ISO 14001

ISO 14001 is an internationally accepted standard that outlines how to put an effective environmental management system in place. It is designed to help businesses remain commercially successful without overlooking environmental responsibilities, such as:

• Improve their environmental performance constantly
• Comply with local and national regulations and other requirements subscribed
• Prevent water, air and ground pollution hazards
• Control and optimise water and energy consumption
• Promote waste recycling and recovery
• Raise environmental awareness among employees and train them to adopt good practices in their activity
• Use eco-label housekeeping products

ISO 50001

ISO 50001 is based on the management system model of continual improvement also used for other well-known standards such as ISO 9001 or ISO 14001. This makes it easier for organizations to integrate energy management into their overall efforts to improve quality and environmental management.

ISO 50001 provides a framework of requirements for organizations to:
- Develop a policy for more efficient use of energy
- Fix targets and objectives to meet the policy
- Use data to better understand and make decisions about energy use
- Measure the results
- Review how well the policy works, and
- Continually improve energy management.

I am giving this a low rating for a couple reasons. Let me start off I have been an all summer resident at the hotel. By the time I am done I will have stayed here 75+ days. I am over half way through this.

Complaint #1: The building is oddly shaped so parking usually leaves you a walk. The walks not the problem. The problem. All work staff have a habit of taking the best locations. The staff should be parking at the back end of the lot. Leaving the close ideal parking to paying customers. You want pictures. I have them plus video.

Complaint#2 On the weekends all of the sudden the pool and common area is over run by groups. This is not an issue to me but most of the time I see 75% plus of them get in their car and leave. They aren’t paying customers. I’d like to be able to relax. I sure can’t do it in the common areas during the weekend. This also leads to #1 issue with parking. I also have pictures and video.

Overall the place is clean, the food they provide is good. The staff is polite. But if you want to relax during the weekend your going to have to stay in your room. The parties going on with people who are not paying customers are ridiculous.

The staff also knows this goes on ( told me)

Probably is staff member friends and family. This is the only statement that is a opinion.

One party burnt my shoes cause they caught a Bush on fire. I tried puttting it out by stomping on it. Those people were there in the morning still even though the staff new who did it. ??

Very friendly staff. Amenities are great with the breakfast and evening reception. However, first floor has a bad cockroach problem. Three different people in our group had them in their rooms. Bathroom exhaust fan was also not installed (just an empty hole) in two of the rooms.

Family in town for a memorial service. They were available to accommodate us with 7 rooms for multiple days and were very helpful. Very clean. Maids extra attentive. Motel has happy hour with drinks and appetizers Mon - Fri. Also fresh baked cookies Mon - Fri. They should do it on the weekends, too. Always have fresh lemon water in lobby.

The rooms are huge, it’s very clean and the free breakfast is delicious. There was a wide variety. However, the upstairs was hot the air conditioner was broken. It has a small indoor pool but no jacuzzi. It also has a small gym which was nice.

Wifi is slow, didn't expect this due the suites status and Hilton endorsement. Also the lobby computers are really old and painfully slow. The carpets are dirty and old as well, need to be redone. That's my only complaints about. Staff are friendly, always with a smile. Rooms are big and clean, fairly priced.

I recently had to book a night at this hotel even though I am a local to Lancaster. While there, I stayed in a handicapped room because I am disabled. I did like that the room was very nice and had everything I needed for my stay - a comfy bed, clean sheets, free WiFi, a small refrigerator, and a clean and accessible bathroom and shower. The staff were very nice and even called my room soon after I had checked in and gotten settled to ask if there was anything they could get me.

A small issue that I would fix is the directions given to guests staying in the handicapped rooms for how they can get to their rooms. The route to get to my room that my caregiver and I were given by the person at the front desk took us down a series of long, winding hallways that was difficult to navigate with myself carrying my bags and my caregiver having to juggle my walker while pushing me in my wheelchair. Only when a maid who was cleaning rooms saw my caregiver struggling and offered to help us (big kudos to her for helping; I wish I had gotten her name, but she was a godsend at the time) were we told that there are two more direct routes to the room that we could've taken (one via a shorter hallway straight from my room's door to the lobby and one via an outside door right next to my room that opened directly to the parking lot [which was actually a very convenient access route and is what we used thereafter]).

I know that many hotels position their handicapped rooms as close to the lobby as they can for better guest accessibility. While this hotel didn't do that, I actually appreciated that their handicapped room I stayed in was next to an outside door (maybe 3 steps from my room's front door to the outside door) so I could be taken to and from my car without having to be wheeled through the lobby every time. It just would've been nice if the front desk receptionist had pointed us to that route or even the direct hallway access to my room when we checked in. But that is something that is easily fixed and once rectified shouldn't impact future guests staying at this hotel.

That said, overall, I was very pleased with my stay. While it was a short stay, I would've been very comfortable staying here longer if my plans had warranted it, and I'll definitely be back to stay at this Homewood Suites if the need arises again.

I certainly would agree that the staff is friendly and polite, however, the walls are very thin. I was woken-up twice one night due to a neighbor coughing. Expect to hear people walking in neighboring rooms as well as in the hall. For the price, there are far better hotels in the area.

The suites are clean and well equipped. The whole place does smell of smoke despite being smoke free. Breakfast isn't great, not terrible, but not great. The WiFi is slow and spotty. I would stay here again if I had to, but will be looking for something else the next time I'm out here.

Very nice rooms with a big fridge, stove, dishwasher, microwave and couch that turns into an extra bed. The pool is ok and there is no hot tub. They also have a half court to play some basketball. But overall a really nice hotel

A great place to stay for long durations. The rooms are always clean and the hotel staff are friendly and easy to work with when it comes to changing your reservation if needed. The breakfast is not particularly amazing but it has all the basics covered and it's made up for by the convenient dinner/snack and happy hour offered daily. Parking is the one downside, as most of the spots are in the back and there's only really two entrances, so it's a bit of a hassle if your room is in the middle. Not at all a deal breaker though!

First off, the place looks beautiful and grand upon first entry. Service clerk was polite and friendly. Though we only stayed the night, the room had amenities for cooking and cleaning for long term residence. Complimentary breakfast service in the morning was also a great experience with a good variety of foods available. The only complaint we had was that there wasn't enough blankets in the room initially for the sofa bed. Overall we had a pleasant experience and would recommend for any one to stop by and relax in one of these comfortable suites.

My first 24 hours at the hotel I experienced several rude staff at the front desk and in house keeping. The hotel is old and in desperate need of updating for the price. It's only a mediocre place to stay, I would not recommend it as of right now, though my extended visit here may change my opinion. If it does I will update accordingly.

Update after one week in hotel: Do experience anymore rude staff encounters. But the overall cleanliness of the hotel is substandard and the elevators are either out of service or feel like they should be out of service. At this price point I still can't recommend.

Staff were polite and friendly. The breakfast and dinners served were good enough for me and who can complain about "free"?

Only a few bits:

There is a baseball stadium/diamond opposite the hotel. Night games can happen, and they can be quite loud on the PA. Consider asking for a room away from that side of the hotel.

The walk to your room can be pretty long, but the halls were quiet, rooms spacious, and house keeping did a great job keeping the place clean.

Some touch up paint needed in places perhaps, but this was a good stay!

It's newly renovated. Some of the paint job and rework was a little sloppy or still in progress. Otherwise the place is great. Lots of space in the suite and the shower is perfect. Great accommodations all around. The place kind of makes you walk a good distance if you're one of the end of the hallway numbers. Elevator is hot, breakfast is great!

This was my fourth stay at this hotel. It is my only choice when coming to work at Edwards AFB. I love the location. Its near local grocery shopping and entertainment. The staff is always courteous snd professional. The breakfast provided has variety. The evening reception has an upbeat atmosphere. There is always fresh salad with all the fixings and a soup of the day.

The interior of hotel and people at the front desk was really nice. My room key had trouble getting into guest laundry room, but they were quick to take care about it. Although the room was nice and neat, there was a little blood stain on my sheets. Also we used the couch bed for kids which was right next to the AC unit. when we woke up in the morning, the side of the bed next AC was covered in chunk of dust. Breakfast was nice and delicious. Overall it was OK experience.

If your company pre-pays for your stay, be careful the credit card you give them for "incidentals" isn't changed for the whole stay. This happened to me twice and the manager in Lancaster failed to respond to the problem timely.

Breakfast and dinner was outstanding... I don't think they served the same meal twice despite a stay of several weeks. The rooms were clean and the staff was very friendly.
