ISO 14001

ISO 14001 is an internationally accepted standard that outlines how to put an effective environmental management system in place. It is designed to help businesses remain commercially successful without overlooking environmental responsibilities, such as:

• Improve their environmental performance constantly
• Comply with local and national regulations and other requirements subscribed
• Prevent water, air and ground pollution hazards
• Control and optimise water and energy consumption
• Promote waste recycling and recovery
• Raise environmental awareness among employees and train them to adopt good practices in their activity

ISO 50001 is based on the management system model of continual improvement also used for other well-known standards such as ISO 9001 or ISO 14001. This makes it easier for organizations to integrate energy management into their overall efforts to improve quality and environmental management.

ISO 50001 provides a framework of requirements for organizations to:
- Develop a policy for more efficient use of energy
- Fix targets and objectives to meet the policy
- Use data to better understand and make decisions about energy use
- Measure the results
- Review how well the policy works, and
- Continually improve energy management.

Been here 2 times, staff was friendly the first time and the second time they were really rude. Seen other reviews have a hit or miss with staff attitudes. Rooms could be better a bit outdated, close to the hospital. Needs better customer service. I’ll be going somewhere else.

Beautiful hotel that offers full breakfast and an evening social. Rooms are spacious and well maintained. Staff is very attentive and friendly. The biggest surprise was that they have walk in closets! In regards to location, the hotel is in the perfect spot...close to everything.

The location is perfect and the staff is friendly as well as helpful. We made some requests on our way back in and were met at our suite. I appreciate that type of service. The facilities are in need of an update. The shared Mezzanine level was definitely not staffed. Coffee and water servers were cool or empty.

This hotel is a good value and great for families. Free breakfast. Windows don’t open. Great location. Each room is a spacious suite and we were able to get a rate for under 300 with valet parking included. The hotel is definitely dated and not the cleanest. It’s nice there is a roof pool, but it’s very cold. The elevator situation can be a huge pain, but we ended up taking the stairs a lot. There is no one to help with bags if you need it. Overall it’s a no frills hotel that’s a good value in the middle of Chicago. This is our second time and I’d go back with the family for sure.

Great hotel for families. Rooftop pool was nice but got chilly. A hot tub would have been nice. Free breakfast and social hour Monday to Thursday was convenient. Massive negative was the elevators. They were sooo slow and jam packed. During breakfast, I waited 20 min for an elevator and people would commonly take the elevator up, just to get space to go down

We absolutely enjoyed our stay- perfect location, clean and spacious rooms with great customer serviceere are a lot of reviews about the elevators- we stayed on the 33rd floor and didn’t have an issue (stayed 3 days). It’s downtown Chicago with a killer location. If the elevator situation is the biggest challenge, I’ll take it. My family loved the rooftop pool, the breakfast and reception each day.

Great location, nice beds, but the rooms are a little small. Fine if you're just staying for a few nights or if there aren't 4 of you staying in a room.

It's a very large room in a great location for the price.
Seperate living room and dining table with kitchen.
Comes with a free breakfast which has hot and cold selection. Wish they had healthy options for cereal... Currently only super high selection.
It's about a 2 min walk to magnificent mile so your close to everything.
If you want all the service with bell boys, amazing concierge then maybe it's better to go to the standard hilton otherwise this is a great place to stay.

Overall stay was pleasant. Chicken soup during night reception was good. If I had a complaint it would be the air in hotel was so dry and the bed was extremely soft.

Our 1 bdr suite was large clean and comfy. We also had a great view as we were up high. Health club and pool on roof awesome and you must check out view. Staff was exceptional, helpful and friendly. Location great for shopping and museum as long as you like walking. One star off for bad tea selection, actually no selection for hot tea. Lipton regular only. No herbal or good tea.

Just okay. They do provide breakfast which is pretty good. Would be nice to have bacon. The area was freezing cold when I was there. The adjoining bar/restaurant closes super early considering we were there on a weekend. The location is good but orientation of the room was awkward.

Just stayed at Homewood Suites this past weekend and it was fantastic! We had a suite on the 16th floor with lovely views. I will definitely be staying here again. The staff were wonderful, excellent location for shopping & having a full kitchen was very useful!

Very small space and not at all what the pictures show. One bathroom and it only has one entrance through the main bedroom area so if you have people in the kitchen area they need to go through the bedroom. Had to call to have the room cleaned by late afternoon (close to dinner). They were quick to bring up extra towels. No cocktail hour during the weekend! Breakfast time was busy which was fine but there were no tables available and they could have opened up the extra dining area.

The only standout great thing about this hotel is its location. I understand this is only a 3 star hotel, but I've stayed at ones nicer than this. First was parking there is a very misleading sign about $20 parking that has small text that $20 parking is only for certain hours and days of the week. That's how they sucker you into the $60 valet parking. There wasn't even the option to park the car myself. The second thing is that the climate control unit in the room was always blowing. When the heater reached the desired room temperature, the cold air kicked on. Every time it came on it sounded like it was getting hit with a hammer, which isnt helpful when trying to sleep. Finally the bathroom wallpaper was peeling. Next time I'll pay a little extra money for a nicer hotel somewhere else.

This hotel was perfect. We went with our two kids, the room was spacious for them to play, had a small kitchenette fully equipped (dishwasher included), we had a room with a beautifil view. We went had a small dinner some days of the week. I recommend it and would definetely go back!

Really big room, big fridge, microwave, toaster, stove, and dishwasher! Big comfy bed too. The AC kind of sucked though - freezing when on, and too hot when off. Free breakfast every morning, and free dinner M-Th in a special key-entry lounge on the mezzanine with a great view.

I just wanted to thank Tangela and Tiffany. My grandmother had to have emergency open heart surgery at Northwestern and my mother needed a room last minute. Tangela wasn't able to find anything for us but ran us down when Tiffany told her she had one room from the night.

They went above and beyond their duties to ensure that we were able to stay as close to the hospital as possible and we are eternally grateful. You guys have an incredible staff.

A good hotel if you want to be near Michigan Avenue and the Magnificent Mile, but also a pricey spot when you add on local taxes and the $60 a night parking.
Pool is small and on the roof, so while the view is great, weather is unpredictable and not that many can actually enjoy it without it feeling crowded.
Breakfast was good with lots of options to choose from.

The suite is spacious and kitchen area is well equipped. Hot breakfast is included and good. Located near shops, Red Line and a beach. Only gripe is the slow elevators for the number of floors in the building.

7

It has great service and rooms to stay in. It has a small entrance to get to an elevator that will bring you to the lobby which sometimes the elevator takes awhile to come when it's busy (feels like you have a long wait) but once you get on the elevator it's pretty fast. The price is good, except I wished it had a better breakfast that had a bigger room. It's very cramped at breakfast and they don't have the greatest selection but it is free.

Great accommodations, good breakfast food, and a wonderful location and view. The staff were friendly and helpful, and we very much enjoyed the stay - would definitely stay there in Chicago again. Our only criticism would be that the elevators are VERY slow, which can create a bit of a traffic jam in the morning, but staff do what they can to alleviate the problem.

Awesome stay in a king suite! Our room was on the 37th floor with both lake and downtown views located a block off of Michigan avenue. The pool and exercise equipment were on the top of the building with excellent views the pool was open air. Warning-the lobby is shared with a Hampton Inn so make sure you go to the right desk to save time.

Rooms were very clean and well stocked. Extra pillows and blankets were already on hand for the fold out bed, and a crib was available as requested. Continental breakfast was very good. Only gripe was the elevator availability, waiting over fifteen minutes for an elevator at times.

I normally don't post reviews for a hotel unless my experience has been extremely negative or extremely positive. In this case, my experience was very positive. I spent four nights at this hotel while my wife was having surgery at the nearby Northwestern Medical Center (it is just around the corner). My wife joined me for the last two nights during her recovery. From the time we checked in to our checkout we were treated very well. Our room was comfortable, food (Happy Hour and breakfast) was plentiful and delicious. And the location was convenient to my daily visits to the hospital. Living 2 plus hours away from home was not ideal but the Homewood Suites felt like home to me. Thanks for being there during this stressful time in our lives. By the way... my wife is recovering well!

Stayed in the suite for 3 nights. I think I'd probably not stay again if/when I return to Chicago though. Not that the experience was horrible or anything it was just pretty underwhelming. We chose the hotel because we had 3 people crammed in a small room for a week at out last stop on our trip. So we wanted a bit more space, it did come with some compromises though. Pros: -Spacious room -AC in both bedroom and main room -Nice view (39th floor) -Fairly good location for food/drink -Ample charging/power outlets Cons -Near hospital. Sirens are not enough to wake you up, but very audible while awake. -Elevator is fairly loud while in main room, and those who get off it can be clearly heard even speaking quietly -AC unit was missing a screw to hold the grate in and was rattling very loudly. -Beds are uncomfortable. -No Ethernet wall plug, wifi was awful.

This hotel has large living areas with kitchenette space and good views of the downtown scene. The city noise is pervasive indicating less than insulated windows, but you'll likely only notice it at night when the fire department tires rolls by. The room I'm in currently has a bit of a day to the floor which leaves me feeling a bit uneasy when walking around, but I'm certain most people won't notice.

As they boasted, felt like home. I have stayed at other suite hotels but nothing like this. Quite nice environment. Great room complete with open kitchen and living room. 2 flat screen TVs. Toiletries with Neutrogena brand. Complete with complimentary breakfast. Bed was on the soft side. And elevator was slow. Other than these 2, perfect experience.

Homewood Suites are my favorite hotels. Super spacious and a kitchen makes it easy to be away from home.

This location is great because it's walking distance from, shopping, fooding, bars, lakes and best of all even if you don't get a room with a view. You can still go to the 40th floor where the rooftop pool and fitness center is and catch a phenomenal view of Lake Michigan, Willis Tower , 360 and more!
