ISO 14001

ISO 14001 is an internationally accepted standard that outlines how to put an effective environmental management system in place. It is designed to help businesses remain commercially successful without overlooking environmental responsibilities, such as:

• Improve their environmental performance constantly
• Comply with local and national regulations and other requirements subscribed
• Prevent water, air and ground pollution hazards
• Control and optimise water and energy consumption
• Promote waste recycling and recovery
• Raise environmental awareness among employees and train them to adopt good practices in their activity

ISO 50001 provides a framework of requirements for organizations to:
- Develop a policy for more efficient use of energy
- Fix targets and objectives to meet the policy
- Use data to better understand and make decisions about energy use
- Measure the results
- Review how well the policy works, and
- Continually improve energy management.

My wife, Marsha and I were well treated by the staff at this hotel. From the reservation made with Sunday on a Sunday to the check in with Jim & Danielle who upgraded our room to a King Suite, the delicious meals at Miss Milli's gourmet breakfast restaurant on real plates (not paper) through our checkout date where we had a great input session with Lindsey who is GM. Special kudos to Miss Milli who is a world class multi-tasker always asking what else you need no matter how busy she was at the time. It can get chaotic in her restaurant at times. My wife was particularly impressed that she was able to take the time to spoon out some grapefruit for her from the mixed fruit cocktail. Outstanding, Miss Milli! Thank you so much.

The pet fee of $65 is more than reasonable. We stayed in the Homewood Suites in Naples a couple of times and they socked us for $200 which was a little heavy handed, but we didn't have another viable choice. So the $65 felt like a gift! Thank you, Lindsey.

Our business in Gainesville was to get treatment for Desiree our 11 year old rat terrier who was hospitalized with Bladder Cancer over at the University of Florida Small Animal Hospital close to the hotel. It was a scary time for us so the hospitality and courtesy shown to us was most appreciated. Desi is doing well and we're heading back over for a re-check ultrasound this Friday hoping that the disease is in remission or gone altogether.

The only caveats to this facility are the small laundry room on the second floor with antiquated equipment and the TV service that doesn't allow you to preview programming before selecting a show. I discussed these two things with Lindsey, GM and I'm confident that she'll get them addressed ASAP. For that reason we would rate this hotel just slightly below a 5 stars more like 4.5, but that choice didn't exist However, the people are so friendly that we would rate it above a 5 so I averaged my rating to a 5 stars overall.

We're very pleased to give our highest recommendation to the Homewood Suites in Gainesville which is a superior value for the price for the reasons indicated above.

It was a nice place to stay with a Continental breakfast that's what you would expect. The room was a little run down (broken lock on the bathroom, out lightbulb) but it was comfortable and the staff was friendly and helpful.

Nice place but it is starting to show it's age in the rooms. Walls and ceilings are thin. You can hear walking above you or people talking outside by the basketball court. The breakfast is decent. It consists of eggs with some meat, waffles, cereal, fruit, bagels etc. The happy hour is Monday - Thursday. Free beer and wine. The food was prime rib sliders and surprisingly decent. The staff is excellent and very helpful. Tons of places to eat within a mile of the lodging. Try Blaze pizza and 4 Rivers BBQ. Both fantastic! For the price it's worth the stay.

Stayed here 4 and a half weeks and really felt like home. There were some issues with my door that made it difficult to get into my room one of those days but the staff handled it like champs with capes on. Complementary breakfast was good some days and no so much on others. Outside there is a courtyard, small pool and basket ball court. The rooms are cozy with a sofa in the living room kitchen with a toaster oven microwave and full size fridge. Kitchen is stocked with dinner ware and utensils. My rooms utensils were very worn I would highly suggest just getting some disposables from dollar tree which is across the street. While there you might need foil or small disposable pans if you plan on using toaster oven. Overall stay was nice!

THIS facility is great. The facilities are pleasant and the people are wonderful. However a newly enforced corporate policy regarding reservation cancellation is a deal breaker. 48 hours advance notice resulting in full price charges is unconscionable. Perhaps it can be defended in resorts but for roadside travellers it becomes the kill shot. Made a reservation on the road about 36 hours ahead then had car trouble. Called early morning to cancel because I couldn't make it to that destination. They said they could cancel but the full 2 room charges would apply. Logic question...how can I cancel a reservation 48 hours in advance that I made 36 hours before arriving? Maybe time for a new CEO. Cancelling my Hilton Honors membership along with the rooms. Adios!!

We stayed one nite. Wonderful care and cleanliness way above 5 star. Learning about executive decision made at this time about no return of deposits should be fired and all who put them in their position. Put them on the road and be held back by traffic and mechanical problems as well, would be a greater problem than losing your job. Don't be such a putz and just look at reality.

Thus hotel is wonderful, the people and the rooms are excellent.. however... Be aware that vehicle troubles cost me the price of a two room reservation because of a cancellation policy. #Hilton #moneygrab @HiltonHHonors @HiltonHotels

We had the misfortune of having car issues on our way home from Orlando. It landed us here stranded. This was a fantastic place for our family to stay while we waited for our car to be fixed. Everyone here went above and beyond for us. They made our little unexpected side adventure a great time for all.

The amenities were nice and was a nice amount of room. The walls and floors were thin. People talking at a reasonable level were able to be heard from all sides. Also the pull out sofa bed was just about useless. The mattress was incredibly thin and the support didn't support. Just kept feeling the metal bars.

Room was clean, though bed was a bit uncomfortable. Nice, big room and pretty well laid out. Breakfast was about what you expect. Spoke to the front desk about the bed, they were gracious about it.

The rooms were not the ones we had booked. We should have had 11 rooms with two queens and a pullout in each. Instead, they all had 1 King and a pullout which didn't work for are large school group. They worked to correct as many rooms as they could but some had to triple bed for the trip. Breakfast was good as is the service.

The rooms were clean and up today. The breakfast was like most hotel breakfasts, not very good. I wanted to check in early but was told I have to just arrive and hope for the best. I called the day before, 4 hours before I arrived and 1 hour before I arrived. They said no rooms were available when I got there so I sat down and waited. 15 mins later someone else can in early and she gave them a room... I was kinda upset but knew sometimes they set rooms to specific people so it was okay. I sat there for 2 more hours until they said they don't have a room for me. They upgraded me so that was good but just the way everything went down I was left a little upset.

I didn't expect how nice this place was! Excellent hotel/suite! The beds, pillows, sheets, towels, were all luxurious! Free food is always available, workout room, pool, business office, free internet, the best shower ever, and the staff-front desk housekeeping and the servers were extremely friendly! I'll be a frequent customer!

The room is alright for1-2 people, but if you have anyone sleeping in the living room the AC is as loud as a vacuum cleaner. They do however have breakfast and dinner which is more than most. Breakfast there is pretty good, but the dinner is sad.

Staff is extremely nice and very accommodating. Pool is nice and clean. Hallways going to the rooms are a little too warm. Will cause you to sweat a bit on your way to the room. Beds in the rooms are not as comfortable as I would like. Over all a good stay.

We stayed at the Homewood Suites for a few days and found it serviceable, with a few annoyances. First, the trundle bed doesn't have sheets on it, so we had to request it... But they didn't bring a blanket or two pillowcases, so we had to call again. We had to request the crib, even though it was on our reservation. Shampoo wasn't in our room, either. Even though we made a ton of calls, they generally brought the stuff promptly. The shower door wouldn't close all the way, so the bathroom flooded during shower time and the sheets they brought for the trundle bed had a huge stain on it. The bed was what I would expect and the room was decently clean. I was surprised at the amount of food during breakfast and wine hour (which easily served as dinner for the kids), but everything was covered with cheese (eggs? Cheese. Broccoli? Cheese) and while I am typically not picky, I am pretty lactose intolerant and they aren't there to be short order cooks. The employees are all fantastic and polite. It's three stars because it's three stars - you can't expect Ritz quality on a budget, and I would probably stay here again (depending on the deals).

I liked the place over all. Was little noisy at nights as people on top floor walking around i suppose. My room had full size refrigerator, microwave, and dishwasher so that was useful for people who needs to use. Took one star out because they did the room service one day but didn't clean the bathroom entirely.

Have taken quite a few business trips to the gainesville area. This was my first time at homewood suites, and it will be my choice from now on. The room (? Basic suite?) was large, nicely set up, had good kitchen amenities, and was in an excellent location for picking up supplies and for commuting to my meetings. They also offer nice "extras", like dinner receptions during the week and daily breakfast ( even though I didn't take advantage of these). For me, the cost was no different than a "regular " hotel room, but the room was so much more.

Arrived today around noon. Understood we could not check in until 4pm, yet the front desk was checking in people early who called ahead of time. What happened to the check in after 4pm? My husband is here in business and is staying here for 21 days. The room was not even ready when we came back hours later. The suite was clean and very nice. Loved the kitchenette but a stove would have been ideal as meals out can become quite expensive. Living room TV does not turn on. When I called front desk, I was told someone would be sent up as soon as it. After an hour, my husband went down to ask, and was told maintence was gone and will be back in the morning.
Property is lovely and staff was friendly, but there is a definite need for improvement for timely check-ins and prompt response time to customer needs.

From the manager Luisa, to Chris, head of maintenance, as well as Aaron, at the front desk, the staff was terrific!
The two-bedroom suite was very nicely appointed, and the grounds were very nicely maintained.
Please note that the spa, next to the pool had, recently, been removed.
We would strongly recommend this property, whether for a night or two, or a longer stay...feels a lot like home!

My family and I have stayed here for a basketball game for three years now and have always enjoyed our stay. It's in a great area with plenty of restaurants and the rooms itself is always clean. We usually get a two room suite which includes a kitchenette. We are already planning to stay at this same hotel for the game stay next year.

The customer service is outstanding. The hotel is clean. We have had continuous issues with the folks above us and their trampling children. The staff has gone above and beyond expectations to do what they can for us, including reserving a room for us to move into tomorrow so we don't have to deal with the same people above us for 80% of our stay. The staff knows us by name and room number, which I feel speaks volumes to their attentiveness and service. The reason I am rating four stars is based on the distance to the one laundry room and the two washers and dryers for the entire hotel to use. While their store is a great convenience, there were several things out of stock due to delivery issues. During the food service, food ran out on the two times I have been down there, and it is rather popular. My thought is, I personally would be working on the refills as fast as I put the stuff out there until maybe the last 15 minutes or so. There weren't enough glasses, wine glasses, and in some cases bowls and silverware for serving the hotel guests. While these are not major, they were plentiful in the dining area and I felt more attention to the same quality service as the front desk could enhance this establishment.

Overall, I will gladly recommend this hotel and we will be returning soon.

The staff here are not just well trained in customer service. It is my belief that they are just good people. I would like to think both Tamar and Angela (night shift) for being understanding, patient and helpful during a recent stay. You ladies represent this brand well!!!! Again thank you so much!!!
