Homewood is my favorite Hilton hotel. They have a nice renovated lobby. The best part was the reception in the evening. One night they had Mac and Cheese and pork sliders. They also do serve drinks. Right next door to Walmart. Owners do a good job maintaining the property. Love the ceiling fan in the bedroom. Will be back.

Very affordable hotel, clean and friendly, helpful staff. The room was spacious and clean, and most importantly the bed was comfortable. For a few nights stay while at an away hockey tournament, this was ideal. Would definitely stay here again.

We visited family that was staying here for the weekend. The rooms are fairly nice (they had a one bedroom suite), but the hallways had a bit of an odor and very dated looking carpet. Kids loved using the pool but I personally found the area surrounding the pool to be kind of dirty.

Staff is excellent, we were checked in and out by an exceptional employee by the name if Piper. Piper was so friendly and genuine. We have stayed there three times in the last month and each time we get a warm friendly greating. The kitchen staff is also great, attending to our every need. Thanks again to Piper, Katisha, Mercede and Kailey. The cook is also fantastic but I don't know her name because she spends most of her time in the back preparing fantastic food.

I had to visit Detroit twice within a 3 week period, and while I initially chose this hotel for its proximity to my work site, I chose it on my second trip because it met all of my needs. Not only was the staff warm and welcoming, but the rooms and beds were comfortable. I had a room with a bedroom and a king size bed on the first trip, and a room with a queen size bed on the second trip. Both rooms were great.

There is a wal-mart in the adjacent parking lot, within easy walking distance even in sub freezing temperatures. That makes it easy to get food and other necessities. The hotel also has a program where they will go grocery shopping for you and deliver your groceries to your room. I did not need to use this option but I can think of times when I wish that I could have.

This hotel is definitely tops on my list for needing to come to Detroit and stay near Troy.

I attended a social media seminar at this hotel. The room was fairly comfortable but it was small and the hotel was not visible from normal traffic. I cannot comment on much else considering I did not stay at this hotel.

This is a nice place to stay if you are in the area. I called and made a reservation about 15 minutes before I showed up, and check in was very smooth. They actually upgraded my room for me, and the room is quite nice. There is more space than most hotels, and you have a little kitchen. I would stay here again.

Wonderful hotel and staff. Breakfast was great. Only complaint was that all the handicapped rooms where located at the end of the halls on all floors a great distance from the elevator; which made coming and going difficult.

Everything was fine with the exception of the pillows on the bed. They were far too big and they were very hard and uncomfortable. I don't know why they don't have some smaller pillows that are softer. I can't be the only person who finds huge hard pillows to be uncomfortable. Plus the breakfast offerings are not as good as they used to be. I stay at this hotel every Christmas with my family for the past several years. In past years they had individual single size Greek yogurt offered in the dining room for breakfast. This year they had a big covered trough of yogurt that had a plastic cover over it. I was not about to eat any of the yogurt from that. The woman in the dining room said that 'corporate' decided to change the way the yogurt was offered from individual sealed containers to the big trough with a ladle. She said that some guests had even put a scoop of the yogurt in the waffle maker not realizing that it was yogurt. This loses points with me because I really enjoy a few containers of Greek yogurt with breakfast and was quite disappointed when I got down to the dining room and found that there wasn't any.

A very comfortable hotel with great amenities such as stovetops and kitchen cutlery. The staff was amazingly helpful and very friendly, and the beds were quite comfortable.
The downside, at least in the room I was in, is that it's loud. The walls are much thinner than I would expect for such a nice hotel.
I would definitely stay again, but I would try for a top floor room.

It was a nice place, and the staff was friendly and greeted me whenever I passed them in the halls. The biggest issue was that the "no smoking" rule was not strongly enforced. There were people smoking right outside the entrance, in front of the sign that said specifically not to smoke by the entrance.

My husband and I were matched at the last minute with a mother to adopt our baby girl. We chose to stay at this hotel, and we could not be more grateful to the staff! The room was amazing and perfect for us as we adjusted to having a new child in a city far from home. We were treated super kindly by everyone at the hotel. The staff accommodated our changing needs and were quick to bring us any items we needed in our room. We even had staff members volunteer help unsolicited which was incredibly kind. And we were floored when the staff delivered a gift basket to our room for our daughter congratulating us on our little miracle. The stay in this wonderful hotel has altered our view of what hotel stays can be like forever. And in the future anytime we need to travel, we will certainly be looking for a nearby Homewood Suites. Because truly - no other hotel can compare!

I was visiting a work colleague who was visiting from overseas and was being put up in this hotel for 4 months. The room offered more than a typical overnight room you might see at most hotels. There was a full sized fridge and a stove which made the place much more livable for an extended stay. The bedroom was pretty spacious even with what appeared to be a king sized bed. Daily housekeeping visits meant the place was always looking tidy. It seemed like a rather pleasant thing to come home to after a long day at work.

25mins from down town. Comfortable bed, good price, clean, nice people, will definitely consider staying at a Homewood suites first the next time I travel. Me and my wife had an event downtown to go to and didn't want to pay 300.00 for a room downtown. We are not from the Detroit area and have never been there. So I want to make sure that we stayed in a nice area for the night. So I Googled nicest suburbs of Detroit and Troy and Birmingham was one of the top ones. I was going to stay at a Holiday in express ( because I had a positive experience in the past) but the building looked older in the pictures in the Birmingham area. So I came across this Homewood hotel and the pictures looked nice and was a decent price on Expedia. I would recommend it for somebody in town on business or somebody that had something downtown Detroit and didn't want to stay downtown.

We came in without a reservation needing a handicap accessible room because my husband is wheelchair bound. The guest receptionist (Kia?) was extremely accommodating and gave us a wonderful Junior King Suite that was very easy to access from the front desk and kitchen area. Every member of the staff went out of their way to be helpful and kind. They made us feel like VIPs both nights we stayed (3/2 - 3/3). We have stayed here before and come back for the comfortable beds and great breakfast, but I felt the need to give a shout-out this time for the great hospitality! Thanks, we'll be back!

The room was very nice, and came with a small kitchenette with dishes and dishwasher as well. There was a pull-out couch as well as King size bed, and two televisions. Room was clean upon arrival, no weird odours, and had very plush pillows! Hallways felt a little surreal due to lack of any defining decor, but other than that a very nice hotel. Complimentary WiFi wasn't slow, either, which was nice!

Stayed here for a weekend in January and found the front desk staff very friendly and welcoming. I like how you can go online and choose your room. Our suite was looking a bit dated but had lots of extras like a stove, big fridge, microwave, and a couple of TVs. The bed was comfy but the duvet was not as heavy as we would like it.

The pool was nice but not warm enough. No hot tub.
Workout room was small but had weights and a couple treadmills.
The business center was big inside but the PCs were a bit slow, and waiting for them to reset was a long process. Thankfully they did have a printer attached.

The breakfast was really good, they changed it up each day. Hot foods, fruit, cereals, great tasting bagels and muffins. This was not your generic morning buffet seen at so many other chains. The room to eat breakfast in is really nice too, with a fireplace.

Overall experience has been 5 stars. Staff is extremely friendly. The lobby is well appointed, with very comfortable seating by the fireplace. A nice breakfast, with plenty of seating.

The rooms are very good size, and clean. With a separate living room space, small kitchenette, 2 burners, full size microwave, full size refrigerator, and even a garbage disposal. The bedroom, in our case, had 2 queen size beds. Plenty of room, and comfortable.

So why 4 stars and not 5. I struggled over how many stars to deduct for being able to hear the guest in next room snoring. Not excessively loud, but audible enough to bother me as keep me awake. Fortunately for a Google App I was able to play some ambient background music. But alas in the end I decided to deduct only 1 star instead of 2. This small infraction occurred on only 1 night of 5.

I will recommend this hotel and suites. Don't hesitate to book.

Location needs to be addressed here as well. I must say, that the hotel is perfectly situated. Close to many great evening spots, anywhere you need to go, Birmingham, Royal Oak, Ferndale. You will not suffer from lack of food options. Also conveniently located across the street from Wholefoods. Quick access to I75, and 696.

Great place for work or family travellers.

Room 143 is horrible! It's right next to the employee lounge and they are very loud. At 11pm someone started vacuuming right outside of our room. The walls are thin and so is the ceiling. It sounded like a herd of elephants were above us. Just a bad experience.
