Green Key Eco-Rating Program 5

With more than 1,200 hotels certified in Canada since its inception in the 1990s, the Green Key Eco-Rating Program awards hotels an environmental rating of one to five Green Keys. Green Key members are then given guidance on how to "unlock" opportunities to reduce operating costs and environmental impacts - and in turn earn more keys.

The Green Key audit looks at nine major areas of sustainable hotel operations:
• Energy conservation
• Water conservation
• Solid waste management
• Hazardous waste management
• Indoor air quality
• Community outreach
• Building infrastructure
• Land use
• Environmental management

WWF aims to build a future where human needs are met in harmony with nature.

It is focused on 6 ambitious goals with people at the center:
WWF's work has evolved from saving species and landscapes to addressing the larger global threats and forces that impact them. Recognizing that the problems facing our planet are increasingly more complex and urgent. The new strategy puts people at the center and organizes our work around six key areas: forests, marine, freshwater, wildlife, food and climate. By linking these six areas in an integrated approach, WWF can direct all resources to protecting vulnerable places, species and communities worldwide.

People are at the center because together we can change the trajectory of the threats to nature, and help ensure nature's ability to provide - for the sake of every living thing, including ourselves. To accomplish goals, WWF works to educate and influence people into making sustainable choices and decisions, including those who work in business and make decisions around the use of natural resources, and those who work in government and set policy that impacts nature.

The entire stay was amazing! From the preferred parking, to all the 5 star amenities, we were treated with such class by all the employees. HOWEVER- the other guests were not not accommodating at all to our social class, based off our appearance, my husband, who dresses "urban" was constantly getting stares, snickers about him, and straight up disrespected looks by almost every single guest we passed. Little do they know we were staying in the executive suite, and own our own business. I was highly offended. Besides that, it was amazing, and will be returning again.

My family and I go here for the holidays. You cannot get a better rating . If I could get the formula for the way this hotel is run, I would be rich. Its absolutely impeccable. The employees tell me they are happy. I ask them in private. They say the same. Its surreal.

Very nice hotel overall. It is located in the west end right before you cross over into Georgetown. There are a lot of event spaces including outdoor patois, ballrooms, conference rooms, and a glass event space. There is a gym in the lower level, so you may see non-hotel guests coming through the lobby frequently. Staff members are friendly and attentive. The hotel has nice decor and design. It's a short walk into Georgetown and not too far from the western end of the monuments and tourist sights.

Beautiful hotel and a very pleasant stay. I particularly enjoyed the sun lobby and outdoor sitting area as well. The room was very nice and clean. The bed was very comfortable. My only complaint is that the toilet paper was thin, particularly for being an upscale hotel. Overall it was a great stay!
