despite all that was unexpected, the room was nice, service was prompt, and given it's location, the price was great.

Stayed here for my partner's birthday. It was altogether a wonderful experience. Huge room. Friendly and helpful staff members. Quirky animal print robes. Perfectly located near Dupont Circle.
My one note would be breakfast. I had the opportunity to book breakfast for a buck, and I am happy I did because I would not have paid full price for that breakfast. It was cereal, coffee, and yogurt. Definitely not worth $14.99. Once again, ABSOLUTELY AMAZING overall experience with this hotel, just an opportunity for improvement would be offering either a more expansive breakfast or lowering the price.
Thank you for a fabulous stay! I would definitely recommend.

Kimpton rouge hotel allows pets. The room was very clean and neutral smelling. A uber to the national mall is around 9$ off peak hours and a taxi is 10.00 anytime The bed is comfortable and the blanket combination is very nice.
The staff is really nice always greeted me in or out, Most even spoke to my dogs before me and took time to pet them. The window has a narrow ledge large enough for a pillow and my dogs to people watch when they wanted. Wifi is fast and streams a movie just fine. Stairs are clean and brightly lit. I am so glad we booked here with our dogs truck and lady. There is a huge mirror in the room covering a mechanical room entrance which I thought was pretty smart. Come enjoy and relax.

This hotel is gorgeous and fun. Acommodations and amenities were great. Great spot to grab drinks or spend a night relaxing and enjoying the scenery. I was there for a photoshoot and it was perfect. The only downside was due to it's proximity to the White House there was a protest going on when I arrived. But it was over quickly and didn't ruin my night.

Overall, the hotel is pretty substandard compared to the prices it charges. There was nothing wrong with my stay per se, but despite being almost $400 a night I felt like I was staying at a much cheaper chain hotel. That being said, the staff and customer service at the hotel was fantastic and there were some nice amenities. At that price though, there are much better options.

We LOVED this place. The service was awesome! The rooms were reallg clean. We brought our puppy with us and while we were at dinner they called and asked us if we were okay if they checked on him bc he was barking. They didn't demand that we immediately leave dinner and come back and that meant the world to us. It is stressful enough traveling with a puppy.

This hotel had no listing that there was no available parking, we were forced to pay 53 dollars for valet parking which to me was an insanely high price. There was no complimentary breakfast and in order to eat we would have had to order overpriced food with an 8 dollar "delivery fee" and 20% gratuity added to the bill. The rooms were semi-unique but it was just a cheap hotel that had red items added to it. I would highly recommend going somewhere cheaper that has more amenities for the average customer.

It is nice and to people here are very friendly!!!! However, parking is $46 a day and I found a roach in my bathroom this morning and trust me.... It most defiantly isn't a resident of mine!! My bedding had a lot of small stains which i guess i should expect from a white bed spread. Also the continental breakfast didn't much of a selection. The Kingpin Rouge is a smaller, older hotel that was not quite completely remodeled at some point, and the 98% that was done is really nice. You find things like the door frames of the bathrooms are old wood that's been painted a million times. The showers are old school white tile. The rooms are super trendy and clean. The bar is pretty hip too. The service is excellent. Only things that were a problem was the extra $20 fee that got tacked on per night. Just add it to the cost of the room so I know up front. Also parking was expensive.

We stayed here for two days. Checking in and out was so easy and the staff was cordial. The place is just on the side of Australian embassy and is easily accessible. There are good hangout areas just near to the hotel(walkable) and there are lots of places to dine or do clubbing. Room was spacious and was comfortable , just like how it looked on the website. Overall it was a good choice made. This is located near the DuPont circle and that was the best thing.

10

The room is furnished nicely, the bed is comfortable, and the linens are nicer than many of the other hotels around this price. Daily wine events are a pleasant addition to any vacation or work trip after a long day, and the food at the bar is good if you don't want to go back out.

The only thing I could find wrong would be a somewhat small bathroom, but that is made up for with designer soaps and shampoos on pumps in the shower itself. Upon arrival, less than 2 minutes after I pulled up and unloaded my vehicle in front of the hotel, the DC police came and ticketed the car in the loading zone that is labeled 15 minutes. The valet was on his way to move the car as they placed the ticket, but the hotel took it at the front desk and took care of it rather than sticking a guest with a ticket for unloading their bags and checking in.

Their guest service is very good.

I really like Hotel Rouge. The Design is funky and a bit retro with a modern flair. Stay away, if you don't like the color red. The location is great. You can walk to the White House, have several Metro stops within a 5-12 minute walk (5 min to Red line and 10-12 to Blue/Orange/Silver line). The rooms are large (bathrooms are small though) and have a funky theme. They offer a lot of perks, like free bikes, pet friendly, free yoga mat in every room, daily wine hour, etc.

If you come with a car, book directly through the hotel website and opt for the $ 1 Parking upgrade or otherwise you have to pay $45+tax/night (parking is very expensive in DC, so this isn't overly high).

Great price/value for Washington DC. You get a nice hotel in an amazing location for a decent price.

I'm a Kimpton fan, but Hotel Rouge was a disappointment. First the good: The location is terrific. The complimentary wine bar, morning coffee and newspapers are very nice! The staff is very attentive. Our Executive King room was spacious, but the closet and bath area was VERY small. The room temperature was tough to control. The AC was loud and blocked by a curtain. The bath had no fan for humidity control. The elevators were very slow and the hallways very dark and dank. Housekeeping was slow and the restaurant/bar seemed disorganized. The breakfast buffet was overpriced. I suggest adding the breakfast buffet to the complimentary items or drop the price for guests who just grab a banana or bagel.

The hotel is a charming full service hotel well situated on 16th Street and O. The rooms are incredibly spacious. The staff is very attentive to their guests needs. There is a free wine hour every night at 5:00. There is also a charming restaurant where you can get an inexpensive hot breakfast. For a small fee you can extend your check out time, in case your connecting travel plans are later in the day. I would strongly recommend the Hotel Rouge to anyone.
