Was only here for the buffet but the experience was fantastic. Food was excellent and the venue provided a perfect location for taking photos on the day. Would definitely recommend anyone to this place.

Another great stay overall for our family at The Grove. The Orangery area for kids had really improved from our previous visit in 2019. Better games, better organization and better trained staff who were really interacting with the children, whilst giving them freedom to play. Nice treatments for Mum and dad, and our 7 y/o really enjoyed the golf camp and Junior Jungle!. And the all day acees to the kids pool is a total winner! I have to say we did not enjoy The Glasshouse buffet thing for lunch and dinner. This seemed to us to be flawed concept, and was extremely pricey for what it is - and incidentally, the pricing was never explained to our group, so we were just presented with a massive bill at the end of each meal. We never went back after first day, preferring to dine at The Stables (another improvement since 2019) and also at PRIME (local place outside the hotel). Both were much better value. However, all in all The Grove is still 5 stars for a quality family break.

A phenomenal experience from start to finish. Exceptional staff, a beautiful setting and fantastic treatments. The entire spa is tranquil and serene, with brilliant features including a hydrotherapy pool. Delicious lunch. Not cheap, but overall still very good value for money. Will definitely visit again.

Beautiful hotel and grounds with great spa facilities. Walled garden is a highlight in the summer for outdoor swimming.

Make sure to have tea at the mansion rooms, which are exclusively for hotel guests. The service was fantastic here.

Only issue in the whole stay was the breakfast service. On 2 mornings we had issues with our table being given to another family while we were at the buffet, or with our table being forgotten and unable to order.

OMG. I went to The Grove for High Tea. The grounds are amazingly beautiful. The service was exemplary. Couldn't fault any of our afternoon. What a lovely place to go. Only down side is the price. £37.50 each is quite a lot. Would I go back, if I had the money to spare, hell yes.

Lovely weekend at the beautiful Grove filled with a mix of leisure activities for the kids including swimming pool, tennis, bike ride, music trail in the woods and exquisite buffet spread in the Glasshouse. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Top notch experience! The art in the hotel and flower arrangements are pretty amazing and very inspiring, too. The best 5 star experience we have ever had.

A great day out at The Grove. Ate (too much) at The Glasshouse then played 18 with my colleague. The perfect day in many regards. Sun and Golf plus decent course. The officials and staff are all very friendly. The greens and fairways were in good condition despite the hot weather. Always love the pyramid of balls on the practice range. Will be back again.

Lunch at the Glass House.
It was amazing. Lots of choice and all the food is of superior quality and tastes great. The staff are very attentive and nothing is too much trouble. Dress code is smart/casual there was people there in t-shirt and shorts and others in nice dresses and suits so it really is a mixture. It is deffinatley worth the money and we will be back again. A great experience for our wedding anniversary.
Tip: You don't have to rush off after your meal, have a cocktail or 2 in the garden and take a walk around the grounds it's beautiful.

What a great place to enjoy a superb round of golf and to enjoy your company golf day. From the moment you arrive - valet parking - fantastic practice facilities - sat nav buggies- in round refreshments and finally when you arrive back the caddy cleans your clubs!! You can then enjoy the wonderful place The Grove. Great food and drink. Simply just a great place to go :-)

Great setting although it is just off the M25. Very well appointed hotel and resort. Not a big fan of the black tiled indoor pool, very difficult to do any serious swimming because you can't see the end of the pool. Loved the walled garden with an outdoor pool and sandy beach. The food was plentiful and excellent I will look forward a return trip when I get the chance.

It's been a long time favourite of mine, but I've noticed that I'm not so enamoured with the food (Glasshouse) and the service has slipped... Tonight, my friend and I had a snack by the pond outside - £10 for a tomato soup which tasted like Heinz and £15 for avocado on one slice of toast with poached eggs & smoked salmon... The avocado was seriously unripe and when I mentioned it to the waitress, she smiled saying she'd tell the chef. When I asked for the bill, I also asked how the chef had responded, to which she just smiled again, saying nothing... Also, £6.50 for a bottle of local beer is not very good value... But then, the view to the gardens and the patio area is very nice...

I booked a champagne afternoon tea at The Grove for my birthday after it being suggested to me by my sister who had visited the hotel before. I wasn't disappointed. The whole experience made my day. The grounds are simply beautiful, the staff very welcoming and attentive. Food was good, cakes were delicious. Nice touches really enhanced my day. The afternoon tea manager Alexandria was a very nice lady who gave exceptional customer service. My sister organised a back massage for me in the hotels health & Spa. It was amazing!

Stunning country house with rolling grounds, canal flowing through, scenic golf course and nice spa. I loved the art in the gardens. Have been a few times and though the grounds and facilities are truly top notch, for their price bracket the extension of the hotel has rooms that are comparatively basic. The restaurant by the golf club and cocktail bar is nice. But it always seems a bit strange to have a buffet as the main hotel evening restaurant for the price of the rooms.

Was here for a business meeting. Agree with most of the reviews here. The grounds are impressive and staff are friendly. The layout of the rooms is bit wonky. If you are staying in rooms more than 140+ you have a to walk quite a lot to reach the rooms. So keep that in mind. The glasshouse restaurant is quite expensive for what it is. You could take a taxi to nearby spots in Watford if you do not want to spend a lot for dinner. I found the stables bar to be better atmosphere than glasshouse. The rooms are quite good but honestly you guys could keep a slightly large bottle of water in the rooms considering the room charges!

A very pleasant place to come with lovely surroundings. Whilst very close to Watford, you don't feel like you're in or near a town. I've been here for a business meeting in the reception bar, a meal at Colette's, and for tennis. All were good experiences. Colette's was exceptional food. The tennis courts are astro and in OK condition but not ideal when slippery during the winter. Overall a pretty posh place.

My company cleans the carpets and upholstery here so I know the place probably better than any other visitor. I also stayed here on my wedding night.

This is a unique Hotel. The staff are serious about customer service and the grounds are incredible. If you play golf there's probably no better place to stay near London.

My wife and I absolutely loved it when we stayed. I'm usually a little funny about eating out but because I've seen how clean the kitchens are first hand and how skilled the cooks are I had no worries enjoying the great good on offer.

Probably my favourite hotel.

Fantastic dining experience in the glasshouse restaurant. Essentially a buffet meal, but with loads of different world foods including sushi, Chinese (stir fries cooked to order), Asian dishes, roasts, salads and more. Also lots of desserts. I suggest not loading up your plate but taking smaller amounts from each section. The staff are very attentive and will clear the table regularly as you make your way through the various foods. We went during the week when the price is lower and during January there is a further discount to drum up business during the after Christmas lull. Still not cheap but worth it on a special occasion.

Went to the Glass house for my work team Christmas lunch. Busy time of the year as there were queues in most of the buffet stations. Beautiful food, perfectly capable of catering for all dietary restrictions. Desserts were amazing. The restaurant itself as a nice decor and in regards to the service I can't fault it at all. Overall an all round good experience.

Breakfast really amazing! A lot of different berries, fruits and everything I wish to have. For our room I can't say it was good, we stay in main building that already to old, others look pretty new and fresh to me. So we very clear hearing who was walking (or jumping)) upstairs )) at night it was not so nice.. only this big minus if you don't like a noise of your neighbors.

❗️SPA ❗️...... I put ⭐️ ⭐️ stars and Only for good quality cosmetic they use, for their quality spa rooms, good steam room. But for quality of their personal - it was terrible experience in my life!!!! Was very disappoint of all what happening. Really, before I was don't won't share this (like a bad dreams), but now think I need do it, that other travelers just know it... So I chose 55 minute treatment massage for my back, in Real --> it was 20 min! quick back massage (35 min for other things that I really don't expect... ) 2 times ! asked some questions about my health, then explain to me about this massage (??? ) and trying sell to me their productions before treatment and after also...
oh their price... I wish their expensive treatment will be REALLY worthy of this money you will pay... so I really don't know "who" look after their Spa staff, but for me it's truly very low quality of management - who in real must to know - what is it SPA -

Just had the Saturday buffet lunch. Used to be a little more special with more choice. Still good choices but maybe should be cheaper to reflect less choice, and slightly lower quality. I have been going here for nearly 10 years. Used to be an automatic yes when anyone suggested it but now think twice about value for money you now get.

Great place for a meeting - would mark it 5 stars but for one of their snot nosed guests poor attempts at stating her position. Darling I've designed for the worlds greatest golfer so crawl back into your self indulgent hole of insignificance. Alternatively try addressing your fellow human being with dignity and respect regardless out how you perceive their position. Age is most certainly not synonymous with wisdom - hope she was a one off as I'd like to return.

The hotel and grounds are beautiful, even if you're not a golfer it's well worth having a walk around. The walled garden is very cool with an outdoor pool, beach area and lawn games like giant chess and croquet. The staff are all incredibly polite and helpful. The spa was amazing and the massages perfect. My only reason for taking 1 star off was the food in the Stable. I got it as part of a spa package, but would have been very disappointed if I'd spent the actual money as the food was only ok. £19 for some dry chicken I could get at Harvester isn't on my list of enjoyable things!

Overall, definitely stay, definitely use the spa and get a massage, but head down the road for dinner!

The grove is set in amazing grounds just off the M25. The facilities include, golf course, spa, gardens, restaurants, bars etc. The double room I stayed in was very spacious, clean and modern. The food itself was upmarket pub food of very high quality.

Ate at The Glasshouse. Great food, selection and service. However, for a 5* Hotel common areas starting to look a bit tatty in places - needs a redec and more attention to detail/maintenance. Maybe I am picky but was expecting something exceptional. Due for a refurbishment?

As a architectural space the foyer and reception spaces along with the gallery and Library are stunning. Eating in the glasshouse was nice, but the food was just that... nice but not amazing I would say that it's expensive for what it is but a pleasant enough experience. Service was exceptional, apart from when the staff tried to keep our booking deposit in additional to the bill and looking confused that we had paid a deposit at all...very strange!

10

A high standard in service, environment and facilities. A nice place to spend a weekend on a special occasion esp. If a deal is available, rate card is too high for the slightly 'corporate' feel.
The restaurants are great, the spa is good, the grounds are excellent, the only improvement I can suggest is staff attitude could be more about guests than about process. Not up to the best customer service and this results in what I call a 'corporate' feeling, not quite a genuine welcome.

Had a meal at the Glasshouse restaurant. Arrived early and had drinks on the lovely terrace. Was gifted a winter warmers golf package, it was excellent from start to finish. The staff at arrival were great, took our clubs out of the car and sorted out our trolleys as we went to breakfast and valet parked our car. The range is good and the range attendant was very friendly and helpful. The course is good, and was in lovely condition given it is winter still. Had afternoon tea here with my daughters on 11th March 2017. The sandwiches and cakes were delicious and the different teas that we tasted were very different and very nice
A very big thank you to our waitress Vera who went out of her way to make our experience so enjoyable. Her knowledge of the different teas that we could try was so good. I tried a green tea that she recommended and it was delicious. She make our afternoon a very good memory. Also had a walk around the beautiful grounds afterwards. The Grove is definitely a beautiful hotel set in equally beautiful grounds and I look forward to another visit.

Great hotel! Attended for a meeting. Very nice facilities which create a great atmosphere for meetings and conferences. Food is plentiful and good quality and the grounds are really nice for walking around in. The hotel rooms are relatively standard, nothing too special which is why my review isn't 5 stars. Great staff, lovely English food - fish and chips is my favourite. Batter is not greasy and is thick. Nice moist cod inside. The fries are made from fresh potatoes as are the mushy peas. I would recommend this place for a lovely meal and setting. The grounds has some lovely art.

I have stayed in many five star hotels throughout the World, but I am very proud to say that a hotel that is situated so close to where I live really is a cut above the rest. Upon arrival we were greeted by Jason the duty manager who throughout our stay went out of his way to accommodate our needs and was always polite and friendly, he was a real credit to the hotel and representative of the high standard of customer service they provide.
We had decided to eat at all three restaurants at the Grove, including afternoon tea on two occasions. Firstly we ate at the Glasshouse for a buffet lunch - there was plenty to choose from, and everything that I ate (which was a lot) was delicious. The chef's behind the buffet were extremely friendly and informative. That evening we ate at Colette's, but due to tiredness I had to go back to the room. Again, the staff were very accommodating and brought the rest of our meal to our room. Breakfast was in the Glasshouse and once again consisted of a buffet with a wide selection of delicious food and beverages. Both afternoon teas that we had were excellent and we were served by very well-mannered waiters on both occasions. On the second occasion there was no availability for afternoon tea but rather than point-blank refusing us, the waitress and the chef were willing to go the extra mile to get us in - so often staff will be too rigid on such rules. My wife and I also booked in for treatments at the spa, and personally my massage was one of the best I have had - so often when you go to hotels and book a massage you encounter people who are mediocre at best, but here it was outstanding. We stayed in the main house in an executive suite with views over the garden. Again, many suites I have stayed in have disappointed, but this room was clean and well decorated with a comfortable bed and a very large flat-screen television. The grounds were immaculate and the walled-garden was very unique, with a beach section complete with beach-volleyball nets and a well-heated outdoor swimming pool.
In summary, if you are looking for a relaxing luxurious break, then you will not be disappointed with the Grove.

Overnight stay in a first class hotel in stunning grounds! Amazing attention to detail; we found all the staff extremely friendly and helpful. We had a superb room with beautiful views over the formal gardens. The walled gardens are certainly worth a visit - some most intriguing plants! We had both dinner and breakfast in the Glasshouse which was a real experience - a great variety of freshly prepared foods and great service. A revisit is on the cards and we would certainly recommend.
