Amazing location with nice view of the water. Even the smaller room I stayed in was amazing. The spa was very nice and quiet. The grand breakfast was delicious and the dining hall was beautiful. The restaurant for the dinner was luxurious but still had a cozy feel to it. The food (I had the veal) was probably the best meal I've ever had. Superb staff all-round who helped me with my secret birthday plans. Very professional and helpful.

Would definitely stay again!

Grand Hotel is one of Stockholm’s Crown Jewels, situated on the water across from the Castle, it is part of making the beauty of the Capital. For over a hundred years is has been a meeting spot for locals and visitors alike. Unfortunately a great hotel needs more that looks and location. Bad management has eroded this place for years and I will now finally stop getting disappointed by staying permanently away.

stayed here for the first time for NYE 2019 and it was a really great experience. got to watch the fireworks show right from my bedroom window.
the second time, it was for my wedding weekend. we booked a junior suite without a view, but got upgraded to one with a view for free as a wedding gift from the hotel. we were also gifted a nice large scented candle, and a personalized card congratulating us.
this hotel really makes us feel special. we will definitely come back for the third time, and more.

Very nice hotel. Beautiful and spacious rooms. Modern bathrooms. Professional staff, but courteous.

The facilities (gym, restaurant, room service) were clearly above and beyond most such hotels. Attention to minute detail was very well done.

Will be back. With pleasure.

We made reservations for the Smörgåsbord and it was great! Our server gave us all kinds of tips for other places to go and try. Great experience.

Terrible check-in experience. I was given a room that had stains on the carpet and terrible smell. The window was facing a wall so the room almost got no natural light. (I paid full price for the stay.) Went back to the front desk to complain and was moved to a much better room. The staff never greeted the guests when they walked in the hotel. Probably the worst 5-star hotel I have ever stayed at in terms of service. Location is nice. The spa is nice. But I won't go back.

If anybody is trying to find good deals on hotels visit HoteIRᴀven. com booked a hotel on there and they had the best rates anywhere!

The Grand Hotel does not need to call out it's Grandeur with an adjective as everything it is, and its staff does lives up to the name.

The experience is luxury from the first and does not disappoint. The staff, like many in Sweden, speak English better than native speakers and make the interactions effortless and pleasant.

The rooms are well accommodated and prepared with subtle touches such as cards wishing guests a good night with thoughtful quotations.

The hotel was being renovated while my wife and I stayed there so I cannot opine on all of the hotel's beauty, but certainly those areas which were open were incredible, beautiful, and historic.

Hotel and rooms are a real 5*. All great. Amazing SPA. Amenities by Bottega Veneta. Great shower in my room. Very comfortable bed. Only drawback is the Veranda restaurant... Buffet was 100% the same last night and today for lunch. And quite pricey too... 55€.

The best hotel in Stockholm, hands down. If money isn't an issue, this is the place to stay. Also a great option for drinks and foid, especially in the summer when they have a large outdoor lounge area with table service.

Great afternoon tea. I loved the scones and homemade jelly. The other items was ok but not good as the price indicates. Lovely view over the royal castle. Stiff upper lips on the guests but what can you expect? Lovely service!

The Grand Hôtel's Smorgasbord had been strongly recommended by a Swedish friend, if we were ever to visit Stockholm.
During a weekend break in March 2018, we booked in for a 3 hour food sensation.
There are about 55 individual courses, categorised in themes such as cold cuts, pickled herring, salads, meatballs and such, accompanied by local beer, aquavit and a range of desserts.
Tremendous quality, plus the staff were v friendly and helpful.
Would highly recommend adding the experience to your Stockholm itinerary.

Genuine and nice, great location, great staff and the service is excellent. I attended a wine exhibition and testing. Really great and well put together. The mirror hall with it's high ceilings and posh atmosphere really made the exhibition great.

7

Good service, magnificant location, amazing room, however missing amenities such as coffee machine, shaving kits, etc.
Bath was great - massive.
The furniture of the room had a little wear and tare, which lowered the overall feel.
We ordered some ice to the room and this took 20 minutes - we also went down to ask for a knife and fork and got a very weird look from the staff down in the bar?
The first we ask, had to go and get her manger to put this through him, so we could get these.
The spa was great - possibly the highlight of the hotel.

In most regards, this is a 5* hotel. It's beautiful, with very friendly and helpful staff. The restaurants are awesome. Conveniently located with a private taxi. The spa is amazing, and the best amenity there. Rooms are big, with a nice bathroom. However, the primary function is a place to sleep- everything else is secondary. And I found sleeping very difficult and uncomfortable. The mattress was meh at best, and we had two twin beds pushed together instead of a queen- so there was an annoying crease to lay on when we wanted to cuddle. The two beds had separate sheets, perhaps to give more temperature control, but that's laughable. They only provided a super thick comforter so you choice is freezing or overheated. And to make it worse, the thermostat is arcane, with a small dial that had no numbers on it. Turning the dial had no apparent effect (you didn't hear a change in the air) but 30 minutes later it was a dramatic different temperature or no change at all. They really need to just replace them with a standard digital thermostat, like every other hotel. If you can sleep in any condition, it's five stars. But for someone like me, I wouldn't stay there again despite how nice everything else was.

The Veranda is a good place for lunch. Went here for birthday of my grandfather and party of 12 family members. The reservation and requests were well taken care off. The service is competent and staff well trained. Smörgåsbord is very good, especially with salmon (gravlax) and herring. Do follow their recommendation and take the Aquavit. We had a great time; my grandfather was pleased and so I am. Recommended.

8

The rooms are beautiful and spa facilities are fantastic.

The only reason I have not given this a 5 star rating is because the service is that of a 3 star hotel. I stay here frequently as I travel for work and have stayed in many 5 star hotels. Hotel staff are snobby and do not try very hard to accommodate guests. Especially when ordering room service, items are often wrong and they do not try make it up to you in any way. Service at the veranda is awful as well. Long waiting time to get served and often get orders wrong/forget things even when not busy. Menu used to be much better as well.
They increased prices, made servings smaller and menu worse.

Spent three days volunteering at the ITech Law Conference and they picked The Grand Hotel as their venue... Beautiful structure, warm staff, the toilet is amazing... It was memorable and I didn't even stay...when I save up, I would definitely spent a memorable night here...it is also by the river...

The drinks are expensive, of course, and the food isn’t cheap either. But it’s one of the only places in Stockholm you can go and just relax and be taken care of by a competent wait staff.

Went there for a meeting. The concierge was blissfully unaware of where we were supposed to go. And he made no effort to help, at all. Finally the people who we were meeting had to leave their conference room to come find us. A bit embarrassing.

I travelled to the Grand Hotel to celebrate our anniversary. Whilst walking into the Grand hotel I was speechless to say the least. It is definitely a grand hotel, with a touch of pure elegance. We decided to pay a little extra so we could have the view out onto the palace. The view from our balcony was breathtaking and the service was remarkable. The spa oozed nordic elegance and was a perfect way to start the day and relax after a busy and cold day in Stockholm. I will definitely be taking a trip back to this luxurious hotel!

Was my first time staying at Grand Hotel. I have of course been to other Hotels in Europe, Asia and Africa. I authentically say this one of the best hotels I have been to.
Service, customer care and morale of staff are some times too much that you fear asking for anything because you will definitely get it.
From the outside, the place place dint look attractive at least to me, while inside I forgot everything outside.

I stayed here one night and I can honestly say that it was one of the most enjoyable experiences I ever had. The staff is incredible! They were attentive and always helpful with all my inquiries. Every aspect was top notch, from the cleaning to the interior design. The breakfast was awesome!

We also ordered room service in the middle of the night and it was absolute perfection. Delivered within a couple of minutes, a delicious toast and a chocolate pudding. If I could give them 10 stars I would!

WE LOVED IT” Solid building, well maintained. We were upgraded from a deluxe room overlooking the harbor to a suite in the "new building" which connects by an interior passageway. Were delighted. Everyone is lovely, room service breakfast arrived on time to the minute 4 times in a row. Wonderful hotel
