Green Key Eco-Rating Program 5

With more than 1,200 hotels certified in Canada since its inception in the 1990s, the Green Key Eco-Rating Program awards hotels an environmental rating of one to five Green Keys. Green Key members are then given guidance on how to "unlock" opportunities to reduce operating costs and environmental impacts - and in turn earn more keys.

The Green Key audit looks at nine major areas of sustainable hotel operations:
• Energy conservation
• Water conservation
• Solid waste management
• Hazardous waste management
• Indoor air quality
• Community outreach
• Building infrastructure
• Land use
• Environmental management

WWF

WWF aims to build a future where human needs are met in harmony with nature.

It is focused around 6 ambitious goals with people at the center:
WWF's work has evolved from saving species and landscapes to addressing the larger global threats and forces that impact them. Recognizing that the problems facing our planet are increasingly more complex and urgent. The new strategy puts people at the center and organizes our work around six key areas: forests, marine, freshwater, wildlife, food and climate. By linking these six areas in an integrated approach, WWF can direct all resources to protecting vulnerable places, species and communities worldwide.

People are at the center because together we can change the trajectory of the threats to nature, and help ensure nature's ability to provide - for the sake of every living thing, including ourselves. To accomplish goals, WWF works to educate and influence people into making sustainable choices and decisions, including those who work in business and make decisions around the use of natural resources, and those who work in government and set policy that impacts nature.

Beautiful hotel, walking distance from the beach and all major attractions! Outstanding restaurant and the best looking and friendliest staff! We stayed in the executive floor and was pleasantly surprised when we went to have breakfast and saw that the singer, Pink (who was in town performing) there with her husband and kids having breakfast. Her kids played with my niece. She was super friendly! They also had bikes 🚲 available for guests. Overall outstanding experience.

The Lobby Lounge is usually a very lively and entertaining place to be on any given evening. Live music is usually good there. The Botanist is fun to visit and is a great place to take your time, sit, simmer, relax and take in the atmosphere. Bathrooms are very luxurious and clean. Service is usually quite attentive all around.

I stayed here multiple times and always had a great experience. Try to get a view to the sea and/or Stanley park. Gym is great and so is the pool area. Most of all the friendliness and professionalism are really outstanding. Definetely one of the best hotels in the world. Don't forget to take a launch or dinner at the awesome sushi bar Raw in the lobby.

The location is very luxurious and clean! The bathrooms were spacious and private with actual hand towels provided. Giovane is also a must visit for delectable treats such as beautiful mirror glazed cakes.

Location is perfect, rooms were very nice, the pool was nice (we reserved a Cabana and had fantastic poolside service), and they provide a car service which we were able to take advantage of once (at 2:30am!) and we were very grateful. Overall very nice and I would recommend it.

Great lounge with a really creative list of cocktails. I like the open concept feeling that the lounge gives off. Staff is friendly and attentive, and the pool is great. Location is also very convenient within Vancouver, and is close to the convention center if that's something that's important to you.

The lobby lounge is beautiful, the drinks were fantastic as was the service. The music was good the only downside is the crowd, it is a weird mash up of over eager men and women that are too cool to be there or anywhere. Mike and Chris at the bar are great!!

Any time someone comes to Vancouver we recommend the Pac Rim and consistently we get glowing reviews, people rave about the luxury for the price. As locals we regularly hit up the lobby bar for cocktails and a relax. The popcorn is gone which is a shame. The Botanical restaurant is excellent and their cocktails are exceptional

Absolute luxury. From the second the hotel doors are opened up for you by the exceptionally helpful staff to checking out it was all perfect. They have very nice BMW cars that will take you anywhere in town for free and the bike rentals directly from the front of the hotel are clean and very well maintained. Text messages to the concierge at any hour was replied to within minutes. The room was beautiful and kept very clean by the cleaning staff. Spa, gym, pool area, and restaurants are all first class. Nice touch to have a flower shop in the lobby as well. There is nothing bad to say about this place! I will be back.

Stopped by for a small bite in their restaurant. Ambience and decor are beautiful with a live pianist, sushi bar, and nonstop James Bond movies on the big screen. Is it expensive? Yes. Is it nice? Yes. Would I go again? No. Despite my 4 stars it really isn't something I would need to visit again unless for a social event. There are equally chic scenic places in town (albeit not by Waterfront) but the view really isn't anything spectacular. If you want to possibly catch a glimpse of a visiting professional athlete or actor, or BE seen then by all means hang out in the bar. Otherwise you won't be missing much.

This is THE hotel to stay at in Vancouver. My wife and I have shared many memories coming to stay downtown as a little staycation. We've never been disappointed. From the valet to the concierge, to housekeeping to the restaurants here, I've never felt more welcome! We love it here and when our house was being painted for a week we stayed here and it was like our home away from home!

Nice hotel for a drink and a meal. The lobby lounge is a nice modern space to relax in for a drink after going for a walk on the seawall. In the evenings there is entertainment. Giovane is a nice place for lunch and a tea break in the afternoon. Hotel is a good place to use the toilet if you are in the area which are always kept clean. It is good idea to buy a drink if using the facilities.

Here for drinks for a small corporate event. Great seating with varied privacy. We took the back corner with couches for a laid back feel. Great live music playing that night. I had the Vancouver club drink which was very good. Washrooms have towels to dry your hands. Classy.

Came for a dinner at Botanist, massage at the Spa and drinks at the Lobby Lounge. There is literally nothing bad to say about the Pacific Rim. Staff are friendly wherever you go. The hotel is beautiful inside and out. And the facilities are all top notch. It’s quite busy on the weekends and evenings but if you’re not up for a full meal, there are food options available at the Lobby Lounge as well.

I’ve stayed here only twice now, but there is nothing negative to say about this level of quality and service. They’ve earned their diamonds. From modern room amenities to spectacular views, to the fireplace on our balcony. Just incredible. Location is also perfect. If the gelato place is still around back, it’s another highly recommend! :)

Was at the Fairmont for a Christmas party. It was fantastic!! The buffet was outstanding and the staff was so courteous, professional and fun. The ballroom was gorgeous and the lounge downstairs is quite classy. The place was immaculate and the restrooms were so well kept. We had so much fun and the location right at Coal Harbour, such a great area to go for a walk. Seawall, Jack Pool park and Canada Place all glorious places to visit and sight see. Upon arrival, the swift service of the valet is a pleasant treat. They handle your belongings for you and promptly take your car to be parked. Very courteous and pleasant to deal with. Then, another staff member holds the door open for you. Also a nice treat to make you feel like royalty, and you haven't even checked in yet!! Greeted by front desk staff with a warm and friendly smile, it's like you cannot tell if they have been work for 6 hours or 2 minutes, they appear fresh, and lively! A nice treat from traveling all day. After a short time, we have our room keys and head up to our room. This room is AMAZING! I have stayed at many hotels, including many Fairmont's but this room is a 10! Automated blinds, music, heat and a/c all from the in room iPad. The euro-chic look to the room was impressive! There was even a TV integrated into the mirror in the bathroom! Super cool room. I cannot wait to go back. Thank you for the 10 star service!!

Every person a part of our dining experience was very influential in our dining experience being so enjoyable. We had the set menu for Valentine's Day and all the food was delicious. Some items could have been more flavourful, but we're still glad we were able to try them! The tenderloin and scallops were cooked PERFECTLY!

I ADORE the PacRim!! My husband and I have stayed here every anniversary and many birthdays in the last several years. The service and experience just gets better and better! Any questions or requests we’ve had have always been met with prompt service and always transcending expectation. We’ll be coming for many many more years to come! Special mention to Jackie at “The Botanist” restaurant. She is the most amazing woman and always adds the most brilliant finish to every stay at the hotel! Love her!

We visited the Botanist restaurant as a group of two, and the service was spectacular. We were given extra bread without asking, and the wagyu beef burger was very juicy and delicious. The atmosphere was also quite nice as there are plants decorated everywhere. Would recommend to anyone.

I was at the hotel for their Willow Stream Spa service. The service and guest experience was nothing out of the ordinary for the price point they promote themselves at. The reception was forced and condescending at times, and the experience itself was passable. I would not return if I had the choice in the future. The only redeeming part of the whole experience was the Fairmont Pac Rim concierge who kindly directed me to the spa. Top notch attitude and service.

One of the more luxurious hotels in Vancouver. The Fairmont Pacific Rim is what a hotel in a major metropolitan city should be. An absolute amazing ambiance as soon as you walk in the door. We love staying at this hotel. It is one of Fairmonts finest properties and you will be blown away. The rooms are modern and feel very high end. The location is perfect for walking to the sea wall, or some of Vancouver's best restaurants. The lobby lounge offers fantastic cocktails and almost always have live music. It can get very busy in the evenings as it's definitely a hot spot for locals to come too. The willow Stream spa is also a must. Arrive early for your appointment to be able to enjoy the outdoor hot tubs and other amenities. I travel a lot and am a platinum Fairmont member and this is without a doubt my favorite Fairmont hotel. We cant wait to go back!

New hotel, and awesome ballrooms for our event and great food. Rooms are clean and modern, the scents in the lobby I didn't like too much but it was all in package really well like a Fairmont should be. They have great service and bikes available for visitors. If location is close to the cruise terminal, Harbour air terminal, skytrain or Canada line. Lots of food choices nearby as well.

The most important feature in a hotel room for me is the bed. And I wish the bed & linens were as high quality as the rest of the hotel. Both nights I stayed I ended up sleeping on the floor. The bed is squishy with no support and the pillows are little more then disguised tissue paper.

The staff is very friendly as you enter the hotel. The lobby is one of the bigger lobbies in the city. There as nice vibe in the lobby in the evenings. The washrooms are spot on clean. Overall I had a fantastic stay. The room was beautiful, service was excellent and the amenities were very enjoyable. The only downside was that I booked a harbour view room but was put in room 610. I believe the front desk said I had a "complimentary" upgrade for a Jacuzzi tub but I believe that was to make up for the lack of the harbour view. I would have rather had a better harbour view as I paid additional money for the view and it did not live up to as they advertised.

I would give this place 4 or 5 stars but the service has gone down hill. If you're white and ooze money from your pores then you'll get the attention. Believe me if we didn't have money we wouldn't have gone here for drinks. We had to wait for the menu to arrive. Anyways the decor and ambiance are still good. I wish they work on their hospitality.

My stay at the Fairmont Pacific Rim is always exceptional and hotel staff continue to exceed expectations. From the offer to text when my room is ready, to a welcome back note from the manager, seamless friendly car service and delicious dining options, this hotel has it all. We were big fans of Oru, but Botanist doesn't disappoint! I loved the new decor! I also very much appreciate the willingness to accommodate dietary restrictions and allergies. This hotel truly has it all.

The hotel is beautiful and the room was very comfortable, especially the bed. The amenities were very nice. Your staff is particularly good. Each person we had contact with was genuinely nice and all were very attentive. We appreciated each of them a great deal. We stayed here for a few nights in June 2015 and it still stands out as highlight. Sarah at the front desk - the definition of amazing service. All of the other staff were also very well trained - professional and friendly. The room was amazing , full of high tech gadgets - and the view onto the harbor was a real treat. If you get the chance, take one of the bikes and cycle around Stanley Park. An unforgettable expereience. If you are ever in Vancouver - this is the place to stay.

Our stay of four days at the Fairmont Pacific Rim was very comfortable and easy. The quality of the staff and their training is exemplary. They were genuinely pleasant and helpful and often greeted me by name which is a nice touch. The entertainment in the lobby kept the stay stimulating as the energy and music was different each afternoon and evening. The fireplace lounge was a welcome refuge at the end of each day. The quality of the sushi in the restaurant in the lobby was superb. Drinks are original and delicious and the valet and concierge were always available assist. The partnership with BMW which provides transportation (within the city limits) with the house cars and bicycles made getting around easier. Great location and fabulous views!

The ambiance as soon as you enter is remarkable, a couple friends and I stepped in to park our car and stayed for a drink at the bar since they had a live singer/pianist. Staying in a deluxe city room and it is gorgeous! The room is very spacious with its own walk in closet. The bed is one of the most comfortable plush beds I've slept in at a hotel. Fairmont Pacific Rim has the best restaurants at any time even after the opening of Trump Tower. Great Bar with live events. Close to Convention center, harbour, Cruise terminal and best view of the Coal Harbour. Close to the business district and has the Best Gelato in town across the corner to top it all.

Amazing modern property situated in Van's most prime location on the water. Willow Spa was one of the best I've experienced in North America. Stunning harbour views of the Pacific Ocean from room. I'd recommend the Orfu corner suite (request higher floor).

Went there for the Japanese Art event. Service was great and welcoming. The art pieces were organized neatly which showcased the management of Fairmont Pacific Rim

Definitely one of the nicest places to stay in Vancouver. 5 star service, impeccable rooms, an amazing spa and they even let us bring our dog! The only downside is no indoor pool which would be nice considering the weather here.

Attended the wedding of a friend's daughter at the function ballroom which on the second floor. It's a three course meal, the food was prepared very well, well presented. The service was attentive. We enjoyed the night.

It's really a fantastic hotel. The service is top notch. The Raw Bar has some of the best sushi I've ever had. The spa has an outdoor co-ed area with sauna, jacuzzi, hot tub and seating.

Beautiful hotel, we were there in August 2011 as part of the BMW X1 Ultimate Adventure and we were treated wonderfully. The rooms were fantastic and the staff were friendly. They had no problem helping us prepare for our wedding. Would love to go back again some day and stay.

We were there for a wedding and the wedding itself was great!! The food and location was amazing, but the service was very lack lustre. It was a buffet style dinner but there were very few servers and no one around to clear our plates until we were already finished dinner and eating dessert. Water and wine was not regularly refilled, not even once during our whole meal. During dessert, we waited and waited but the wait staff never made it to our table for coffee and tea, and there was no waiter around for us to ask for coffee and tea. The wedding was amazing and went off without a hitch along with great food and bartenders, but the wait staff was truly not present.

Great hotel. If you want to be really picky, marble in the bathroom is not heated and the water is a bit hard to adjust to the desired temperature, but everything else is great. They have great entertainment in the lobby.

Great hotel, helpful staff, and great food in their Ora restaurant. The small coffee shop and deli also had excellent food. Can't give enough praises about their doorman. Always arranged travel excellently.

Great location, got window view to 5 sails and it was pretty at night. The room was a good size with a mirror TV in the bathroom. The whole experience was awesome. Will come back again in the near future.

My friend and I had dessert and drinks after dinner here. The drinks we picked were the non-alcoholic special drinks and they were amazing! The dessert menu could use work... there were only 3 to choose from.. Server was attentive.

The PAC Rim is probably one of my favorite hotels in the city to go to... When I want to spoil myself. Service is awesome. Room is always great. I sleep awesome. If you don't want to do valet, park at Shaw tower.

The Fairmont is a chain that (mostly) takes old mansions / castles and converts then to modern hotels. This means each one has a unique character and feel. This is our favorite hotel chain, and they are our first choice (when available) in any city we stay in. In Vancouver BC there are two Fairmont's to choose from. The Pacific Rim is a new building. But has the same and expected Fairmont class and charm. If able, please check out high tea, the city views and the spa (best massages). Highly recommended!!!!!

I stayed in an absolutely beautiful room. The staff are so friendly and my room gets tidied up multiple times a day. Perfect view out of the windows. I'd say this is the best hotel in Vancouver.

Fairmont Pacific Rim is a very new, modern hotel near watefront in downtown Vancouver. I was here for a wedding and the waitstaff are fantastic. Very professional, friendly, and watching them work is delightful (yeah weird thing to notice). Great place for a wedding.

I have stayed here many times, and the attention to detail is incredible. There is always someone there to help you at a moments notice. Also the banana coconut pancakes are amazing.

This is the more modern version of the Fairmont Waterfront. Trendier, minimalist, younger crowd and a very popular lobby lounge with live music everyday. Also connected to Giovanni (coffee shop/bake shop and Italian wine bar at night). Everything else you expect from the Fairmont brand and a bit more!
