The Hotel Allegro was fantastic! I stayed for a couple of nights and had a great experience! The hotel is conveniently located in the theater district, but is still accessible to other parts of the city. The room was beautifully designed and laid out perfectly to maximize the space. The staff is friendly and the complimentary cocktails were delicious. Check-in was easy, although we waited a bit because the lobby was a buzz of activity during cocktail hour. Price during non-peak times is very affordable, and reasonable during peak times (weekends, Summer). Plenty of parking garages for overnight parking, otherwise cabs and ride shares are plentiful. Overall wonderful experience, and I would definitely recommend for a quick city trip or a long stay!

Was a lovely hotel, staff were really attentive. We had a work event there during the day and stayed for 4 nights. The food and snacks were amazing - borderline too much food and choice! Would definitely return. Free prosecco in the lobby everyday between 5-6pm was the icing on the cake and then a lovely bar to relax in.

The hotel was clean and updated. All of the staff was friendly and eager to assist with all of our needs. Everyone was very pleasant and happy we chose to stay there. The hotel has an arranged social hour in the lobby. The hotel restaurant comes highly recommended. The hotel is pretty centrally located. Everything we wanted was easily within walking distance. Very nice place, we will look to stay there again when we come back.

Outstanding stay! Everything from check in to check out was perfect. Front desk clerk was incredibly kind and helpful. We had a 1 king room was on the 17th floor. Though many have said rooms are small, we found it very comfortable. The furnishings were beautiful and very artsy. The bathroom was new upgrade, bath supplies of excellent quality. Bed was extremely comfortable and we both got a great night's sleep. Our stay was a surprise for my wife. She had no idea we where we were staying and I surprised her with us going to the Cadillac Palace Theater which is right next door and very convenient. We saw Phantom of the Opera. When we checked out, we were able to check our luggage until after the show. We had a wonderful stay here and I would highly recommend this hotel.

The hotels appearance is very nice. As you enter, you can appreciate the age of the hotel. The staff is very nice and make you feel like a welcome guest. As you enter the room, you notice that the rooms are rather small. I feel the room was lacking a place to sit comfortably, such as a small couch or loveseat. I found the bed to be very, very uncomfortable. As I sat on the bed, I could hear the springs and feel them moving as I moved around. I did not sleep well at all. Everything was clean and well cared for. The noise level in the hall was minimal, and there were no problems with other guests.

This is a great hotel and very close to the river area. It's only a ten minute walk or so to millennium Park and plenty of things to see in between. If you are coming to eat in Chicago or see a show in Chicago this is the place to stay. The elevators are a bit slow and the there are no views, but those are the only cons in my experience. Service is excellent all around. The room size is fine. Bed is comfortable although I did not care for the pillows. Bathroom is updated and clean. This is a great hotel to stay in Chicago for a great rate. We would and will most likely stay here again.

I had the joy of experiencing a fantastic wedding here in July. The staff was extremely accommodating and allowed us to check in very early with no additional charge. The hotel has an art deco vibe that I truly enjoyed. The wedding went down perfectly and the hotel staff dealt with our rambunctiousness nicely.

There was a time when the name Kimpton meant that you'd have a 5-star stay, but that no longer seems to be the case. It's still a great hotel, but not what it once was... And it's just little things, small attentions to detail such as: we requested 3 extra pillows, but 2 were delivered, and the ice bucket didn't contain a plastic liner bag, and the hallway outside our room was being vacuumed at 8 AM. There's also better areas to stay in, this area is dead after 11PM. The staff was nice, but we'll likely stay elsewhere in the future.

I loved staying at the Kimpton Hotel Allegro while in Chicago for business! It’s in a great location in the theater district, surrounded by lots of restaurants and bars, and super close to the train station which made navigating from the airport effortless. The rooms are clean and sleek and the mini bar is stocked with anything you might crave. The best part is the happy hour prosecco every night and the free bicycle rentals. I’ll definitely be coming back next time I’m in town.

Absolutely gorgeous hotel, super nice. They gave us $10 towards the mini bar or bar which was helpful. Don't expect privacy when using the bathroom tho, the doors are ornate more than functional and so there's a crack between them allowing you to peek in and hear anything

Decent top-notch hotel. Rooms are smaller than some of the newer nice hotels. Bathrooms are comically small. Hotel bar is very nice - great beer selection. They have bikes for rent, and they hand out running trail maps - very nice touch. Staff is very friendly. Check in was quick and seemless.

Good downtown location near theatre district. Parking difficult so take uber/lift/cab or elevated train from airport. Staff nice. Rooms clean, small and luxurious. View form my room was weak. I would definitely stay again if the price is right.

7

Very nice hotel with comfortable beds and a lovely hotel bar. The elevators are really slow in the morning with everyone coming down for free coffee in the lobby, but other than that no real complaints. Workout facility is small, but has everything you need for a good work out. There is a restaurant connected to the hotel (312 Chicago) which is really good. Rooms are a little small, but have a European feel to them if you have traveled abroad.

The hotel is stunning. From the moment you walk in you feel enveloped in luxury. The staff is all exceptionally friendly and helpful and there's even a (free) wine hour in the lobby. Our room was comfortable and clean though slightly small. My only actual complaint is that they advertised having bikes available for guest use, but when I inquired, I was told they're not available because they're out for service. Considering it's May and the weather is beautiful (only a few months of biking weather in Chicago), this seemed like terribly poor planning.

Let me preface this by saying I'm an engineer that values function over form. This hotel is in the theatre district so a collision isn't unexpected. First the pros: the in-house catered food for my conference was high quality; the melon slices actually had flavor! The staff is professional and friendly. The shower was great. The cons: the room decor is weird; you can't reach hotel staff from your in-room phone without going through several phone menus, even when using the "guest services" hot key; there's no real blanket on the bed so I had to crank up the heat in the room; the bathroom sink is terrible to use, though it looks cool. Again, more artsy people will like it more than I did.

This hotel is absolutely beautiful! You feel such a good vibe the moment you walk into the hotel! We got a room with a queen sized bed. Although the room was quite small, it was updated nicely and it was very enjoyable! Would definitely stay here again!

Very accommodating! This is a gorgeous hotel with beautiful lobby and lounge spaces, and most importantly very accommodating policies and staff. I was staying with my cat and was so thankful for how welcoming and thoughtful they were about your pets. They provide a door hanger that alerts staff that there is a pet in the room. I kept the privacy hanger on my door as well so that my kitty wouldn't be scared by housekeeping. I needed a late check-out in order to leave my cat in the room until my meetings were over. I was able to alert them during the booking online and they politely confirmed it when I checked at the desk. Anything I needed, they treated itwith friendly care. There was free champagne during happy hour in the lounge. The restaurant in the lobby/lounge was lovely with great service. The common spaces were beautiful. Rooms were very small, but there were more amenities than needed. I will definitely look for this hotel brand when traveling in the future, especially with my pet!

This hotel saved the day! First time in Chicago and due to a mistake, we were unable to stay at the place we booked. I called the hotel and explained the situation. The customer service here is outstanding! We were able to get an affordable room and had a great stay. I highly recommend this!

This hotel is beyond words. The design has captured it's Victorian beginnings into the roaring twenties in the newest upgrade. I could feel the good energy left here over many years. This is also the greenest hotel in the city with recycling and no excess plastic or paper. The staff is so kind and helpful. Sean and She's stand out. All staff were appreciative of the history. The mailbox is just pure fun. I have travelled extensively and the Allegro is now on my most memorable list. Highly recommended and thanks for a fun weekend.

The hotel itself it interesting. The staff are kind and helpful. The only real complaint that I have is how small the rooms feel and how thin the walls are. You can clearly hear conversations happening in the next room. Otherwise, it's a neat place to stay.

I really enjoyed my stay. I bed was really comfortable and the room was well stocked with everything that my wife and I needed. I especially enjoyed the robes that they left in the room. The towels were nice and soft as well. The Allegro was located right in the Loop which was walking distance to alot of places.

Located right nearby a lot of offices and shopping. The rooms are very nice, the service is fantastic, and there's always something going on in the lobby. There is a free prosecco happy hour after work hours, tea and coffee in the morning with all different kinds of milk (soy etc.), And overall a great stay.

Beautiful hotel, great location and very friendly staff. I was traveling for business and stayed at Allegro which I found really beautiful and with a high end finish. My room was cosy and kept very clean on daily basis. There is a cocktail bar in the lobby, as well as a restaurant right next to it which serves good food. Overall,I had a great time and I would book again at the next occasion.

The Allegro is situated in a sweet spot of downtown known as "the loop." Because of the location, there's plenty to see and do that's within walking distance. The hotel itself is very nice. The staff are extremely friendly and accommodating and the lobby area is just awesome. It's a beautiful space where guests are treated with amenities. If I had to give a critique, I'd say that the rooms can be modest in size. For those staying here for an extended period of time, some of the rooms have smaller closets and may leave something to be desired in terms of where to keep your clothes. The smaller rooms are great for folks on the run who may live out of their suitcases anyway while on travel! Overall, my stays at Allegro have been excellent. The location, convenience, and the quality of the staff will keep me coming back here for the foreseeable future.

Hotel staff was responsive and friendly and the room was great. Original room was way too narrow for my liking so I upgraded to a slightly larger space for a reasonable fee per night. I always enjoy my stay at Kimpton locations!

9

Extremely aesthetically pleasing. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and accommodating. They thought of everything, right down to the umbrella in the closet. We enjoyed lounging with friends in one of the nooks in the living room. It was cozy, and much more inviting than an ordinary lobby. We were able to park kitty-corner (200 W. RANDOLPH) for an extremely affordable price on a parking-reservation website ahead of time. As if the theaters weren't enough to draw guests; this hotel is walking distance to anything anyone could need. The restaurant 312 had a unique flair on Italian cooking, but the staff is increfible. This hotel is suitable for a vacation, business-trip, or just a fun weekend downtown.

The afternoon started a tiny bit rough once we realized we were sharing a wall with the ice machine for our floor, which made an awful squealing noise when it refilled. However, a quick call to the front desk and they were more than happy to move us to a room with an even better view! The lobby and bar area are really nice and they had some great drinks available. Walking distance to quite a few good sites, restaurants, and bars. In a nice area and felt safe the whole trip. All at a reasonable price. I believe they're very dog friendly as well. I'd recommend this for your next Chicago stay!

7

Nice atmosphere. Room was relatively small, bathroom was crammed into the room. Undersized tub. Faucet was not tall enough for the wash basin, could barely get a glass under it to full with water for drinking, and it was difficult to properly wash hands under it. One elevator was not working, causing long wait times for the elevators. Location was fantastic, close to the train station, and right next door to the Cadillac theater where we went to a show.

We were greeted by very friendly doormen and lobby staff. They got us checked in very quickly and gave us details on lobby drinks, snacks, and bar hours. The room was clean and tidy, albeit a little smaller than most chain hotel rooms. The bed was very comfortable, the TV nice and big, and the bathroom was very modern and nice. Water pressure in the shower was probably the best I've ever had in a hotel. We loved the 12:00 check out time. This allowed us plenty of time to load up in the morning. My only knock on the hotel is that you can hear things outside the room quite easily. For example, we could hear the shower running in the room above us. We could also faintly hear the people talking next door. Overall, we would stay here again in a heartbeat. The location is wonderful - close to restaurants, coffee, shops, and within walking distance of Grant Park.

It's got a very old time feel with a very new age look. The staff was nice. It was wedding season; so it was busy. The sleep, oh my god the sleep was amazing. Our room was pitch black. I stayed at the Allegro for my brother's wedding at a nearby facility. The staff was very friendly and extremely helpful/resourceful. I arrived there a little after 1 and was concerned about an early check in because check-in is at 3 p.m. When I went to the front desk and gave them my name for the reservation, I was given a hotel key immediately. The room was very clean and nice. I really loved the decor. Checkout was quick and painless as well. The staff is very efficient and I tip my hat to management. I would definitely recommend their hotel. I will definitely stay here the next time I am in Chicago.

Good environment at the hotel. Prices were a bit high but the location is walking distance to most major attractions in the city. Staying at Hotel Allegro was lovely. Rooms were nice and the location in the downtown area meant everything was on walking distance. Pillows and beds were soft. But walls were thin enough to here someone blow there nose in the nearby room. If you here to see the city, Hotel Allegro is a good place to stay.

This is a great hotel. Everything about it is exceptional. The people are so very kind and helpful. Even when you bend their ear over and over about things to do and how to get there. The room was very comfortable and quiet. It looks like the hotel has been recently renovated. My wife fell in love with the Kimpton "signature scent" smell of the hotel, even to the point of ordering one of their candles for our home. It is centrally located to whatever you want to do. I would highly recommend this hotel to friends and family.

The opulent Hotel Allegro My wife and I stayed at this hotel for our recent Pack Up + Go trip. It was a beautiful hotel, within walking distance to the trendy West Loop, the Chicago River and Millennial Park. The hotel has a beautiful exterior and interior - the decor reminded me of the Great Gatsby meets 2017. Check in went on without a hitch. The hotel room, although beautifully decorated, was small and cramped feeling. The bathroom was narrow and could only be occupied by 1 person at a time. The doors to the bathroom were like closet doors and didn't lock. We were on the 17 floor and had a magnificent view of the buildings and parking lot across the street. No room service, but we did have drinks at the restaurant attached to the hotel. The prices were reasonable and considering that was the only restaurant open after 8pm in that area, it was okay. No food ordered, just a couple of drinks and some conversation with the bartenders who were friendly and attentive. All in all, the hotel offers a luxurious look and feel, but fell a little bit short in actual amenities. The room was small, but served it's purpose. I just wished there was something more "wow" about the hotel than it's fancy lobby. I would stay here again, although I would look at other hotels in the relative area first.

Our stay here was great starting with arrival. When we arrived, we were helped at the curb with our luggage. The bellhop put it on a trolley and stored it for safe keeping until check in was complete and we had our room number. When my husband and I arrived to our room, the bellhop was already waiting with our luggage. We arrived a few minutes before 5:00, so we were able to enjoy the social hour in the lobby from 5-6. They served bubbly and infused water in their big, beautiful lobby. The room is just as beautiful as the lobby. It's not large, but it is clean and pleasant. There's no microwave, but the a.c. worked well and quietly. There was a stocked mini fridge and snack drawer for purchase. The bed was very comfortable. Also, there was plenty of closet space for storage. We traveled with our dogs, and this place was truly pet friendly including a pet friendly restaurant patio. The only thing that would have been better would be a rooftop green space for pottying the dogs. We look forward to staying again with or without our dogs.

Rooms are a bit small and my king size seems more a queen size. Besides that the rooms are great . Very clean . Great atmosphere. We staid 4 nights. We felt very well taken care of. The only downside was bottled water on the room not complimentary but for 6$ each. A bit too much. Even for a 4 star hotel.

Nice, nostalgic, art deco, roaring 1920's atmosphere! Rooms are small, clean, but quiet! Closets and storage are almost non existent! Staff is very helpful and polite, check in was a breeze! Wish there was a roof deck and/or swimming pool! Haven't been to the gym yet but another guest says it's small also! Practically no view from the small window in my room! ✔

Decent hotel, not great. The 30s style atmosphere is interesting and there is a restaurant attached. Be aware, there is no room service. For a hotel in a large city, at this price point it is something you would expect. The bathrooms are tiny if you are over 6 ft. tall.

I stayed here with my husband and our 8 month old for my graduation. This is the perfect location to be in the middle of it all in downtown Chicago, for business or fun: near public transit, in the theater district and the loop, and a few blocks from shopping, not to mention great food. And the hotel itself has so much to offer, the best being a daily happy hour from 5-6. On a Friday night, there was a huge crowd in the lobby, but we only waited a few minutes for a couple comfy seats to open up. The staff are eager to help, very friendly and personable. I'd come back here in a heartbeat on future visits!

I am writing this review via Google Opinion Rewards. I have been to this hotel, however, I did not stay here. I simply asked an employee for directions to a nearby location because my phone died. By all appearances, though, this hotel is first rate. Staff is very friendly.

I really love the art deco style and I've had a really pleasant stay. Bathroom in my room is tight quarters. The bedding could be a little more cush, but it's fine, I just turned up the heat. Staff has been really responsive. Convenient location. Would definitely stay here again.

Three most important things in any hotel: service, location and the actual amenities. Amenities are stellar. Clean rooms, smallish but comfortable, nice extras such as a yoga mat (it's vacation but I like the confidence they have in me that I'm healthy enough to bend that way), service was also amazing, had midnight craving for pizza and got non-judgemental assistance in getting delivery, and it's downtown Chicago, moments from L. Enjoyed the stay immensely!

This was our first time staying at the Omani in Chicago, IL and we have already booked a second stay. Everyone goes above and beyond to make your stay special. We loved the complementary champagne, the hotel bar, the flavored water, and the exceptional service. Our room was nice and very quiet! We cannot wait to return.

We attended a wedding at the hotel. The overall experience was great, however the only complaint is would offer is the bar area being far too small to house any large social event. There was a lack of seating and staff to provide services. After this, the reception hall was beautiful, the food was great, albeit smaller portions than expected, and the service during the reception was perfect. The suite was very cool, with a pool table and amenities.

When we arrived the people at the front desk sang a song. It was summertime but she sang a Christmas song and cracked me up. "Chestnuts roasting on an open fire..." Our rooms were ready upon arrival. Room was spacious. Bathroom modern. Breakfast what you'd expect. But service was too notch! I had my waffle made for me and any...

Great hotel, much fancier than I expected for the very reasonable price. Prosecco reception every evening! Friendly attentive staff. Prices at the bar are high but I am willing to accept that as part of the deal. Only drawback is that the old building has thin walls so it can get noisy.

I had a very nice room with a fashionable pink, black, and white motif. I haven't used the robe yet but it's incredibly nice. I want to explore the city but I also want to hibernate in this hotel room. Everyone at the front desk was cheerful and helpful.

Very nice. Connected to 312 bar which was amazing. Decently priced for good downtown Italian food. Saw a show at the Cadillac theater and this hotel was perfect, three steps away from the theater. Had many nice amenities, very nice and accommodating. We loved our stay.

this is one of the best hotels I've stayed at personally. we took the train from the airport and it's maybe a 2 minute walk from the stop. doesn't get much better. the rooms are immaculate. they're huge, clean, modernized, and cozy. the wife and I had no issues with getting ready or going to bed. the staff is nice, David the concierge is on top of his game, and there's even a little social hour the hotel hosts in the evening. it is rather centralized downtown with quick access to many attractions. this has made it as easy as possible without a car. overall my experience has been unmatched at the Kimpton Allegro

Check-in was quick and easy, and guest services were kind and attentive. The free prosecco from 5 to 6 was a nice addition. Overall look and feel of the hotel was nice. Location was great. Lots of good dining options in the area, and withing walking distance to a few theaters with big shows playing. The downsides are few, but a big deal in my opinion. Having almost every room booked and being one elevator down was highly inconvenient, and my lazy American ass wasn't about to take the stairs down 15 floors. The bed was not very comfortable and I'm used to sharing a bed with 2 dogs and another human being. Hearing the house keeping knocking door to door in the morning, and being able to hear every single angry guest respond that they didn't want house keeping was probably one of the least appealing ways for me to wake up. If it was the only hotel with an open room in the area, I'd consider a second stay, but it's definitely not my first choice.

If anyone is looking for a great deal on hotels you can check it out on HotelRaven. com Booked this hotel on there and they had the cheapest rates around... The hotel is very nice overall. My room is a decent size (although the bathroom is tiny and isn't well lit), and most amenities are included. Location is good (financial district) and service during check-in was very positive. Would stay here again.

Kimpton threw a happy hour that included free Proseco from 5-6 and we got a coupon to the bar! It's unexpected amenities like these that helped make our stay truly wonderful. The lobby is exquisite with a antique décor reminiscent of the 20s. We chose it for it's central location and value. The room was small but it had a king bed and didn't feel cramped. WiFi was included since we were Kimpton members. The only complaint I have is the body wash really dried out my skin, so when we return to Chicago we'll absolutely be returning to the Kimpton Hotel Allegro.

Pretty average hotel, booked it because of location and price. Rooms are small. Housekeeping staff walked into our room with master key without knocking. Rooms near elevators are loud from people walking by. Overall, will stay again if it's still the cheapest option around.

A friend and I stayed at the Allegro for one night recently while in town to see the Adele concert. I'm a big fan of Kimpton properties, and we were not disappointed. The building is beautifully decorated, the rooms are clean and a nice size, and the staff is friendly and accommodating. I couldn't ask for better. Plus, the location is perfect - right in the theater district. I'll definitely keep it in mind next time I'm in town.

Although I have not stayed at Hotel Allegro quite yet - I felt compelled to write a review on their Sales Manager in Training. Quick summary: My fiance and I are getting married next year, we have paid for a wedding venue already but were notified recently about an Annual City-wide Convention that is taking place on the same weekend... Awesome right?! Therefore, although the wedding is in a year - no hotel in downtown Chicago is able to accommodate a room block for our wedding. I have called EVERY hotel. EVERY hotel is not an exaggeration either. Thank you Google for helping me out! 5 stars for them as well. 5 star reasoning: Ashley (their SM in Training) called me this morning to give me the bad news (they will not be able to accommodate a room block due to the convention taking place). However, instead of being short, snooty and quick to hang up the phone with me - like every other representative I have had the luxury of speaking to from other hotels... she stayed on the phone and gave me alternative planning ideas. Ie... having my guest make individual reservations ahead of time to ensure a room. Sure it's nuts to tell my guests to reserve a room a year in advance, BUT as Ashley reminded me... Their hotel has a 24-hour cancellation policy. She also stated she would send me an email detailing the website to direct them to, which would virtually show my guests which rooms are still available at each of their hotels. Therefore they can reserve at any of the Kimpton Hotel of their choice.... Long story short - Ashley has been the answer to my prayers! I have cried, I have prayed.. and I have cried over this situation... and within seconds she listened to me and assured me that where there is a will there is a way. Of over 15 different hotel reps I have spoken to in the last two days, she is the only one who actually cared to help. That is amazing customer service, and that is why you should book with Kimpton Hotels (Allegro and other hotels under this corp). What other hotel in downtown Chicago has shown this much attention to guests they may not even need?! Not one. Thank you, Ashley!

Good staff. Paper thin walls, tiny rooms, comfortable beds, the sinks were awkward and hard to fully wash your hands and the bathroom doors have an inch gap nor do they lock (no privacy). The first night we had to wait 20 mins to get on elevator but no problem since. The lobby is very nice but rooms are so-so.

Stayed there 1 night for the Chicago Marathon. Great staff. They even let us upgrade our room at no up charge. Although its not a crispy new building, the rooms were modernized, clean, and furnished well. Great location with a parking garage across the street. Will definitely stay there again.

This hotel was wonderful! The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. My husband and I stayed overnight for a quick business trip, and I'm so glad we stayed here. The rooms are very small, but clean, beautiful and well equipped with a mini fridge. The lobby is so inviting, I've never wanted to hang out in a hotel lobby as much as we did on this stay! Will definitely be using Kimpton hotels more often! Thank you :)
