Property's Green Action

To protect the environment, we are reducing water use, energy consumption and recycling waste with the goal of limiting our carbon footprint. We integrate sustainable development into our operating procedures, contribute to preserve local communities and the natural ecosystems in which our hotel is located. The last but not the least, we engage our partners and suppliers in their sustainable development strategy and integrate them into the responsibility chain.

Certifications

Planet 21 Bronze

AccorHotels created an action plan that offered actions listed below to promote sustainable development, tailored to the hotel context. Those initiatives are structured into 4 pillars & 2 specific issues:

- PEOPLE: Raise employees’ awareness of the eco-friendly practice
- CUSTOMERS: engage guests in a sustainable experience
- COMMUNITIES: work hand-in-hand with local communities for a positive impact
- PARTNERS: co-innovate to open up new horizons

- BUILDING: Move towards carbon-neutral buildings
- FOOD: Strive for zero food waste & healthy sustainable food

Then, to go even further, each hotel selects other actions from over 60 additional initiatives. This flexible system enables it to build its own program in line with AccorHotels’ commitments, but also reflects the hotel’s local characteristics:
- Its prior level of progress on sustainable development
- Its priority areas for improvement
- The environment and local issues

A weighting mechanism establishes the action achievement level with a score that places the hotel around the higher levels. Each level marks the progress hotels are making in implementing the Planet 21 program.

We were there to celebrate our anniversary, hotel provide us some surprise gift. The staff are professional and attentive. Breakfast is perfect, with wide variety of choice and delicious. The hotel is not new, but well maintained. Overall recommended.
Just one thing, the shower temperature is not stable, it's either too cold or too hot.

Seven nights stay had been pleasant and comfortable. Staff was very attentive and breakfast was good enough. However the size of room was a bit smaller than I expected at a five star hotel. The location was perfect for work, tour and shopping.
Dinner in the restaurant at the ground floor of the hotel was excellent and enjoyable and tasty.

Highly recommended for this 5 stars property. Rooms are very well kept and maintained on the daily basis. Friendly front line personnel to make your stay a memorable experience. A nice full service restaurant and the price is reasonable. Location of this property is second to none.

If anybody is trying to find good deals for hotels visit HotelBuIIy. com booked a hotel on there and they had the best rates anywhere!

Well located and professionally run. The concierge were helpful, knowledgeable and affable. My room was spacious, well-equipped and the housekeeping staff were great. Only things to mention are that the fitness area is pretty minimal and there is no swimming pool.

Great allocation and wonderful service. I was looking for gluten free good for breakfast and hadn’t even checked in yet but the manager at the cafe made such a nice packet of gluten free breakfast items. Such level of client care and behaviour, Absolutely amazing. Well done Sofitel lisbon.

Calm and friendly hotel in the heart of Lisbon. The best nights' sleep we've ever had in a hotel, and the best breakfast. Something for everyone and nothing too much trouble. We fully intend to return.

Rooms are typical sofitel standard which is expected. If you have to pay €25 For breakfast don't bother! There are a few cafes a couple of doors down for a fraction of the price. The front desk staff are really not the most polite nor friendly but their saving grace is that their guest relation staff are top notch.

To be accommodated at Sofitel Lisboa Liberdade has been an amazing experience, everything has been looked after at the detail.
And the staff is a 5 star people! I have them in my memories, everyone and, specially Rita Pereira our breakfast server. She is so lovely and so professional. 10 points for her!
I definitely recommend Sofitel Lisboa to spend your time.
Thank you for your service!

Just went for a conference so I didnt get to check the rooms. Evaluating from the general look of the public areas, though, this is an upscale hotel. Staff is courteous and professional but too mechanical. Lacks a bit of friendliness, if you know what I mean... Upscale place.

The room was extremely good - far bigger than we had expected with a separate sitting area. Despite being on the main road the sound insulation was very good so we were not disturbed at night. Beds very comfortable.

The location was perfect for walking or cabbing to locations in Lisbon area. The staff were helpful at front desk, housekeeping. The room was quite nice with one exception. There were no drawers to put clothing and no desk or table to put electronics, laptops, etc and when requested the staff said we would need a luxury suite and they were all booked. we stayed for 9 nights so this was the one unsatisfactory issue. Wifi worked really well and that is a big plus. Hot water kettle in the room also a positive.

Our experience at Sofitel Lisbon was excellent. The room was comfortable and well-appointed. The service was exceptional, including front desk staff, concierge and room service. Our initial room faced the main avenue and was changed to a rear quieter room immediately upon our request. Mr. Karim Aly, Guest relations, was always willing and able to recommend sites and restaurants and attractions. The value was very good for a top-level in-city location near the main train station. We will definitely book again when we return to Lisbon.

Nice hotel with a perfect location in the centre of Lisbon. It's not the best Sofitel hotel I've ever been to, but not the worst either. The couch in our room wasn't very clean, but as I never use it, I didn't really care. Black and white modern bathroom, good quality bed. Breakfast room is on -1 with no windows and a noisy air-conditioning. Food and variety served for breakfast is good.

We were greeted promptly and our room was ready ahead of schedule. In addition to the person checking us in, Claudia greeted us and provided a wonderful overview of the city with suggestions based on our likes/dislikes.

Housekeeping was spectacular - - immediately responded to our clean the room requests while being respectful of "do not disturb" sign which was typically hanging at a time they would normally make up the rooms.

Check in was welcoming and efficient, with particular thanks to, I believe it was, Carlos, head concierge. We stayed in 2 different rooms. The first was small but comfortable. Housekeeping was a bit off there.
We had a delightful breakfast each morning and were warmly welcomed by Carolina in the breakfast dining room. Thanks to Carolina and later Rita, we felt truly at home.

Sofitel was a great choice for Lisbon in an excellent location. We would certainly consider Sofitel again in any city.

We had a wonderful stay. The staff were very helpful and consistently went above-and-beyond. They provided information on where to eat and what to see. They secured a taxi for our 3 am trip to the airport. They were responsive to every request and extremely helpful. And the location of the hotel is perfect.

Our experience was nothing short of amazing. We were treated and felt like royalty from the moment we walked through the door. Everyone that works here all staff are amazing and nothing but courteous and amazing. One person that stood out and helped us from entering and leaving with recommendation of places to go for lunch and things to see even to reserving a table at his favorite restaurant with a view we will never forget. Karim Aly you have earned a customer for life and are a true example of above and beyond customer service! Thank you very much and all the staff just wow we left with our jaws dropped!

Excellent customer service from all the staff. The front desk and reception were very polite and professional, while everyday we were greeted by genuine warmth from the concierge who were extremely helpful and kind. The housekeeping was also excellent. The only minus point I would cite is the size of the rooms, which we found to be quite cramped.

We ended our cruise with a 2-say stay in Lisbon at the Sofitel. Our group of 9 (two grandparents, 4 adult "children," and 3 grandchildren) experienced superb customer service even before we checked-in. Through a phone call made while we were still on the ship, the concierge arranged a driver and guide for 1 1/2 days touring of Lisbon. When arrived for check-in, we were treated like royalty/family. The front desk staff and bellmen placed us in our 4 rooms and made recommendations with respect to holding unneeded luggage in storage rather than in the rooms.

Each room had welcoming refreshments, including a small bottle of port, and wonderful sweets. The rooms were very well laid out, and were light and airy.

The included breakfast was excellent, and the serving staff friendly and efficient.

We are looking forward to another visit!!!

The room was perfect for my week stay. The bed's firmness and size was exactly what I look for in a bed. I'm 6' 5" and the tub was long enough for me to actually be able to take a bath (which was much needed after all the walking I did each day).

My only complaint: the mini bar is extremely stocked with drinks, but the snack selection was minuscule.

Excellent customer service by the front desk personnel upon check-in. Complimentary anniversary gift and letter from the manager made it extra special as well. The staff at the breakfast buffet wete professional and provided an impeccable service. Breakfast "hot foods" need more variety. Room service arrived on time. Room was always clean. I highly recommend this hotel.

Enjoyed our stay in all aspects except for the view from the window. We paid for what I thought was a premium room, instead what we got was a 1st floor window looking at a decrepit former dance hall about to be demolished or renovated. Breakfast was super, bed very comfortable. Room was quiet, very clean and we'll provisioned. We would stay there again.

The hotel may not be right smack in the center of the Lisbon where the action is at but it's not a far walk/cab ride away. If I returned to Lisbon, I would stay at Sofitel because it's an extremely convenient location. Not too near to the noisy city center and not too far as well. Lovely hotel along one of the nicest road in Lisbon yet quiet. Hotel staff were very accommodating and ever ready to be of assistance.

It was our first visit as a family with 4 adults and two small children. We were surprised how cihild friendly the hotel was. The rooms were big enough to accommodate our family and the beds were big enough to sleep two adults and one child. I especially liked the turn down service at bedtime. The breakfast was excellent with variety and tasty spread of buffet. The bathroom toiletries was classy

The service in this lovely hotel was great, from the moment we arrived in our airport transfer. The doorman was helpful with both luggage and directions/instructions. Carlos Ferreira checked us in, with just the right amount of professionalism and caring. He suggested that we take advantage of the breakfast option, and we are glad that he did. The hotel breakfast is not only excellent, it saved us the annoyance of finding a place and we were able to better use the time to tour the beautiful city of Lisbon. Kudos also to Karim, who was also a courteous and helpful staff person. We look forward to our next visit to the Lisbon Sofitel!

I had a simply awesome time staying at the hotel. The attentiveness of the staff coupled with the share attention to detail were just a few of the things that made our trip a pleasant one. From the guest relations manager Claudia to the host at the breakfast Edgar to the doorman Filipe...all in their own way made each experience in Lisbon one to remember and has had a lasting impact. There were a few misses but nothing significant which would paint a negative colour on my overall experience. When next I decide to return to Lisbon, I would in a heartbeat select Sofitel as my home away from home.

We were very pleased with the location of Sofitel Liberdade. Easy to get around the city on foot or a short cab ride. Our room was comfortable but somewhat small. The bathroom was nice, decent water pressure for showering! The in-room Nespresso machine was very welcome for a quick caffeine jolt before breakfast! The breakfast buffet was good but in my opinion overpriced as were the cocktails in the lounge.

This was my third or fourth visit to the Lisbon Sofitel and it met my expectations. The room was spacious and the view pleasant. The window could be opened for fresh air and the facilities in the room were plentiful and useful. What was not liked was the bathtub. It was one of the most dangerous that I have ever experienced in my travels and for the first time I was obliged to use the non slip mat that was provided since getting in and out of the bathtub was extremely difficult. I understand the hotel intends to re-ramp its rooms, I hope that stand alone showers become a mandatory item in each room.

The staff was very welcoming and made our stay very enjoyable. The hotel is in a great location in Lisbon, easy to walk to Bairro Alto and many amazing restaurants. I would highly recommend enjoying dinner at the Ad Lib hotel (in Sofitel) - great service & delicious food and wine (we shared the Sea Bass). Overall, we loved our stay at Sofitel and would stay here again!

The location can't be beat. The staff is exceptional... friendly, helpful, and willing to go above and beyond.
The room is fully appointed, with a great view, and a comfortable bed.
The breakfast buffet was well above average, with a wonderful selection.
Again, the front desk staff was so helpful, and extremely pleasant.

Very comfortable stay in excellent location with superb restaurant. Disappointed that hotel photos on website show a rooftop terrace but in reality this turns out to be the penthouse suite...The lack of any outside terrace other than at the front of the hotel virtually on the pavement detracted from our stay as it meant we couldn't enjoy the lovely weather on returning in the afternoon. The Ad Lib restaurant was excellent in all respects with a superb maitre d' ( 7 & 8 April ) and beautiful innovative food. The tasting flight was amazing value at only 10 euros per person. Breakfast was spoiled by the chef's inability to cook eggs to order - I asked for two hard boiled and they arrived soft.

I can not speak more highly of the staff, hotel amenities and location. They truly went out of there way to make it a memorable experience and to make us feel special. I recommendations by the concierge were spot on, the check in process very welcoming and the general attentive service throughout our stay was exceptional. I have stayed in many hotels and hotel chains and I by far find the Sofitels (and this one in particular) exceed expectations

The hotel is one of the upper class hotels of Accor. The receptionists did a perfect job, room service was good as well and the rooms in an adequate condition for an older hotel. Breakfast is (25€ per person) too expensive, especially for Portugal. 15-20€ might be more adequate. Overall we had a superb time and enjoyed our stay - I would not pay more that 200€ for a room/night.

The staff we encountered were pleasant and helpful, especially Kareem on the front desk.

The breakfast spread had a great selection and loved the fresh pasteis every morning! One slight problem was that tea that was brought to us was often much too strongly brewed. I'd suggest giving your guests the option of having just the hot water in a teapot and a choice of tea bags so that they're able to brew the tea to their liking.

Although we enjoyed our stay we were slightly disappointed by the luxury room we were staying in. The main problems were:
1. Lack of hanging storage space, one side was just shelves. It would have been better to have had another hanging space, replacing some of the shelves.
2. The bathroom layout was awkward, over-designed and impractical in many ways. Again there was ample space to have had a better layout.
3. The mattress seriously needed to be replaced, it was sagging on the sides and gave very little support.
4. I noticed fixtures in the bathroom were also damaged or not well installed.

We stayed in the London Heathrow Sofitel after our stay in Lisboa Sofitel and that was a smaller room but had a nigh on perfect layout. But I think that's because the London Heathrow Sofitel is a completely new building so could be designed without fitting into an existing building space. I suspect the Lisboa Sofitel requires a refresh at some point and would recommend that the design of rooms follow the layouts of the London Heathrow Sofitel where possible. Please note, we had similar criticisms with the Paris Sofitel.

But in spite of those criticisms I would like to thank the staff at the hotel for an enjoyable stay.

Just spent a week in Lisbon staying at the Sofitel on Liberdade and what a wonderful experience. Staff were so friendly and helpful we could not have asked for more - nothing was too much trouble for them. Rooms were very clean and tidy every day with little extras every evening, a nice touch.
I would definitely recommend a visit to Lisbon and a stay at the friendly Sofitel on Liberdade.

Excellent in virtually every aspect. Our room was very spacious, with top notch linens, and perfect in almost every way. The staff was beyond terrific, and recognized all of us by the first day, and went out of their way to be helpful.

All of their recommendations were wonderful. The location is also great. Very nice neighborhood, and just a 5 minute walk from old city. The metro is literally right at the hotel. This was perhaps the best bargin of our entire European trip. I would definitely recommend, and return.

Luxurious atmosphere for a fair price. Nice rooms. Just a little bit noisy in the night, because of the main street in front of the hotel, but still okay!
Therefor it is very central with a Metrostation just 100 Meters away!
The service is very good and the breakfast is outstanding! One "room" just with fresh fruits. A very good start for a day in Lissabon!
