Environment

Property's Green Action

Hotel Mitland can be regarded as one of the greenest hotels in Utrecht. Not only because our beautiful location in a park, but mainly because of the many initiatives taken to reduce our impact on the environment. A major renovation in 2006 made us a true eco-friendly hotel. For example, our roofs are planted with sedum which provides a natural insulation and reduces our energy consumption. Our kitchen is equipped with a special swill-pit for organic waste and our hotel has its own cogeneration (CHP) plant which reduces our CO2 emission. Also when leaving the hotel room your room key will switch the lights off automatically. Next to the above mentioned initiatives our guests can also participate by using their towels twice or turning the heater off when leaving the room.

• Install program for the reuse of towels and/or sheets in guest rooms
• Separate waste and implementation of waste saving initiatives (including food waste)
• Avoid the use of chemical cleaning products with dangerous compounds
• Safe storage of chemical products
• Stationary and paper are environmentally friendly produced
• Implement energy-saving initiatives in guest rooms, e.g. energy-efficient light bulbs, standard-defined heating/cooling temperature, etc.

We stayed in this hotel for two nights. The location is pretty convenient, not too far from the city centre, yet in a quiet area. We were given a very nice room with view to the lake and woods. The staff are nice and friendly. Dogs are welcome. The restaurant however is a bit disappointing, there are better places to eat in Utrecht.

We rented a place here for 1 night to get out of the heat and have some AC for our dog. It was better than expected. They have a lovely terrace to dine on by the lake (fireplaces for winter months). There is bowling, a swimming pool, sauna, and turkish steam room. The rooms were a little beat up, but a great value for the price. As mentioned they allow dogs.

The pictures looks nice, but in reality it's not. Along with the typical Dutch service it's doable but not worth the high price.

An amazing hotel with friendly staff. The rooms were amazing and my view over the garden was nice to have! With a great bath, shower and soft beds, my stay at the hotel was as great as I can imagine. I can definitely recommend going, or even going again for those who've already been there!

I have stayed in the hotel twice, so far!
Super friendly staff, good food, clean rooms and lovely view!
Only last time I had a little problem with the noise coming from the ventilator in the bathroom.
Just for the record, it can be easily fixed!!!

Really nice situated comfortable Hotel with all amenities. Park your car and rent a bike from the Hotel to go to the city centre, takes about 10 min and its a really nice drive. If you have dogs you can go to the park in which it's located. Make sure to book a room to the back of the Hotel, the Street in front might be a bit too loud!

Very friendly staff, comfortable room with a great bathroom. Good sauna with a view to the lake but the water in the pool could've been warmer. The best thing was that the staff allowed us to use to sauna and pool area after checking out and running the Utrecht half marathon, big plus for that. Good breakfast and nice location, I'd say it was walking distance from the centre.

Fine conference rooms and overnight rooms, restaurant had a pretty decent variety of meals. Hallway between the conference rooms and the hotel was about a 1-2 minute walk. Only had some trouble with the WiFi in the hotel room at night. Reported it at the reception, but as I only started one night, i don't know if it was fixed.

Good 4* hotel. Room was clean and spacious with lake view. Breakfast was ok but could have more choice/refresh empty bowls. Full English wasnt great and didn't have proper croissants either. Pool and sauna area was really good. Fitness room was bare minimum one of each machine and no aircon, view of the lake was nice though. Staff all very friendly and attentive.

Great hotel. Very business oriented during the week (as most places are) but the great staff were all very welcoming and accommodating of our children!

Nice bowling alley ( which they were happy to open for us), great standard of food. We had a very comfortable and well proportioned family room with all the mod cons. It's also based in a lovely secluded setting! Would recommend!

Fantastic hotel, very nice selection of fresh and tasty breakfast options, the hotel has bicycles for rent which are well maintained and the staff was fantastic. The hotel is located in a park-like area so lots of green and nature when you look outside making a great spot for an urban break. The hotel also has an indoor pool which I didn't get to use but I hope to during my next stay!
