ISO 14001

ISO 14001 is an internationally accepted standard that outlines how to put an effective environmental management system in place. It is designed to help businesses remain commercially successful without overlooking environmental responsibilities, such as:

• Improve their environmental performance constantly
• Comply with local and national regulations and other requirements subscribed
• Prevent water, air and ground pollution hazards
• Control and optimise water and energy consumption
• Promote waste recycling and recovery
• Raise environmental awareness among employees and train them to adopt good practices in their activity

ISO 50001 provides a framework of requirements for organizations to:
- Develop a policy for more efficient use of energy
- Fix targets and objectives to meet the policy
- Use data to better understand and make decisions about energy use
- Measure the results
- Review how well the policy works, and
- Continually improve energy management.

I stayed at this location multiple times when working in Oakland over the years. The main reason I stayed here was because the price was cheaper than other Hilton properties. The views of the waterfront are lovely. The cleanliness and upgrading of the room features needs to be improved, very much so.

Mark was one of this hotel's crews. He was very accommodating, helpful, and effective for his assigned jobs. The quality of service He provided was deeply brilliant for me. He strives to provide us the best service that exceeds our expectations. It was a nice experience for me for the first time. Superior hotel service!

The breakfast at this hotel was over the top! Everything was freshly cooked and delicious. There was even food in the evening with a happy hour. The room was way larger than expected and everything was clean and comfortable. Will stay here again. Extremely friendly staff too.

What a great location. The hotel is situated right on the water. There is a Starbucks within walking distance which was a nice added bonus. Rooms were nice and clean, and there was a nice complimentary breakfast. The staff was great. Would 100% stay here again.

Our family of five booked the two room suite. It worked great. There was plenty of space and the hotel hot tub and pool area provided space to relax. Easy on and off the highway. Hotel was clean and staff was friendly.

Had an awful expierence the first night. Came in to California arriving on a 2am flight making it so we did not arrive at the hotel until 3 am. While the hotel was made aware that we'd be arrive around 3am somehow our reservation was cancelled as a no show. Sat in the lobby for an hour while the front desk attendant attempt to remedy the situation. Mind you there was zero communication of what exactly was going on unless prometrd by questions from my boyfriend. Eventually we were given a room temporarily until the am and then switched the next day. The remainder of the stay was nice, the rooms were clean and the complimentary breakfast was great! All staff was friendly and helpful aside from the encounter the first night.

Good service and rooms are nice. Parking is a bit limited depending on the time of day. Convenient location, not far from downtown Oakland, Lake Merritt, and transit. Hotel shuttle service is awesome, and will take you to any of those locations, plus some! Would recommend to anyone needing a hotel stay in Oakland.

The hotel canceled our reservations 'automatically' at 2 AM. We arrived just short of 3am after they were advised twice we we were flying in and landing at 2am, so they should have understood we would be there after the 2 am cutoff and planned accordingly.

It took over an hour to get into the wrong room (we moved to the appropriate room the next day). Naomi at the front desk was uncommunicative, rude, and repeatedly lied to her colleagues on the diamond desk, as well as to us and the individual who booked the room. She told us, among other things, that the reason we were standing in their lobby till 4am is because the automated system removed our reservation, and it could not be fixed easily as we had paid by points and a secondary payment method. Not true, we paid for the room solely in points. She also charged both my card and the card of the person booking, for incidentals. 200$ on one card, 50$ on another. She also told the person who booked the room that I refused to provide a card for incidentals. This was after the $50 hold was placed on the card. All of this occurred while the person I was traveling with slept in a chair in their lobby as it was 6am our time and we had just flown in through the night across country.

The rest of the staff was very kind and helpful, though they were quick to make varied and contradictory excuses for their colleague Naomi. Outside of the issue with Naomi, I'm very happy with the service we received from the rest of the staff.

The first night, our room was road side, and even as exausted as we were at 4 am when we got in the room, we both hardly slept. The front of the hotel is across the street from a multi-lane highway. We also reported an issue with the refrigerator in the second room we were in to the front desk. It made a high-pitched squealing sound while the compressor was on. They came and replaced a dead bulb in the kitchen, so we know they came, but their attempt to repair the fridge was unsuccessful, or they did not observe it when they visited. The fridge also had a hole in the freezer where something had melted through, so I'm frankly surprised it was still in the room after they came out and inspected the appliance.

The final or second to last day, when we went to the desk for something and spoke to another front desk associate, Naomi came out but did not work with us. She did, however, point us out saying "that's them" to her colleague as we walked away.

This was not what I have come to expect from Hilton.

I'll keep this brief because nothing was extremely bad. The suite was comfy and felt like home with all the amenities, including a full-size fridge, dishes and stove. We were on the third floor, which had a small balcony and the view of the lake (?) was lovely. The fitness room is pretty small.

I just stayed here with family for a Thursday and Friday night. The actual rooms are adequate, if a bit on the old side. We had a room facing the water which was pleasant - it was literally a few steps from the door to our building to the water. I had to sleep on the pullout bed during this stay and I don't expect much from that, but it was extremely uncomfortable. I literally couldn't sleep on my side because of the springs jabbing into me. M-Thu nights there are complimentary drinks and snacks in the lobby which is nice. We had surprisingly decent nachos with carnitas. The complimentary breakfast is a bit hit or miss. Some good and some bad dishes each morning, with consistently decent eggs and awful coffee. The biggest impact on my rating was the complete lack of all water for one of these nights. There were signs posted on our rooms when we arrived stating this, which I believe was not actually the fault of the hotel. What was the fault of the hotel was not notifying us of this before we arrived or during the check in process, and not offering any discount or compensation for an unpleasant night without a shower, working sinks, or a working toilet. On top of this I was informed by my family that they stayed here once in a prior year and didn't have hot water!

The property itself is beautiful, and the rooms are well furnished. The back patio was trashed. I don't blame the hotel, I blame the people who left it that way, however the trash can was overflowing, food and garbage left put everywhere. It looked like the aftermath of a huge house party. Needless to say, it was very off putting. For as much as this hotel charges per night, I expect the property to be maintained to a certain level. Was not impressed.

The good: breakfast is great - well-cooked, plentiful, good choices. The bad: Tiny room. Tiny bathroom. They called it a "standard room" but to me it seemed way smaller than any Hilton type room we've seen before. It was a lot more like a quality inn-type room. The room was in an old building which needs a total overhaul remodel. Also the location is isn't great. You're a way from the city but still have loads of bad traffic and noise. Would not recommend this hotel.

stayed for one night and would love to go back to this hotel again. In addition to the rooms being very nice, the front desk attendant asked what time I needed to be out the door to make my flight and made sure there was breakfast available to me even though they normally did not have anyone cooking that early. I would rate my experience 4 stars after staying at this hotel for 5 days.
Pros:
Staff – The staff at this hotel were very nice and helpful throughout my stay.
Free Breakfast – The Breakfast is a hot breakfast and the eggs were very good.
Free Dinner – They offered free dinner Mon-Thur between 5-7. I only ate the free dinner one day and I would rate it a 3.
Free Beer and Wine – They offer free beer and wine Mon-Thur between 5-7. I did not take advantage of this but it is awesome that they do this.
Room – I would give my room 4. I would easily give it a 5 except for the smoke smell (See Cons). The room was very spacious with a full kitchen. I was a little disappointed that the hotel didn’t give shuttle service to grocery store but they have a rule about going that far.
Lobby/Common Areas – I would give these areas 5 stars. The lobby/common areas were kept clean and inviting with free papers and fruit.
Room Service – My room was clean when I arrived and it was cleaned well when I had it cleaned in the middle of the week but they missed my room and didn’t clean it the day before I left. I didn’t tell the front desk because it wasn’t a big deal and I didn’t want it cleaned while I was occupying the room. Just an observation.
Cons:
Smoke Smell – It wasn’t until my last night I starting getting an extremely strong smoke smell from my bathroom. It was so strong I thought someone was smoking in my room. I put my fan on and closed my door for a while but the smell stayed until I feel sleep. In the morning I opened my bathroom door and the bathroom smelt like an ash tray. I think what happened is my exhaust fan is connected to multiple rooms that share the same exhaust tub leading outside and someone was smoking in the bathroom with the fan on and it was going into my bathroom through the vent. I didn’t contact the front desk because it was my last night and they would not have been able to track the person who was smoking down anyhow.
Highway Noise – If you are a light sleeper, ask for a room on the bay side. I got a room on the highway side and if I were a light sleeper, I would have found it hard to fall asleep. I am a heavy sleeper so it didn’t bother me but I can see why light sleepers complained about this noise.
Not near public transportation – Taking public transportation, I would take the Bart (subway) to Lake Merritt from Powell Station in San Francisco for $3.50, and then an Uber to the hotel at a cost of around $6. I would have been nice if the shuttle would have picked me up from the station 1.2 miles away, but that was too far for the shuttle.
Pool – I visited this hotel the middle of Feb and the pool and hot tub were closed.

The rooms are a bit dated but the vaulted ceilings on the 3rd floor of the satellite building are nice. The front staff was very nice and courteous. The water view definitely isn't something I'd pay extra for in the future, it's really just a boat dock and a short connection point to the bay.

If anyone is looking for a great deal on hotels you can check it out on HotelRaven. com Booked this hotel on there and they had the cheapest rates around...

Hotel is currently undergoing a renovation, which I wish we knew before we booked. That being said the construction isn't loud or disturbing but does make it more difficult to access the lobby and breakfast area. Hotel has a nice outdoor dining area, which if it were warmer would be something I'd take advantage of. The hotel is conveniently located off the freeway but again, the noise from the highway is not loud or disturbing (we are in a corner room adjacent to the lobby but waterfront side). There's not much around bit there is a beer garden, a Subway, and a Starbucks within walking distance. The hotel has all the amenities we require and is safe and clean. Staff is accommodating and friendly.

The bad: it's front-facing the 980 freeway, the complimentary breakfast isn't great. The good: it's just gone through a renovation, and it shows! The room is nicely done, there's plenty of natural light though the windows (but specify a room facing the marina, not the freeway). There's a nice kitchenette with pots, pans, eating utensils, a stove,a microwave,a fridge, as well as a washcloth anda sponge to clean up the dishes!

Right off the freeway, the hotel was easy to find. The parking lot was packed, but we luckily found a single spot. The staff was very friendly. The room was underwhelming--the decorations were from the 80s and it was small-ish for the price. The continental breakfast was great though!
