Nicely made hotel. The central area is well done. The rooms are spacious and the complimentary drinks service in the evenings is awesome. Deducted one star because we asked for something from the front desk and it never came. So the service might be a little slow here. But overall a nice hotel.

Awesome hotel. Lots of space in the rooms, and the courtyard was huge! Amazing breakfast with lots of options. Pretty decent sized pool and hot tub. There's a small corner store in the lobby with lots of snacks and options. Even has a restaurant just off the lobby with lots of nice food options. In the middle of Saint Paul, so its extremely close to museums and the Arena. I personally am giving it a 4 star review, because of some small maintenance things in my room. The closet door was jammed and falling off the rollers, and a light was burnt out in the bathroom. Other than those small things, and amazing place to stay.

Good hotel with nice suites. Breakfast was included and was adequate. Received some free drinks for happy hour one night. Pool was nice, but they didn't have towels stocked when we used the pool one afternoon. Good location close to most of the places we wanted to go to. Overall, I recommend this hotel.

Nice, clean and close to plenty. Would stay here again. The breakfast and manager get together at the bar each night are pretty cool. My favorite thing is the duck couple in the open area of the lobby, so cute!

Great location downtown. Hotel was nice. Rooms were good for price. Reception and breakfast was very busy. Not enough seats for guests. Pool was cold. Elevators were slow.

Refurbishment is nice. You can tell they spent some money on the property.
It would be nice if more was invested in the staff and not at the expense of customers in the form of tipping.

I don't know if the cleaning crew is trying to supplement their income by making YouTube videos of irate customers or not but I found broken glass by the bed. Thankfully it was over an inch long and I could see it in the morning and I didn't step on it. Maybe the staff has a deal with the hospital up the street for a kickback?

Our family doesn't need the extra broken glass included with our stay.

We occasionally put our children up here when they come to visit. We live very close to here so it's convenient. This time in particular we booked reservations because our building has a scheduled power outage and we needed to stay somewhere. This was a very short notice reservation. Unfortunately, our building postponed the work, and I discovered that Embassy has a very unforgiving cancellation policy. We were not able to modify our reservation for a period two days later, so we ended up keeping the room that we didn't need. With that said, the hotel was well cared for. The staff were pleasant and our room was clean. We will have our children stay here in the future, but we will not use it for ourselves for short notice needs due to their inability or unwillingness to modify reservations. I do need a place for a couple of days due to the repair work at our home next week, but we're staying elsewhere in case there work is postponed again.

We came here for a wedding reception and not to spend the night. The hotel is beautiful but banquet rooms were very plain. The hotel staff seemed annoyed by the guests standing around while waiting for the reception area to open up. Once in the reception area the servers were very pleasant and accommodating. The food served was made well and did not come out dry and bland like I've experienced at most other wedding receptions. Overall a good experience.

One of the better properties in the metro area. The front desk staff is timely and respectful. The gym is decent and clean. The upper rooms have really cool rooms that go quite a ways. The breakfast set up is smooth and during the week the place is quiet and easy to move around in.

The rooms were pretty nice. They kept running out of food during the breakfast. They didn't have enough towels or wash cloths in the room. Most of the staff were cold and not very friendly. There were a few exceptions, including the security officer. He was awesome. But the layout and architecture were fantastic (some parts need fixing and better upkeep though, especially for this price). The fitness center was great. And the ducks in the atrium were a highlight.

One of the BEST hotels I've been to. Friendly staff, great social hour, wonderful breakfast made to order. The beds were incredibly comfortable! Bar was reasonably priced and the location couldn't be beat. The rooms were more like a small apartment with great amenities and the sleeping quarters could be closed off from the living area.

This is an older hotel in the downtown area of Saint Paul. The location is actually pretty good and the hotel is actually in quite good condition for its age. Don't misunderstand there are a few things such as minor updating and small cleanliness issues but overall it's in very good condition and i would stay here again. It has a great foyer your area and an indoor Irish pub and a bar so you can essentially stay here without ever having to leave on days where there's bad weather outside or when you just don't feel like driving out and about. Today i ordered the grilled salmon and it was very good.

Absolutely beautiful hotel! The rooms are all 2 room suites and they open into the atrium area. They have live ducks swimming in their indoor ponds! Made to order breakfast in the morning and from 5:30-7:30pm they serve free beer and cocktails. The pool area is kinda small but makes up for it with elegant beauty. I'll totally stay here again.

Clean and friendly. Which is what earned all four stars. Good breakfast and a complementary happy hour which is nice. Reasonably priced room service.

The pool was cold! Like really cold and at the bottom of the pool steps the pool bottom slopes which caused me to lose my footing and go under with my infant! Luckily my sister in law was next to me to grab her but not before bruising my pride and bottom and dunking my child completely under. Their hot tub was colder than bath water too which left a lot to be desired when trying to kick back and relax. So overall I would visit again if I didn't intend to use the pool or hot tub, but since that's a selling point for us I'd hesitate to book here again.

This is an excellent property. It is located in downtown Saint Paul. There are many restaurants and shops just a short walk away. There is a nice supermarket just one block away. The lobby is clean, large and inviting. The staff is friendly and helpful. My suite was very large, clean, and quiet, with a comfortable queen-size bed in a 2-room suite, 2 flat-screen TVs, work desk, dining table, and mini refrigerator. The bathroom was spacious, clean, and well-lit. The internet speed was great. The gym was large, clean, and offered a lot of equipment. The breakfast was fresh and tasty. I would choose to stay at this property again in the future.

The room was nice. Common area was clean. Happy hour and breakfast was great. Hot tub was nice Parking is limited and paying doesn't guarantee a spot in the lot. The chain in the toliet broke and they did not fix it immediately. We had to contact the front desk multiple times.

Well this place will get you past second base that's for sure. It's a glamorous open class feel along with great employees that don't act upset when you ask a question or stop in to heat up during the cold winter. Very great staff and not at all snobbish or unhappy when having to do the job of service. Very clean along with a wishing pond bar area and floor to ceiling windows and rooms and clean safe family romantic people trying to act like upper class people for a bit. Great service

The two-room suite was excellent, and the open atrium/lobby was beautiful. No complaints about the room, it was spacious and clean. Check in was easy and I loved the ease of being able to use my phone as my room key. Breakfast was exceptional, with a good spread of pre-prepared food as well as having a cook there to make omelettes to order. My only qualm with the stay was the inadequate parking. I understand that there was a red bull event going on and their reps were staying there, but it was quite annoying to come back to the hotel after a long day and find no available parking spaces, especially since 8 of them were taken by a fleet of red bull mini coops. The parking fee for that night was reimbursed, which was an adequate solution, but I still had to park in the overflow lot.

I was on a work trip and stayed here for one night. I absolutely loved it! The room was cozy, modern and very clean. The location was also great and helped with navigating our way to the different places we needed to be. The continental breakfast was good as well and the front desk staff was very helpful and professional, clean and neat.

I have stayed here on several occasions and it's alwayd been a great experience. The staff go above and beyond; very courteous. The noon checkout was nice for the kids because they were able to swim in the morning as well as the night before. The breakfast is fantastic. Cooked to order omelettes, waffles, fresh fruit and much more. Highly recommend staying here.

We got the city view corner suite and although it wasn't much of a view, we still enjoyed it. Room was clean. Hotel foyer was beautiful. Breakfast was excellent. We also attended manager's drinks special. Staff was fantastic! The only weird thing was that a security guard was following us. We had a group of 5 people and spent most of our evening/night at the bar.

First, the good. Rooms were spacious. Continental breakfast was massive. The atrium was well kept. Staff were friendly. Downside, the devil's in the details. Rooms have noticable wear and tear despite being modern. Chipped paint, cracked grout, rusty mirror, ripped ottoman. We did have what we're most likely maids knock on our door around 4PM asking if our bathroom was okay. Odd but kind I guess.

I had a wonderful stay this pass weekend. Everything was great and the staff was so accommodating to our needs. There were two employees that stood out to us on our stay. Anthony and Woody were very attentive and helpful to our needs and just great general conversation with them. I had a talk with the General Manager about these two employees. I really hope they get accommodated for being great employees..... We'll definitely choose Embassy Suites down town St. Paul in the future to stay.

Tried an accessible room on a whim. Smaller than the other rooms it seems. Corner room meant I was exposed to interstate road noise on two sides with large sliding glass doors providing the perfect conduit to deliver the sound of tires on concrete all night long. Breakfast was good, the chef at the omelet station knew his craft very well.

The staff was very friendly and helpful, the room was very nice. Beautiful water features in the lobby with ducks was a nice touch. The hotel bar was great, local beer selection was fun. Nighttime security staff was a bit much, I got hassled for standing outside my room while I waited for my +1 to get back to the room.

Had a nice overnight stay. Rooms and common areas were clean and well kept. Room was bigger than expected. Decent food, grocery, and a green line train stop a short walk away. Staff was mostly very nice but front desk staff was very curt at best for every call or face to face interaction we had. Would probably stay again.

This hotel is okay. The rooms are fairly large but the bathroom is tiny. Bed was comfortable. There is a lot of deferred maintenance throughout this property with some areas in dire need of some upkeep. There were never any towels in the pool area (even with a maintenance employee coming in and out). From day to day the same dirt remained in the pool area, i.e. garbage on the floor. The breakfast is great, including made to order omelets. But if you're there on a busy weekend like I was, prepare to eat standing up because there aren't enough tables. Also, bring your patience when taking the elevator.

Building is a bit dated from the exterior, but do not let that deter you from staying at this Embassy Suites! Large, comfortable rooms though the bathrooms are tiny. Lovely breakfast & daily receptions. Nice, calming surroundings with the water features. The two ducks are a bonus to watch!

This hotel is located in close proximity to many local craft breweries. It has the amenities you'd expect at an embassy suites including 2 room suites, complimentary happy hour, and hot buffet breakfast in the morning. The decor is quite dated. The shower, bedroom furniture, living room chairs and tables all need some updates compared to modern hotels. The shower was almost too short for our 6 foot guest. The rock floor in the pool and breakfast area is difficult to clean and made it hard to walk and push in my chair at the breakfast nook. The staff did their jobs, but didn't seem especially motivated. We complained to the front desk about noisy guests at 3 am. They apologized and gave us HHonors points for the trouble.

Embassy suites is always a great place for my family of seven to stay. With the spacious two bedroom suite we have more room than even we need. The breakfast and managers reception are always appreciated as well. Although I must complain that the cups keep getting smaller and smaller. We customers notice the little things. With that said we love staying at the embassy suites and will continue to do so for years to come.

People were nice. Husband said eggs were delicious cooked to order. In a good area, but lots of construction now. Hot tub, jets only worked first night. Internet on big screen in lobby never worked and Internet connection rather slow. Room was clean, bed comfortable. Please note parking is 15 per night plus tax. You'd think guests at hotel would be exempt from parking fees. Happy hour was okay.

The walleye tacos were filling and full of freshness. The salsa Verde provided a perfect little kick to the meal. The fried walleye dinner was not as good compared to other visits. It was slightly overcooked but fortunately only the batter flavor was compromised. The walleye under the crust was sweet and delicious.

The PROS: The complementary breakfast in the am and two hour evening reception including free beverages (alcoholic and not) and snacks were awesome. Courtyard is home to a pair of ducks and has overall a nice and calm atmosphere, mainly caused by the waterfall. My son loved exploring it. Bed was comfy, rooms huge (living and sleeping area are separate).

The CONS: Elevators are slow, stairs well hidden. In rooms close to the four elevators you hear their cables humming whenever in use, day and night.
Asked for a crib for our 13 month old when booking, but none were available at check-in. Had to inquire three times with three different persons at the front desk whether housekeeping might have another one or not. A fourth person then called our room at 9pm(!) to check whether we got one or not and "apologized for the inconvenience of not having one" (which is not an inconvenience, but more of a safety hazard had we not had any co-sleeping experience!).

The hotel was beautiful. The room and the lobby were both very nice. The only thing I can complain about was the food from the restaurant was unsatisfactory for me and also my two friends I was with. But it's hard to fault the restaurant because they were understaffed. Overall I had a great stay and they deserve the 5 star review.

Stayed here because it was close to the Excel Arena. Incredibly spacious room, separated entertainment area and bed space with a tv in each room. The building itself has charm and a unique design that is aesthetically pleasing. The room is modern and clean inside. Checked in and was pleasantly surprised with a complimentary happy hour. Also, shuttle took us to the event and picked us up. Friendly and helpful staff all around.

$15 dollar parking is my sole complaint...because that should be included considering room costs...

Would stay here again. Would recommend to a friend.

One of the few places we stay at when in the Twin Cities. Friendly staff, great amenities and a good location to getting to where you want to go in the area (close to the light rail). Nightly happy hour and excellent, daily breakfast offerings!

The time we stayed the pool and hot tub were not in working order, though, which made for a disappointing stay. Hopefully you get that fixed before our next visit.

I brought my daughter here for an interview at Gillette Children's Hospital and we really liked the hotel. It was clean and spacious. I don't know how you could rate this less than 3 stars. Located right off the interstate, close to downtown, this is a lovely place to stay. The rooms are very large, all suites. Clean, and sharply decorated. The atrium is very peaceful, and they have real, live ducks visiting their water feature.

The free breakfast was easily worth $12-$15 if I had to pay for it. But free? Ya. A winner.

Ample parking at $15 per night. In and out privileges. Overall, this is a very good place to stay for value minded folks.

I've been in a lot of hotels recently and this one is not brand new, but it is definitely the best hotel experience I've had all year. I've read some of the other reviews and all I can say is that people are too damn picky. You're in downtown, parking costs money, quit complaining. It's a good location, it's going to be busy so there's going to be people in the pool. The breakfast service may not be perfect, but it's FREE and ten times better than any continental breakfast I've ever seen.

The staff was friendly, the rooms are big. No complaints here.

Clean as far as hotels go. Friendly staff, pretty looking lobby. However the place needs a lot of little repairs. They need to fix their revolving door, it's very difficult to push. The Window in our room was busted, leaving the room was freezing. They couldn't repair it so they taped the gap. Was told the window would be replaced but it didn't happen. Fridge froze our milk solid. Temperature control has been ripped off.

Amazing (some of the best I've ever experienced) staff, delicious breakfast, clean, well-furnished rooms... but as a hotel in a northern-tier state, they might want to do a little weatherproofing. The balcony doors in the room were basically the equivalent of an open window, and the pool room was so cold that the kids (and the adults adults) couldn't really enjoy it.

Probably an amazing place when it's not so chilly out.

I visited for two days while seeing the town. The hotel is in a good location with smiling and helpful front desk people. I had no issues what so ever and the complementary breakfast was great and one of the bbest I've had. The hotel looks and feels pretty and comfortable with ponds and nice see through elevators. My room was spacious with plenty of furniture. Only down side would be the parking lot was completely full and that my bathroom wasn't as clean as I expected. All in all still a 5 star for me.

It's an interesting hotel. It's beautiful inside. There's a courtyard with a fountain. The rooms are clean and have a great amount of space. Its refreshing to be in a space that doesn't look like every other run of the mill hotel. There was even a free drinks/snacks at happy hour. The only caveat is that my room wasn't ready when I arrived to check in. Also, the shower handle was broken. However, the friendly staff handled it all well and with enough attention that I knew I was being taken care of

Rooms are clean but dated. Staff is very friendly except for Cork's bar manager. If you're enjoying the manager's special, don't you dare bring a glass of wine to the bar to finish while you are ordering food. Seriously? Definitely a buzz kill on my last night in the twin cities. And it was the only evening that I got to enjoy the free drinks.

Good location and a very nice central hallway but some services are lacking. There wasn't a blanket for the extra bed and when we called they were all out of blankets. The room cleaning didn't switch out the towels or anything except clean up the beds. Food was okay, about as good as any hotel food.

Beautiful hotel! Love all the plants inside and the waterfall. The nice big rooms overlook the garden area. My only complaint would be the elevators are extremely slow.

Every evening they offer free drinks and snacks, every morning they offer free cooked breakfast. It's a nice, quiet, attractive hotel in a very convenient location.

The rooms were modern and comfortable. The best hotel I've stayed at in sometime. The breakfast options were by far superior to what I was expecting.

The meeting rooms were well sized and comfortable as well. I hope to attend another event at this location in the future.

We had our wedding hotel block here in September of 2015, and stayed there our wedding night as well. The hotel is beautiful, and the staff were pleasant. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were large. They got all of our guests on the same floor, and then gave us a room on the top floor. They handed out our gift bags to everyone in our block that checked it. Everyone loved the free breakfast the next morning, and it was nice for us, as we could hangout down by the breakfast area and thank our guests one last time. Overall it was a great experience.

I have stayed at this hotel on many occassions for business and fun. Regarding the post below indicating smoking in the hotel and smelling like diesel fuel seems a bit dramatic. This place is very nice the staff are super accommodating, the beds are comfortable and the pub is fun and the food is great. Also, I have never had trouble finding a parking spot but yes sometimes I have to park farther away then I would like. To me this very topic is an indicator that it is a great place to stay.
