ISO 14001

ISO 14001 is an internationally accepted standard that outlines how to put an effective environmental management system in place. It is designed to help businesses remain commercially successful without overlooking environmental responsibilities, such as:

• Improve their environmental performance constantly
• Comply with local and national regulations and other requirements subscribed
• Prevent water, air and ground pollution hazards
• Control and optimise water and energy consumption
• Promote waste recycling and recovery
• Raise environmental awareness among employees and train them to adopt good practices in their activity

ISO 50001 provides a framework of requirements for organizations to:
- Develop a policy for more efficient use of energy
- Fix targets and objectives to meet the policy
- Use data to better understand and make decisions about energy use
- Measure the results
- Review how well the policy works, and
- Continually improve energy management.

Great Hotel and Staff. Amazing Happy Hour... almost worth a visit just for that! The rooms seem to have a lot of "cigarette smoking" smells. Seems guests have been smoking in literally all the rooms. Odd actually, and noticeable... more than ever... you'd think it was smoking rooms only.

The place was great. The rooms were clean and neat, and the beds were a whole other level. They were super comfy. The room for the event I attended was also clean and was a great place for a event. Overall, this is the hotel to go to if you want to have an event

Nice hotel facilities but lacking management.

The management does not provide more than one person at the front desk per shift and we waited for 30 minutes for a shuttle that did not arrive that we had scheduled two hours before.

For breakfast there were maybe 10 tables for a hotel that can hold 500+. The management is more worried about a buck coming from weddings, trade shows or church services rather than actually taking care of hotel guests.

We will not be back until management is replaced or fixes the many issues they have.

Nothing to complain about it's just a smaller Embassy Suites with not much around it within walking distance. Convenient to highways. $100 a night cheaper than at the airport.

Love the decor of the lobby. The suites are quite spacious and the service is commendable. Apart from the awesome breakfast they also serve a complimentary hi tea with a wide choice of snacks and beverages. The breakfast has an added attraction. They serve customized omelettes. The place has a positive vibe. Loved the internal pool area and of xourse the sauna tub.

I called to see whether we could check in early to our reservation. Not only was I not able to check in early but they told me that THE ROOM I PAID FOR AND RESERVED ON THEIR SITE was not available. They had given it to a group which came in the night prior! They were sorry but they did not have a 2 queen reservation but they would be happy to move hotels and put me in a different hotel. I was coming for a family wedding and we wanted to be with our family. To be told that we were being moved to a different hotel with different breakfast and different rooms because they gave away our room was NOT acceptable. What is the point of a reservation? I spoke to the "manager" who was not convinced that she was the manager. She told me there was nothing that she could do but she would try. I insisted that she would find a room or have a bad review online. Miraculously, they found a room for me. However, the experience left a bad taste in my mouth and I'm not sure I would trust future reservations because of this mix up. Other guests in the wedding party were also dissatisfied with customer service from the front desk. They should honor a reservation commitments and not stress out the guests. Once checked in, the experience was as nice as Embassy usually is, room was clean and breakfast was great. So really it was the booking and customer service which left something to be desired. Value was good and atrium was pretty.

Went here for a professional class in the conference rooms. Was a little chilly in there but the coffee they provided helped. Were also generous with getting extra coffee in the breakfast area even though we were just there for the conference rooms. There is a side entrance for the conference rooms right around the corner from the main entrance if you want to park a little closer.

The hotel was clean, and the rooms were decent size. Plenty of space. As for the continental breakfast it was good - but we checked out before heading over there, and it would have been nice to know the omelette station was going to badger us for a room key for her to look at. We literally checked out, threw the bags in the trunk and went back in to grab some food, and had to go back to the desk to get a deactivated key to get an omelette. This was absurd.

All was very good with fast courteous check in. The only negatives were, Lobby fountain/ water feature empty and the Lower glass panel in the glass elevator was shattered. Not a good first impression, but things happen and repairs need to be made at some time and I’m sure they are working on it. The rest of our stay was great. Welcome reception, indoor pool, hot tub, Cooked to order eggs and other regular breakfast items where all utilized and much appreciated. Check out was very smooth and efficient. Would recommend a stay if in the area.

Location is very close to a mall and walking distance from several eateries. I had requested a no smoking room but the room had been recently smoked in and you can tell that smoking had occurred over many days. However, the staff immediately found another room for me and I was very pleased that I did not have to wait despite the fact that the hotel was pretty occupied. I was disappointed that I was able to check in through my mobile app but could not use the cardless feature. When I presented myself at the desk to get my card it was treated as a check-in so I was charged twice for my room. Again, the staff was very helpful in taking care of this matter in a timely manner.

My husband and I reserved a block of rooms at this hotel during our wedding weekend for all our guests and couldn't have been more pleased. All of our guests were very happy with their rooms and loved the complementary breakfast in the morning. The hotel event coordinator Whitney was amazing. She answered all my emails in a timely fashion and called me when needed to confirm certian wedding weekend details. She did anything she could to ensure my guests and myself & husband were happy! The shuttles were on time to take and pickup my guests from the venue. Highly recommend this hotel!

We had a wonderful stay at this Embassy Suites location!! The room was very comfortable and clean and we were very excited that we got a room on the 3rd floor that was immediately beside the stairs (which came out right by the pool!) Our kids had a blast playing in the pool, but the hot tub was barely warmer than the pool. I called the front desk from the pool phone and they immediately sent maintenance who was there within minutes to look at the issue. He was not able to fully resolve it for me, but he spent a lot of time and effort to accommodate my request and was able to make it slightly warmer. I just appreciated the effort that they put in to fix it and that gets an A+ in my book! The breakfast was WONDERFUL with so many delicious choices and we were completely blown away by the happy hour (which we certainly enjoyed!) We ordered pizza in our room one night and needed paper plates and the front desk staff did not have any, but said that we were welcome to get real plates from the restaurant, who kindly provided them. Great customer service! The staff was very friendly and helpful and our stay was very enjoyable (despite being in town for a family funeral). Will definitely stay here again if we are ever in the area! *Disclaimer* We would have given it a 5 star rating if the hot tub in the pool area was functioning properly, but (as I mentioned) they did get an A+ for effort in attempting to fix it. :)

Not a bad place to stay outside DC. Good breakfast and nice people. Don't stay on 2nd floor, they had a wild bass pumping party on the first floor until 10pm one night. We had a good stay though and there are many restaurants nearby.

The service personnel were all very polite and helpful. The premises were clean. There was very little noise. The bed was reasonably comfortable. Not excellent. The breakfast was poor. There was an odd taste to the eggs and the toaster somehow managed to scorch the outside of the bread black while leaving the inside mushy.

Large rooms but they are getting old.
I did not like much the bathroom as it looks old, the bathtub/shower is what I am mostly getting in USA so a bathtub not deep enough to take a bath, a shower that is stuck on the wall and you cannot take it in your hand to wash your feet for example and a curtain. Maybe it is like this in every hotel but I am personally not a fan.
The happy hour everyday is nice and the breakfast got some choice.
Staff is super friendly and there is a couple of restaurants next door.
Nice hotel to refresh a bit to make it good :)

This was a very nice embassy suite, much better than I would have expected. A group of colleagues were staying there and I met them for a meeting. All rooms faced the indoor area which was well decorated and goes up the entire height of the building. Also had water fountain area.

Pros: Convenient to the airport, though not that convenient to DC. Rooms seem older, but well-kept. The room is also very quiet. There breakfasts are easily the best I've had at a hotel, with a coin preparing made-to-order omelettes.

Cons: Reservation was messed up, so we had to switch rooms mud-stay. I'm pretty sure I left my glasses in the old room, (there are pictures of new with them the night before the switch, none since), and asked the front desk to check, and twice they haven't gotten back to me. I also told the desk about a maintenance issue in the second room that they said they would address, but did not.

Overall, I like the facility and breakfast, but the service has not been good.

Like all Embassy Suites, this hotel has an excellent combination of accomodations and amenities. I usually travel with my family and we find this Embassy to be dependably satisfying. This particular property is close to both Dulles Internarional and the developed shopping and commercial areas around the airport. Their outstanding feature is their hospiality and cordiality. The made-to-order full breakfast is of excellent quality, surprisingly so for their market segment.

I stay at the Embassy Suites when I am in the area for work. They have really improved the complementary breakfast. The Nutella french toast and smoothies are great. The rooms are large suites and nicely appointed. The gym is serviceable and the indoor pool is a nice workout option. For the price, Embassy Suites is really a steal.

I love Embassy Suites. In fact, it is the only place I stay nationally. However, this location left a lot to be desired in the service arena. (The room was fine)

From the way the morning breakfast is set up (e.g. one line for both made to order and buffet) to them literally not having enough pancakes AND french toast for everyone - literally running out of both. Since a start up church (which seemed like a pretty cool church btw) rents out two meeting facilities on each side of the breakfast area (one being the child-care and one being the adult church), I suspect that non-paying parishioners of the church may be eating the food. This could be alleviated by better rental space management, cordoning off the food area, and checking for food vouchers prior to entry. This would also alleviate those guests that are cramming two or three families in each guest suite as only two adult tickets per night would be issued.

No towels left in the pool area, front desk left unattended, poor responses given to customers etc. This to me speaks of a franchise owners management ability and/or the manager on duty being incapable or not allowed to manage properly.

Staffing in hotel industry can be foreseen by merely viewing the trends in hotel bookings. The excuse I hear in some other industries is "we are short employees." This too is part and parcel of good management. Are employees buying into the managers (or franchise owners) vision? Are employees properly led? Are they properly compensated and treated with respect when deserved and admonished properly also when deserved?

Bottom line is online reviews can make or break a service industry. It is much cheaper and easier to retain a customer than to find a new one. I would suggest looking to others in the same industry for hints on properly running an Embassy Suites.
