ISO 14001

ISO 14001 is an internationally accepted standard that outlines how to put an effective environmental management system in place. It is designed to help businesses remain commercially successful without overlooking environmental responsibilities, such as:

• Improve their environmental performance constantly
• Comply with local and national regulations and other requirements subscribed
• Prevent water, air and ground pollution hazards
• Control and optimise water and energy consumption
• Promote waste recycling and recovery
• Raise environmental awareness among employees and train them to adopt good practices in their activity

ISO 50001 provides a framework of requirements for organizations to:
- Develop a policy for more efficient use of energy
- Fix targets and objectives to meet the policy
- Use data to better understand and make decisions about energy use
- Measure the results
- Review how well the policy works, and
- Continually improve energy management.

Nice rooms, good service, and basic free breakfast. They had a basic pool and hot tub. The courtyard was nice with a place to grill outdoors. The prices are high though.

Hotel was clean and rooms were comfortable. Staff was mostly friendly but when checking in we were told the rooms are not guaranteed. We requested a joining rooms but got 2 rooms next to each other.

Very friendly people. Very clean. Nice breakfast. Comfortable rooms. A bit lame gym, but oh well, it's not sport oriented hotel, so all is good.

Great hotel! The staff was very professional and helpful! The hotel itself is very new and modern. Rooms are suites so if you're looking for space, this is the perfect location! It's also easy to get to as it's right off 94 and a new restaurant, Black Rock, opened up 300 feet from the hotel and we enjoyed dinner there. Overall, I highly recommend this location!

Homewood Suites by Hilton in Portage/Kalamazoo was one of the nicest hotels I’ve ever had the pleasure of staying in. The hotel was clean, spacious, and modern. Our room had two beds, and both were fitted with comfortable pillows and sheets-a relief after driving for hours. Two televisions were set up, one in the bedroom and one in the ‘living room’. This place was huge! There was a kitchenette with a full size fridge and freezer, a small stove top, and a dishwasher with cups and dishes in the cupboards. But you certainly wouldn’t need these; the complimentary breakfast was amazing! Hot eggs, potatoes, and bacon with a variety of bagels and pastries paired with classic cereals is certainly enough to satisfy any adult (or kid) and fuel them for the rest of the day. The hotel felt like a home, and it was so relaxing to have as a stop before hitting the road again.

Very clean and staff was very helpful nice rooms we had birthday partys heherin the lounge earlier and cleaned to perfection. While we are getting ready to lay down we get a phone call that we are being loud..mind you its nothing but footsteps so ok we all got in bed and then the phonw rings again that we are being loud to the point of she is about to call the police? She as in the lady below us. I dont think we will be back here. Before these calls of us apparently being very loud they would of got 5 stars from me.

Lets be honest...the rooms are excellent at this Home Wood Suites. The rest of the facility needs a good cleaning/service overhaul. Dingy hallway carpeting, burned out lights in the stairway areas and the lobby/dining area has grease spots all over the furniture. The place is nice, don't get me wrong, it just needs some staff input. Maybe even a team of cleaners to come in and give it a once over. Seems to me that this shortcoming of cleanliness is a local management issue. Take pride in your facility, please! Oh, and open the pool, it needs to be open if people are staying with you.

Husband and I stayed in the 1 bedroom king suite with our toddler and it worked perfectly for our family! The room was entirely updated with nice finishes: full size fridge, granite countertops, stovetop range, dishwasher etc. The bedroom and living room had separate thermostats too which worked well for our toddler who slept in the living room area in a pack 'n play. The breakfast was also excellent! Definitely recommend this room type/hotel for a small family. We look forward to staying again!

10

Very nice rooms, we only stayed one night, but would have been nice for an extended stay. Our room had a kitchette with 2 cooktops, full dishwasher, sink, standard refrigerator and some dishes. It was basically like a studio apartment. Would stay again if we got a good deal. We generally don't need all of that stuff, especially for just one night, so I'd stay elsewhere if there was a decent option with a lower price, but when we stayed it was the cheapest 3+ star hotel we could find.

Really enjoyed our stay here 12/15-16. The staff was quite friendly and accommodating when we needed to change rooms because we were traveling with our dog. First-floor room was much appreciated.

Spacious and comfortable rooms. Nice breakfast buffet in an inviting lounge area. Would definitely stay there again when we're in the area.

The one bedroom suites are spacious and decently priced. The hotel itself looks really nice, and the fitness center and pool are great. The free breakfast is average... some days it has been good (hard boiled eggs, waffle maker, plenty of choices) and one day it was less than that (the above 2 specifics weren't there). My main complaint this time is super sinking/not firm pillows (could be a positive for some) and really rough bed sheets. I don't remember those being a problem when I was here last year though.

Comfortable and quite. One of the better places to stay but the lady at the front desk was all out rude. I asked for a king bed suite and she basically was either assuming I was joking or couldn't afford it, her demeaned was hinting toward the latter. I had to ask 3 times for her to just book the room and give me a key to a suite with a king bed.

Nice large lobby plenty of things to do. One wish is that all indoor pools could be designed to reduce the amount of noise. Feels like you are inside a jet engine.

4.5 - hard bed

Very nice hotel with the average hilton breakfast. Loved the room (king studio), had soft carpet, full sized fridge, granite counters, and an excellent shower (pressure, size, and temp control). Only con was the bed - it was very firm and uncomfortable to sleep on. Left our backs aching.

One of the most pleasant stays we have ever had. We stayed in a double queen studio, which is considered a small room. It was actually 2 rooms, extremely spacious and clean. The staff was so friendly. We arrived at 1am and they were very accommodating and helpful. Got us a pack and plant for the baby. I can't tell you how many times hotels have said sorry "housecleaning is gone" or "it's too late". The nice woman at the front desk went up and got it for us herself. I highly recommend this hotel.

After our home was damaged in a fire, our family needed a place to stay where we could bring our dog and three cats. Our next-door neighbor recommended Homewood Suites after hearing positive things about the hotel from some out of town co-workers, some of whom had pets. We spent two weeks at Homewood Suites and can't find a single negative thing to say about the hotel. All the staff members were friendly and helpful and made us feel welcome and at home. (Zoe, our dog, thought the big jar of treats behind the front desk was a particularly nice touch.) Our room was clean, quiet, had a cute little kitchenette and even had a nice view. The hot breakfast in the morning offered nice choices which differed from day to day and were more than just bagels & cream cheese and cold cereal. We also really enjoyed the "Welcome Home" meal served from 5-7pm Monday through Thursday. It was really convenient and saved us from having to get take-out those evenings. Other amenities included a laundry room (which we made use of to wash some of our clothes so we'd have something to wear!) as well as a pool, hot tub, fitness center, "office area" with computers available for use, and in-room WiFi. If you need a place to stay, whether for business or pleasure, and especially if you want to bring your pets with you, I encourage you consider the Homewood Suites.

The room was great. The check in and check out were a nightmare. Double charged for the room. Not worth the trouble. They gave me 2 free waters for all my troubles. Extra charges still on my credit card. I wont be back.

This is a very nice, clean hotel. The rooms are perfect. Furnished with pots and pans and kitchen utensils. Which made cooking our big family food, much easier. The hot tub had a mishap when someonne vomitted in it. It was cleaned and reopened by 8 am the next morning though. A plus for all the adults in our group. We booked through expedia. The hotel gave our room away. I was bummed. We reserved a week in advance for the 2 room suite. The hotel did offer two adjoining rooms to accommodate. Which was ok but I was charged the rate of the 2 room suite. After nicely discussing it, the hotel said they will credit me for the rate of a one room suite. We are still working those details out. But so far I am pleased by the kindness. I would certainly return for a stay.

I just spent a week at the Homewood Suites. Let me tell you, this was the best experience I've ever had at a hotel. The staff was super nice, very friendly, and were ready to assist with all my needs. I'd like to send a great big thanks to Rob, Emily, Rhonda, and Bonnie for really going above and beyond my expectations, and doing their best to make me feel at home. I would not even have a second thought about returning to this hotel again. Excellent service!

We had an extended stay at Homewood Suites and felt so comfortable there!
The staff was very friendly and helpful! Our little dog was welcomed and there was an outside pet area with bags available.
We enjoyed the breakfasts which usually included eggs, bacon or sausage, potatoes, fruit, oatmeal, cereal, drinks and more. Dinners were available Monday-Thursday,
The suites are wonderfully large and comfortable! Thank you for serving us well!!

A fairly new Hotel with sizable Suites with a well appointed Kitchen for preparing meals if desired, a nice exercise room, a nice Saltwater Pool & Hot Tub and ample parking close to numerous restaurants and other shopping.

I might add Pet Friendly with an awesome Breakfast Buffet to start your morning right. Nice patio with gas grills and plenty of outdoor seating.

We'll be back again.
