ISO 14001

ISO 14001 is an internationally accepted standard that outlines how to put an effective environmental management system in place. It is designed to help businesses remain commercially successful without overlooking environmental responsibilities, such as:

• Improve their environmental performance constantly
• Comply with local and national regulations and other requirements subscribed
• Prevent water, air and ground pollution hazards
• Control and optimise water and energy consumption
• Promote waste recycling and recovery
• Raise environmental awareness among employees and train them to adopt good practices in their activity

ISO 50001 provides a framework of requirements for organizations to:
- Develop a policy for more efficient use of energy
- Fix targets and objectives to meet the policy
- Use data to better understand and make decisions about energy use
- Measure the results
- Review how well the policy works, and
- Continually improve energy management.

This hotel exceeded our expectations! The staff was incredibly friendly and super accommodating. (We were definitely needy, sorry) The room was perfect and very clean. The bed was so soft and had tons of soft pillows and the little kitchen was perfect so we didn't have to eat out all the time. A big THANK YOU, to Ron and Madison as well as the nice tall gentleman who brought us all the blankets and the gentleman who talked so nicely to my nephew and recommended a great Chinese place. We would definitely recommend this hotel and stay again!

First time staying here and loved it. Sam at the front desk went above and beyond to make our visit amazing. A young man checked us in very welcoming. Also, a young lady at front desk was very nice and helpful. Will definitely stay here again next yr. Only down side no pool because covid19, but that was not the hotel fault I understand.

GM Sam Peraza does an above-expectation job for his guests and his employees in providing the best customer service and convenience I have received at a hotel. His staff is helpful, hospitable and accommodating with any request reasonable. Only hotel I’ve stayed where my pre-arrival request for a crib inside of my room was actually attended to before I arrived. Even Walt Disney World resorts can’t match that! Minutes from the beach with highway access, close restaurant accommodations and retail stores not far. They rooms are comfortable and spacious, perfect for an individual, a couple or even a family! I’ll go here every time I’m in Virginia Beach!

We had an excellent stay the second week of January 2020. The staff couldn’t have been nicer. We were up on the sixth floor and although the elevator was slow, everything else was top-notch. Desk staff was very friendly, understanding and caring. They even got to know me and called me by name. Every day. It was a very welcoming atmosphere. Housekeeping was outstanding and room was always cleaned thoroughly every day. The managers reception and breakfasts were very good, well replenished and food was fresh. One of the ladies who worked during breakfast was always very welcoming and happy to see us each day. I highly recommend staying here. I’m sorry for those that did not have a good experience. There was one situation where someone had been smoking in a room near us and their smoke alarm had gone off. We could hear it in our room so I called the front desk and they were already on top of it. The next day they told me that there would be an alarm sounding so they could replace the batteries in the smoke alarm of that particular room. That made me feel safe as well.

The hotel was very clean and well managed. The king suites have full kitchens and are very spacious for a restful weekend away. It's a great price for the location, and just a 12 minute drive to the boardwalk. There are lots of places to eat within a couple mile radius, that are highly rated, but they have good continental breakfast and a club lounge for drinks if you'd rather stay in.

All in all I'd give it a thumbs up. The TV remotes probably need new batteries, the shower door handles are loose and fall off, one of the shower doors is off it's rollers and the shower basin is not properly leveled so that all of the water goes down the drain.

Breakfast and dinner food quality is very good, especially the soup and salad. I loved the am oatmeal, my wife bacon and eggs. The employees and guest are delightful, as are the many amenities like the swimming pool, exercise room and putting course. I would recommend staying here. Guest seemed very happy.

Overall, this is a very nice hotel. Breakfast was good, the bed was comfortable and the rooms are huge. My main complaint is the pillows in our room were awful, they were all feather pillows and went completely flat when you put your head on them. Thankfully, they gave us 6 pillows so we just had to stack them. The pool and hot tub are great. I would definitely return here.

The parking area is lighted at night. The staff greeted us upon our arrival, into the hotel. There were carts available for transport of our luggage. The hotel has elevators located on both sides of the hallways for easy access. Our staff was great and made our stay enjoyable. In the morning we had the pleasure of meeting a young lady by the name of Toya, she served us and others with a smile 😃 .It's good to see a nice person in the morning to start off your day .Toya did just that for my Wife and I.

People that work here at least at the time I stayed were wonderful. When you're nice to them they are nice back two fold. I was really impressed by the breakfasts as well as the dinners they put out everyday. Not the highest quality, but the y have grills available outside, that coupled with what's offered Mon-Thurs made it just fine for us. Bar tender Ed is a saint. Did all kinds of stuff for us to make it feel more like home.
Only reason I have it four stars is because the hotel itself is not well maintained. All the ice machines were out, the room while large (we had a two bed, 2 bath suite, was on need of some attention. Cabinets were lose and didn't close in the kitchen, drawers didn't shut right, dishwasher was secured to the countertop, it leaked etc.

The staff at this particular Homewood is fantastic. I generally like staying at Homewood hotels when I'm traveling for work on my own- they serve dinner during the week which gives me extra downtime to relax. This Homewood also had a small bar with a happy hour. The food was on par for Homewood, but the staff went above and beyond to be friendly and welcoming. I also enjoyed the gym and breakfast. I didn't use the pool but noticed several families seemed to enjoy it. The location is convenient for my work and the airport (20 minutes for both). I deducted one start because it could use some updating- my door had a decent amount of dirty hand prints and the caulk in the shower desperately needed to be redone. Still, it was clean and comfortable. I will stay there again!

Nonsmokers beware of floor 6. That floor has both smoking and non-smoking rooms. The cigarette funk hits you in the face the moment you step off the evevator. Thankfully my room did not smell of smoke. All staff is super friendly. This includes housekeeping, dining room, and front desk. The rooms are nice. I would definitely stay again. Just not on floor 6. :)

Pleasant stay. Room is clean and comfortable, breakfast is good with several choices including fresh waffles. Only downside is that the hallway outside my room smelled like plastic or something... I'm guessing they recently painted or replaced the carpet and have inadequate ventilation. However, the room smells fine so not a big deal.

The room was clean and was actually like a 1 bedroom apartment. We didn't have to book a second room to have privacy from my daughter which was great, she just stayed on the sleeper sofa in the other room. Full kitchen was a nice touch. Definitely worth the money.

Only giving a three because housekeeping was awesome. Their late check out policy needs to be reevaluated. Being an honors members that is one of the perks I enjoy. Was told by Susan that they only allot times on the morning you need it. If you happen to be a late sleeper you are out of luck.

Reserved a standard room, and I received an amazing room. I asked the host of it's a normal room and she said yes. It was like a two room efficient apartment, had a small living room with a pullout couch, stove, fridge, dishwasher, very comfy bed. Free breakfast and free dinner, happy hour with cheap beer. I love this place.

Reasonably modern version of the Homewood. The staff is pleasant and helpful. This is the first Homewood I've been where the evening reception did not have free beer and wine. They were available for $1 during the reception from the bar.

At 55 I have stayed in my share of hotels , yet none with a better staff . Front desk, kitchen, cleaners all over the top great.

Extremely accommodating, warm our pizza in their oven no problem.

Rhonda at front desk was especially accommodating with my Autistic 10 year old son Paul. Coming into or leaving the hotel they managed to make each other smile.

Great place to stay. Sleeper sofa mattress is terrible. I specifically requested a good sofa bed. When it was brought to the attention of the staff I was simply told they could not accommodate me. Other than that everything else was excellent. Good breakfast. Dinner is provided 4 nights a week. Happy hour at the hotel bar with dollar beer and wine through the week. Nice courtyard to spend family time in.

Honestly the nicest, cleanest, most friendly hotel I have ever stayed at. We traveled from Boise ID to Virginia Beach VA on a 6 day road trip for a Military move. With 2 Dashunds in tow we were put up in a Navy Gateway Inn that was anything but dog friendly. After 4 days of broken A/C, cockroach infested, rude front desk and managers we were able to move to a hotel in town due to no other dog friendly rooms available. Luckily we found Homewood Suites and they let us check in early. The manager helped us with our reservation glitch at no charge even though it was our fault. Aja, an employee who prepared the free breakfast each morning and dinner Mon-Thurs, welcomed us when we were checking in at the front desk. The hotel was spotless, every employee was so kind and friendly, and treated us and the dogs like family. It was more expensive than the "Military hotel" but with daily free breakfast and dinner 4 nights a week we actually spent less. Our 7 night stay was truly a home between homes!

First time staying here. I loved the walnut cookie that they give you at check in. Wish they gave me more. I would buy them. Room was good though down side was that there was no microwave. Every Hotel I have been there is always a microwave. Called front desk for one but they said they had run out.

The room was nice, but the bed sheets were dirty. I split the price of the room with my girlfriend, and we used our money off of her card, but we unfortunately did not have enough money due to the 27 dollar tax they failed to mention when we checked in!! I told them to transfer the 27 dollar tax payment to my debit card so she wouldn't overdraft, but they told me the money was already off her account. I payed the tax fee anyway (so I thought) because I was told the money would go back to her account in 3 to 4 business days. The next thing I know, I check my bank account and they took 207 dollars right out of it! My girlfriend's card was actually declined, which the concierge unprofessionally failed to tell us and instead told me the money was taken off of her account when actually her card was simply declined! You would think they'd have seen that when we checked in! I felt like we were mislead and hustled and the concierge is the main reason why I give Homewood Suites such a low rating!

I was only there for one night. The lobby was big and inviting. They have everything you may have forgotten for sale right behind the front desk. The room I had was like a small apartment. There was even a bar just past the lobby.
All in all, a very nice hotel at a reasonable rate.

Me and my family stayed here over a week or so only for a brief period but I would like to bring attention to your front desk/overnight girl- autum.!we have been in the process of moving from South Carolina and have never been in Virginia beforehand, so i had a few questions about the area. The front desk agent Autumn not only answered my questions, but went ABOVE and beyond to welcome and help me. She said she was born here and then took the time to tell me about the area from a locals perspective and her experience, which is not something I could have known from a google search!! I was blown away. she gave me a list of restaurants she recommends of all types of food, where the 'secret free places to park at the beach are during summer, what alternate route to take during rush hour that avoids traffic, Amungst other things. To top it off, after I mentioned in passing my HS aged kid was worried about not getting involved enough in engineering related clubs due to the move, autum told me about a amazing govt technology/science school she attended previously , and then proceeded to give me all the info needed for the program and tips for my daughters application. I was blown away by the amount of time and effort she put into helping me out. it takes a special kind of person to sincerely CARE about strangers like that. She could have easily answered my few questions politely and then continue to do her job, but she gave me 45 minutes of her time sincerely helping me. This is the highest level of service I have ever received by ANYONE in not only the hotel industry, but in any field . I can honestly say that what me and my family felt at this property was more then the highest satisfaction, we felt at home. It's rare moments like these when we come in contact with people like autumn that we not only appreciate the service they're providing, but appreciate life itself!! I truley think if more people follow Autumn's example to develop both a love for life AND her Job, she can CHANGE the face of hospitality. I am so thankful I decided to stay at Homewood suites Virginia Beach!! Amazing

Front desk associate on Thanksgiving evening was very unpleasant, and seemed to not want to be bothered when it came to doing her job, I would not spend money here anymore due to the fact that customer service is the first measurement of a business how I'm greeted when I walk into your business matters! I feel that no matter how good the product is, if the standards of service aren't up to par that whole product is garbage. The way you treat people is a reflection of who you are as a person.

This hotel was definitely a home away from home. King Suite beautiful, We didn't care much about what our view was like but we had enough windows for light and beautiful curtains for privacy. As soon as you walk in you have a kitchen and a dinning area, connecting straight to a small living room space with a TV and couch same place as the bedroom, but being a right amount of space to fit all that altogether there was a nice open space with a sink outside the bathroom, with a sliding door closet. It gave off a refreshing new apartment feel. there was only one problem with the room there had been a big yellow stain on the wall in the bathroom, nothing too noticeable, but kind of yucky. The hotel itself everyone was very friendly. If you want to take advantage complimentary breakfast that come with your room, come early. It gets a huge crowd of people early in the morning and can get a little uncomfortable. We decided we eat outside the hotel for breakfast because of that. Our stay was brief, but it was satisfying to get more for a good price, I recommended this place giving it four stars. Hope this helps ♥ If you plan to stay here.

Pretty lowbrow for Homewood suites. We've stayed at other HWS and they were great. This one was pretty poor. Rooms were fine but the staff seemed untrained. The food was just awful no matter what time of day. We won't be staying at this hotel again.

It is an alright place for extended stay. But considering it is supposed to be a premium home stay style hotel, it is not up to the mark. The breakfast is a big let down. The selection is limited and compares nothing to what I have had at Residence Inn hotels. I would say I have better breakfast at much cheaper hotels. Don't be fooled by nice spread of pastries in the picture on their website. All they have is some mini pastries stuffed in the bread box.
