Green Key Eco-Rating Program 5

With more than 1,200 hotels certified in Canada since its inception in the 1990s, the Green Key Eco-Rating Program awards hotels an environmental rating of one to five Green Keys. Green Key members are then given guidance on how to "unlock" opportunities to reduce operating costs and environmental impacts - and in turn earn more keys.

The Green Key audit looks at nine major areas of sustainable hotel operations:
• Energy conservation
• Water conservation
• Solid waste management
• Hazardous waste management
• Indoor air quality
• Community outreach
• Building infrastructure

I attended a wedding here about 2 years ago. The hotel is obviously very clean and well decorated. We already knew this right as soon as we got there! However, the food was somewhat bland and under-seasoned. I personally would have expected a bit more. The staff were nice and welcoming and the environment was great! Food could use improvement, though.

Outstanding selection of gluten free menu options. Second to none. Bakery, ling, breakfast dinner and a kitchen that understands gluten free. Absolutely the finest service in downtown Vancouver. We love the place.

Got the basics right. Good size rooms, lovely big comfy beds, all the extras you need , location good, you can walk straight into the mall and skip all the on street traffic, so four seasons fundamentals covered. Great staff and concierge (had a problem with the bill which they sorted in good faith). Negs - ...bit tired and old fashioned, gym small and busy, bar and restaurant hit and miss. Overall impression was they were coasting a bit until they close permanently.

The staff is as friendly as it gets at a hotel, and the concierge service was incredibly helpful in recommending places to eat and visit while we stayed in Vancouver. The gym was by far the best gym I've ever been to at a hotel. There were even personal trainers available. I would recommend the Four Seasons to anyone visiting Vancouver.

Very disappointed with the level of service we received at Yew. We reserved the wine room for a birthday dinner. We arranged a set menu weeks in advance. Despite making numerous special arrangements which were agreed to by the restaurant we had to constantly remind the server of what was going on. He may have been going for casual and friendly but it came off as aloof and unprofessional. I expect top notch service from an establishment like this especially because they stipulated a minimum spend to reserve the wine room. For the limited amount of time that the four seasons will be around I will definitely not be returning to this restaurant to dine.

I visited For Seasons Hotel for a work event staged in the Garden adjacent to the pool. We were we'll provided for with Summer Party themed appies like salmon, mushroom and beef sliders, hot dogs, ice cream sandwiches, and lemon aid. The servers were prompt and helpful and I loved the walkways, little Bridges and water ways through the garden. I hope we have another work event there

Super nice hotel in an absolutely perfect location. Exactly what you would expect for a Four Seasons Hotel.
I did however pay $130 hours for breakfast one morning for three adults and two small children. The food was delicious but the bill was not.

Great location. Close to the Vancouver Art Gallery, Robson Street shopping, and Granville Street entertainment district. Vancouver's downtown is very walkable. I recommend taking a stroll down the hill to the cruise ship terminal, where you can look across the bay to North Van.

Great Experience! Clean and eager to please staff. Connected to the Pacific Center Mall. Great food in the food court. Had poutine for the first time and was weirdly delicious!

It's the oldest location in the chain and they are locked into a lease of a building built in the 70's. So it definitely lacks all the modern features but they are doing the best they can with what they have to work with. A plus is that since it's an older hotel the rooms, even the lowest category, are larger than average. Service is the usual four seasons standard. Be aware that because of the location of the hotel in central downtown, all views are city views so if having a "nice view" is a make or break for you then the best side of the South west as it overlooks the art gallery.

Beautiful hotel. Doorman was nice. Front desk has dark lighting but elegant. went to yew for an early dinner. Hostess was not too friendly. She seemed annoyed asked if I was here for stamp. Did not know what she was talking about. I said i was here for dinner with my friend. All of a sudden, she was friendly again. I would not return again even though the food was good

I have stayed at this Four Seasons hotel a number of times and the experience has always been great. The rooms are great and the staff keep them clean. All their staff are great to deal with and very hospitable. The pool and work out area is a nice place to relax if you want to spend a relaxing time at the hotel. The location is perfect for shopping or for sightseeing. You are a nice walk away from Grandville Island or a scenic walk along the water front. If you don't like walking then it's a few minutes by cab. Also don't forget to check out the local restaurants. The best part if you don't know what to do when staying at the hotel, just ask at the front desk and they will help you discover downtown Vancouver.

This is the place to stay! Rooms were very clean, quiet and elevators quick. Service at hospitality was high quality. We asked for reservations somewhere and they took care of everything. They directed us to where ever we wanted to go. Also very centrally located, we walked pretty much everywhere. I would go back.

Rooms and service are very good. The pool/exercise area was my favorite feature. There was fruit, coffee and lemon water available for guests using those facilities along with some nice touches like cool face cloths. My only real complaint was that the hide-a-bed was a bit uncomfortable. I would also like to note that breakfast at the Yew restaurant was quite expensive for small portions of food. All in all a very good experience right in the heart of Vancouver close to most of the major downtown sites.

I loved four seasons, it is literally connected to Pacific Centre so you don't even have to go outside to go shopping. The elevator takes you right there.

We had a premium Suite Booked here for 4 people, it was very beautiful and spacious. They had 2 bathrooms, a living room, and bedroom.

Our view was fantastic! We didn't order room service but went to Yew Restaurant which is located in the second floor of the restaurant and it was delicious!

The only reason I am giving this hotel 4 stars is because, the room and living room furniture and style was very 80s and not modern enough.

10/10 recommend.

I made reservations at Yew to celebrate some birthdays. The restaurant is located in the Four Seasons. It's beautifully designed with high ceilings, soft lighting, fireplace, etc that sets a lovely ambiance. The menu is quite robust with seafood being the main theme. The price point is on the higher end, but this to me was expected as the hotel is upscale. The service was amazing. We had one minor issue with an item we ordered and I mentioned it in passing to our server. I didn't expect anything to come of it, but our server presented us with a couple of extra desserts and an apology. My party had a wonderful dining experience. I would highly recommend Yew for a special night out.

This hotel was amazing, it was well suited in the middle of downtown Vancouver. Walking distance to anywhere you need to go downtown. What I loved most about this hotel is all the extra little touches they did. I went there for the weekend with my wife and 10 month old son. I requested a crib which was in the room on arrival. The crib is good quality with a good mattress which you never see in hotels. They had baby food ready and cheerois. As well a bathing kit for the little one which I have never seen before. our bed was very comfortable as well and the staff were amazing and helpful. The hotel is a little on the pricey side but worth every penny. This is my new go to hotel in Vancouver and I will be staying there again for sure.

I stayed here for 1 week. It was an exceptional hotel! From the moment i checked in the service was fantastic!
The room service should also be commended. I was sick during my visit and room service noticed the amount of tissues I was using and so dropped off 2 more boxes every time my room was clean. The services the hotel offered was of a high standard. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

I spent 3 nights at the Four Seasons, and prior to my trip, I was quite excited to start at this "5-star" hotel. However, reality see in when I arrived and I found it no more special than any regular 4-star hotel, like a Marriott, Westin, or Hyatt. The rooms were nicely appointed, the staff was great, and the food was good. But nothing at all stood out that made this property special - or even adequate of a 5-star rating. Maybe my expectations were set too high, but I really was expecting more. Aside from that, the entire hotel was extremely warm. Sure, it was cool outside, but I felt like I couldn't get my room below 78 degrees F. The air conditioning must have been shut of for the season, because the common areas and my colleagues' rooms were also hot, even with the thermostat set as low as it would go. It was so warm that I had trouble sleeping every night. I ended up on top of the covers and waking up constantly, sweating. Now I realize that for some people, 78 degrees would be no problem, but I cannot sleep if it's much more than 72 (65 is preferable for me). The fact that I essentially couldn't even choose the temperature that I wanted my room at because there air conditioning was turned off just seemed ridiculous at a hotel of this caliber. Next time, I'll stay at the Hyatt down the street where I know what to expect and can keep my room what I seem as a comfortable temperature for me.

Four Seasons Hotel is a beautiful place, emitting modernism and a classy atmosphere. They are the annual hosts of the Festival of Trees, which supports the BC Children's Hospital. There were less trees this year than last year. There seemed to be quite a number of people in the restaurant and glass cases showcase jewelry from local artists. It's a great location for conventions as well. They have multiple large ballrooms great for business events and speeches, such as the UBC Arts Coop Convention. I have not stayed overnight so I cannot comment on their rooms. Overall, I recommend attending the Four Seasons Hotel for business and social events.

Somewhat disappointing...

Nice hotel in the middle of downtown Vancouver which is good and bad.. The views are of the other tall buildings. I was hoping for a view of the water (my bad, I should have checked google maps). It also is very congested traveling by car to this area. It seems like the traffic never lets up.

The employees are great. I love great attitudes.

The room is very nice. The couch and chairs are not comfortable. It seems like hotels purchase for looks not comfort. The bed is great. Nice white comforters and pleasantly soft and supportive. I am not into mattress's that sleep like you are on the floor.

The internet is awful on basic. Wish I could change to premium. It is definitely worth it. I have trouble even loading my emails. I'm sure the hotel is holding down the band width...kind of sad.

Parking a car by valet is ridiculously expensive ($49/night...more than the car rental) but it's worth the rental to be able to travel and see the incredible surrounding area.

The restaurant was very good with excellent service. It's located in the lobby which makes it somewhat loud. The food was great and only somewhat expensive (I would give it $$$ out of $$$$).

Very disappointing, Not Four season standards at all. Unbelievable, quite a few rats on lower floors. Pretty tired and outdated decor, and smaller washrooms. Kudos to Yew and staff for pleasant experiences. Overall staff were friendly and accommodating, except for the security personnel named Jim. He destroyed the experience for us by his arrogance, rudeness and uncouth behavior. In fact his bad body odor was repulsive.

The second overweight young boy, was unshaven and looked fresh out of school ,had no name tag was the other security who claimed that everybody knows about the mice in the building and nothing can be done about it. The security guys looked like brothers and have no clue dealing with a complaint. Wow, so UNLIKE the FOUR SEASONS standards that we are used to. We are regular travelers and repeat four seasons guests, and will also be voicing a strong letter to the management. Hope fully something changes in the behavior towards paying guest. We are not criminals.

We just wanted to voice our concerns about the mice we saw in the lobbies, business room on 3rd floor , club 4 and so on. But, the reaction we got from the Jim, was not deserved at all.

But the rest of staff were so emphatic, understanding and professional.

Amazing staff! Comfortable bed and clean room. The hotel is on the older side and you can tell it in some places but the rooms were updated and nice. Hotel is very nice and rooms were clean. Staff is polite and friendly. I enjoyed it being a part of a shopping center. The parking situation lost them 1 star for me though. Either you pay $49 a night for valet, or pay to park in the Easypark. It's crazy to me they don't have their own lot, or validate parking for overnight guests.

Stayed 2 nights, great location, amazing pool and fitness facility, and rooms were very pleasant with comfortable beds. We loved the service and attention to detail. Every face was friendly, every interaction inspired by kindness, and every odd request, which naturally accompanies traveling with two young children and a pregnancy, fulfilled with grace. The concierge was particularly helpful in getting flowers, at the last minute, into our room before we arrived to check in.

Out of all the 4 seasons I've stayed in this was by far the most disappointing. The only thing keeping it at 2 stars were the staff, they were attentive and worthy of any luxury hotel. My major issue with this 4 seasons was the premium nightly rate given the buildings age, in particular the rooms, which were clean but very dated. I ended up checking out early, went up the street, and checked into the brand new Trump hotel which was actually $100 cheaper per night and a thousand times nicer. Not sure how this 4 seasons in particular justifies it's prices. Would consider it again if they adjusted their rates to better suit the hotel.

A large impressive tower hotel! Views from our 23rd floor room were impressive looking out to Stanley Park and over the keys stadium.

Palatial entrance with escalator to the concierge and reception. After our long flight we were greeted warmly and a romantic was found for us immediately. So welcome. Hugs no of cases stood in the lobby but ours was whisked up in 10mins.

A huge comfortable king sized bed. Coffee machine water. Large shower over bath with immediate hot water, toiletries etc available. Large comfortable lounge chair table and chairs lamp coffee table. Downside no double glazing but a quiet position.

Breakfast delicious huge buffet choice with fruits nuts yoghurts cereals breads pastries. Selection of personal cooked eggs pancakes etc with all additional accompaniments. Lovely breads.

Highly recommended. Staff so attentive and personal nothing too much trouble.

Staff is amazing and helpful, but not obnoxiously overbearing. We're convinced that housekeeping is entirely staffed by ninjas. Room service is delicious, and the restaurant downstairs is pretty good too. You can't ask for a better location either. We were able to walk to the main shopping/tourist district, then walk all the way to the aquarium, and back. The nightlife if the city is only a couple of blocks away as well.

NOT 5 STARS! I've stayed in other 5star hotels and this was the worst one yet! The rooms are outdated, upon entering the room there was still garbage in the trash can, television was broken, coffee machine broken, ordered cocktails it took over 30 minutes to receive drinks that were very very incorrect and had to be sent back, the first night the bathroom was not stocked, ordered from the 15minute menu it took 36minutes to receive food, NONE of our room service food arrived hot(warm at best and some cold), pool and hot tub were not very clean and after the 2nd day they closed it for 1 week, the business center is lacking and outdated, the entrance is a bit outdated and tacky, no microwaves in rooms, water is 8$, not many outlets for charging, elevators were dirty on several occasions(not to mention, wall fixtures in the elevator were broken), air quality is not the best(I think they need to change their filters).

The positive things: the door men are all very nice and helpful, the view and location are nice, the soaps and lotions are high quality, bathrobes and slippers are high quality, if you call housekeeping they will clean the room promptly, water pressure is strong and good showers and baths, the restaurant YEW was nice.

I've stayed in many hotels in Vancouver this has been one of my least favorite Vancouver hotel experiences yet. I've stayed in hotels with less stars that were cheaper and had much better services and experiences. If someone had told me this was a 4star hotel it would make sense, however compared to my past experiences in other 5star hotels this one falls well below grade.

Yes, this hotel does have a wonderful location and very friendly staff, but I don't think I would ever give it 5 stars considering the price of a room. The rooms seem pretty ordinary, the air conditioner in my room had a difficult time keeping the room cool (it was only 10C outside), the main floor and lobby look quite old, and the pool had a very thick scum line on the tiles. There is also no airport shuttle and it's actually cheaper to rent a vehicle for the day than use the valet parking (I did this on two separate days. There are two rental agencies with a 10 min walk). I would definitely say this hotel is a step down from the last JW that I stayed in.

At eight o'clock they even came by to ask if we needed anything replaced or if we would like bottled water instead of drinking from the tap (we are fine with tap water, but it was very impressive that they took the time to ask) Every employee greeted me by Sir name and with a great attitude and a smile!

Location is close to the nearest metro station as well as bar and food. Staff is friendly and helpful and the rooms were good. We got there a little early and they put our luggage in storage with no hassle when we went out while our rooms were being prepped. Would stay again.

Was here for an event. Food quality was pretty good and was impressed with the service. The room we were in was pretty cold but tbh this was better for not making be tired during a two day event. Overall a pretty good venue, but not outstanding enough for 5 stars.

Nice clean rooms with a great view. Pool and gym area are nice and well equipped. However security is rude and useless when asked for help. Wifi is okay but lobby and hallways could use a serious overhaul. Enjoyable stay and great location.

The Seasons room at the four seasons hotel vancouver was the perfect size for the event I attended was cozy and spacious. A nice balcony and view of Vancouver downtown. The staff was great and professional. Very nice hotel and experience.

I travel a LOT for business and this is my favourite hotel! Yes it is one of the older hotels in Vancouver, but the customer service cannot be beat. They think about the guest first and do whatever it takes to make your life easier. The online check-in is a great feature. My favourite story about this hotel centers around me arriving at 1am from a late flight and the bell boys at the front door seeing my name on my luggage tag and handing me my room key so I could go straight up to my room without having to go to the front desk. That's truly a client first approach! Also the pool and fitness center are great, Yew restaurant is reliable and having a Blo bar in the lobby is an added bonus!

Love staying here. This hotel really knows how to hire friendly staff and get them enthusiastic about service. Additionally, if you are travelling with a pet, they offer the best service for you and your pet; best we've ever had.
Plus pool and sundeck are lovely. We will definitely stay with Four Seasons Vancouver again.

Beautiful hotel with exceptional service. We were greeted and made to feel so welcome. Little touches like ice already in the ice bucket, a hand written welcome note, fresh strawberries and chocolate make the entire experience so lovely. The room is spacious and warm. Everything you need is available to you. A wonderful hotel.
