Certifications

ISO 14001

ISO 14001 is an internationally accepted standard that outlines how to put an effective environmental management system in place. It is designed to help businesses remain commercially successful without overlooking environmental responsibilities, such as:

• Improve their environmental performance constantly
• Comply with local and national regulations and other requirements subscribed
• Prevent water, air and ground pollution hazards
• Control and optimise water and energy consumption
• Promote waste recycling and recovery
• Raise environmental awareness among employees and train them to adopt good practices in their activity
• Use eco-label housekeeping products
• Use sustainable forestry certified paper

ISO 50001

ISO 50001 is based on the management system model of continual improvement also used for other well-known standards such as ISO 9001 or ISO 14001. This makes it easier for organizations to integrate energy management into their overall efforts to improve quality and environmental management.

ISO 50001 provides a framework of requirements for organizations to:
- Develop a policy for more efficient use of energy
- Fix targets and objectives to meet the policy
- Use data to better understand and make decisions about energy use
- Measure the results
- Review how well the policy works, and
- Continually improve energy management.

I really liked the room. It was very comfortable and spacious, with a great layout. I was looking forward to my stay there and being able to kick back a bit. We were on college tours and my daughter had schoolwork to do. I had planned to plug in some headphones and chill with a movie on my iPad. This, to my chagrin, was not happening. The internet service was terrible! Free WiFi is not correct! They have a shoddy unsecured wannabe wifi (lack of caps on purpose)! It frankly did not work.
One of the reasons I booked the room was because I needed to relax a bit in the room. I was doing a ton of driving and taking my vacation time to do it. This was certainly not a vacation although I wished it was. Homewood suites stated on their website that they had free WiFi. If you want full secure WiFi you have to pay for it. This is false advertising and terribly misleading. The services should work in every room and if you say free WiFi, you should mean it.

Newly renovated room was a pleasant surprise. Great bed, clean room, nice layout. Happy hour is a bonus too. The beer and wine selection could be better at gappy hour but beggers cant be choosers. Location near many restaurants and shops is nice. My one issue is that I could not close my curtain all the way so there was a stream of light coming through my window.

The rooms are nicely decorated with plenty of space to move around. The suite we stayed in had a nice sized kitchen. It said full kitchen but keep in mind this does not include an oven. We had planned to baked a cake for our birthday guest but made a nice birthday party in lounge instead. The food served in the lounge was really tasty and who could pass up the free beer and wine as a guest! The lobby and lounge were both very welcoming areas that we're clean and we'll staffed. The patio seating area was nicely laid out for a bit of fresh air. Nice amenities.

Very nice clean spacious rooms that were well laid out so felt bigger than actually were. Staff pleasant and helpful. Snacks and continental BF top notch. Pool and hot tub clean and well kept. Lots of little touches too, like keurig coffee maker stocked with pods, and candy bars and soda already stocked in room no extra charge.

Have friends who are staying there currently and I keep visiting them often. I went for breakfast one day - pretty good spread and hot food - makes it worth it.
Also happened to visit once during their dinner time with the friends who are there and they have pretty decent deal of unlimited food from the buffet, beer and wine

I travel to Ithaca every three months for business. I always stay at this hotel and it never disappoints. I arrived slightly before check-in and the room I chose during online check-in was not ready. The front desk found me a comparable room that was ready. My only complaint following this visit was the carpet in my room was showing a lot of wear. There were bubbled areas and where the carpet of the main living area met the carpet in the bathroom sink area the seam had begun gapping. Staff are always very friendly and the evening social and breakfast are always decent.

We have staued here a few times. Hotel is nice, clean. Staff is friendly, professional and helpful. The carpet in the rooms really need to be stretched out and tacked down. Breakfast staff in the dining room are not real friendly or helpful.

This was our family's 2nd stay here. This time we weren't so happy with the room they provided... Some cleanliness issues and the handicapped room assigned to us didn't work well because it only had a shower. I spoke with the manager Annette, and she was so understanding. She changed our room (free upgrade) and even sent a snack basket for my kids. She made a not so great situation amazing! The staff is very friendly and we love the free breakfast. We visit Ithaca 2-3 times per year and won't stay anywhere else!

Pretty good rooms. Had a issue when we got there and the rooms were not ready at 7 p.m. didn't have to wait long and it was ready. Otherwise the rooms were good and they were very helpful.

we've stayed here twice now and both times have been great. Clean comfortable room without the "hotel cleaner" smell. Very quiet, better than average breakfast. Beds and pillows very comfortable. We get a good night sleep. Slightly higher price keeps the riffraff away.

We stayed here for two nights and really liked it. The showers are very good, i.e. they have good pressure, but don't give you bruises, and there is plenty of hot water; the beds and whole appearance is clean and neat and quiet; and the breakfast is hot and well supplied. The layout of the hotel is not the best, it's one very long building. It's very close to a strip mall and also close to target and tops. But what really stood apart was one of the front desk employees. We came in late and I asked where we could get some soup because my wife had a terrible cold (in the spring no less). Yolanda, at the front desk, had two containers of soup, orange juice, and water sent up to us without us even asking. Then, later we where using the washers and dryers and ran out of quarters; as I was walking to the front desk down the hallway, Yolanda saw me, and opened up the register and counted out quarters matching the number of bills I was carrying WHILE she was talking on the phone to another customer. I handed her the bills and got my quarters without her missing a beat with the customer on the phone. I wish all front desk personnel where that aware and attentive at all the hotels I stayed at!

Rooms are old and need remodeling but worth the money. Don't expect to eat breakfast from tbe buffet. It is the worst i have ever had. I travel for a living and ive never seen such bad food at a homewood.

Overall decent but the carpets could be cleaner, the shower was moldy - see picture and the shower had low water pressure. The morning breakfast was ok but not sufficent staff to support the crowd and ran out of coffee.

Very clean and spacious rooms that are well equipped with kitchenettes and desks. Delicious full free breakfasts and light dinner with beer and wine on weekdays made it affordable. While the staff was always friendly, I did run into some frustrating problems like being checked into the wrong room and my key cards constantly not working. Also nothing in the business center seemed to work and I wasn't able to print anything. But all of these situations were remedied by the staff immediately with apologies and courtesy, and overall it was a great stay. I'd stay there again.

The room I stayed in was very clean and tidy. The hotel also has coffee throughout the day, and in the evenings there are some snacks and drinks. These included salads, soups, beer, wine, and cheese and crackers. In the mornings they also serve breakfast. The only drawback of my stay was the pool was closed.

The room was great! It was clean, elegant and comfortable. I wish the hotel was in a prettier location or closer to dowmdowntown Ithaca. Or stay was pleasant and the staff was very helpful.

10

The room was large, clean and nicely furnished. The hotel staff were friendly. The hotel was located only a mile or two outside of downtown Ithaca and was close to the mall, movie theater and Ithaca Bakery. My only complaint is that the hot tub was extremely over chlorinated. It was unbearable to sit in it. The fumes it was giving off with the jets on burned your eyes and stung your throat and nostrils.

Decent accommodations, though when we went there was no housekeeping service after the one night we stayed there. The manager offered hhonor points to me for the inconvenience, but honestly they need to get their act together. Some hotels leave a note saying that they tried coming by but the privacy sign was up, and notifies you to call downstairs for the cleaning service to come back. Others have more of a system where they take note of the ones that do have the privacy sign then come back later. We were there briefly late morning and late afternoon, but always took care to put up or take down the sign only when we were there. Either way, there at least needs to be better communication.

Excellent hotel! The staff is very friendly and caring, room very clean and pleasant and the bed is very comfortable. I am usually not crazy about the idea of staying in a hotel, but I enjoyed my stay in the Homewood Suites in Ithaca. We plan to come back to this great area and stay at this hotel.

I went with my 3 young kids and got a suite room - two large beds in one room, a pull out couch in another and they put a cot for the middle child. The room was mostly clean (when I pulled out the couch I noticed that there was some "stuff" under the cushions). the TV's were great, the food was good and they allowed/encouraged us to bring food back to the rooms. The kitchen was very nice and the staff was super helpful. traveling with kids is always tough, but this place made things easier. I did see a room at a near by hotel that was 40 bucks less but the extra money was worth it for the newer and cleaner facilities.
