Honestly, there isn't a nicer resort in Central America. The accommodations, the service, the food, the amenities and the drinks are all first class! Everything about our stay was perfect.

For the common man it’s out of reach ( money wise) for a stay , but on vacation a stop over for lunch at this Four Seasons is with in reach of most travelers. It’s like a tropical palace . The food is wonderful and the atmosphere is relaxing. Understated elegance is my best description. I had lots of chats with waiters, servers , and other Four Seasons workers. All were intelligent and informed of the area and their own specific interests. I enjoyed my conversations with them. Should I fall into a fortune some day , I’d consider seriously spending a week here. But in leu of that, I can dream.

Spectacular resort. Especially like the uniqueness of the peninsula, the ocean course for golf, the steakhouse at the clubhouse, the electric bikes to ride, sushi poolside and the Green Iguana cocktail. My wife had one of the best messages ever at the spa. The quality is what you expect at Four Seasons. Service was fantastic especially at Bahia for breakfast and the poolside bar (ask for Ivan to make your drinks).

I've had the opportunity to work with many four seasons properties all over the world and I truly feel this is one of the best. Not only is the property amazing, the architecture is beautiful but the staff is 100% 5 star. They are always there to help and no one walks past you without saying hola. Fine star luxury service is hard to find these days but they have mailed it

The hotel is amazing. 4 star is because they advertise a private pool in master bedroom villas but it’s actually shared with whole villa. There is no door to make it private so anyone who stayed in villa can use it. Amazing views. Just a paradise.

Just returned from a 4 day trip.Great hotel, great location, great service, great food, lots of activities. Its low season ,so rates were discounted, but the service was not.1400 acres of majestic beauty!Although we were afraid of rains, all we experienced was a few sprinkles .Great time to go whale watching, snorkeling( the water temperature was perfect),nature trails and golf!!
We were also able to dine at the Andaz and the Prieto Beach Club.
The food and the service was wonderful.

This was definitely the nicest place I've been to. The bed and pillows are the most comfortable I've laid on. Plenty of daily activities but you need to reserve a spot early! Otherwise the good ones will definitely be filled up. I would

Amazing location! Every single person we met from the front desk to people trimming the grass were exceptionally polite, kind, and welcoming. The walk to our room was up a very Steep Hill. Great for exercise or there is always someone available to take you in a golf cart. Horseback riding, stand up paddle boarding, and zip lining were all phenomenal.

What an awesome place. The staff was amazing. Friendly and accomodating to me who was on crutches. The food was a little lackluster for a 4 star resort but hopefully that will be remedied

Very picturesque hotel, and the location is very relaxing as the hotel itself is quite isolated. Staff are incredibly friendly and professional. Great place to go and just relax.
If you want to go to the nearest town (coco beach) its about a 45 min car ride or you can take a boat which takes 20 mins.

Great but not perfect. Staff is super friendly, but service was very slow at every restaurant. On beach is very windy. Nice that towels are out at the pool already. Not great if you have trouble with stairs. Rooms are quite nice. Overall, my least favorite four seasons

Beautiful hotel on an amazing project. Right on the Pacific and the bay. Rooms are nice ( not over the top) with nice screened in balconies. Restaurants are good and there are multiple pools and bars. Beach’s are not the nice sandy type which is a drawback. Loads of activities and many are complimentary

If you want exceptional service, hospitality, amazing views, and just an all-around perfect resort to spend your vacation, look no further! Lots of daily activities, (many complimentary), and on-site rentals/bookings for excursions make it a hassle-free experience to enjoy much of what the country has to offer. The food from all the restaurants on location is amazing, and the spa is the most relaxing one I've had the pleasure to use. I had a 60min aromatherapy massage from Randall 2 days ago and I highly recommend him, he's very catering and polite and helped ease my back/shoulder pain. :)

After a 30 million dollar renovation, Four Seasons Papagayo is now open and believe me, it was worth the wait. They are between 2 amazing beaches and in the midst of a jungle with howler and white face monkeys galore. I highly recommend this fabulous resort!!!

This is my favorite place in the world , I just can get enough of it. The pools are amazing, the beaches and the ocean are always perfect. Everyone is so friendly. There’s monkeys everywhere. The food is amazing, I love their breakfast. Get the villas if you can, with your own private pool. The spa is so relaxing. It is worth every dollar.

This review is around the golf course and those parts that are accesible for visitors. The entrance to the Golf section is majestic, then the professionalism of the staff at the golf course was as great as expected, one of the cashier staff wasn't as nice but everyone else overshadowed that. The golf carts are GPS and location aware securing the ride through the course. The rides are incredible and this is by far the best golf course in Costa Rica. A great job by Arnold Palmer design.

Great, beautiful, expensive resort. Was frustrated by the high prices for renting a car or boat to go sightseeing. We took 2 guided tours, which were great, and were our only opportunities for exploring outside the resort. Anyway, rent a car at the airport and it will be cheaper and allow for more independent exploration.

World traveler here with much experience of Four Seasons locations around the world. This location being in my top 3. First of all, my family has owned a residence club condo here for over 10 years now, and we are simply happy. We have seen much changes over the years, the staff gets promoted to over areas of services, many renovations, and the spa is one of the best. I do miss the seaweed wrap guys, maybe you could bring it back for me! 😉
In addition, Four Seasons crew has become my Tico family. I'm from Panama, so this is important to me that a special bond has formed over the years with these amazing Costa Rican people. I could go on forever as to how special and wonderful it is here, but its something you need to come experience for yourself. They are closing soon for renovations so hurry! Best months of the year: November - August in my opinion, so you can experience Costa Ricas finest. Mantas migration, Whales migration, leatherback tortugas, rain & cloud forests, volcano trekking, bike riding, paddle & surf boarding, scuba and fishing!

It was my first experience with four seasons and Costa Rica! It made me fall in love with the natural water environment and service was incredible. We wondered if people are generally friendly and English fluently or it's the four seasons service. The resort is so beautiful by the ocean. We could see monkeies in one side of the ocean and paddle board, kayak on the other side. Wish I see sloths to perfect the stay to 6 🌟

This resort is too first world for this secluded location. The overwhelming size of the resort makes it loose some of the class that other Four Seasons resorts hold so dear.

I really only need one word to describe this resort.... PERFECTION! The staff were all incredible, awesome food, gorgeous property and they treated our kids like royalty. It's all about the little things they do that really makes the difference. The poolside water, sunscreen, frozen fruit, cool towels, sunglass cleaner and snow cones are just a few examples of the Four Seasons experience. We loved our entire stay so much we never left to do any excursions which is rare for our family! Our daughter asked if we could move there : )

You can't beat the genuinely engaged and happy staff, the attention to detail, the condition of the resort, or the level of organization in the events. The food was top notch at each of the restaurants. The beach is safe and clean and comfortable. The pool is excellent. Or rather pools. The gym is ok - not great but enough for a light weight workout. There's hiking on the resort too. No overbearing outside activity vendors. And the staff speaks impeccable English.

There were no flaws with my four seasons experience. From resort events to restaurants to room service, I was entirely happy with my experience. The staff makes it easy and pleasant to do everything. Lots of genuine smiles and unforced conversation in passing with staff.

Could not have had a better time, better service, fun packed family vacation then at the Four Seasons Resort in Peninsula Papagayo. It was magnificent and we will return to the "residency" yearly... we hope. We loved the residence (like timeshare) because it is basically a house with room service. We could order groceries before arrival and cook some meals there. Every detail with the upmost quality and convenience. I could go on and on, but there was nothing less than excellent from this particular resort. More than anything, we loved the people....so helpful and authentically nice. I have never seen this more apparent, in any other exotic place including Hawaii, Mexico or European country. We have fallen in love with Costa Rica, the beautiful environment, lifestyle, food and above all, their people (no militia, guns or hunting....can't beat that). I don't think there is a finer resort than the Four Seasons in this particular location. PS We lucked out and had great weather at the end of August (semi-off-season). My son in law played golf there and had the only T time that morning. He was very impressed.....beautiful, immaculate, golf course! I am sure it is packed at other times. #bestfamilyvacationever.

Great staff that will do everything to insure your visit is spectacular. Prepare to pay for your food and drinks as nothing is inexpensive, but the service makes up for it. Both beaches are great and the pools. Too much to list that is positive.
The only con is having to leave the resort.

Arrived here with our three children and wife to a plush tropical surrounding and a staff that equally compliments. We've been here now over 4 days and couldn't have nicer things to say about the Four Seasons. Above all, the staff is extremely gracious going out of their way to accommodate us on anything we need. The pools are well maintained, the food is wonderful, and the two beaches on either side of the property have offered our children hours of enjoyment. The hotel, because of it's location on the peninsula is a bit isolated, but that isolation is what we are enjoying the most. There are plenty of activities for the children as well as a gorgeous spa and workout facility. If you desire to leave, there are plenty of excursions from boat rides to zip lining to hot spring and volcano tours that you can sign up for. I'm exceedingly happy with out selection and would highly recommend it to any other.

I don't fully understand how you couldn't give this place 5 stars. The setting is beautiful, multiple beaches and pools to choose from. The service is outstanding, everyone here went out of their way to make sure we had what we needed and no request was declined. Food is great and rooms are large and comfortable. Had to laugh at the reviews that complain about the heat. Really? You're a stone's throw from the equator. What exactly did you expect?

This place does it right on all accounts. Will definitely return.

Booked through American Express. It was my 50th birthday and my first time in Costa Rica. Wonderful property and great staff. Would highly recommend it. Stayed in a 1 bedroom suite and it was a great room with a great view of the bay. I would not spend the extra money for the plunge pool. It is more like a sitting area than a pool.
