Certifications

Energy Star

ENERGY STAR is a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency voluntary program that helps businesses and individuals save money and protect our climate through superior energy efficiency.

Buildings that have earned the Energy Star label use an average of almost 40 percent less energy than average buildings, and emit 35 percent less carbon. LEED-EB buildings must achieve a certain Energy Star score as a prerequisite for certification.

LEED Silver

The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) standard, developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), recognizes best-in-class building strategies and practices. It certifies that green buildings meet standards of energy efficiency, conservation, and community sensitivity.

LEED-certified buildings reduce energy and water by as much as 40%. LEED-certified buildings save resources and have a positive impact on the health of occupants while promoting renewable, clean energy.

USGBC's rating system has four levels: Certified, Silver, Gold, and Platinum. Green Building Councils in other countries have similar programs.

I stayed here for a couple of days, way back in 2014.

The rooms we were given were fantastic and service was top-notch.

Plus, the location is great; just a km away from Times Square and other landmarks.

The best part obviously was the gorgeous view.

This hotel was awesome! My stay here was wonderful and I got the most relaxing day of my life. I am heartily impressed by how they handled the service correctly with no hassles at all. Cheers to more customers and success in the future. I would definitely recommend and refer your hotel's services to everyone without any hesitation.

A surprisingly nice hotel. True, it’s in a revolting area, but the service is pleasant, the rooms nice, the beds comfortable. And really affordable. I’m very impressed! The location is perfectly safe — just kind of strange.

I had stayed at this hotel during last Christmas holiday. The location was perfect. Lots of restaurants & mart nearby. They upgraded my room as a titanium elite member benefit, and the room was pretty big. Breakfast was also good with $10x2 welcome gift per night. Awesome.
My family want to stay at this hotel whenever we visit NYC. Perfect hotel for any season.

Great location steps from Penn station. Clean, comfortable rooms. Friendly staff that checked me in early and gave recommendations for places to eat and drink. Would have liked complimentary breakfast but everything else was top notch.

I was amazed by this hotel. This is by far the cleanest hotel that I have ever stayed in. My husband, children, and myself were visiting the city for 4 days and 3 nights and were looking for a hotel close to Penn Starion as we were taking the train into the city. The room was spacious and modern with a fridge and microwave and provided an oasis after sightseeing.

We checked in about 1:00PM on Friday and were greeted by a lovely woman at the desk that said...“Sorry, we oversold the two- bed rooms so we are going to have to give you two one-bed rooms for the same price”. I held my breath because this happened before and I was offered a King bed room with a beautiful upgrade, I didn't know if my friend would be opposed to sharing a bed. Well, we didn't have to. We had our own rooms. They were adjoining so it was like a two room suite with 2 bathrooms. Worked out wonderfully. The staff was super friendly during our entire stay including the person that brought up an extra blanket at 12:00AM. Will stay again!

The staff was friendly but there were 2 minor room issues that we reported but were not corrected during our stay. One of the wall lamps didn't work correctly and when turned on sparkling sounds could be heard. Front desk staff told us the light needed to be replaced but since it was the weekend I suppose things like that must have to wait for regular weekdays. We had requested a bath mat ... It was there when we checked in but after the room was made up there was none.

It was a perfect experience. Facilities were modern, clean, and comfortable. It was a perfect Oasis to go back to after a long day exploring the city. Location was central to everything we wanted to see and there are plenty of food options nearby. The only thing I didn't like is that the conditioner in the shower ran out and it wasn't replenished by housekeeping the next day. That's not even worth taking half a star off though.

Stayed here in April of 2018 for a week. Decent location, as we were in Chelsea for a college visit for my son. The surrounding neighborhoods can be a bit sketchier than say around Times Square, where we stayed on our last visit. Other than that, the room was clean and the staff was nice. Bonus: we arrived early on our first day to make the most of our trip, and or room was ready for us to drop off our luggage and rest for a minute before heading out into the city. That was priceless after a long flight and Uber ride.

I stayed here last year in the summer. Location was good for me. Close to everything, while not being in the overcrowded tourist trap area. You are close to Old Navy, mama papa businesses. Right down the street from eyebrow salon, etc. Rooms are small, but the bathroom is super ample!
Right across the NYC police station . Felt very safe. Staff is very nice and helpful . I plan to.return, again.

I was staying at another hotel during this trip. This hotel was so much nicer than the other one. The hotel had blackout curtains, enough plugs, good shower, spacious and nice fresh looking rooms. The only improvement point would be.... Please provide tea bags. I like tea more. 😁

Hotel was only 1/2 block from the bus drop off and at $120 /night for Midtown the price could not be better. We had a king size bed which took up most of the room, but the bed was comfortable and we were mainly in the room to sleep. Good size bathroom with a great shower - you could easily adjust and it was good pressure. The only negative was a constant low volume high pitch noise from the heating system. It didn't bother me but my wife said it kept her awake.

Convenient to getting around Manhattan by subway for a play, shopping and restaurants. Staff was friendly, rooms are clean and there's a Starbucks in the lobby! We checked out, but were able to leave our luggage at the hotel until our bus left mid-day. A convenient and enjoyable stay.

Super friendly staff. I always choose to stay here when I'm in the area. It'd a newer hotel, perhaps a couple years old now. They've don't a good job keeping the "newness" if the hotel. The rooms are clear and staff accommodating. Will stay here again in the future. Certainly worth a look if you're looking for accommodations in the area.

9

Very helpful and knowledgeable staff. Rooms and hallways feel nice and private. You need a room card to go up on the elevator from the lobby, and you need a room card to get into the building late at night, so it feels very safe. Beautiful bathrooms (especially the shower; the King room I stayed in did not have a bathtub), cozy room. Not much of a view but I didn't stay in my room much so I didn't mind. The King room had a safe to lock valuables in. The only negative is it was very busy (Thanksgiving week) and during prime check-in hours the elevators took a LONG time to get there. If you can take the stairs then it would be okay.

Stayed here on a recent business trip. Room was quite comfortable, a little smaller than I would've like, but the bed was relaxing, noise level was tolerable, given that it was New York City. The bathroom was nice and cleaned and the shower was good. Only thing I had issue with was the lack of a hotel directory/welcome book explaining some the hotels amenities. It would have been nice to know that there is only one ice machine in the hotel and it's on the basement floor, right next to the fitness center and the laundry, which I didn't know were there. Other than that small detail, hotel was nice & clean. The staff was wonderful and I wouldn't mind staying here again.

This is a great location if you are going to MSG. There are plenty of restaurants and bars in the immediate area. The room was clean and well appointed, incredibly efficient use of space. The room was small, but that's to be expected for NYC. I would recommend this hotel and location, it's very good.

My very first stay at this Courtyard Marriot location. It is a nice and clean hotel. There is a Bistro type restaurant inside the hotel and I do believe you have to pay to eat here which is not a problem with me. The room I stayed in was on the 19th floor. The rooms are kind of small but adequate for 2 people. The bathroom was a nice size and the shower was big enough to fit 2 people. There is also a bar/grill right next door to the hotel but I did not eat there so I'm unable to give a review. I stayed at this location because the price was right for that weekend and the location was good for me.

I stayed here for one night on 9/14/17 and the hotel is in a great location. Not being from NY, when it said Chelsea, it threw me off and I was not sure how close it was to times square and my family was staying at the Renaissance so I booked this hotel for one night only because I found the Courtyard New York Manhattan/Central for a cheaper rate and when I did mapquest it was closer to the Renaissance. Well knowing what I know now I wish I would have stayed at this location instead of moving to the Central location. This location is down by Madison Square Garden and is right there at Times Square. Yes, it would have been about 5-7 more mins walking from this hotel to the Renaissance but they are both nestled close to Times Square. But again, the Chelsea part threw me off. This location room was a little bigger than the central park location and I also liked the shower better at this location. If I was to stay in times square again I would choose this location. I'm sure there are some better ones, but for the price and accessibility to times square I would pick this hotel. Front desk was also friendly!

Great location and friendly staff, the room was reasonable big and very clean, gym is OK and open for 24hrs some treadmills, bikes and dumbbells.
Where not sure of how much do you tip a bell boy for taking your bags to the lobby from the cloakroom, we read that its $1 per bag.
When you change your money ask for 20/30 $1 bill, this always comes in handy for you arrival. Happy tipping :)

Took my 2 girls to NYC via Amtrak. Selected this hotel due to it's location to Penn Station. Great hotel location for walking to the train and shopping. We saw a play and were able to walk to it no problems. Booked a king room with sleeper chair. More than enough room for us. The sleeper chair was only large enough for one and it was not as comfortable as the bed but it was fine for our 5 nights there. Room did have a fridge, went to walgreens (open 24 hours), picked up cereal, fruit and milk for breakfast each morning. Would stay here again!

Service has been wonderful. I had requested a fridge to store my breast milk in (which is in all rooms) and although there is no freezer to store my ice packs, they've been very kind to store them in their personal fridge. Had to call engineering once and they came right away and solved my problem. Rooms are clean and decently sized. Location has been great and close to everywhere I needed to be.

Never have I stayed in a hotel with ZERO problems until now. I am very picky about cleanliness, so take it from me, this hotel is clean. At other hotels, I come back in the middle of my day and the room still isn't cleaned. My family came back (from breakfast) one morning to get ready for our day, and we caught the housekeeper... get this... mopping our bathroom floor! The room was already almost done.

The room was small, but very clean. The beds were comfy cozy!

The staff greeted us when we came in every time with a "Welcome Back!" and when we left it was, "Enjoy your day!" They were all so very sweet and helpful.

The location was ideal because it was within walking distance of many of the major attractions that you want to see. The only time we took a taxi was the day we visited the Statue of Liberty and 9/11 Memorial. It is also a block away from Penn Station, which has subway service to anywhere you want to go!

The hotel you choose when vacationing can make or break your visit. This hotel is a perfect choice to ensure that you have a smooth and unforgettable NYC experience. We did, and I hope you do too!

The location of this hotel was perfect, relative to Penn Station. The hotel looks like it was recently updated and the appearance had almost a spa like feel. I felt secure as you need a hotel key to access the guest floors. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Only complaint was the noise from the hallway; the doors did not cancel much out and everything going on in the hallway could be heard. Will definitely consider staying at this hotel again.

Our visit was fine. No big issues. The hotel clerk recommended a restaurant that was horrible. Also, their food court had one person working in it, so it took me 20 minutes to get a coffee there. ("everyone else called in sick.") Why don't they have continental, or at least coffee that's better than room coffee? They could learn a lot from Hyatts.

A very clean and neat hotel. I was there a few days ago and the staff are very helpful. Two of them Stephnie and Jeanne were really nice to us and helped us with some address and early check in. This hotel has two lobbies! indoors and outdoors, very close to Subways, Penn station, MSG. Try to get higher floors which have better views, we were on 5th and had a bad view.

This was the first time me and my husband visited New York. The hotel was clean and cool and the hotel staff was friendly and very attentive and accommodating. The best part about my experience though was how thoroughly our rooms were cleaned. The housekeepers took special attention to the details and did a fantastic job! Definitely recommend to stay here for an affordable hotel with a great location close to Madison square garden, Times Square, great restaurants, a full gym next door called blink (they charge $15 for 45 days and it's a couple bucks to cancel but well worth it if you want a full gym while you are there) the hotel has a 24 hour gym with Dumbbells and cardio equipment.) and of course the Empire State Building. Definitely will be coming back :)

However, was confused about the complimentary continental breakfast they were said to have, as we did t have it while we were there but we may have been confused about the time or location it was available.
