Great for families, suite was huge. Free breakfast is great, a few steps up from the typical "free hot breakfast" as they include made to order omelets. Happy hour for a free glass of wine too! Pack'n'playy slides through doorways so baby can nap in bedroom or entry. Awesome location next to voodoo donuts and a quick walk to the waterfront. Valet service is super convenient. Gift shop for last minute gifts or forgotten necessities.

Very central location. A beautiful classical style historic hotel. Spacious and well appointed suite and very very comfy beds. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Breakfast choice and quality were perfect. Can highly recommend.

This is the only hotel I will stay at in Portland. The gentlemen at the front desk (Pretty sure his name was Adrian) went ABOVE AND BEYOND to make our stay enjoyable. He really made our experience top tier.

We booked through a third party and there was a mistake on the third parties side. Nothing to do with Embassy Suites but this guy made it right even though he didn't have to.

This is hands down the best hotel in the city, thanks guys!

I'm going to start by saying I always enjoy staying at Embassy Suites. With that being said the parking at this one is expensive and not complementary. This one is located in the heart of downtown. Walking distance to pretty much anywhere you want to go. You can take a Lyft to just about anywhere else. The building is elegant. the rooms are spacious. And the standard amenities with the free drinks from 5 to 7 in the evening and free cooked-to-order breakfast in the mornings. Room service is only available 5:30 in the evening till 10:30 at night. But there are plenty of spots to eat nearby.

The location is great. When you stay here you are in the middle of it all. They provide a good breakfast everyday. The happy hour is also nice but does not have as much variety as other Embassy Suites. Room service is good and our food arrived quickly. The bathroom is small and they do not have a nice big bathtub. The bedroom and living room was a good size.

Top notch hotel in a top notch location. Near many restaurants and businesses nearby. Not far from public transport too. Lovely rooms. Appears to be recently updated. Delicious breakfast and comfortable evening snacks. Look forward to starting here again

This is for the events/catering side of this hotel! This is a joint review from Ben and Sonia, written by Sonia! We wanted to do a destination wedding, and chose Portland, Oregon. We worked very closely with Olivia and Anny (and their teams), who are just the loveliest, friendliest, most personable people you'll meet. There is a sense of genuineness about them instantly- they're both basically unicorns. They were both super professional, and they were excellent to work with for my complex Indian wedding! We had a few snags along the way, Olivia and Anny dealt with it like total champs! And we always laughed a lot in our conversations! To maintain that balance of uber-professionalism and that human connection is super hard (and we interviewed a LOT of people/vendors)- and we definitely found it with them. We had trepidation about having our very detailed, multi-day, cultural event there initially, but Olivia and Anny pulled through (with many many many many phone calls and emails of both sides outlining expectations and realities) with FLYING colors. Our events were so amazing- the food turned out fantastic (after feedback was given on how we wanted it), and it did not seem like "hotel food'- which is definitely a category! Our guests LOVED it all, and honestly, Ben and I were not an easy team to please :) So that's saying a lot that they knocked it out of the park! :) The venue was gorgeous, and the location was prime. Everyone who came had a wonderful time, and we couldn't have been more happy with Olivia, Anny, their teams and overall this particular hotel! Definitely recommend for an event! Love, Benji and Sonia

Only reason not 5 stars is because at first we were put in a small room with a terrible view looking directly into peoples rooms on the other side of the building. I was disappointed as we are gold members and stay a lot with Hilton. We called and they changed the room for us luckily. The second room was great a lot larger and good view of Portland. Hotel overall was really nicely renovated yet still has old school charm. Good location. The pool was awesome with 2 hot tubs and good breakfast included.

Nice location, convenient to everything. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Free beer during evening happy hour was a nice added touch and their breakfast bar is really nice. (Made-to-order omelets.) No complaints, really.

Location, GREAT. Services, GREAT. Cleanliness, PERFECT. And I have to say, the staff there makes all the difference in the world! The last couple times I've needed to be in Portland area I stayed here... This time it was for pleasure, just some shopping out of town. Stayed here again, and it was perfect. Business, pleasure, either way... I'll never stay anywhere else in Portland.

All of the staff was wonderful and helpful. No question was a bother to them. The suite we were in was clean and well put together. Valet was amazing when it came to needing to charge our car. Over all it was a great get away, we would definitely go back again.

Convenient location, clean rooms, friendly staff. In-suite service (food) doesn't start until 5:30PM each day, in case that's a problem for you. The breakfast included is good and includes an omelette station. They also host evening receptions for the guests but I'm not sure what they entail.

The location is great and easy to find. I was pleased that it was in an older, historical building. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The only thing I disliked was that the dining and pool areas were below ground and quite dark and crowded. There were also very long waits for the elevators. Our room was on the 7th floor but I frequently chose to take the stairs.

Nice place! Great atmosphere. They were great about letting us switch to another room on the other side of the building when an adjacent club started a four heavy-metal-band concert at 10p. The walls throbbed with violent bass, as did my head. Bad for business, Portland. I was surprised they didn't have noise restrictions and don't know how visitors dealt with that, but the hotel was very accommodating to us.

The Embassy Suites is a beautiful old building with original and authentic charm and finishes that are wonderful but also a distraction and hold the place back from its potential. The room was small and tight. The elevators were excruciatingly slow (we often opted to hike six flights of stairs over waiting for the elevator- and successfully beat the elevator!). The restaurant is in the sub basement and really feels dank and dingy (not sure why they don’t use the large empty room off the lobby). The pool was in the basement and really needed a facelift (fresh paint would have really made a difference).

Now for the upside - location is good. The breakfast isn’t bad with good choice and an omelette bar. The happy hour is a great option with free beer/wine/select well drink(s) and some snacks/bar food.

Overall the Embassy Suites is a nice place to stay but not an upgrade over other places in the area.

Very nice hotel. The staff at the front counter is mixed for quality. One woman at the front counter made sexual jokes to my coworkers and I that were subtle at first but very direct when we returned from dinner. Not a place for that at this nice hotel. The building is historical and beautiful. The food at breakfast was very good and the room was comfortable. Couldn't give 5 stars due to the rude behavior at the front desk.

This is our second time staying here. The hotel is beautiful and the rooms are very large! I love the free morning breakfast, definitely one of the best. They have everything you would find at a mix range buffet. Not just small continental pastries. There's also a pool and game room to keep the kids busy. We will continue up book here for our Portland trips.

This ES appears to be a restoration of an older hotel and there's a retro coolness about it. The lobby is very cool, lotsa space for sitting. The dining area looks like it used to be a club. All this adds character to ES. The rooms are great, spacious, modern, clean. The location is central to much of Portland proper so it was a better choice than ES the airport. Would definitely return!

Can't beat the location and value! Free snacks, drinks and breakfast was such a nice detail for our large family. Absolutely coming back!

Old fashioned hotel that still maintains the charm of the original hotel. Rooms are large suites that are comfortable and well equipped. Noise from the hallways can be a bit louder than expected but just close all bedroom doors and it will help. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Tons of kids in the lounge for breakfast and happy hour and very noisy. Food at lunch and happy hour is decent but aimed towards a family and not a business traveler.

Stayed at Embassy Suites hotels before in the past; however, I don't think Hilton was running them. This one was by far the nicest E.S. I've seen in a while. Breakfast is probably the best part. You go all the way to the bottom floor in the morning and it's just a huge banquet/buffet type breakfast. It was like a mini heaven 😂😅 if you're looking to stay in Portland a few nights, check out this place. Kinda pricey. But worth it.

We really enjoyed our stay! It's centrally located to shopping and restaurants, all within walking distance. There's a nightly complimentary happy hour with drinks and snacks in the restaurant. The breakfast had a super good spread with an omelet bar, hot foods (bacon, sausage, potatoes, panckaes and eggs) and your usual cold breakfast items like fruit, yogurt, cereal and assorted baked items. If you have a SUV and or larger vehicle with a box top, I would highly recommend using their valet. We'll definitely stay here again.

I love all of the Embassy Suites locations I have been to and this location was no different. The room I was in at this location was considerably larger than any of the other ones I've stayed at and the other locations seemed more modern and had been updated fairly recently while this one had a much older feeling to it. The breakfast was great and always my favorite part if staying at The Embassy. They by far have the best breakfast out of any hotel chain I have been to.

I've stayed here 4 times. The rooms are nice and spacious. However I didn't have hot water one morning. A nearby club is extremely loud into the morning hours and the old windows are not soundproof at all. I was also woken up to people screaming on the streets, from my 6th floor corner room. Avoid if you are a business traveller at all costs. I will not be back.

This hotel is located in the heart of downtown, central to just about anything you could want. Amazing dining, just a couple blocks from the train and shopping are around nearly every corner. The staff has been stellar. Absolutely 5 star in every way. Helpful, courteous and knowledgeable about the area and amenities. Clean, spacious rooms that feel very comfortable. The pool and gym are large and the entire hotel is clean and well kept. The breakfast and nightly reception were above and beyond my expectations. So much delicious food and spirits available! I brought my two young children and they were as happy as could be. We were a 20 minute train ride from Washington park, so we got to visit the zoo and the children's museum. Tomorrow we plan to go to the train museum! So much to see and within minutes of this hotel! Highly recommend staying here!

Stayed here one night. The staff was friendly but professional. The lobby is gorgeous and the suites are very spacious! We had 6 people in ours comfortably. Pullout sofa is not the best but not too bad as pullouts go. And the free breakfast was very good. The muffins were made from scratch!

My cousins and I stayed here this weekend and unfortunately my purse was stolen while I was out on the street close to a side entrance. I ran to the Bellman, Jon and he saw the young man who had stolen it and quickly called the police! I was so shook up, the staff had me sit inside, brought me water and chocolates. I was treated so well and the staff did an amazing job of calming me down. Even though this was a bad thing to have happened, the staff treated me like family! Very impressed and would recommend this particular Embassy Suites to anyone.. nice to be treated like I really did matter! Thank you to all who were there for me!

There's just something about this hotel that excites me every time we stay. From the moment we walk in through the front doors into that grand lobby, it just feels like a real hotel.

The beds are covered in plush bedding and the room service options are fantastic. I had a crab Louie salad here via room service that was better than most I've had on the coast. We ordered several things from the room service menu and everything is delicious.

I love the location.

So far, so good! It was a great trip. Sure wish it would rain, here, in Portland, like it's supposed to! The suite was comfortable enough, but the bed was slightly too soft for my tastes. The bathroom was not updated, so much... could definitely use some work. But I didn't visit to stay in the room.

Hotel is tired. Great location! Staff is great. Darren in the valet parking is a wealth of information and super friendly! We stayed in the queen queen suite. Huge room lovely bedding. My main complain is the bathroom. Really tired. One sink for a 650sq ft. Suite. No magnifying mirror. Tub clogged with hair so it was gross to shower. water stains on walls and toilet is very old.

We phoned to ask about room service as website said under construction. We were told room service was available. We were not told after 5? And menu was grilled cheese and soup options.

Parking was 45$ a day (unbelievable).
Two night stay was 689$ not worth it.

Stayed just a few nights ago. Seemed as though the room was trapped because everything you touched cut your limbs open. My friend went to open the fridge and cut open her hand. I went to get in the shower and stepped on a small sharp piece of glass. Blood all over the towels. Went to turn off the shower and apparently skimmed something sharp with my knuckle which started bleeding. Told the manager about stepping on glass and she gave us free parking. Scary my whole time in the hotel consisted of pain lol. The bed and pillows were comfy and the breakfast was great though!

I came by to visit a friend who is staying there for a few days. The lobby was well lit and clean. The staff was very welcoming and accommodating in their greeting. We had a great stay here. Loved the location in the middle of downtown, and they served some surprisingly good food at the complimentary breakfast buffet. The reception every evening with a free drink was a nice touch. Service was generally excellent (doormen, front desk, and housekeeping). There was a pleasant pool with a couple of hot tubs; my only disappointment was that the sauna did not get above 107 degrees Fahrenheit.

This is a beautiful hotel with very historical, and intricate architecture. Attention to detail is everywhere and all the amenities are high quality. We stayed in a beautiful suite and they gave us complimentary water bottles and chocolates when we arrived. The rooms are very clean and well put together and the staff are all very friendly. The only downside is the hotel only provides valet parking for $45/night. I would skip this and park in the garage directly across the street where it is only $3.50/night.

I really enjoyed my stay at Embassy suites in Portland.Very nice amenities! Great free breakfast and happy hour. I see a lot of reviews commenting on the homeless and people that beg. Yeah, you're in an urban city. There are homeless people here. You don't need to shame these people further, or judge Embassy suites on the issues they have no control over. Maybe get over yourselves, and have a little compassion for those less fortunate. After all, That's Portland's ideology. I LOVE PORTLAND!

We arrived in the pouring rain (it's Portland after all) and were greeted by a friendly staff. The check-in process was simple and the staff was "dog sitting" for a fellow guest. quite charming.
The hotel, though a bit dated in some ways, was well-appointed with lots of outlets for phone, computer charging, etc. The room was not over-crowded but had a comfy little sectional sofa that was much appreciated. The robes were roomy and tasteful and the complimentary umbrellas were most appreciated.

I attended a Gala event at the Embassy Suites for a professional organisation I'm a member of. The lobby of the hotel is very grand with ornate vintage decor and columns. I was very impressed when I walked in. The space we used was upstairs with two rooms. One room was the bar and the other room was all the tables. It was nice and private. The food was good. Pretty salty chicken but overall I enjoyed it. Bathrooms were close by. We had a successful event thanks to Embassy Suites.

The room was gorgeous. Since my job has had me travelling lately, its nice to stop in different cities. Good location. Friendly staff! Would stay again. A lot of these are walking distance which is super helpful when you don't have a car.

Great place! A grand entryway with attentive valets. The Internet was fast, and $14 a night. Free drinks during happy hour, plus meals included. Not a bad buffet, but it repeats itself probably to keep it free from, you know... Large group ready, corporate meeting rooms with a king-sized bed, in a loft, plus a fold away. The walls are not perfectly SP, but I slept well. The hot tubs need to be drained every day in a hotel this busy, or maybe it was... Also, the sauna did not heat past 100F. Would stay again.

My wife and I just discovered this gem. Being located right in the middle of everything in downtown Portland, it makes a great home base for on-foot exploration. Just a block or two to Voodoo Doughnuts, Portland City Grill, Kell's Irish Pub, and a ton of awesome food trucks, its location couldn't be better for getting your Portland hipster fix.

The staff is incredibly attentive and helpful. This historic hotel isn't the most posh by today's standards, but it definitely has a lot of class and charm. Our loft suite had a big conference table surrounded by six nice, high-back office chairs, so it is definitely business traveler friendly.

The front desk staff were very very nice. The free dinner and breakfast were very good and tasted awesome. However, the free alcohol made some of the adults on my floor very loud and rowdy all night. I couldn't get any sleep due to it. The hotel itself was gorgeous, Christmas decorations and marble everywhere.

The Embassy Suites by Hilton Portland Downtown is close to the riverfront, as well as a variety of restaurants, and several train stops. The staff was exceptionally courteous. The furnishings were all high end. The décor was extremely tasteful. The property was very clean and well cared for. I would gladly stay at this hotel every time I visited Portland.

This is a really nice hotel. Our suite is huge with beautiful views. The beds are comfy and the bathroom is large with lots of towels. The location is great too and the front desk was very nice when we checked in. But the best thing is the food! The omelet station at breakfast is wonderful but so are the huge bowls of fresh cut fruit. In the evening there is a free happy hour with an open bar and snack food - veggies, chips and salsa, cheese & crackers, etc. But tonight we discovered that the restaurant, the Portland Prime, has Happy Hour in their bar from 3 - 7 PM and a wide range of food choices are only $5! We had pizza, wings, salad...you can get burgers, spinach dip, etc. The food is good and so reasonable that we ate appetizer and decided to skip dinner. I highly recommend this beautiful hotel.

We loved the room. The pool and hot tubs were well maintained and relaxing.

The complementary drinks and snacks at night were good, though the bartender was practically begging for tips. He pushed down the money in the tip jar and moved it closer to the edge of the counter with every person he served. It all just reeked of desperation and rudeness. I get that it's expected, but his begging turned us off of dealing with him for the rest of the trip and to the hotel in general. Maybe they need to pay their staff better if he's so desperate.

The breakfast buffet is definitely the highlight of our stay. The made to order omelets were amazing and we had no problem tipping the chef. She was personable and friendly while cooking delicious food.

The breakfast was great and the room was lovely, but the pool was freezing and the hot tub was lukewarm. The actual price of the valet parking also didn't match what they posted online or in their info book in the room.

The central location in downtown Portland is nice. The beds, unfortunately, were not partucularly comfortable. The complimentary breakfast was better than most. The overnight parking seemed high at over $30 and I would recommend looking elsewhere nearby.

WiFi is NOT included unless you are an Hilton Honors member. In this day and age that seems ridiculous, especially at this price point.

Embassy Suites was the ideal location for our Portland visit. We wanted to explore the city on foot and by public transportation. The Hotel is downtown within two blocks of both sets of MAX light rail lines. This meant we were able to hop on the train at the airport and walk to the hotel.

The hotel's full breakfast each morning and cocktail reception each evening plus its proximity to the riverfront, Pioneer Square and the Pearl District make it a great choice for a Portland stay.

I'm writing because the staff went out of their way to help me find a $300+ pair of sunglasses! I still can't believe they found them....they made a real effort just based off one phone call. The hotel is already incredible and the staff made it even better. Thank you!

It's my first time in Portland, so I don't have anything to compare to this hotel. However, the location is within walking distance of a number of great restaurants and bars. The rooms are large and surprisingly quite for an inner-city hotel. The fitness "center" is small, but clean and cool (air conditioned). I was greeted promptly and while not requiring much in the way of service I found the staff friendly and attentive. It's also probably worth noting Voodooo Donuts is right around the corner.

Hands down the best embassy suits I have been to. The rooms were huge. The beer hour was great. Oh best breakfast to. Some German lady made me an omlet that was amazing.

Having never been to Portland before, this seems like a great spot to stay. River, restaurants, and shops all in easy walking distance. The hotel itself is great too, from the historic-feeling lobby to the very modern rooms. Plus, complimentary happy hour! Will stay again if I come back to Portland.

If any of you guys are looking for dirt cheap hotel deals I would check out HotelRaven. Com I saved a ton of money using that site.

We had terrific service and a huge, spacious room that was clean with new furnishings. The breakfasts had lots of plentiful choices. Helpful, friendly staff and a great location next to the riverfront make this hotel the best in downtown!
