ISO 14001

ISO 14001 is an internationally accepted standard that outlines how to put an effective environmental management system in place. It is designed to help businesses remain commercially successful without overlooking environmental responsibilities, such as:

• Improve their environmental performance constantly
• Comply with local and national regulations and other requirements subscribed
• Prevent water, air and ground pollution hazards
• Control and optimise water and energy consumption
• Promote waste recycling and recovery
• Raise environmental awareness among employees and train them to adopt good practices in their activity

ISO 50001 provides a framework of requirements for organizations to:
- Develop a policy for more efficient use of energy
- Fix targets and objectives to meet the policy
- Use data to better understand and make decisions about energy use
- Measure the results
- Review how well the policy works, and
- Continually improve energy management.

It is a good place. We I got there I talked to the maid and she said my room would be done first since I was going to the hospital every morning and they would do it when I was gone. That only happened 1 time. Other than that I have no other complaints.

To start this hotel only seemed to have ONE cart for luggage. When I asked at front desk the girl laughed "it seems the carts didn't get returned." I rode the elevator up the four floors to see if I could find a luggage cart that maybe someone had left near the elevator, no luck. When traveling with a family and all the trips back and forth to get my young children and wife to the room was crazy. During our two day stay I saw one luggage cart but it was rarely where it was supposed to be housed when not in use.
The curtains in the room were not wide enough to close out the lights in both windows. Somebody had issues with this an the ends and middle had been pulled off their tracks and or broken.
The hot tub and pool were being cleaned for one of the two-day stay (no advanced warning or even a notification at check in). However, there was notice posted on the door to the pool.
I've stayed at other Homewood suites and always left feeling rested and like it was a good hotel. Management could fix these issues easily but during our stay we were not treated as welcomed guests.

We like that our room had a full kitchenette.
The morning breakfast was good eggs bacon/sausage, oatmeal, make your own waffles, orange juice or Apple juice, milk and yogurt were available.
During the week days social hour 5:30pm - 7pm drinks and salads bar and flat bread pizza were available.

I had a lovely room with a comfortable bed. The room was clean, smelled fresh, the AC worked properly, in other words it was everything you would expect. Breakfast in the morning was typical but good. I would stay here again.

This is a great place to host a meeting. The conference room is right off the lobby cafe, but very quiet when you close the doors. Great coffee service in the room, lighting that's easy on the eyes, lots of parking. I hope more of my meeting is happen here!

The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was because getting anything from the front desk, from information to towels, was like pulling teeth. We stayed at this location for a total of 5 days. The housekeeping, maintenance, and driving staff were outstanding. Friendly and willing to help, and if they had the time more than happy to talk about your stay in Virginia! Amazing back of house crew. Keep up the good work guys and gals!

I was very impressed with this Hilton Homewood Suites Charlottesville. My husband is a Hilton Honors guest on a business trip and I tagged along. Everyone on the staff was exceptionally friendly, professional and took pride in their job, ...no matter if it was the housekeeper, food service, or front desk. I mention that because in typical chain hotels you don't see that anymore.
We have been to Charlottesville before but stayed at Hyatt Place which was also good, two years ago. But I think this is much better.
The hotel is only 4 yrs old so it's updated and kept clean. Lobby area and food service area is bright, airy, roomy and clean.
The suites have a kitchen with full sized appliances ie: fridge/ freezer, microwave, stove top, coffee maker and dishwasher. There are plates, pots and cutlery. For us, it's great for having soda, quick snacks or reheating pizza tho if traveling with family you can cook too and save $.
Rooms are generously sized with a living room, separate bedroom and bathroom/ sink vanity. Ps it's Nice to have toilet and shower separate from vanity and sink. The bed was very comfortable.
There are 2 flat screens with Direct Tv and and plenty of storage space with full sized closet. Ps ..free wifi works great.

Gym is updated and larger than average chain hotels. There are 3 treadmills 2 recumbent bikes, 3 elliptical steppers,(equipped with individual tvs) Also a universal and free weights. It's nicely appointed and wonderfully chilly for my workout. The indoor pool and hot tub were great, and I had them all to myself. The music was almost my exact playlist! (70s 80s and 90s) My only issue was the abundance of chlorine in the hot tub. But to be fair, the nice guy that came in to check on things said he had to shock it the day before to balance the ph level. So ok... the chlorine smell finally has left my nostrils. Lol.
Our only complaint per se.. was the ac.
It's forced air with 2 thermostats but very hard to regulate. For me, its either freezing or stuffy warm. It's also pretty noisy when it comes on. We adjusted thermostat a few times. Its like this at other hotels in this category, so probably not much can be done. It was awesome having a ceiling fan in the bedroom and that helped.

Hot Breakfast is included and has an large array of both hot and cold items, including make your own waffles.
There is a beautiful area outside with a fire pit and couches. If it wasn't raining all week I would have loved to sit out there and read a book!
They even have nightly "socials" with free wine and beer and themed food nights for guests! That is a very extra special touch we thought was So great.

Highly recommended. This is where you should stay. Ps... awesome restaurants and shops are 1 mile away. Try Travinia for Great Italian food and don't leave before you try Duck Donuts...omg.

We frequently travel to the Charlottesville area. I am loyal to the Hilton brand of hotels and Homewood Suites in C'ville is by far my favorite place to stay when I'm anywhere near the area. I have stayed at four other hotels within a ten mile radius and no others compare to the high level of customer service from ALL staff members, the cleanliness, the comfort of the rooms and overall amenities. I truly feel at home here and always look forward to the next visit.

The last couple of visits have included what I'm now calling the Homewood Dream Team: Christie, Kim and Lee. They go above and beyond to provide excellent customer service at the front desk and on the shuttle bus. I can't say enough kind words about them and the rest of the staff I have encountered but do not know by name.

Awesome front end service. Miss Loretta runs a tight ship in the kitchen. Food line & dining room were immpecably clean. Our suite was spotless. The doggie rest area is handy — Right next to the elevators. This was our second visit this year, and we're looking forward to the next stay!

The hotel was built in 2014, so all the rooms are up to date and spacious. Having the large fridge and kitchenette made meals easy, since there are three grocery stores nearby. Indoor pool and hot tub made for some relaxing evenings. Breakfast was delicious, as was the weekday social.

So, first of all I NEVER leave reviews... but this in particular did not go over well with me. I love the hotel, its very nice! The free breakfast and the free dinner Mon thru Thursday is awesome..... but room service is horrible. We came back to everything clean except for our sheets, blankets and pillow cases.... we are in extended stay and this is NOT acceptable AT ALL!. Thankfully the front desk employee gave us extra sheets and pillow cases for US to change.. which I do appreciate... just so crazy the cleaning lady couldn't do that task since I did clean the whole room before she came and cleaned! (All she had to so was towels, bed and vaccum)

Hotel was great, bed was good, and people were real nice. It was a bit grungy though, with dirty silverware in the rooms and on the breakfast bar, some stray hairs throughout the room. We were there on a football weekend, so this could have been a result of the rush.

I've stayed here multiple times in different rooms and they are beautiful. Very similar to a condo, it offers a fully updated and stocked kitchen, living and dining room. Every utensil you could need is provided, giving it a very welcoming and home-like vibe (from pots/pans to the wine bottle opener). The out for patio offers a social atmosphere and a plethora of seating while you use the grills

Cannot say enough good things about this place. Brittany was so accommodating to our family. We were on our way to vacation and an ultimate relocation to Texas when our travel trailer was unexpectedly totaled. We have three kids and an American bulldog and had absolutely no place to go. My mom made some calls and found Homewood Suites and arranged for us to come here. Brittany sent a shuttle to pick us up and greeted us at the door with treats for our dog, a complimentary bottle of wine and words of encouragement. She approached us during our stay to check on us. She has been so wonderful and the hotel is beautiful and the free breakfast and dinner is great. The staff are wonderful. One of them told me that my kids were the most well behaved kids she'd ever seen. I just can't sing their praises enough. Royal treatment!

Great Hotel. Staff was friendly at arrival and through the rest of my stay. The hotel appears to be relatively new; very clean, fresh, sleek looking. Nice seating areas outside including fireplace, nice zen-like waterfalls, and even a grilling area with multiple stainless steel grills . The room was large, spacious, clean, and again, very modern. We were here visiting UVA on a college trip for our daughter. Location was great. If she decides to attend this university, or we are in Charlottesville, VA area again, we would certainly stay at this hotel.

Stayed here overnight when my son toured the nearby UVA campus. Very nice suite style rooms with kitchenette and complimentary wine. Staff was great and the hotel is located conveniently to the campus, shopping, and the historic district. A more reasonable alternative to the pricier and older downtown hotels.

Great suites! Everything you need, and then some. With a full kitchen, dishes, dishwasher, etc. you can save a lot of money on dining out if you purchase some groceries on your trip!

The beds have both types of pillows: soft, wonderful down pillows, if that's what you like; and also those foam-filled pillows if you like that kind of thing.

The gym is excellent for a hotel gym, and you can get a decent workout in.

The complimentary continental breakfast is delicious, always hot, and well-made.

The staff is friendly and courteous.

So the inside is great. .. it is clean, modern and welcoming. Breakfast and weekday happy hour was very good. The reason I am not giving it the very best is two things. Although the location is convenient, it isn't the most attractive area outside. Also at happy hour some people were saying how the rates were a bit high. One woman said she paid $239. I piped in not to feel bad for I was charged $259. :/

Great hotel to stay at. We had an out of town wedding and all our guests stayed here. The rooms are superb and clean, beds were comfy. I stayed in both the king room and the king suite, both were great! The hotel offers free hot breakfast and dinner/drinks during the week. Didn't try the dinner but the breakfast was good, lots of options to choose from (eggs, meats, cereal, juice, etc). The outside patio area that's available to all guests is awesome, we hosted drinks for about 50 of our wedding guests out there and it could have easily fit 150 people. The staff was super friendly and constantly would say hello and ask us if we need anything, one of the housekeepers brought us a pile of extra shampoos and conditioners. There is a whole foods immediately behind the hotel and a Kmart next to it if you need any last minute items. It's also right of 29 so it's quick to get to anything else in Charlottesville, definitely worth the price!
