Great value for money for location (2 small blocks back from the beach, many great food options within walking distance, local buses & trolleys right on its door step), service (2am reception helped me book an extra night's stay after a flight delay, always friendly and helpful staff any time of day is greatly appreciated, nothing was too much), room & amenities (good wifi connection throughout the hotel, even on the rooftop, cable TV if you don't feel like leaving your room, clean & comfortable bed & room to rest your feet in between sights). Would definitely stay here again.

Nice mid range hotel. Staff were helpful and let check in a few hours early. Pool and spa on the roof were good.

Each room is different, so make sure you request room change (if possible). Very reasonably priced for the setup. Compared with the price of nearby hotels, this place is highly recommended.

Great location, very clean and nice staff. If you are on floor 11 or below bring your ear plugs as you are very close to everything so can be a bit noisy.

This hotel was great! In a wonderful location for getting around Waikiki. Plenty of shopping and restaurants very close by. Also a bus stop right out front! The air conditioning unit is loud but we were grateful for it in the heat and humidity! The desk was very helpful and kept all of our bags (7 people) until our room was ready so we could go sightseeing. It was waiting in our rooms when we got back to check in!

This is a nice hotel. Walking distance to the beach. It's a bit aged but in overall good condition. The staff are friendly and helpful.

Great location on kuhio just a blocks stroll to the beach. Updated modern entrance, friendly staff, rooms very nice, large and clean. Pool sauna and spa on rooftop. Large hospitality room for hosting. Insider top: condos in building available via air bnb for a great rate

Loved our stay, air conditioned rooms, tourism services available. Pool on the roof with great views. Wash and dryer also available. Just a short stroll to Waikiki Beach and shops.

Very well priced high quality suites! The low garage clearance does not allow all SUVs to park inside. Parking price a bit steep.

Cleanliness needs improvement. Pool was noticeably cloudy and dirty for almost the entire 2nd week of our stay. Staff notified and never got cleaned. Entire hotel dated however kitchenette very convenient as food nearby shady. Other than the lack of cleaning staff was friendly.

Stayed at an AirBnB on the 27th floor in the Pacific Monarch with a beautiful view of Waikiki beach. We really enjoyed the unit and the building. The musubi cafe located on the 1st floor was a sweet, perfect spot to grab some fresh, warm spam musubi. There usually is a line so prepare for a small wait. The rooftop swimming pool is warm and perfect for a night swim. The hot tub fits plenty of adults. We would be happy to stay here every time we are on Oahu. One minor negative, finding free parking in the area is no fun but the building does has a $25/day option.

The age is showing somewhat but overall it is a nice place. The rooms are nice and have good amenities. It's everything you need and it's a 5 minute walk to the beach.

Great views, average rooms. Due to a plumbing issue in my original room, we were upgraded to an ocean view suite. The view was fabulous. The beds were comfy, and even the sofabed wasn't bad. The kitchenette was a bit oddly laid out, but had everything we needed. Housekeeping was not all I might have hoped for - things got pretty dusty during out 2 week stay, and the vacuuming was pretty slapdash - but it wasn't terrible. The rooftop pool was warm, and you can see for miles from the pool deck. Turning on the hot tub aeration created a noise like a siren, but if you can live without the bubbles, it's quite pleasant. We spent a lot of time in the courtyard of the sister Aqua hotel next-door, which is lovely. It's about what you'd expect for its price point.

Purchased through Groupon and was expecting the worst (you never know what you'll end up with on Groupon), but was impressed! Rooftop pool and hot tub are nice and you get a beautiful view of the city. This hotel is a bit dated, but the front desk staff were friendly and helpful, rooms have all the amenities you need the kitchenette is well stocked. If your not requiring anything fancy this is a great place to stay. Location is perfect too only 2 blocks to the beach.

Lovely and clean room. Well serviced, nice rooftop pool and spa area. Excellent staff. However on the higher levels of the building, we experienced rattling and whistling nosies that made it difficult to sleep. Highly enjoyed our stay.

Pretty nice convenient hotel with kitchen and a dinning table and chairs. Self parking is a bit tricky but $30 per day is reasonable. Rice ball restaurant at lobby floor was really great.

5

It's true to its 3 star rating. They've tried to update things here and there, but there are certain key things that they've neglected which would otherwise have increased my rating of them. There is one window that is not sealed. It wouldn't necessarily be a problem, except for the fact that the weather is always warm and humid. What makes things worse is that he AC unit is located right under that window and the entire setup is in the most isolated corner of the room. So what happens? Air coming from the AC unit escapes straight through the perpetually unsealed window and the entire room stays hot and humid i.e uncomfortable. Also, asking for a wake up call is useless as their system is always broken. Otherwise, not a bad place to put your feet up after a long day of sightseeing.

I have stayed in Waikiki many times and this hotel is by far the best I have encountered. Clean, brilliantly located, great staff, awesome amenities, excellent for a longer stays. As another reviewer said "feels like home". Will be my go to place for future visits for sure!

Due to this place previously being a condominium, we were originally placed in a more run down room not identifying to the rooms advertised on their website. However after speaking to the very kind employee at the front desk we were very quickly placed in a beautiful room just as desired. The location is just a short walk to the beach and right in the middle of anything and everything else. The views are great and the employees are very friendly. Definitely a great value for the price and will most likely stay here again when we visit again.

8

Spend a week in the hotel on family vacation in Hawaii. The hotel is very convenient located just two streets off the Waikiki beach (the most touristy beach in Honolulu). The hotel has its own parking lot (though managed by other company) and thus is very convenient if you are driving. The rooms are average, but spacious and offer good views and natural light. The rooftop swimming pool and spa were great for for the kids.

Close to everything, good sized rooms at a fair price. Coffee makers, microwave and cook top mean you can make a couple of dinners at home. Laundry is handy, daily papers and lemon water and ice in the foyer make it very pleasant

Hotel is a bit older than photoshopped photos. There's 3 elevators, when one would go out of order it was a long wait. Otherwise good enough. 3 stars for a 3 star hotel. The view was nice though.

Great location in Waikiki! Nice rooftop pool and hot tub with amazing views. Room we had was actually not part of the hotel but a privately owned unit in the building. Again the location is great, so many things to see and do just a short walk away!

I visited while my friends stayed there. The front desk agents were very hospitable and helped my friends change rooms when it wasn't what they wanted. My friends got injured during their visit and the employees there continued to accommodate them. Nice folks. Very central location and easy walk to a lot of fun spots in Waikiki.

Lovely housekeeper! Very very sweet! Okay partial ocean view, mostly overlooking the Hyatt's. Front desk was nice, very accommodating. If you need a bigger rice cooker, you can ask for it. AC was a bit weak.

Excellent experience with a helpful staff! I came here on my honeymoon and I could not have picked a better location. As soon as we came in they upgraded our room at no extra charge and gave us a box of chocolate cover macadamia nuts. The staff was great at pointing us to great restaurants and attractions. The rooftop pool was perfect for swimming and laying out in the sun when you wanted a break from waikiki beach but still wanted to be in the great weather. Definitely coming back next time we visit!

Just returned from 2 weeks at the Pacific Monarch. A great stay and so relaxing. The staff are all so top notch, friendly and helpful. The rooms are nothing fancy, but clean and have a homely feel. The kitchens have the basic cooking necessities. Although, I'd highly recommend bringing a sharp knife unless you're good at cutting pineapples with a bread knife. The location in Waikiki is amazing, 2-3 minutes to the beach, grocery store & bus stop. Pizza shop next door, sandwich, smoothies & bubble tea across the street and an ABC at the end of the block. Plus only 5-10 minutes to the fancy hotels or Zoo. The only downside is the hospitality fee of $15... That being said, would most definitely stay here again.

Location-awesome! Hotel/room-Old, but it's ok what you paid for, don't expect a 4/5 star hotel experience. It is close to motel 6 or so. Service- Front desk people are nice and very helpful! They upgraded me to ocean view i did not even ask. Also, immediately engaged my issue with sofa bed. Like their way to handle with customers. Very professional.

Amazing service, great employees, super location, feels like home. We have an overnight flight at 10 pm, check out from the hotel is at 12pm. The hotel staff been so understanding and provided great service by allowing us to leave our luggage at the front desk and let us use the shower by the roof top pool, providing us with towels, shampoo and anything we need, also we were told that we are welcome to hang out by the pool till whenever we need to leave. We are definitely coming back, one of the best hotel experiences we had. People employed here care about their guests. Originally I booked a studio with a cheaper rate of the city view, got updated to a lower floor one bedroom. We arrived later at night, extremely tired, our flight was delayed,we woke up in the updated one bedroom with gorgeous ocean view. The room has a full kitchen and a sofa bed, big balcony with table and chairs, the bedroom has a good size bed and a balcony. Room service is timely and very cautious. Such a great experience . After a long day at the beach, we never used a word let's go back to the hotel, we kept saying "back home"...very grateful for the service received.

A very nice hotel, with a beautiful roof top pool, rooms well equipped with small kitchenette two beds and a balcony with a view to Waikiki Beach, we were within 2 or three blocks from the beach, and from the hotel there were a lot of different restaurants to explore, and enjoy. Lots of unique shops within 3 blocks. hotel staff were very accommodating and extremely helpful. Extremely clean rooms, inviting foyer.

The ocean view suites are very roomy, clean & nicely equipped with Whirlpool appliances and sturdy wooden furnishings similar to what one might expect in a small beach condo; modern with wicker trim. The small kitchen is complete with nice cabinets, a full size electric range, small microwave, crockpot, dishes & utensils for four and an apartment size refrigerator. The sofa is a sturdy pull out twin sleeper that matches the equally sturdy furnishings through out the one bed room suite. There is also a dining table with four chairs. The corner ocean view suite we have also has a nice view of the city of Honolulu and mountains! The terrace balcony is uniquely large and accommodating with a glass patio table and seating for four that make for a wonderful place to enjoy a meal with your partner & guests privately outside. The Pacific Monarch is an older hotel that is well cared for and nicely updated with free wifi, flat screen TVs in each suite. The AC unit at first seems a bit small for the space but manages to keep the suite cool with some adjustments. The separate bedroom is furnished with a nice commercial grade ceiling fan to help keep things cool. The combo works with the AC fan at just medium but the temp at 65 or less. The staff is professional, very friendly and helpful. We had a problem with the safe in our first room on the 18th floor. Rick from maintenance determined it was broken. I notified the front desk and we were given another room on the 22nd floor; better view! We highly recommend this hotel's suites over many of the small cramped and expensive offerings that have popped up around Honolulu. It's not overly fancy so you don't pay for excessive decor and extras you really don't need. But with spectacular views and a one minute walk to the beach, resterants, and shops, it's a clear value too good to pass up!

My boyfriend and I stayed at this hotel for a week in May and were really impressed with the hotel. We got a travel package deal through Expedia so it was pretty cheap overall. Despite having a city view room, the balcony still has a partial view of the ocean if you're up high enough. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. You can get a clean beach towel every day if desired. There's always a jug of cold fresh lemon water in the lobby. The kitchen has more than you could possibly need, including a full size fridge, oven, coffee maker, rice maker, and large sink (with dish soap and drying rack included). There are also all sorts of utensils, plates, and cups. The bed is incredibly comfortable and the room as a whole is very spacious. On the day we checked out, our flight didn't leave until the evening and the front desk let us store our bags in an employee room while we went out for lunch, as well as allowed us access to the upstairs lounge to hang out until the bus arrived to take us to the airport. Parking is expensive but we didn't rent a car so that wasn't a problem. Parking is expensive everywhere on the island and the public bus system is really the best way to get around anyway.
