- Measure the results
- Review how well the policy works, and

Interesting visit. We have stayed many times before and have had great experiences. They are in the middle of the remodel, which is great however, the outlets in our room didn't work. The solution was to not charge us for parking. Also we had animal droppings on our balcony which weren't ever cleaned. Overall we would not stay again if there were other options.

Horrible. We used to come here before they started renovating. We decided to try again since their website said all renovated rooms. When checking in the girl said only the top 2 floors got renovated. The entire bottom area is being renovated. Bar open till 11pm but people hang out way beyond that and gets very loud since the hotel is open and inside. Lots of kids and teens running and banging on doors or holding conversations in front of the livingroom. Then they are hiding and running from security. The entrance parking is runaway.

Hotel lobby was under construction, so entering and exiting was a pain. Given a smoking room that smelled terrible, had to go back to the front desk to change. Air-conditioning system was old and didn't work too well. No clothes iron in the room, had to call down to get one sent up. Staff was very helpful and friendly, though. Free breakfast had lots of options and was pretty nice.

We have stayed at many Embassy Suites in California and Arizona. This one was a struggle to stay at. I also understand that this hotel at the time was doing a remodel, but..... the valet staff was great. They treated us promptly and professionally. The front desk staff wanted to get you in and out of the office quickly and were somewhat helpful if not seeming bothered. The breakfast was mediocre and they staff was a bit rude at times. The manager reception was great, they bartender was very friendly and the drinks were good. The room on the other hand was the pits..... the furniture was very outdated, the bed was as hard as a rock and I felt terrible after trying to sleep (hello motrin), the sink in the bathroom was cracked, the tub faucet leaked and the shower curtain kept coming open because the rod was loose on the wall.

I don't think I will be staying at this hotel again if they can't these things taken care of and fixed.

I stayed here on a work trip. Overall it was a good experience. Breakfast was good and customer service was excellent there are things this hotel could improve. The room was spacious and clean. It is a little but old. I was happy that I didn't hear any noise from my neighbors. However, since my room faces 55, it was loud at night. I could hear the cars. They are quite stingy during their happy hours. Make sure you come down right at 5pm or the snacks will be gone. They do not refill their snacks.
In the future, if it's under per diem, I think I will stay with the other embassy Suites, which is closer to the airport.

I couldn't say one bad thing about this hotel. If I could give it 10 stars I would. Everything was above amazing including the staff. We didn't even use valet parking, but they were extremely nice as well. The breakfast was delicious and better than your average hotel breakfast. I have stayed in many hotel chains but I would have to say this place was the best by far. Keep up the good work Embassy ❤❤ you are now my Choice of hotel chains.

Due to renovations, I'm currently rating this hotel as 3 stars and the main reason is accessibility. Based on how the parking is setup and the current "lobby" location, it is really inconvenient to get in and out from the parking lot (unless you valet). I feel that during this time they should have temporarily moved valet parking so that it wasn't such an inconvenience. Everything else was great though. Clean, comfortable, spacious rooms. Complimentary breakfast buffet. Evening reception with free chips and fountain drinks. Pool area was nice also.

The rooms were a good size although a little bit it dark. The bed and pillows were amazingly comfortable. There was very little outside noise considering the construction. The breakfast and managers reception was very good and properly served.

Good location, close to Santa Ana airport. Perfect breakfast. Big rooms. Complementary alcohol drinks during "happy hours". Refrigerator and microwave in rooms. Pool and hot tub. Just one complain. All furniture is a bit old for Embassy Hilton chain.

Service has been fantastic. The lobby is under construction but that's a minor inconvenience. Rooms need to be the next renovation. The room that I stayed in the bathroom fan doesn't look like it's worked for a year and there's mold growing all over the place. The restaurant is under construction as well except for the kitchen, but the food taste like it came from Sam's Club and warmed up in a microwave.

It isn't nice by any stretch but still pretty clean for the most part. The breakfast is decent and extremely friendly staff. The property definitely is run down and old, but they mostly make up for it with service and location.

If you have ever stated in Embassy Suites before, the setup for this one is the same. You come out of your room to a big common area that overlooks the restaurant seating area. The room itself which is typical of an embassy suites is very nice. It has your bedroom and a separate seating area.

The reason for me giving it only three stars is that I have stayed at other Embassy Suites and I found this one to be at the bottom for a few reasons.

For those of you that have stated Embassy Suites before, you're aware that they have the manager welcome. For this you would normally be expecting some sort of appetizers along with the drinks. They actually only had some bits and bites along with salsa and chips. So that was a letdown itself.

The bartender seem to be in a not-so-friendly mood. And if you've read any of my other reviews you know that the staff is what makes or breaks ratings for me. He seemed to have a attitude of being bothered when you go up to get a drink. I found this a little strange considering I was the only one that seem to be tipping him every time I went to get a drink.

Because there wasn't anything to eat we ended up ordering pizza as a room service. It took awhile for it to arrive and when it did some of the toppings were burnt. We had one slice each and then I decided I deal with it in the morning.

Now we come to the breakfast. Again, anyone who has stayed at an Embassy Suites before knows that their breakfast is second to none. They have a cook to order omelet station along with pretty much everything else that you would want for breakfast.

So the only other thing that brought my rating down by 1 * is the fact that they want to charge $17 to park overnight. You would have to know the area to understand why this is a little bit cheesy to me. There is nothing else around the area. And Embassy Suites sits side by side and across the street with five other hotels. None of the other hotels charge for parking.

However, if you are used to that Embassy Suites standard with the exception of the night time manager welcome and you don't mind paying the extra $17 to stay there you will find this hotel suitable

The room was very nice, but we couldn't get the air conditioning to work. Apparently it's either hot or cold depending on the temperature outside, so you can't actually pick the thermostat temperature. Other than that, very nice stay, great location, and friendly staff.

I stayed here recently and had a disappointing experience. First of all, the tv's in the room constantly froze! Second, it took 15 minutes for the shower water to warm up to a luke warm temperature. Third, i am not a big fan of the hotel being in charge of the ac/heating system in every single room! I like to be in charge of my own room temperature. Finally, the bar was run down, bartender was rude and drinks were over poured. The only positive thing was the bed was really comfortable. I would suggest Hilton reevaluate this hotel and change the way they run a few of their operations. I've stayed at many other embassy Suites and this was by far the most disappointing.

This hotel used to be a family favorite. They have done a "remodel" and took out the inviting tropical atmosphere and replaced it with a "halfway" modern, cold feel. There used to be fish, turtles, waterfalls, and tropical plants in the atrium/breakfast area. Now you have happy hour in a run down restaurant. The rooms have been halfway remodeled, but the old fixtures and old doors remain. I am surprised Hilton approves the conditions of this hotel. Staff is friendly, and always have been. The hotel itself needs a lot of work to be "Hilton Standard".

Pros:
1.) Great Breakfast compared to competition.
2.) Comfortable beds.
3.) Big living spaces (suites).
4.) Cocktails from 530PM-730PM.

Negatives:
1.) Water was out for a full day.
2.) No hot water when I woke up. Had to shower cold.
3.) Dust collection, mold spots, hard water build-up indicates poor upkeep.
4.) Thermometer in room doesn't seem to do anything.

Result:
I encountered problems here that I'd expect to find at a No-Star Motel. Instead good money was paid for a poor experience. I don't plan to stay here again.

This is an awesome hotel in a great location. It's only about 10 minutes from Orange County airport. They have a shuttle service that runs between the hotel and the airport on an as needed basis. Bad thing is the shuttle service ends by 9:30 p.m. However the day that I was there, one of the valet went above and beyond and still brought me back from the airport even though it was past 9:30. Breakfast is awesome here too with the absolute best omelettes anywhere. Whenever I come to this area, I try to stay here.

Parking was a nightmare, but other than that the hotel was nice. Staff was friendly. Hotel was undergoing renovations, but it didn't affect my stay. Rooms were spacious. Bathtub faucet was leaking in our room. Location was good. Right off the 55 which was good since our actual destination was Disneyland.

This is a very nice hotel in a convenient location to highways, restaurants, etc. Room was clean, and comfortable. There were some negatives, but no deal breakers. The atrium was under construction, and will be awesome when done, the manager's reception consisted of just chips, chips and salsa, nothing exciting, and the free drinks... are definitely well drinks, and did not taste that good. Might want to stick with bottled beer and wine. But... It was free.

I stayed here for business, this was my second time in the same month. On my second stay I noticed the staff, who have always been friendly, started to remember me. In particular, there was this gentleman, his name is Oscar. Oscar Placed special attention to what my drink was and what I was having for diner. He would occasionally check on me and provided conversation, which as a lonely traveler, it was much appreciated. Ruben was awesome with his attention to detail as well. the young lady at the bar is super friendly and welcoming. Overall these group of strangers made me feel at home and as I am to return on business really soon, I will make sure to book my room here and I will look forward to see friendly faces such as Oscar, Ruben and Mariella. Thank you Embassy suites for making me feel at home away from home.

Despite the construction in the lobby area, my stay was undisturbed. The room and accommodations were quite nice, and I definitely would have made more use of them if I was there longer than a single night. I'll consider staying here again in the future.

Staff was friendly. Lobby was beautiful. Pool area was nice.

The key cards wouldn't work on the door about 9 out of 10 times. We asked the front desk to send someone up to check on the door lock because of it and no one ever came. Same with trying to use the key card at the parking gates to get in and out. The system was frustrating. During happy hour the food/snacks that were put out was gone early and never replenished. Both of the dressers in our room were crooked. We had to put brochures under the feet to keep the drawers from automatically opening constantly. The finishes in the room were old and beginning to come off. When checking out it took 45 minutes because I asked to split the bill (as I do every business trip). At first the guy at the counter said that wasn't possible and when I challenged him he decided to do it. Then it took nearly an hour to check out and he said it was because the system had just updated at 5:30 in the morning and wasn't working well. I stay at Embassy Suites when I travel and this one was clearly not to the level of any other Embassy Suites that I've ever stayed at.

Visited this place during the Labor day weekend. It's very crowded. The packing lot is always full when I come back late at night. Inside, there is construction in the atrium causing dusty the entire outside the rooms: the balcony, the elevator. Inside, the room have heavy odor and needed to update badly. The hotel was understaffed for the holiday weekend. As the results, breakfast lines were and many no place to sit. Hilton should do better job to inform customers about the hotel remodel when booking.

Awful, by Embassy Suites standards...

Whole place smelled like mold and sweat. Room are old and warn looking. Maintenance is non nonexistent (I kept complaining, but things did not get fixed, I was there the whole week). They charge for parking (other hotels in the area don't). and the lobby was under construction.

Lots of better hotels in the area, don't stay here.

Interestingly, this is the 1st time I have stayed at a Hilton property and not gotten a survey. They know this place is a dump.

The AC at Embassy Suites hotels is pure garbage. Literally the worst. Part of a hotel experience is bumping the AC at night and sleeping like a bear. The AC here is centrally controlled and unless the temp outside is like 80 they don't even turn it on. If you like sweating to death in your bed, this is the place. Also the bathrooms are tiny, lots of wasted space in the rooms that could go to bigger bathrooms. The saving grace for these hotels is the breakfast made to order and the staff at the desk were nice. This location is also smack in the hood, make sure to stay in the hotel at night because there are crazy tweakers outside. The complementary drink hour with snacks is pretty cool until you go back to your sweltering room.

The most comfortable bed and pillows I have ever slept on!! The room was cozy and I enjoyed the complimentary breakfast that was included in our hotel rate. Only downside was the tremendous amount of construction that was going on in the middle of the building. If self parking was full, the hotel will provide valet services at no additional cost. Will be back if we are in that area!

Start with the positives, the staff is friendly and helpful. Every staff member we came in contact with were awesome. The happy hour and breakfast in the mornings is nice and convienent. The rooms are clean and house keeping does a nice job. However, this particular embassy suites has issues. First off parking is a nightmare. The gates don't work very well and we always ended up calling the front to let us in. There isn't very much parking so that's kind of a problem. Now on the inside its older but they are trying to renovate it. Now some problems we experienced. The rooms have seen better days, the first room we were put in had a tub with a leak, and when they placed us in another room there was a big hole in our showers ceiling. You can also hear everything in the hotel. You can hear the traffic outside and if there are guest above you, you can hear every move they make. When it comes to the pool its not that nice but I suppose is fun for kids. The gym is okay with free weights and cardio machines. Realistically there is no shot we would stay here again, but that's not to say that all embassy suites are this bad.

Pretty nice hotel. I only had a brief business meeting but from what I could tell it Das fairly clean. Parking was a bit confusing though, that would be my biggest con. Other than that it's an adequate facility for business and family vacation purposes. Parking to be desired.

Made a late night check in and the evening staff was great. The hotel is being renovated and the rooms have been finished and are quite nice but the common area is boarded up. There were signs out about dust/noise that may be happening during the day but that was not an issue since I was only there at night. Just good to know if you are planning on daytime sleeping.

Disclaimer: I came here because I was going to work late and needed to sleep late into the morning, but there was a lot of road noise even though I was on the fifth floor. Not a big deal if you're going to be up early, but I wouldn't come here if I needed to sleep late. I would actually give this hotel a 3.5 because of this.

I agree that bathroom is a bit small, but room decor is nice, and the money you save on full breakfast is nice too when you're staying with several people. Overall it's another nice Embassy Suites, just be prepared to pay for it, they're not usually cheap.

The main courtyard is very cool, and I really liked the look ponds. The hotel itself was easy to navigate. The location makes it easy to find, and is conveniently next to the 55 freeway. The only thing that did not impress me was that the rooms seemed to need a bit of upgrading, especially with the bathtubs.

This is a gorgeous hotel with an incredible interior. The artificial rainforest that dominates the open thoroughfare is a marvel to look at, and I've had wonderful experiences at its restaurants in the past. The concierge is friendly, and the staff always gives me a polite nod as I pass. My only gripe is the paid parking, but they do validate for professional events, which is nice.

Spent four days here for a work related conference. Stayed at the hotel. As many other reviewers have mentioned, the lobby and atrium are absolutely gorgeous. A waterfall, stream with koi and nice ambiance. Repeating other reviews...the climate control is not controlled by the guest. Each evening I was forced to open my outside slider and the door to the hallway to cool off my room. Overnight it was too warm in the room. The first room I had (201) had a sloping floor. At first I thought I was losing my mind but verified it by setting a drink can on the floor and watching it roll from the wall to the center of the room. Felt like I was staying in the Winchester Mystery House! Friendly staff accommodated my request to switch rooms. The second room was clean and decent. Not much in the way of restaurants or stores within walking distance. On site restaurant and bar were good.

I was there for a professional even, but what I saw of the hotel, it was very visually pleasing. It had a feeling of calm and grandness that was particularly enjoyable. I did not like the fact that you have to pay so much for parking. I understand there isn't much parlking around the area, but the cost of parking is absurd, especially for someone who visited the hotel for a professional function rather than for vacation or fun.

Everything was pretty nice. The grounds are fantastic, with an indoor pond with fish and turtles. I guess, in reality, it looks like any embassy suites, but it's a very handy location. There was a large group of us staying for a weekend, and there were some negative comments, such as unripe fruit at breakfast and one room that was too warm the first night. Overall, my personal experience was fantastic, with great service and grounds. A good choice.

This hotel is a very nice retreat Hotel. The inside atrium was very special and unique. It has hosted happy hour for Honor members and hosted breakfast as well which had very good omelettes made to order. I love the koi ponds and all the little turtles in the water that runs throughout the atrium. The rooms are very nice and modern. The beds are comfortable and the room was cleaned. The bathroom is a little small but nothing to be unhappy about. The one thing I did not like is the very expensive parking. The rate during my stay was $17 a night per car which is really outrageous for the location. Otherwise, the staff was very pleasant check-in was very easy and I would definitely stay again but might take Uber...

Breakfast is great. In addition to cereals, pastries and buffet eggs there is an omelet bar where you can order your omelet with your own ingredients. Rooms were very clean and comfortable.

We had two issues with our stay. It was very cold at the time and apparently the hotel does not have heat. Strange, I know. We settled for extra blankets. The other was the valet parking: we checked out early due to an early flight and could not find our rental car (I had to find it). After 20 minutes I gave the keys to the desk for them to find. They found the car in time for us to make our flight. Not sure I would stay at that particular Embassy Suites again but I would consider others.

Great hotel...a little busy but if we are in the area there is a 99% chance that we will stay there again. Very clean and comfortable beds.

Overall good value. Hotel has neat decor. Room was fine, but bathroom was a bit small and not 100% clean. Only real complaint is the parking situation- not a lot of spots, most are tiny, and trying to exit the lot is frustrating.

Nice place!
Staff was friendly, rooms were clean. Beautiful lounge area and food was delicious. Inside pool just perfect in the winter, kids were happy. Parking is $15, I would rather pay $10, but overall 5 stars!
Thank you.

The hotel is very, very pretty. Though the rooms may show the tiniest bits of wear and tear, the service and experience of the hotel itself more than makes up for it.

Very convenient access to Orange County Airport. 2 room King suite is clean, bathroom a bit cramped, but there's a 2nd sink vanity outside the bathroom. Free breakfast is decent with made to order eggs any style, fresh fruits etc.

Ok. A bit older hotel. Some rooms are better than others. The one I got was older. No environmental control so the temperature they set it is what you get.

I preface this by saying I am nit-picking since there are better alternatives to the area, and overall I felt it was not to the standards I hold Hilton to.

They state that it was recently renovated, but the building itself is showing age. To sum it up, contemporary furniture you would expect slapped into a dated structure. Staff is amazing, very nice and very helpful. My biggest "complaint" is that they do not have air conditioning at all times - it is one of those old systems where if it falls between 'x' and 'y' it's either heat or A/C. That means it's "neutral" at 73 degrees with humid Orange County heat - I personally am a sub-70 degree guy so I've been uncomfortable.

Again, not horrible, but would recommend the Embassy Suites on Main Street in Irvine, CA a couple miles away

The room was very nice. There were two tvs in the room along with a bed and a pullout couch. A coffee maker was available with Three coffee packets and two tea packets. The central area was very nice with water features with fish and turtles. Overall a very nice hotel.

Rooms were very nice, modern and updated. Loved the glass elevator going up. The bottom for its beautiful with vegetation and ponds with koi. Beautiful looking larger hotel.

This hotel was great value, we plan on revisiting with our baby. There was a discount because of 'construction' and it's an older hotel, but the koi pond with waterfalls and turtles was really cool, it had a great atmosphere. To top our experience, Travelocity overbooked us for a day and we prepaid, and the manager agreed for a refund of one night. As I explain in my Forex book Splitting Pennies, inflation means the deterioration of quality as well as increase in prices. Considering the extra room with microwave, fridge, sofa, desk; free breakfast (with cooked to order omelette) happy hour with drinks & snacks, it was really a great value and great experience. If we stay in the OC again it will be here!

Rooms are nice. For some reason there appears to be a faux temperature control knob as it really doesn't do very much in our room. Also they charge for internet of useful speeds. Apparently it's 1998 and the internet is a perk.....

The hotel offered a large and comfortable suite--very clean and comfortable. A hot breakfast buffet is included. It was hard to secure a table, so factor the crowd into your timing. Service was friendly at this hotel--no complaints. The kids enjoyed the pool, which stayed open late-- a nice plus. My only quibble in an excellent stay: one of the elevators reeked of not-so-costly aftershave, as if a bottle had spilled on that carpet and no amount if industrial cleaning could erase that misfortune. The smell was strong and unwelcome. I hope the hotel can clean or replace the carpet effectively. Otherwise, great stay. Be advised that you will pay $15.00 for parking, even if you are a Hilton Honors member.

Complimentary breakfast is amazing. Staff was more than kind and helpful. Happy-hour with snack like ala carte nachos and veggies. Nice touch. The vending machine on the top floor was not working on my visit, but they ended up allowing me to choose from the from desk concessions. There was an ongoing theme of people who weren't staying at the hotel requesting my room key to participate in the breakfast when I would leave to work for the day. I mean, the breakfast is great! and complimentary. Except A) the timing wouldn't have worked out because i would need my key back. And 2nd) it was throwing me off that this person asking me was much more well dressed than myself but oddly twitchy. Either way I offered him a cigarette and suggested he simply walk in and confidently walk to the elevator and take it to the 3rd floor, exit the elevator, walk around the balcony get on the elevator on the opposite side, take it to the floor level, exit, and participate in a delicious breakfast. I don't think he considered my advice.......I don't think k any of them did.....

My husband and I stayed at Embassy Suites by Hilton Santa Ana on October 1 & 2, 2015. We appreciated the airport shuttle service. The breakfast was outstanding and the service was very good (Angela at the breakfast was a terrific help to me as I am disabled!).
The parking fee was waived for us, probably because we could not get a shuttle when we arrived at the airport so had to take a cab that evening.
Although the room could use renovation, it was still nice enough, comfortable and with amenities. The staff were pleasant and helpful.

We had an amazing stay at the Embassy Suites in Santa Ana. My husband and I just got married in California. Upon our arrive to California the alternator on our car went out, we worried about what to do with the car. We took out chances and just had it towed to the hotel because it was late and every other place we could think of was closed. The valet was kind and assisted us in finding a spot were the tow truck could get in and leave the car. upon check in the man at the desk gave us free parking, due to the occasion of our stay. Over the next few days we spent the day in the parking lot pulling out a car, they were very kind about this and offered any help and anything we needed. On top of all the car stuff the room was always very clean and well kept by the staff.....even after we went swimming and left sand all over the room. The breakfast is included and had a great selection of food and convenient hours of service. All the staff I interacted with were helpful and kind. Thank you Embassy Suites for making my crazy honey moon a great one!!! :)

I stayed at the Embassy Suites in Orange County Santa Ana in Q4 of 2014 and again in Q3 of 2015. I am still exploring for that perfect hotel that is priced right, a somewhat decent breakfast, safe, has free wifi, adequate and safe parking, not always booked up so I can make last minute reservations, and is located conveniently in this area. I still have work to do apparently... This hotel charges $15/day per parking and if you have a guest over, they also must pay for parking. I would expect that at a resort or a high-end luxury hotel, but not here in this locale... The self parking spaces are super tight although you can opt to have your parking validated for an additional expense. The Hhonors complimentary wifi has been crappy on both of my stays at this hotel although you can opt to pay $7/day for the premium and I am sure wifi connectivity would be perfectly fine. Or, if you have diamond level membership, you have access to free premium wifi. The check in process seemed a little slow but I could live with that. The complimentary breakfast is great. The quality of the room is ok with respect to room rate. The facilities are also nice. Overall, I would recommend other options than this hotel until they get cleaned up...
