Loved the decor. We came just for drinks on Valentine's day weekend. The beauty in their decor was amazing. The deep red and details. Very good drinks! DJ's were great!

I was there for my alumni holiday party. The catered appetizers were delicious. Upstairs on the main level had a great DJ. The rose wall is perfect for Instagram pics. Unfortunately you can't bring food in otherwise I would have given it 5 stars.

I joked that I want at a hotel, I was "up in the club" because the room and overall hotel has that club vibe going on. It was a bit noising, and the room itself want great -- bed was pretty uncomfortable, bathroom could use a soaker tub, or at least a decent shower head, as mine worked at half power.

Not sure that I'll go back, except for the location... Can't beat the location. Was zero blocks away from my company office.

We visited while it was a Christmas popup and had 10,000+ red roses. The place was absolutely beautiful and a superb place for a photo op. The chairs, tables, and floors were even floral. The ambiance it gave off was incredible. The temporary drink menu could have been better.

If you like circles, this is your place. Circles and round spheres everywhere! This is a really nice hotel with a great location. The hotel gets loud at night with clubs and bars there and close by, but you can't hear in your room. I enjoyed my stay and would go back.

I was there on a Tuesday night on the rooftop and the ambiance was like a Saturday night to be honest. There is no imposed attire and no fees for entry, just have your id. Now that might because is was a Tuesday night so you never know. The crowd was diverse and drinks were not too pricey. I would definitely recommend this spot if you're trying to have a good time on a weeknight.

Very nice atmosphere, well decorated and heavily themed - it's a fun hotel to stay in. But it lacked amenities that I would consider standard in a hotel of this price. Location is excellent and if you're into clubbing it's a great lobby with an attached club (PhD). If you're there for work, I would consider elsewhere.

I'm coming to the Dream Downtown several time a year and it's always great.
The rooms are always nice and silent (if you want it silent) the bed is comfortable. The staff is super friendly and helpful.
The vibe in the hotel is actually the best.
It's always nice to come back to the Hotel.

For me, the best and nicest Hotel in NYC.

I can highly recommend it.

The decor is nice enough and so is the staff. Food bites were okay and tasty. The outdoor space needs mist fans or even low maintenance fans to help keep people cool in these humid days. Drinks are fine and well (except to pay the price for a trendy location), bartenders do their best with the crowd. Yet for the cost of the drinks- using real glassware would be much better than cracked, foggy worn out acrylic cups. The music is hit/mess depending on the DJ.

From the moment I arrived at the hotel, I got the feeling from the staff that I should just feel lucky to be staying at their hotel. Despite hosting a large event there, the concierge was completely unhelpful. Staff complained in front of me that they wished they had called in sick because Gay Pride was too difficult to work. The doorman during the day was gruff and seemed offended that I was just trying to get to my room. The clientele at night bustling in and out of the hotel bars is drunk, obnoxious and rude. One vomited in our hallway, and it stayed there for hours. Calling the hotel after my stay just to get a receipt involved being on hold for almost 10 minutes. The room I stayed in was poorly designed - simple things like an outlet by the side of the bed, or a hanger next to the shower for my towel, were nowhere to be found. When I complained and a manager contacted me, their solution was to promise me better service next time I stayed there, as though I would ever stay at this hotel again. After all of this, when I called to ask my receipt be emailed to me, the first person didn't do it. When I called back several hours later to ask again, the person literally refused to do it saying I needed to call a different number, then not offering that number, then hanging up on me. The one thing it has going for it is the location, but I'll happily pay more to avoid the Dream Hotel in the future.

The Dream Hotel has a nice rooftop bar. The bouncers were friendly and overall it was a good venue. I went there to meet some people for a Canada Day event, and it was pretty crowded which is not my thing. I have no complaints about the hotel itself though.

Pool is open to the public on the weekdays. Hotel guests only on the weekends. When the weather is hot, if you want a lounge chair, make sure to arrive at the pool no later than 7:45 to guarantee a seat. By 8:00, all the chairs are taken.

Great location. Trendy vibe. Staff, for the most part, helpful and courteous.

Service is good and efficient. The view and location is great. The rooms are tiny even for New York standards. The rooms are extra cold with concrete, glass and steel all around. Does not feel inviting at all. Especially after a long day of work, it isn't mentally relaxing to come into the hotel room. The round windows add to the prison feel.

Very nice modern design, spacious. Service staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. A total pleasure to interact with them.

But noisy with loud and unpleasant clubbing music with improperly dressed non-guests walking everywhere; non functional - the refrigerator in the room is completely full and unusable, removal of any items will cause a charge to be applied immediately. No utensils, no microwave, insufficient hanging space for damp towels and clothing. Poorly designed.

The front desk staff was however very helpful in switching me to a room that is more insulated, they also waived the incidentals.

I really enjoyed myself at this particular Hotel. I was brought here under Google for their office visit, and this is the hotel that they chose. I knew it had to be a good hotel if it was endorsed by Google. The rooms are exactly what I would have expected out of a 4-star hotel. Smart automation as soon as you open the front door! Circular Windows throughout the entire Hotel give a nautical feel to the room. Also the handwritten note accompanied by freshly baked cookies and a glass bottle of water added to the excitement and experience! The price for this 4-star hotel is also very reasonable and I will be coming back to this particular hotel in the near future!

The room size is nice, staff is great and the location is amazing. The main issue is the noise that comes from the corridors. You can hear absolutely every door that opens and closes, what everyone says outside of the rooms, and it does keep you awake or awakens you, if you have a light sleep. Something must be done here, especially because there are different night clubs and restaurants inside the hotel, which means you can let hear all the drunk people trying to find their rooms and even trying to open your room door. If it weren't for the staff service and hotel location, I would certainly give the hotel 1 or 2 stars... I'm very disappointed...

Unique & Sleek, Pet friendly European Hotel. Right in the heart of Chelsea New York. The hotel both several bars and nightclubs all are amazing. I attended a personal event in the electric room it was incredible. Definitely a must if you're looking for a place to stay in New York amongst nightlife. Plan on visiting again! Thank you DREAM!!

Depends what you're looking for. This place is in a great location but tries way too hard to be cool and basically turns into a nightclub after dark. Walls in the rooms are super thin so beware if you're a light sleeper. Staff were extremely friendly though. I probably won't stay here again on a business trip but if you're in town for fun, it might be a good option.

The hotel is trendy. The crowd was mostly under 30 although some middle age or older like us. We had fun it’s a great area and rooms are very co temporary and nicely appointed. Chris scali the concierge was wonderful. Great attitude very helpful and vested in his guest!

It's a party on the first and top floor but I didn't have time to attend. It's right across the street from both Google offices on the ninth Street side. Doesn't provide tooth paste or tooth brushes which was disappointing but there is shampoo and lotion. Bed was comfy enough although it's not the best. Shower was awesome. The room itself was very nice and fun to stay in

A decent hotel with fine staff. It's trendy, or tacky, depending on who you ask, and if you're a fan of the club scene you'll enjoy its multiple venues. If you're visiting for serious work, or prefer a quieter environment, this place may not be for you. My room was fine. Small, but comfortable enough. The noise from the clubs was loud and long-lasting into the night, though. The hotel lobby bar was quite pricey. The staff were friendly and helpful, though. I would not stay here again, as it's not my taste, but I can see its appeal to some.

This is a great hotel. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The rooftop club is pretty great if you can get in. It's definitely worth a try but you need to make sure your face fits or at least go balling with a wedge of cash 😂 as that will also get you through the door and maybe even a spot on the outside balcony (which had amazing views of the city sky line). There's a gym and a pool although the pool is only a couple of feet deep (so I'd say it was more of a posers pool to be honest). The clientele are generally young, and a little pretentious and who very much value style and appearance highly but don't let first impressions put you off as every other guest we met and chatted to was extremely nice and friendly (as was every other American we met). The hotel location was perfect as well, right next to the Chelsea food market and the high line and central to most other tourist hot spots. Would definitely recommend!

Great Location near Chelsea Market, the High Line, and the Whitney. The staff are friendly and helpful. The building is modern, clean, and comfortable. Families with young children may want to avoid weekends. We stayed on a Saturday, and it was packed and LOUD. We could hear the lobby DJ clearly from our third floor room. The staff, especially night manager manager Bridget, worked their magic and moved us to the fifth floor. Anything higher than that should be good.

In the suite my husband, son and myself stayed in, the beds were really uncomfortable. It was also on the second floor, which happens to be under the gym. Let's just say that was pretty annoying at night and the wall weren't really sound proof, you can hear your neighbors. Not really a hotel for kids as well and not much for a 17mnt old to do in the area other than going to the park around the corner. There were 3 staff members that made us feel welcomed, and made conversation everyday. Other than those 3, the rest of them would look at you and not even crack a smile.

Food in the restaurant just downstairs was amazing, great place to eat, friendly and fast service.
Housekeeping also did a great job everyday.

The new location is perfectly placed between public transportation and the west side highway. Walking into the restaurant makes you feel like dinner is waiting for you and not the other way around. Truffle fries are crisped to perfection. The staff are wonderfully attentive.

The Dream Downtown has a fantastic location in the heart of meatpacking. In addition, it has a unique shape and design and a very good looking lobby/bar area that gives it a high end allure. I visited a hotel room for a friend's birthday and it was very modern looking with a unique design. Would recommend checking it out.

This swank boutique hotel was a fun place to stay. Lots of fun restaurants and bars. The rooms have great designs, albeit not as functional features in the bathroom. The rooms were skimpy on towels and lotions. The desk is too small to work on a laptop. But the tv, bed, and audio systems were great, and the bed very comfortable. Room prices were about right for the value.

While it's pretty, it's very noisy. I can hear the room next to me and the shutting of their drawers, doors, voices, etc. Some staff is very nice and helpful (like Chris the concierge) while others have some attitude. The elevators require you to insert your hotel card key to access to floors (fine), but I had some issues with inserting and removing the card to get it to accept, so I went to the front desk to ask for help. A man walked me to elevator the show me how to do it because he said I was probably doing it wrong (... right, because inserting and removing a card is super difficult apparently), anyways it didn't work for him the first time but did the second, he was frustrated with me when I pointed out the fact it didn't work for him the first time. He then walked away in a fit ... While it's convenient for me to walk across the street for work, I think I will try somewhere else next time when traveling here for work for better hospitality!

Our room was very nice, spacious, and clean. The staff was very helpful and courteous. They gave us a real crib with a nice mattress for our toddler to sleep in, which was really nice because he slept better in that than the usual pack n play. The only downside is that it is pretty loud and has a party atmosphere, which would be great if that's what you're here for, but it isn't so great for a family.

Hotel is in the heart of the Chelsea District in Manhattan and just like the district, it is chic, has a lot to offer in the lobby bar and on the rooftop. Right next to Tao Downtown which is a restaurant worth checking out. The lobby staff was very helpful and there was so much to do within walking distance!

Thoroughly enjoyed my single night stay at the Dream Downtown. All of the staff was very welcoming and helpful, especially in making restaurant and activity suggestions. Most notably, I enjoyed interacting with Joe Sabatelli, the concierge. He provided local insight into many of the area's best restaurants/bars/etc.

The hotel itself has a very modern aesthetic from when you see it across the street to when you walk in your room. Make sure to also take a stop by the rooftop pool/lounge area before you leave!

Great location. NOT a luxury hotel. Bed kinda hard. Very very outlets near bed. The room is dim. The sink doesn't drain well. There is no lotion. Even Super8s provide lotion. The sink is slow to drain. It's hard to keep the room from getting too hot. It's still a little to hot even though it's been set at 68 for at least 24 hours. We keep our home at 72. 1 big positive is the rainfall shower head. But this does not make up for everything.

This is a very convenient location when needing to work across the street and was recommended to me for that very reason. I found the rooms to be a good size for NYC hotels, the bed comfortable and the shower relaxing. However, the room decor reminded me of 70’s chic (not my cup of tea) updated for the 90’s (a portrait on the room was of Drew Barrymore during her “bad girl” phase). All the furniture was low and you almost felt like you had to fall into them to sit down and do a deep knee bend to get up. The hotel staff were attentive and pleasant. I am not sure I will return.

This hotel had very hip and modern design!! Quirky but it suits my taste. Quite a fun visit. The washrooms are a bit difficult (it's hard to describe.... you'll understand when you enter it). The beer can bottles itself is a peace of art! Suitable for young people :)

Not impressed, but great location, very friendly and professional service. Room was small. No fridge space for your food (only stuff for sale). The bed was the only comfortable place to sit. It took 2 requests to get the heater working. The clubs were good. Not a quiet place to sleep at night.

This was such a horrible stay! The beds were awful, lumpy, hard, and extremely old. The room was not as pictured on the website - we booked "platinum" rooms so that we could have a divider between the sofa bed and the king bed for privacy since we had people sleeping in both, but there was no such divider, and the sofa and bed are right next to each other. After we checked out, we'd been charged $120 extra per night for no reason - labeled an "upgrade fee". This fee was never discussed with us before it was charged, and we have no idea why. Then, when I called about it, I was transferred around to 3 different people, none who could explain the charge or resolve my issue. I was told they would get back to me, but they never did. Breakfast & room service was also a terrible experience - extremely overpriced and the service was horrible - it took an hour to get our food. For the money we spent, we were extremely disappointed.

Stayed a single evening on the 10th floor, had a fine time. Staff at reception desk was very friendly, and after programming my key for the wrong room, kindly offered a couple of drink vouchers to make up for it. Room was clean, but did have heavy odor from cleaning products. Better than smelling bad, I guess. In-room TV with Android TV was awesome, especially since it was wired for sound into the bathroom, too. Overall, had a great time and would return!

The Gold King room that I stayed in was very nice. Bed is very comfortable, shower is nice (although mine didn't drain all the way), and a fantastic view of the NYC skyline (including the Empire State building) through these large circular windows. They're definitely a unique touch. The only complaints I have is that given the price your paying for this nice hotel, I would have expected a free complimentary breakfast (breakfast menu is very nice, but a bit on the expensive side). That and while the mini fridge is stocked with drinks (not free), there's no room for me to store my own food/drinks if I have leftovers from a restaurant. Again, those are minor gripes in an overall great experience.

Dream's not a bad hotel by any means, but it focuses too much on being hip and cool, and not enough on basic, practical comforts. For instance, the fancy push button lighting controls are themselves so bright that I have to cover them with a pillow to sleep. Or, the bottom sheet on my mattress isn't fitted, meaning it doesn't stay put during the night while I'm trying to sleep. The A/C is great though. It's nice and cold, and super quiet.

We were there to celebrate a very special birthday and were a party of seven. The food was fabulous! Everyone enjoyed what they ordered However, the BIG disappointment and why I'm deducting a star is that Haven, where we were dining, is NOT ADA accessible!!! I'm surprised that such a lovely place, is not fully accessible by elevator. First, we had to take an elevator to the top floor, then we were directed to walk down two flights of outdoor metal steps. After dinner we had a choice to walk back up the steps or walk down two flights of internal steps, to an elevator. We did the later. Again, the food was great, but if you are someone with mobility issues this is NOT the venue for you. We spent over $500, and this was a special dinner, so this is a bit of a disappointment.

Would like to give more stars, but our one-night stay here was a disappointment. The dance "music" from the club several floors above our room was so loud that the walls in our room were actually throbbing. Made it absolutely impossible to sleep. My husband went down to the desk around 3 AM to complain and was told that the club would be closing at 4 AM. The throbbing actually went on till nearly 4:30!
It's certainly not unreasonable to expect a peaceful night's sleep at a hotel that charges upscale rates.
Good location in Chelsea close to eateries and entertainment, trendy decor.
Beds are a bit lumpy, but the room was spacious and clean. Air conditioning worked great on the first 90 degree day.
Pool area was a nice place to hang and have a drink.
Our stay at the Dream Midtown last year was a much better experience. Will not be staying at the downtown location again.

Nice hotel and staff. It was a bit too trendy for my taste. Our room had a concrete floor with a thin rug on it. The bed was low to the ground and felt like it has either old or cheap springs. They definitely worked hard to get trendy right and I'm sure it's great for most,i just wanted comfort.

Really pretty hotel with a beautiful lounge and rooftop bar and pool. The fact that it's such a night life destination does mean that there is some extra noise heard from the rooms at night, especially on weekends. While the bathrooms are a nice size, the rest of the room is a tad small with limited space to walk around the bed, and no where to store luggage and clothes.

It was a fair hotel stay. First, the negatives: the bedding was not very comfortable, and the sound system for the television was hooked to the bathroom, causing echos when watching TV. My shower curtain was not fully covering the shower. Positives: the staff was friendly and helpful. The coffee was good (great espresso!) The atmosphere felt perfect for New York nightlife. I did not try the bar, as I do not personally drink, but people that were going there seemed to enjoy it. It was a fairly good stay in all, though, I, personally, don't enjoy the nightlife atmosphere, I found it intriguing, and a nice change of pace for a hotel stay. I would recommend this to someone who is enjoying the nightlife with a loved one.

I've been to the Dream Downtown several times for drinks at their rooftop bar. They have some of the best views, being all the way west. Check in was very easy. Got an email and phone call ahead of check in to see if any additional items were needed. They hotel was very nice and very clean. The staff was very nice and helpful. Loved the cowhide print chairs in the dining room.

What an amazing experience. Willis was an EXCELLENT help! Not only is this hotel the definition of luxury, their staff is the most professional and kind that I've ever experienced in my travels. This was by far my best experience at any hotel. Rooms are absolutely gorgeous! Clean and the decoration is gorgeous. Thanks again to Willis and the young women that helped us out! Best Hotel in NYC.

PS. They have an awesome rooftop bar and it's so fun! Very wide demographic of people so it wasn't just younger people! Anyone can enjoy an experience at this luxurious hotel!

Perfect! Hotel is very cool, comfortable. Room size is what you'd expect in Manhattan, but they did a great job with the space and ambiance. Location is in the midst of the trendy Meatpacking district; perfect for a night out on the city. Stephanie at the front desk was extremely patient, accommodating and helpful. Can't wait to stay here again :)

The room is not comfortable, at all. Though fashionable, there's nothing really nice about the room. 1. No available room in the fridge 2. The chairs are spartan 3. The bed is rather stiff 4. Water in the tap are filled with chlorine and the tap is weird The good thing is the shower. It's really nice, with strong stream

Service is really nice, employees are kind. Room is clean and posh, but simple. I really like it.
I think price is a little bit up, but might be that is located in a really good place.

Also, I love the music and ambience of the lobby.

We have our company holiday party at Dream Downtown every year. The food is always on point - sliders, tacos, lobster bites. The staff is great. Bar service is always great. And the view is excellent from the 17th floor. 5 star.

Nice staff, good amenities, modern rooms.

Noise is a real issue, especially street noise. Get an interior--facing room if you can. Light switches in rooms are comically complicated, and I couldn't access the mini fridge (locked) to cool my own drinks. You can probably do better for the money elsewhere - the chique factor really isn't worth it unless you're there for the penthouse bar (which is nice!). As a hotel, it's just OK.

There are a slew of clubs in the Dream Downtown. I checked out two of them: The Electric Room, and PHD (rooftop bar). The Electric Room is downstairs and is an intimate and classy club. Cushy couches and seating in a dim lit club about 15 x 50ft. Exclusive enough to never feel over crowded and the clientele was full of eye candy. The drinks were well made and some of the strongest I've ever received at a bar in NYC. The music was varied but mostly hip hop. Up on the roof at PHD, was a more standard NYC rooftop club. The space was large with great views of the city and outdoor areas. The music was top 40, but some unexpectedly good mash-ups and remixes shaking it up. The drinks were pretty strong from the bar here as well, but the place was massively overcrowded, making it difficult to move around.

I'd say this hotel has a targeted audience--and that's not a bad thing if you're of that group. If you're looking for some fun and entertainment, hosted locally, this hotel's for you. But if you just need some peace and quiet the Maritime next door is probably better suited for you. NYC is just outside anyway. Dream downtown is very reminiscent of Vegas nights--good luck getting sleep. Otherwise, the hotel has good amenities and is very modern, which gets my vote. Mixed feelings all around.

The people working there are very friendly. The rooms are Exquisite, and designed very uniquely. I would stay here again and the pool area is especially nice. But the drinks are expensive for getting almost no alcohol.

VIEWS! VIEWS! VIEWS!

The best part of the dream downtown penthouse D had to be the views. You get the best views of the city all around. An amazing view of the Empire state building is amazing to see for a subset.

The food is also excellent. No choice is wrong with this menu. Enjoy it all.

No coffee makers in rooms! Not many outlets either. Hotel tries too hard to be trendy. Caters to a younger, night club going crowd so be prepared for scantily clad people hanging out all around the lobby. The set up is terrible, so navigating around people is difficult. I definitely wouldn't recommend it for someone with any physical impairments.

Very nice boutique hotel downtown. Lively lobby, a cool swimming pool and funky rooms with porthole windows.
My first time here but I'd definitely come back and/or recommend.

I've stayed both here and the nearby Gansevoort. Personally I prefer the rooms here at the Dream, but for the price paid I did feel there should be a coffee machine or kettle for making tea in the middle of the night with jetlag. During the week it's a calm place even with a top DJ playing, but come the weekend the bedrooms became party zones with pillow fights, loud music, drunk people rolling into each others rooms, so if you want to join then its a good place, but if you want some sleep before an early Sunday morning flight to UK, its probably better to move to an airport hotel.

It's a very hip hotel and perhaps tries a bit too hard to be hip. The rooms are a bit on the small side but they've definitely made an effort to decorate well. My biggest complaint was that we got charged like $9 a bottle for what we're pretty sure was tap water. Also the buttons on the elevators are a joke and rarely work well

Service has been good, beds are very comfortable, and the proximity to Chelsea market makes this a fun hotel. The rooms however are not well insulated so noise is an ongoing problem if you're sensitive to noise or a light sleeper.

Excellent location, nice and cool hotel.
I assume that because they are just in front of Google and Youtube offices they don't have a problem with occupancy and that is reflected in the quality of the service. Paying $500+ for a night and still have to call two o three times Each Day to get Ice to the room (they don't have Ice machines in the floor) its ridiculous.
