Great time at the embassy suites, the rooms were pretty big and fairly nice, the pool was great, and there was easy beach access. They serve free snacks and drinks from 5:30 to 7pm which was great. The food and drinks were all great, and we made good use of it. The only complaint I have is the bike path in front of the hotel, which is basically a scam. You rent a bike for an hour, but the path is probably 10 minutes worth or riding. Not recommended.

We ate the grill, pool side. Which is the saving grace of the grille. $17 fish and chips, which leads me to an expectation of wow and I got meh. The outside seating was very comfortable but I'm from Washington state and the lack of shade options was devastating to our group. We split between two tables to seek the shade. Sitting by the pool was entertaining to people watch and ponder stories.

This resort is the best resort in California. This will be my forever vacation resort. The rooms are spacious and lovely, the free breakfast is wonderful, the staff is great, the pool and hot tub is perfect, and the best part of it is the beach is right outside the gate. You do not need to even wear shoes out your door to the beach. There is a laundry room if you’re here for a while. There’s bicycles to rent. There AC but we kept our window and patio door open all night to feel the lovely cool air. I honestly can’t wait to come back.

Everything was Embassy Suites quality and great. They let locals in to enjoy the immenities with the paying guests. Met quite a few of them in the hot tub and in the happy hour line for the paying guests. That was the only difference between all the other locations that I have visited.

A nice resort hotel hidden in Oxnard. No hotel is perfect, the staff is nice. They need more food options and more staff. Nice rooms, spacious suites with two bathrooms.

Awesome view right outside the room. Sliding glass door opens up to a nice little patio with a table and chairs, which overlooks the board walk and the beach... Spotted an orca swimming by. The patio is Perfect for a nice cup of coffee in the morning. The Embassy Suites are great to bring your dog along on vacation. Lots of local dog walkers use the boardwalk.
The rooms are nice and big , and comfortable. I would definitely stay here again!

This might be the perfect family destination. 2 bathrooms in room and slept 6 comfortably. Walk to beach, great pool and spas. Mile drive to Toppers, a great pizza joint. Free breakfast was amazing. Beach was not crowded in the least. Poolside service was convenient

Absolutely one of the most beautiful hotels I have stayed in. Many gardens and waterfalls. Big balcony. Lots of seating in the two-room suite. Adequate buffet breakfast, but the made-to-order omelettes bumped it up a star. The room was gorgeous, as was the view, overlooking gardens and in the distance was the beach and ocean. Very clean, nicely appointed with a table big enough for six to eat and play games. The only negative in the room was the two mattresses on the king bed and the hideaway. The king bed was hard with zero give, and every movement moved the whole mattress sometimes disturbing the other sleeper even though we were a couple feet apart. The hideaway mattress was thin allowing the adult sleepers to feel every spring and bar. Both daughter's woke up complaining and sore. Didn't get down to the beach, but the view was beautiful. All-in-all, the hotel was beautiful in a gorgeous setting with clean rooms and hot breakfast. Definitely recommend it to vacationers. To the hotel, the mattresses need upgrading.

It used to be a very classy place. But now the restaurant is like eating at a Denney's. They took the night club out so there's no evening bar or music. There's kids everywhere and the separate spa used to be so relaxing. An adult getaway, but it's not adult's only anymore. Unless you plan on bringing the whole family. I would never go there again as a getaway vacation.

My Sister's children give her a Mother's Day at the beach. We had a lovely time. They have a free cocktail 2 hours from 5:30 to 7:30 for Guests. I did not try the restaurant/bar but they have room service. The cheesecake was good. Lot's of families. A lovely day/evening.

Room was big, clean and stocked with snacks. The daily breakfast is awesome, better than any other hotel I've been to by far. Two large spas and nice big pool. Love the direct beach access from the pool area. This is definitely my favorite hotel.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. It is a true resort property with everything you need right there. Our beach side suite allowed us to easily access and enjoy the beach. There are bicycle rentals on site so we took a spin one evening. The room was spacious and having two bathrooms made it easier to get ready in the morning and to wash up from the beach. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Awesome hotel resort. Place is huge with multiple buildings.. Needed a map to find my room. Loved the evening reception with free snacks and drinks. It was raining hard while we were there so the underground parking was much appreciated.

Nice hotel. Had a conference there. I would say it is a very nice place. The only odd thing was that they issued guests wrist bands that were neon colored and had to be worn for breakfast(you had to leave them on all week). That wouldn't have worked for me. Pretty unprofessional looking. Plus I found the person wearing a mail order badge standing at the breakfast entrance a complete joke. I literally laughed. I never went in there but a hotel guest (another person I was traveling with) told me about it. Other than that it was pretty nice and a clean area for a professional meeting. Food served at the event was 4/5.

I enjoyed our stay. We came on a Friday so it wouldn't be as crowded. I did the online check-in and that allows you to stop by the valet station outside and pick up your room keys without having to go inside. We had a double queen suite room resort view with 2 bathrooms in building 2 room 2304. At the end of the building you can see the ocean and from the side of the patio on the outside of the room. We didn't eat the snacks but took advantage of the offered adult beverages. Thumbs up. You are allowed two drinks per visit to the bar. The beach is beautiful and relaxing but very windy so bring a jacket or blanket to sit back and relax comfortably. The water is freezing so don't think it will be like a trip to Florida beaches. My girls thought the pull out couch mattress was comfortable. I wake up with back and neck pains normally but I slept comfortably in the bed and wanted to buy a couple of the pillows. They have made to order omeletts for the breakfast buffet along with pancakes, bacon, sausage, fried potatoes, cereals, oatmeal with a selection of topping, coffee, juice, etc. We had an enjoyable experience.

The resort was a beautiful get away! There was great views and access to the ocean, and even the resort views had a pleasant view of a well maintained facility. They were very attentive and reasonable, and the complimentary breakfast was generous. The included reception was a nice touch, and we very much enjoyed the bathing facilities. Would for sure return.

A very nice place. We participated in a wedding cerenony on the grass between the building and the beach and it was beautiful. It has comfortable and spacious rooms. Very good attention at the reception and in the dining rooms. Full breakfast with many options. The bar is very complete. Nice swimming pool for relaxing. If you prefer the sand, the beach is just a few steps from the hotel.

This is a great location to stay in Oxnard. The beach is just off the hotel property and was very clean.
The hotel property itself was very well maintained. There is under ground parking which is extra but worth it. There were always empty spots available.
The room was very clean and had 2 bathrooms with showers. These suites would easily fit 4 people if the hide-a-bed is used.
Breakfast was great, but crowded.
It is a short walk to a bar/grill on the harbor front.
If we are in Oxnard again, we will stay here for sure.

Was just there for our holiday party it was amazing. The venue is great. My only issue was that the bathrooms were not checked regularly while our event was going on. There was always a lack of tissue and messy wash area. Otherwise fantastic place.

I have stayed at this hotel numerous times. The location is great with easy access to the beach. I had a premium suite that comes with drinks/snacks that are refreshed daily. However upon arrival there were no drinks/snacks in the room and then they never refreshed them during my stay. They were quick to respond when I informed them there were no drinks/snacks in the room but I shouldn't have had to go through the trouble. Cell service inside the hotel is very spotty. Additionally I would like to see the managers reception moved back over to the main bar/restaurant area.

This place is amazing. We had a great room right on the ocean and hearing the waves crash made sleeping easy. Very nice pool (like a mini Vegas) with lots of amenities. Our room was huge with 2 bathrooms and was 600 square feet for around $200 per night. If we are ever in the area again we will definitely stay here.

Friendly staff and clean hotel literally on the beach. Very nice common areas with pools and hot tubs. Complimentary breakfast and drinks in the evening. Not a lot to complain about aside from the excessive $22/day parking fee. TVs are a bit dated. Otherwise, great option.

It was amazing experience. The hotel is right on the water, every morning I went running and watch dolphins swimming (yes dolphins!!). the breakfast was filling and I had a lot to choose from. The staff were kind and helped. The gym there is tiny but it worked for me. There is two hot pools there which were very fun.

Very fun resort. Our room was very big with an awesome view of the ocean, they have a free cocktail hour for guests which was fun! Plus the one site restaurant was excellent! Both my wife and I got the fish and chips and we're very impressed! Would stay here again if we're in the area.

Attended a conference at the hotel. The service was excellent, the location was out of a movie and the food was delicious. The parking was ample, but the receptionist didn't know that she couldn't take payment for our parking tickets, so getting out of the garage was a minor hurdle. Luckily, the garage attendant wanted us to have a pleasant experience! He took our tickets, on our honor because she didn't even mark them as paid, and let us leave.

Such a unique Embassy suites. Still all the kids but great pool and beautiful beach area. Not a lot of good restaurants around so not a foodie destination. I would say the only real complaint is they need more breakfast staff. The place is a madhouse, out of coffee and food on the line regularly. No one to clean tables, etc. If they solved that problem they would get 5 stars.

This is a resort right on a beautiful beach. Not your typical Embassey Suites, it feels like a very high end hotel. Beautiful grounds, public areas and pool.
The pool side bar was our favorite!

The location is perfect, the beach is gorgeous, the staff is very friendly - when you can track them down, as it is a VERY BUSY hotel (catering to families). The exterior of the hotel is beautiful with well kept grounds and pathways...safe location. It is probably the best hotel in the area. BUT, they appeared very understaffed (took us an hour to check in due to long lines & getting a waiter at dinner or at bar was near impossible. We opted to eat off-site because it was so busy (not relaxing). Very crowded hotel. We didn't dare step into the pool or the hot tub (never seen so many kids under the age of 10 in a pool /hot tub. Overall, I would stay there again...maybe just off season.

The Embassy Suites by Hilton at the Mandalay Beach in Oxnard is an amazing looking stop. But that's where the amazing aspect ends. Rooms are always oversold, as the manager explained, so a late check in due to being part of a wedding at the hotel will result in your room being given away. The rooms are slightly maintained, with chipped paint from the quick repainting jobs, and tiles that are still loose and wobbly. Getting a hold of the front desk is a chore, when you're put on forget when calling down. Don't expect any toiletries or service after 11pm. Most of the hotel staff that are customer facing also act entitled, so, beware. Come and stay for the atmosphere, but don't stay overnight.

Beautiful, quiet oceanfront property. Great for walks on the beach. Nice pool and two spas, although the spas could have been warmer. Nightly free drinks and snacks. Game room for kids. Good for families or as romantic getaway. Restaurant on site. Spacious suites. Have been here before and will come back again.

This is a beautiful location and a very nice property in all. The rooms are very spacious, have been updated, but still feel a tad dingy. Windows are dirty, which is a strange because the ocean view room are fabulous, and there is no screen door to keep out bugs. Can't say enough about the view! The pool area is spacious and nice. The hotel food is good, but service is very slow. Dinner 2 hours, and on two separate occasions there is no answer at the front desk. My experience at check in was great, but not everyone else in my party would agree (traveled with a large group). Bike rentals were great. Chair rentals are insanely expensive, so run to the local Walmart, Target, Costco and grab what you need. It'll end up costing less. I think with some TLC this could be an incredible resort.

I'm rating this solely on the amazing beach location, room size and experience with staff. Yes some areas of the hotel are a bit beach worn...and there were too many people at the manager cocktail thing. But our room is spacious and clean and the views from it are amazing.
We called ahead because we were bringing our son who is disabled and in a wheelchair. Even though we did online check-in...Leslie from the front desk offered to meet us in the garage with our room key, so we could avoid the long wait..and she would not even take a tip! You can't make up that kind of customer service.. because it comes from the heart. We plan to return every time we head south.

First the good - the hotel grounds, accommodations, and facilities are great. Pool area, beach access, family games, and the ocean views from the rooms were fantastic! Now the bad - Starting at check in it took is a total of five hours to get our room, they kept saying " just another hours and your room will be ready ". Getting anyone on the phone for guest service was a joke, after 30 minutes of trying every service extension we finally had to walk to the front desk to talk to anyone. Our room wasn't cleaned one day when we returned at 5:30pm, we couldn't get anyone on the phone again so we had to walk to the desk where we were told. ... " Sorry, we've been busy ". By 8:30pm still nobody to clean the room but they did drop off towels for us. The restaurant service was also horrible, we were seated quickly but then everyone disappeared; 15 minutes to get or drinks?! This place is not some $50 a night motel, at $350 a night you expect good service. My recommendations would be to terminate the management team and hire leaders that understand guest service

Spent two nights in a suite. The suite was fine overall but there were three of us and I had to sleep in the pull out sofa bed and it was extremely uncomfortable. They did address this by providing a pillow top for the second night. The hotel location is nice with easy access to a nice beach. Channel Islands National Park visitor center is close by and a great visit.

We are having a great time at this hotel. The complementary breakfast is fantastic. The ocean is right outside our room. The staff have been very helpful. Very good location, right on the sand. Free complimentary breakfast is excellent. Parking was expensive, this was the biggest downside. Our room was well-equipped and had 2 bathrooms, each with a shower which was convenient. Kind staff. Amazing heated pool and 2 beautiful spas for when it's too cold to swim in the ocean. Best hotel I've ever been to.

The location is not too central of the city, but if you're just on vacation, everything you need is nearby. It's right on the ocean, and it's gorgeous. The facility is very clean, as are the rooms. Our balcony overlooked the ocean, and it was a great view to drink some coffee to. The staff was very kind and helpful. There's a complementary breakfast in the morning and complementary drinks and snacks in the evening. I would recommend this resort to anyone staying in the area.

We have vacationed here several times and have had 5 star service every stay! Breakfast buffet, omelet chef, pool and hot tub, beach access and all the employees are always exceptional! Location was awesome! Service was great and so was complimentary breakfast! I can't forget to mention the evening complimentary drink reception. We loved it!!!!! Our Ocean front room was literally a 2 minute walk and you're in the water. The beach was quiet and relaxing, not crawling with people. Pool and hot tub was very nice. All this awesomeness for the price was great. We will definitely visit Embassy Suites by Hilton Mandalay Beach again!

Dottie, the over night receptionist, was amazing! Wonderful customer service!! The hotel itself was okay. I gave it a four star because the pictures made everything seem a lot nicer and cleaner than it was. The bed was nice, but there was mold in the shower. I would stay here again, but I wouldn't have as high expectations. The breakfast however was really good and it is complimentary.

One of the best Embassy suites I have frequented. A wonderful blend of business class and vacation resort. I hesitate to share how much I loved this place as I would hope to keep it all to myself. The breakfast buffet was one of ES's better offerings. Truly a great property.

Amazing customer service! I stayed at this hotel on a work trip and decided to come back with my family for vacation. I made an error when booking my reservation. It ended up being an expensive error. When I called the front desk, Eddie helped me fix my mistake. He went above and beyond and guaranteed a return customer.
The location of the hotel is also amazing!

We checked in and they gave us the key. The room was not made out. They decided to move us to a different room and bathroom had a terrible view of the parking ramp and street. We asked to be moved back to the original room and they said it'd already been given to someone else. They said they were all sold out. We left for dinner and by the time we got back we had decided that since they couldn't move us to another room we would just leave. Staff was very courteous and the facility is great! The beach is soo nice and the resort area has pools, rocks and waterfalls. The rooms are fine but dated. Front desk wrote down some information for me to help us plan before our next visit.

I almost don't want to talk about how awesome this place is in fear that everyone will start overcrowding it and ruin the atmosphere, but this is truly a hidden gem! The resort is a beautiful, peaceful getaway on the beach with activities on the property and a great vicinity to so much more. This is really close to being 'All Inclusive' with a complementary breakfast in the morning and a free happy hour in the evening. That definitely won't be my last trip here!

Very nice resort with ocean views and awesome resort views! Planned on staying 2 night ended up staying another. Had to change rooms but that was breeze to make. Will definitely return! The rooms are large and clean. It's off the beaten path but located between Santa Barbara and Los Angeles. Several restaurants and bars close by. Locals are friendly. Beautiful place for a decent price.

Had a good reason to spend the night in the area, so my family and I decided to go for it. Place had fair reviews, but the Embassy Suites brand always gets you a nice room and a great breakfast, so we went for it. The room was $179 on a Saturday night, and the annoying call center lady wasn't budging on price: AAA got us nowhere at all. On top of that was a $18 self park fee, which there's no real way around, as the place is kind of out there all on its own. The grounds and room itself were nice. Some small maintenance issues, but since we were traveling with our kiddo, the two rooms were nice, each with its own bathroom. Pool and breakfast areas the morning after were both great. Would stay again, despite the hefty price tag.

I've stayed at Embassy Suites for years, from San Diego to Miami and a number of destinations in between. Oxnard (of all places) is the friendliest, best run and effectively managed properties in their chain. Quite frankly, it rivals boutique luxury properties in terms of attentive, knowledgeable staff and overall customer service. It's actually kind of comical watching them try to offer 5 star service when they clearly don't have the resources. I'm a regular business traveler so I take advantage of as many amenities to lighten my burden, such as valet and bellman service. I didn't even think twice as I called for a bellman and remembered they don't technically offer the service when a member of their parking staff showed up to my room and helped me pack up. The most interesting part of that is, parking is actually provided by a third party contract, hence the person isn't even a property employee. That must be some strong leadership team to influence even their vendors. Bravo Embassy Suites. I can give you 4-5 more examples, but you'll have to check them out for yourself. Just don't try to value at 3am. It's not staffed so I had to sneak my car into the valet area myself. Good thing was I got to keep my keys.

And special thank you to the front desk staff for politely knocking on our door to politely ask me if I was considering another night's stay (since it was 1pm and I missed even my Hhonor's late checkout grace period.

Class act team. I'll be back next time in the area.

One of my wife and my favorite escapes in southern California. Incredibly friendly staff, gorgeous grounds and tasteful rooms. Reasonable rates for rooms that either open to the beach or a balcony that overlooks the beach. Great breakfast, a full service bar, and great dining mean you really don't have to leave the grounds. During off season, chances of getting a presidential suite upgrade to up significantly. We love it here, and look for reasons to skip turn and stay a day or two every couple months.

Great staff, exceptional views. Hilton provides the best value for the money. The salt life, especially on the water, is not easy to maintain.

Fantastic location with the amenities expected from an Embassy Suites. Made to order breakfast was quick and exceptionally made. Visited afternoon reception 1 time and was as expected. At the bar there were several quality beers and the Moscow Mules were great. Staff was very respectful, and the facilities were clean.

The two nights we had to stay were too short. The view from our room was stunning. The room was comfortable and clean. The staff was perfect. Friendly and warm. We stayed in building six room 202. We had dinner at the bar and it was delicious, the pool and hot tub were great. It honestly felt like everyone was celebrating with us. I will absolutely recommend this to anyone.

An incredible experience. Embassy Suites maintains a high quality complimentary breakfast, beautiful ground, and an incredible view/access to the beach. The center garden and pool area was also fantastic. Breakfast includes an omelette bar and amazing customer service. Overall a great place to stay at and explore.

So there are positives and negatives to this place, but IMO the positives outweigh the negatives.
positives: beach access, beautiful property, friendly staff, decent food for room service etc., room size, happy hour is popular and fun, locale in relation to things to do and stores, did I already mention - BEACH ACCESS?
negatives: the parking is a little bizarre and inconvenient but worse for if you have someone visiting you there, the walls seem a little thin, that decent room service I mentioned earlier? It is WAY overpriced.
I would never order food here again, and I might try staying on another floor next time to see if sound is minimized. Other than that, it's not all that bad. I did enjoy the room enough when I was there, and I REALLY enjoyed walking out on the paths along the beach even more. When I'm stressed and traveling for work, this place is a wonderful respite from it all.

Front desk staff was fantastic. Really appreciated the text messaging service.
Ordered dinner in the restaurant one night, and room service the 2nd night. The food and service were excellent both times. The complimentary breakfast was what I would describe as "very passable"; edible but not great.
Both the hot tubs were quite nice. Didn't go in the pool. The hallway by our room smelled a little musty, but the room smelled fine. Cell service in the room wasn't great, but there's not much the hotel can do about that. The room itself was spectacular. Lots of space, and a very comfortable bed. On the last day the TV service went out. That wasn't a huge deal, we didn't go there to watch TV.
I will definitely be back next time I'm in the area.

The drink were reasonably priced. The bar tender and servers were polite and helpful. The kitchen seemed to be a little chaotic though.

Hotel was very nice. Rooms are spacious and clean. Having a bedroom and kitchenette is very nice. Property is very beautiful and lots of amenities... Not too big where you get lost but plenty of space. Loved the pool area and the continental breakfast was great and organized.

One of the best beach locations for a wedding. Amazing beach views, especially if you get the room that overlooks the ceremony site. Cool breezes and a nice grass location right in front of the beach. Their ballrooms have different sizes based on the party size which is nice. The lobby is beautiful for pictures when you aren't on the beach. Also a manager reception for guest staying at the hotel provides free drinks and snacks. None of your guests have an excuse to leave the party when they are staying at the hotel.

No cell service in the room so they charge for wifi, everything else was nice, but c'mon it's almost 2016, wifi shouldn't be 20 bucks a day

The room was clean and the hotel amenities were nice , Pricing was reasonable . Staff was courteous but when I addressed a concern to manager on duty about a leak from an a/c that I subsequently slipped on and had no follow up for our whole stay I was very displeased. We have a handicap child and had he slipped it would have been much worse. Our stay was nice but the lack of quality customer service and never receiving a follow up is just unprofessional . My wife loves this establishment and we have at least 8 more trips planned to the area . Since she will probably still want to stay here I hope that management can put a system in place to ensure quality customer service and prompt response to safety concerns .

Wonderful family vacation! My family and I stayed here for 5 nights and had a blast. It had a GREAT location and it was one of the better breakfasts that I have had at an Embassy Suites. The hotel is definitely old and in need of some updating but that said it didn't feel as dirty as it probably should have, given it's vicinity to the beach. It was quite loud at times but the staff was super friendly and moved us to a quieter room without problem. All in all a very memorable vacation. If it hadn't been for the fact that it could have been slightly cleaner and that it was a little noisy I would have given it 5 stars. if it hadn't have been for the fact that it could have been slightly cleaner and that it was a little noisy I would have given it 5 stars.
