As we walked in we noticed the water bowl for the doggies and knew we were going to like it. The rooms lack a coffeemaker but they have coffee in the lobby.
Nicely done rooms. We left for a quick workout in the (limited) exercise room and our room had been made up when we returned.
Popcorn, Wine and vodka soda happy hour is fun.
They are just next to one city bike spot.

Back to the Mason & Rook for a second stay and just as good as I remembered. Rick at the front desk was awesome... friendly, warm and welcoming as well as efficient, yet thorough. I was upgraded to an executive king and the room was spacious with nice decor and a comfortable bed. Service on the roof was great and the staff is so very friendly. To top it off, the location just off 14th is perfect with so much within walking distance.

I loved it here. The staff are excellent, the evening wine is nice, and the rooms are well laid out. Very comfortable for a short or long stay. I'm a fan of the desk where you can sit on either side. The desks are huge, and the counter space around the TV and minibar are quite ample. The beds are cozy, and the showers are clean and luxurious. The only thing I would change are the pool hours - 8am-4pm makes it virtually possible for anyone traveling on business to use the pool.

This place is awesome, and at such a low price! Our room was gigantic and beautiful. The bed was super comfy. Also, we didn't hear anyone else the whole time we were there. The staff is friendly and helpful. Valet parking is a little pricey, but the hotel is located walking distance to many things. I would totally stay here again!

Love this cute hotel! It definitely has a “masculine” vibe - the description on the website is spot on.

The rooms are clean and well-provisioned. A big plus is that check out is at NOON which is unheard of these days. And even with a late check out we were able to check in early on a Saturday.

I’ve stayed there twice and the amenities are great. There’s a wine hour and seasonal rooftop pool. The decor is interesting and modern and gives the hotel a nice vibe.

My only recommendations for improvement are:
1) we asked for ice to be brought to our room twice bc they don’t have ice machines and the ice never made it.
2) the most recent trip our door was REALLY hard to open and close. At first my sister thought we had the wrong room or the wrong key. I had to shoulder it open.
3) they don’t give you any free water. A bottle of water is labeled with a $6.00 price tag. At least give us a free Costco bottle or something!

Stylish boutique hotel with friendly, attentive staff. The space is beautifully designed but affordable. You always feel like you're staying at a pricier hotel when you stay at a Kimpton property.

This one is really well located and just around the corner from many restaurants and shops. It was the first time we stayed in Logan Circle.

They have simple but well done refreshments in the lobby and wine o'clock which is always welcome. Or room was comfy. The water pressure in the shower was crazy. I worried that DC might run out of water it was so forceful. Didn't seem environmentally prudent, but my boyfriend was in heaven. Weird that they, like many hotels, have requests that you don't get fresh towels everyday which is greener and you follow the instructions to reuse, but housekeeping replaces your towels anyway.

Such a cute hotel and the room decor is darling! Awesome art that you'll want to take home. In-room service was closed early, but they do offer snacks in the mini bar (the menu is scrollable on the TV and they give you $10 credit toward the mini bar; some items are actually under $10 so this is actually a good benefit). Beds are huge (as are the rooms); robes are comfy; and there is a yoga mat that you can use, as well!

Went here for a rooftop party on a Saturday night. The venue is very modern and sexy. Bartenders were always on top of drinks and the food wasn't even half bad. Highly recommend if you are thinking about throw a big celebration in DC.

Nice property with clean rooms. Rooftop pool was nice, although bar facilities were limited. Good location too. Unfortunately my experienced was ruined by a large breed dog in and adjacent room that barked incessently including starting around 730 am . German Shepard? I stayed 2 nights and after the first morning I let the desk know how miserable it had become. They told me they would talk to the owner and if they were not sure it would be better the next day, they would offer to move me. I didn't hear back so I assumed they had a solution. Well, 730 am this Sunday morning the barking started again. We checked out and told the front desk why. No words of sympathy were offered. Crazy how one barking dog can truly affect a much needed weekend getaway!

Went to the bar/restaurant, Radiator, for happy hour. Pregnant wife was charged full price, albeit happy hour price, for a virgin drink special. All food was edible, but nothing special. Service was friendly and prompt. All in all a very average experience, but at least the setting was pleasant.

I love that they provide full size shampoo, conditioner, and bodywash. The rooms are large and clean. In the evening they provide wine to help relax. I really like the fact they are pet friendly and didn't charge a pet fee. The also offer bicycles! I highly recommend this hotel.

I have stayed at Mason and Rook several times now for business. It is incredible!! From the conseirge to the restaurant staff, front desk and housekeeping, everyone makes you feel welcome. Access to restaurants and shopping is just a short walk away and it's the best place to relax! Big shout out to the gentlemen in the front who always greet you with a smile and hello and to the BEST server in the Radiator!! I will be back!

Location is great, in the heart of everything. Ubers and taxis are easily available. Desk attendants were very friendly and willing to help. Welcoming atmosphere. Pool and bar are both great amenities to have on the rooftop. Happy Hour was a nice surprise as well. Food is pricey, as expected, but there are plenty of options within a 20 min walk to eat instead.

Amazing, trendy place! Loved it. So accomodating. Sarah at the bar was outstanding. I had a creepy guy kept trying to start a political fight with me and she had my back. She was personable, respectful and strong. I admired her from then on. Overall amazing place and new design and furniture. Highly recommend.

Wonderful accommodations! My check in experience with Rick was perfect- warm, personable, easy, knowledgeable of the area. The room was spacious, comfortable, and very thoughtfully appointed. Easy walk to great dining and convenient to parts of town I needed to access for work. Didn’t eat in the restaurant but the room service was delicious! Will be back.

A handsome and contemporary small hotel that is my favorite place I have stayed in so far in DC. It manages to be both luxe and low-key at the same time. The rooms, and even the hotel exterior, are painted in gray and dark purple, yet feel airy and spacious with plenty of windows and natural light.

The staff exceeded my expectations, and were quick and eager to respond with solutions when I couldn't quite figure out the thermostat, and politely offered suggestions on where I could find a good pizza place when I appeared at the front desk after having drinks at 3 am. They truly make the difference when choosing between them and a similarly appointed hotel in the same area, and their manner, discretion and attention to detail does not go unnoticed.

Super friendly staff!! Door men, super nice and courteous. Complimentary wine and popcorn! Spacious and comfortable rooms. Love the addition of different portraits in the room. Huge tv! Super quick room service. Nice lobby layout with the library on one side and seating area on another, across the bar. Outdoor fire and sitting area very nice decore. Housekeeping could have done a better job cleaning the bathrooms floors, sinks, and shower floors.

Phenomenal location just off the action of 14th Street. Whole Foods and a huge number of restaurants and bars as well as Dupont Circle are literally steps away. Great rooms and a nice common area. Radiator is great for a hotel restaurant and the rooftop pool is small, but welcome. Excellent service and an evening wine reception as well. I'd stay again in a heartbeat.

The location was only a 15 minute walk from the convention center so the location as reasonable. The room service was well done, they even will deliver ice to your door do you don't have to go get it. The room is spacious and the shower was huge, big enough to lay flat 2 or 3 people in. Overall a good experience.

Have went to the bar here a couple times for friends' events, not actually stayed at the hotel. However, the food and drink is good at and the bar's outside portion, which is a courtyard in the middle of the hotel which is built around it, is great! Especially if you're able to sit under some of the umbrellas or cabanas. Also, the decor of the lobby is something to stop in and see just on its own! Think Alice in Wonderland!

Stayed one night at the Mason & Rook hotel, it was a pretty good experience. Not sure that the resort fee got me anything I wouldn't at a normal hotel. Also it was very hot outside, which may be the reason, but the air conditioning in the room was struggling to cool down the room. Overall, the room and bathroom were very nice and the bed was very comfortable.

The hotel itself is beautiful if a bit sterile. I had stayed at the Helix, which was renovated to become this hotel and it was much more low key and less uptight. I wasn't able to check into my room until 4 for some reason, but it wasn't too much of an inconvenience. Overall, if I was traveling for work again, I'd come back.

Great experience. Staff was welcoming, attentive and responsive to our requests and needs. Perfectly situated near many great restaurants, bars and shops giving you tons to do. Neighborhood felt safe enough for my pregnant wife and I to walk around at night. Only feedback I'd offer would be that room service took a little longer than I would have liked but given it was a busy weekend hotel with a wedding and several local events filling up the hotel, a delay is fair and expected. Would strongly recommend.

The Mason and Rook is located just a few blocks from DuPont Circle and by several local restaurants. The neighborhood is young and trendy with lots of local hangouts. The hotel is located off of Rhode Island on a quiet block. A small circular drive provides just enough parking for the boutique - like hotel. A small lobby provides a few seating vignettes to meet up with friends. There is a bar and restaurant off the lobby. While the breakfast is nothing special and pretty overpriced, our dinner and drinks there were superb. The room was quite large and we were able to comfortably fit out luggage, travel crib, roll out bed, and stroller in the room and still have room to walk around. Each room had extra large windows offering huge views of the city. The bathroom was large with a luxurious rain shower and high end toiletries. Modern in detail and quiet in atmosphere, the hotel was staffed with personable and helpful employee.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms was a nice size space. Not often you see a room with 2 beds also have usable space. And the bathroom was huge (tub, separate shower, and water closet) The design and decor is sort of a mix of classic, rustic, and modern that mixes just right and is appealing.

This hotel staff went above and beyond to make our stay truly outstanding. The decor was warm, interesting and inviting. The coffee and tea in the morning was delicious as was the wine and snacks in the evening. The staff were the real stars though. They let us check in early after a red eye flight so we could get some rest, put us in a gorgeous, huge room and even held a package for us. Upon learning we were there to elope they moved us into an even more incredible room with surprise chocolate dipped fruit and prosecco! They had all the last minute things we need, like safety pins and we so helpful! The restaurant had a cool Vine, delicious food and outstanding drinks, including real whiskey sours! I can't say enough nice things about the staff here. They helped us with our bags, doors, elevators... Anything we needed. I will stay here as often as I can!!

This is a REALLY nice hotel. The room we stayed in was immaculate, and the staff are very pleasant and helpful. They lend out bicycles to guests. There were a few shortcomings, though. When I booked the room, the reservation information said free Internet was included, but literature in the room said it would be part of an extra $21/day "package". As we were just staying for one night, I didn't feel like hashing it out with the front desk.

Our king room was spacious, but there was only one chair -- a desk chair, so there was nowhere to sit and put up my feet while waiting for my spouse to get ready, unless I took off my shoes. The gorgeous bathroom had zero towel racks. The huge television (at least 5' wide) had 40-some channels, all of which were clearly identified by network but provided no information about the programs that were playing. (I have a smaller television made by the same company and no cable, but I can still get schedule information from it.) The TV was also kind of amusing in that it had a series of menus concerning amenities and nearby sites for some other city.

If I were visiting Washington again, I might stay here again, but I would look around to see if there were better deals.

We met with a friend for the free wine hour, which started about 10 minutes late, but it was free and the wine was better than anticipated. After wine hour, we had a drink at the bar. The bartenders were all quite pleasant and attentive. The drinks were also good. Great experience.

We loved our stay at the Mason and Took. The decor was up to date with spacious rooms and modern comfortable furnishings. But the real stand out was the customer service. Every single employee was friendly, welcoming, professional and went above and beyond to be helpful The front desk staff, the door man, the housekeeping staff, and the bartender each provided memorable customer service. If you do stay, remember to stop by for the wine social hour, the hot chai tea bourbon cocktails were the perfect touch after a cold day.

Our room wasn't ready until forty minutes after check in time. The room itself was very nice, but very noisy in the evening. The bedroom was adjacent to a garden roof filled with crickets that chirped all night. The living room where the kids slept was right above the entrance of the hotel. People yelling and going in and out at 2:30 am was unpleasant. I understand guest behavior is not the fault of the hotel, but the architectural design was lacking in thought with the placement of our room. The roof deck pool was a disappointment. It is very small and closes at four, which means that we didn't even get to enjoy it. The stairwell closest to our room was a fire hazard. We couldn't even get in because there were room service trays and bags of trash blocking the stairwell. The valet parking, which was $48 plus a hefty tax, was not convenient. Multiple times we were left waiting 10+ minutes before someone even became available to assist us. Overall, the staff was pleasant, but not especially helpful. My impression is that the hotel is understaffed and mismanaged. The one saving grace was a really nice brunch experience at the hotel restaurant, Radiator. Interesting and tasty food options, combined with some giant sized yard games made for a unique and worthy experience. We had a much better stay at the Kimpton Donovan in DC last month.

This is a gorgeously designed hotel in a great location.

I was able to run down to the White House and National Mall from the hotel, and then finish my morning exercise with free cold brew coffee in their lobby. Free wine hour at 5 pm was a major plus too.

The views from their rooftop pool and lounge, as well as my 10th floor room were wonderful. WiFi was free and worked well. I would stay here again.

We loved this hotel! There were a couple of things in that room that were "broken down", but nothing major. We were able to bring our dog and everyone was super nice and loving with her, which was a major plus. I was kind of bummed with the area close to the hotel, but I think that's how most of DC is. The beds were super comfy and the decor was cozy. We would definitely stay again!

The best place ever! I had a great experience, I asked them very specific requests and they exceeded my expectations. I had the chance to use their bikes (very stylish by the way) to go around DC, also the wine reception is awesome and not to mention the design of the room…all new and great taste! The location is very convenient to walk around and eat in nice restaurants! I will come back for sure!
