ISO 14001

ISO 14001 is an internationally accepted standard that outlines how to put an effective environmental management system in place. It is designed to help businesses remain commercially successful without overlooking environmental responsibilities, such as:

• Improve their environmental performance constantly
• Comply with local and national regulations and other requirements subscribed
• Prevent water, air and ground pollution hazards
• Control and optimise water and energy consumption
• Promote waste recycling and recovery
• Raise environmental awareness among employees and train them to adopt good practices in their activity

ISO 50001 provides a framework of requirements for organizations to:
- Develop a policy for more efficient use of energy
- Fix targets and objectives to meet the policy
- Use data to better understand and make decisions about energy use
- Measure the results
- Review how well the policy works, and
- Continually improve energy management.

Fantastic aesthetic for Homewood Suites. Its very clean and had plenty of linens. I even slept on the pull out couch, and woke up without a problem of bugs. The lobby is gorgeous, and the amenities provided (breakfast and evening ordives) were above par.

Filthy! Non carpeted flooring in hotel common areas and hallways are sticky. Carpets are dirty. Dirty floors in units in kitchen and bathroom areas. The toilet seat in our room was not screwed down. It just had long rods with no attachments to the toilet so every time you sat down it flipped up in the back and “clonked” back down when you got up. Appliances used in Complimentary Breakfast area are old and need replacing. Not all were functioning very well. Food all tasted like freezer burn. Front desk employees were pleasant but all others looked as if they’d rather not be there. Any request was met with a look of being bothered. TV’s in room only had a few channels that came in clear. The rest were blurry with static lines. Called front desk. Their answer was that it was beyond their control. No pet fee is charged. When I told them I had a pet when I checked in, the front desk person said “don’t worry about it”. I think it was because they knew that the hotel was already so dirty that it wouldn’t be fair to charge someone with a pet extra $. When we entered our room, a housekeeper was in the room, surprised that we entered.I asked if she was finished cleaning, she hesitated, said yes and left the room. We would have left but I had prepaid and we were there for business.Another hotel guest said she had the same complaints. Won’t be booking here again.

The rooms were clean, the breakfast spread was great. The pull out sofa bed was literally the most uncomfortable excuse for a mattress I've ever had the displeasure of using, they should remove them from the description of the rooms because the floor is more comfortable. The swimming pool was gross. The water was only semi opaque and there was a brown film on the pool walls that was thick enough to be scratched off with a fingernail. As long as you dont use the pool or sofa bed, it's a very nice hotel.

The facility was nice. However the person who helped us upon check-in was rather rude. I booked through a 3rd party and was not able to select to add a roll-away bed and the front desk person was very rude when we requested one. It wasn't a big deal to us that they were unable to accomodate, but she was extremely rude about the issue. Also we had problems with one of the neighboring rooms smoking indoors - our room smelled very strongly of marijuana when we returned from our social event that evening - we couldn't even stand to use the bathroom in our suite. It was a lot of money to have spent on a very lackluster experience.

This was a fun spot for a family stay-cation. All of the amenities were great. The kids enjoyed the pool and hot tub. The gym has great equipment. All of the guest appeared to enjoy themselves. There's a patio with a grill and a small basketball court. It's not a quiet hotel though. It reminded me of a college dorm. There were a lot of parties going on, nothing too obtrusive though. There were more families than anything. Our suite was the bomb. We were comfortable and really enjoyed.

We live in Tampa Florida, but I have family in Grand Rapids. I'm also a Hilton HHonors member so this Homewood Suites is our go-to place. Have stayed here many times. The staff is always so wonderful, if you have questions or need anything you don't seem to be a bother to them they're eager to help. The breakfast is varied each day and wonderful the room is comfortable to sleep in and we've had no issues with noise. It's also a great location in Grand Rapids. We will continue to stay here

Room was great, all the staff we interacted with were nice. I appreciated the call ahead of time that the hot tub was broken, but was quite sad the pool was ice cold and unusable. Would feel nice in the summer I am sure, but when it's winter...not so much. At least the showers had amazing water pressure and nice, hot water.

A gem of a hotel. We stayed in a king bed suite for one night with our three month old infant. We ordered in dinner and enjoyed a nice, quiet meal in our suite even though we are far away from the comforts of home (flew in from Northern California). Manager Ashley was very helpful and nice at checkin with a call to our room to ensure we had everything we needed. Rooms were clean, modern, and even has USB ports for cell phone charging. Would certainly stay here again.

Highly recommend staying here! They accommodate every need and all staff are so friendly! They have free breakfast everyday and dinner snacks Monday-Thursday even though each room has a mini kitchen! It’s a nice hotel with great amenities! Each room is modern and very nice and higher class! Everything is clean and smells clean and well kept! The fitness center was down for maintenance during my stay, but to accommodate the guests, they made a deal with the Fairfield hotel right next door to use their fitness center while the Homewood’s was down!

Very satisfactory experience. Room is ideal and well-equipped for an extended stay. Lots of restaurants in the area. Staff was friendly. Only negative was the bed and pillows - way too soft for my tastes.

Super nice room and awesome staff. Perfect location for eating out or buying to eat in because there are tons of options. Lost one star because the gold out bed is aweful. I complain because I had to sleep on it. Otherwise this place is fantastic.

Rooms were nice and clean, house keeping service always on time. The breakfast was quite good but nothing to write home I guess. The front desk was quick and helpful, had no problem with us doing a late checkout, which is nice.

The price is fair. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 is I noticed a small spot of drywall buckling in the shower from moisture and the carpet in the halls seems a bit worn and dated. My beds were much smaller then I usually get, but I did reserve double beds. Just used to places these days referring to queen as double. Can't fault them for that. They were comfortable, eventough small.

Nice hotel, quiet rooms. The beds are comfortable, furniture is clean and does not look worn. Onsight fitness room has ok equipment, but the tv channel selection in the fitness room is poor. Quaint outdoor patio and grill area for hanging out and a small basketball court. The facility was clean and the staff was friendly.

It was located off of 28th St in Grand Rapids, MI. The room was very clean but the view was not beautiful. It overlooked a uhaul lot and another industrial business. The rooms were also not sound proof at all. We were woke up at 5:30am by crying children. We had stayed to have a night away from our young children so it was a little annoying to be woken that way. The free breakfast was just ok. The fruit was gross and there were not a lot of options. The pool was small but clean. The hot tub was big enough but they were having problems keeping it hot so it was more luke warm.

This was the most pleasant stay our family has had. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. Our room was perfect. I was looking for a room that offered separate sleeping quarters from our children. ( I was hoping to sleep in) There was a full kitchen!!! Kitchens are a must for our family of 5. Being able to eat in saves us so much money. I also enjoyed the fire place which gave me an area to relax and read while the kids enjoyed the indoor pool. On our last night in town we invaded the lobby to play a family board game. While playing, the staff continued to offer us water, snacks and drinks. I can honestly say I look forward to our next stay!

Excellent service. Very accommodating especially towards guests with children and/or disabilities. They make sure you feel like this is your home away from home.

If you are looking for an extended stay hotel with full kitchen, living room with separate bedroom, accessible pool, fitness room, professional and friendly staff, and a convenience location away from traffic but close to highways and malls... then look no further!

The housekeeping and kitchen staff are super friendly and trustworthy. Some may have a bit of a language barrier, but they are the best human beings you will have the pleasure of meeting. If anyone makes this hotel so great, it truly is the housekeeping and kitchen staff!

The front desk staff is always open to help in any way they can. They will go above and beyond to accommodate your needs, and will work closely with maintenance. The hotel even hosts Hospitality interns from GVSU and other area schools each semester, where they get to do a week in each department -- from front desk to housekeeping to maintenance to management! It's such a great experience for the students!

The only negative -- and the reason whey I am downgrading the rating from 5 stars to 4 stars -- is hotel ownership. Although they have done a great job at hiring a diverse work force, they are NOT supportive of work-life balance, at least not from what I've overheard the employees talk about in the several months and several stays here. For example, some employees are forced to work overtime when they do not have childcare arrangements made. There is NO MATERNITY LEAVE except for management. How unfair is that?! The employees who are busting their butts off making this hotel so great get the short end of the stick with benefits, instead of receiving the HHonor (pun intended) and recognition they deserve.

So TMI Hospitality (ownership) and Hilton (hotel chain), if you are reading this: please do what's right and treat your employees better. You are doing a good job, yes, but you can do better. You can be a leader in workforce development and work-life balance. Increase those wages, don't force overtime, provide PAID maternity/paternity/family leave to everyone equally, and stop providing better benefits to management vs. everyone else. Until then... as great as my experience here may be as a guest, I cannot in good faith leave you a 5 star rating.

The stay was fine! The room was very nice and clean. The main TV didn't work but it wasn't a big deal. The complimentary breakfast wasn't the best I've had - the selection of hot items was pretty small and what they did have did not taste very great (sausage patties, potato patties, watery eggs). Overall, it was an all right hotel stay.

My husband and I spent a long weekend here, came to see a concert at the DeVos center. Don't spend your money to stay downtown. This hotel was easy accessible to and from downtown. The hotel is everything a couple or a family needs. Great staff, great location! A big refrigerator, a stove burner, dishes, pots and pans...Great breakfast and dinner (free) coffee all day...

My husband says it was perfect also. The staff and service were great, friendly, and most accommodating in all of our needs! This place was well beyond our expectations! We will be back for sure.

Love this hotel -- suite was one of the most comfortable in which we have ever stayed -- staff was very friendly and helpful -- free dinners were an unexpected plus -- location is great with easy drive to wherever we needed to go. Perfect for a multi-day stay -- couldn't have asked for more. Will definitely stay here again.
