I received nothing but the best service from the staff. A definite 10 from me.

A few high points to note:

While this was a business trip I am also a frequent leisure traveler and this is the first time I’ve seen a property owner provide lifeguard service at the pool. As a father, I appreciate that the safety of my children would be a concern at this property.

I appreciate the attention to detail from the team with the “value add services” of the included breakfast and evening reception. These are points that other properties can skimp on but this team did not. There was plenty of staff and support during these times.

The shuttle team is very accommodating and helpful and was much appreciated for my “commute“ to and from my nearby office.

Top notch service overall. I will definitely return.

Very nice hotel and in a very convenient location. The hotel offers shuttle service to Dulles. The first shuttles leaves at 5:30 a.m. It only takes about 10 minutes to get from the hotel to the airport. The driver was very nice and helpful. He gave his phone number for us to call when we returned to the airport. On another note, this hotel has swans living in the fountains in the lobby. Didn’t expect that. The evening reception was pretty nice. Breakfast here is much better than at other hotels. There are several made to order options that you can have made for you. Certainly worth the price of the hotel.

I love the place overall! The staff is friendly and helpful, which is always a good thing after a long drive! They have a couple of swans in the middle of of the lobby, lovely view, the little bites menu at the bar is good if you don't want a big meal, in my opinion is good for three people.
The rooms are comfortable, I love their pillows, I might have to buy me some.

The lobby looks like it's newly renovated, and has two swans named George and Martha. One of the best things about staying at an Embassy Suites is the breakfast, eggs cooked to order as part of the buffet. In the evening the manager's reception is a nice touch, they have beer and wine with food, this particular location had a much better selection, some just have chips and dip possibly with carrots, celery and dip, but here in addition they had a hot hor d'oeuvres.

It's very close to the airport and they have shuttle service every half hour. The suite was spacious and very comfortable. The lobby was very nice and the breakfast was delicious with fresh omelets at your choice. The staff was also friendly.

The hotel is really awesome, the room is large, it's all indoor so that helps as well! The elevator is glass, which is really interesting too, and the staff if excellent. I would love to stay here again, however, the swans in the lobby are really kept captive. In such a small pond, all for "brand". I know the GM will respond back and tell me how they're treated well, and they got them from a captive breeder. But isn't that the problem? You're buying the swans, so they'll keep selling and breeding them. It's truly sad, the staff says they go outside when they go to the vet, that's not really the life for an animal... I won't be able to support this establishment again because of the swans.

Such a bummer too, because the hotel is a great value.

This hotel is fantastic! My girls loved the swans in the lobby. The fitness center and pool area were great. Breakfast was really good with a large selection and they have free cocktails and snacks in the evening. The room was large with a kitchenette and a separate bedroom, great for our baby's pack and play! The decor is very modern. The staff is very friendly and helpful! Only issues are that the toilet felt loose and the sofa bed is super uncomfortable, but was fine for my 4 year old. =) Would absolutely stay here again!

This is one of best place's in HERNDON VA 20171. The people and staff are very supportive and are very prompt.
I would highly recommend staff (JOSE) / GABY to meet them in person - They are the best and remaining staff as well .

Coming to Restaurant - Valerie is good and has smiling face always & remaining are as good as she was.

Food and happy hour is always there from MONDAY through SUNDAY.

You can't get anything better then this place in HERNDON

It was aight.. We always stay the weekend for work and so far it's been a guarantee, Everytime, that our room keys will stop working after the first day, and then the replacements work fine the last 2 days.. No idea why.. it kinda sucks working a 16 hour day, getting to your room, then having to go downstairs and prove your not a terrorist to get the replacement, etc.. But that's the only bad thing I can really say about this place..

Unless you think about the swans, which I'm sure most people don't.. Think about it, what keeps the swans in the lobby from leaving that little pond or flying away? Did embassy break their legs and their wings? Maybe they starve them and only feed them just enough not to die, so they don't have the energy and will power? I suppose they could be well trained but I doubt it.. and when you look at them after reading this, you can see that they seem sad.. all they know in this world is each other.. 😥

We had an amazing weekend as a family at the Embassy Suites. The hotel was stunning, the breakfast was the best that you'll find at any hotel (literally everything you could possibly want, including made-to-order food like omelettes). The Manager's reception in the evenings were another bonus. The indoor heated pool & hot tub were fun for the kids & adults. They even have live swans that swim inside in a separate pool right in the center of the hotel! The staff was great & shuttled us to nearby locations like the Metro rail & Air & Space Museum. Our room was very spacious and fit our family just fine with a nice separate room for mom & dad. We couldn't imagine a better experience. We felt like we were living like lifestyles of the rich & famous!

Great hotel. The rooms were spacious and clean. They offered to reimburse my cab ride from IAD since they didn't have a shuttle running when I arrived bear midnight. Happy hour and breakfast were very good. Oh and they have their own swans in the lobby water feature. Very nice.

The hotel was very nice and the rooms were comfortable. I enjoyed my stay... It's kind of hard to get to... My uber driver got lost just trying to find it. It could have been more his fault but it would be nice for it to be easier to get to.

I've stayed hear at least 20 times. Love the staff. Nice social in the evening. Cook to order breakfast is great! The renovation was hard but the swans are back in the lobby so all is good. The dinner fare... meh. Just eat dinner somewhere else.

It is a beautiful hotel with great amenities. The only warning I have is that if you are in a wheelchair, the handicapped accessible room is literally (no exaggeration) the furthest room from the elevator. Also, the tub rooms have hand held sprayers, but only activated by pulling a tab that is out of reach of anyone who cannot stand up.

Great place to stay the night. Super close to the airport. The nightly reception and free breakfast are a nice treat. We ate at the restaurant and enjoyed our dinner even though the service was a bit slow. All the staff were wonderful and so polite. We would definitely stay there again if we are in the area. Oh, the swans in the atrium are a fun touch.

The swans in the atrium are cool, but one attacked my MIL. Breakfast was great, but they never brought extra towels we asked for. The rooms are fine. They will take you by shuttle to the metro station, which will get you pretty much anywhere you need to go.

This place has a beautiful lobby and nice hotel rooms. I've never seen a hotel with swans swimming on the first floor - which is a plus for uniqueness! Great free breakfast as well. A few complaints are that the room door slams, the restaurant service is slow, the shower faucet leaks, and the pull out bed on the couch is uncomfortable. Otherwise, it's a good hotel!

My family and I where returning from our mission trip in Honduras (04/23/17). After a long day of travel, with delays and long lines, we are very tired and only wanted to rest. We arrive at 10 am at the hotel pick up zone (2H) and supersized by the 48 degree weather, we didn't bring any jackets because it is April and the average temperatures in Honduras is 90 degrees. Nerveless we had to wait out in the cold. 10:15 our shuttle was scheduled to arrive (Holiday Inn Dulles Airport) and we waited a 10 more minutes and at 10:20 the shuttle for your hotel arrived. The driver (Jose Maria) asked us how are we, and we responded "tire and cold". Then he asked us what shuttle we are waiting for and we told him. He said that the shuttle might be longer because of traffic. With no else at the stop Jose Maria offered to take us in to the Holiday Inn . I was very surprised that he offered being from a competitive hotel. I myself work in hospitality. He immediately proceeded to store our bags into the vehicle and said to wait inside in the warmth of the shuttle. Jose Maria's compassion for my family need to be known. Especially after all the crazy hoopla that it is going on with the airlines and guest service. But Jose Maria truly represent the Hilton brand core values. His hospitality went beyond a brand, his integrity was above all when he kindly refused my tip. He took ownership of our situation regardless of our accommodations choice. I am very happy to have met Jose Maria and his amazing service. He is a true asset to your hotel.

For business and personal travel, I stayed at three different Embassy Suites in addition to four other hotels over the course of one month. This was a trip for personal travel on 09 APR 2017. The exterior of the hotel looks nice and the lobby area is relatively clean in appearance. The pool is in good working order. Unfortunately, in many other critical areas such as having all required mattresses in the room, maintaining air conditioning units, and actually having food at breakfast, this hotel missed the mark and was by far my worst stay of the seven and worst I have ever had at an Embassy Suites.
I had checked in via the HHonors app prior to arrival and stated that my arrival time would be 3 PM. Upon arrival, our room was not yet ready. The desk representative did a good job of finding us a room (507) that was available and was supposedly ready. When we reached our room, we began setting it up for that night. Upon pulling the cushions off of the sofa, there was no mattress on the sofa bed. Interesting, since the housekeeping staff supposedly made that bed as well. We immediately reported this to the front desk at approximately 330. Upon return to our room at 8 PM, the sofa mattress had still not been replaced. 30 minutes later, the gentleman at the front desk along with one of the housekeeping staff brought in a sofa mattress.
As we settled in for the night, we heard an extremely loud and high pitched whine coming from the air conditioning system that would persist for in excess of one minute before subsiding to a slightly quieter but still annoying wine. Because it was late and we wanted our children in bed, we elected to cool the room off to meet our needs and turn off the air conditioner for the remainder of the night. It was then that we realized the insufficient soundproofing of the rooms as we got to listen to the full conversation of the teenage boys staying in the room next-door for the next 30 minutes.
The rooms themselves are small and rather dank and dingy and need updating. In the tiny bathroom there were spots of mold and the wallpaper, yes wallpaper, was peeling from the walls. Not your typical standard for Hilton brand hotels.
But at least we had the embassy breakfast to look forward to...or not. We were disappointed to find them out of just about everything a full hour prior to the end of Breakfast. Yes, staff was still restocking the breakfast counter but at a slow pace and with perhaps half the number of people that should have been working on the effort. This was a Monday morning with a hotel that was fully booked more than four days prior to our stay and the crowd should not have come as a surprise to the staff. Still, only one person was working the made-to-order breakfast counter and while he was doing a good job, he had a line that exceeded 25 minutes. We were told by multiple staff that the hotel was completely out of juice only to find the juice machine start working again 20 minutes later after we got our cups of juice-colored water. There was no hot water available for tea and the staff was in such a rush to make the food that they put out an entire tray of relatively uncooked bacon.
Upon checkout, I dutifully notified the front desk of all of the above listed problems in order to give them the opportunity to remedy the situation in their hotel. I did not ask for any compensation but was offered "a bunch of Hilton honors points" which I have yet to see now five days after the stay. The gentleman at the front desk seemed to listen to my concerns although he did not write down any of them and did not seem surprised by my complaints. My suspicion is that my stay was not unusual in this hotel.
My recommendation is to avoid this hotel as there are many other good options in the local area.

Great hotel! We just stayed there on 2/18/17-2/19/17. The rooms were very nice! It looked like a brand new hotel inside the place! I also loved the swans! George and Martha are great in this place! I also liked the staff, they're very nice. Plus, there was some problems at this hotel at the same time when I'm enjoying it. One of the problems was the food service. When I was ordering food the waiter told me, "Oh, sorry! I'm so sorry! We have no system! You can't order anything!" What do you mean "no system"? I don't get it. There was also another issue during breakfast. The same waiter said, "There's eggs in the lid." But, there was nothing there! Then, they said "Sorry, we ran out of food!" How can you run out food? Those were the only major issues in the hotel. Overall, this place is still great to stay!

I was only there for a little while and the place was nice. The one thing that stuck out in my mind...was the glass elevator...and how nasty and unclean the viewing glass was! It was quite a surprise because evening else seemed clean and tidy, but that elevator and the encasing glass structure was filthy and stuck out like a sore thumb.

The staff here are incredibly friendly and helpful. I stayed here with my family of four. The staff were able to accommodate my request for two adjoining suites and discounted the second room. Very impressed with this Embassy Suites. Everyone was very nice. It was very clean. The atrium and hotel interior was very pretty. This hotel has a pair of swans that swim in the fountain area. The cook to order breakfast was a great perk. I have stayed at other Embassy Suites and this one impressed me.

What I love about this hotel is the space. The central atrium with the gardens and swans really sets the tone. Then the rooms are suites...more room than you might expect. The full complementary breakfast has the usual offerings, plus a make-to-order omelette chef. They have bothered to pay attention to the art and have the somewhat cliche but expected odes to classical historical figures. Add to this a nicely-appointed gym and indoor pool and you have the makings for a home away from home.

Great hotel. I stayed here on a recent trip to Washington, DC. It's a good hike from the downtown / National Mall area, but if you have a car... it's not all that bad. Prices were reasonable.

The breakfast available to guests in the morning is one of the best I've seen at any hotel I've stayed at. There's a selection of foods that you can get yourself (cereal, toast, fruit, yogurt, coffee, juice, etc.). But, there's also a cook that will prepare a hot meal for you - pancakes, eggs, bacon, etc.

Parking is free and there's plenty available.

There are a few restaurants in the area that will deliver. Ask at the front desk for some recommendations.

I have no idea why this hotel has any negative reviews. Breakfast bar was great, room was great with all the updated features you can think of.

I had one minor issue with check-in which was corrected almost instantly.

Staff, servers, room service and lifeguard are extremely inviting/friendly.

Hotel is very decorative throughout and kept very clean. I will definitely be returning in the future.
