Property's Green Action

To protect the environment, we are reducing water use, energy consumption and recycling waste with the goal of limiting our carbon footprint. We integrate sustainable development into our operating procedures, contribute to preserve local communities and the natural ecosystems in which our hotel is located. With all sister hotels, we have already planted three million trees as part of a global reforestation project supported by the United Nations. The last but not the least, we engage our partners and suppliers in their sustainable development strategy and integrate them into the responsibility chain.

Certifications

Planet 21 Bronze

AccorHotels created an action plan that offered actions listed below to promote sustainable development, tailored to the hotel context. Those initiatives are structured into 4 pillars & 2 specific issues:

- PEOPLE: Raise employees’ awareness of the eco-friendly practice
- CUSTOMERS: engage guests in a sustainable experience
- COMMUNITIES: work hand-in-hand with local communities for a positive impact
- PARTNERS: co-innovate to open up new horizons

- BUILDING: Move towards carbon-neutral buildings
- FOOD: Strive for zero food waste & healthy sustainable food

Then, to go even further, each hotel selects other actions from over 60 additional initiatives. This flexible system enables it to build its own program in line with AccorHotels’ commitments, but also reflects the hotel’s local characteristics:
- Its prior level of progress on sustainable development
- Its priority areas for improvement
- The environment and local issues

A weighting mechanism establishes the action achievement level with a score that places the hotel around the higher levels. Each level marks the progress hotels are making in implementing the Planet 21 program.

Hotel itself was ok. Nothing special about the rooms. Could be better. Location though is excellent. Right around the corner from Ikseon-dong!

Rooms are very small and toilet are even smaller. Don’t think this is a 4 star hotel? more like 3 star. The pillows sink all the way to the bottom as u put pressure on it there is not cushion. Staffs are efficient and attentive, but the breakfast cooks the same every dam day. Boring. Location wise are still quite central, not sure if I will consider this hotel again. :/ did not take pictures because nothing is nice to be taken Lol

We visited again in October 2019.
Room was clean and comfortable.
All staff were very helpful and courteous making our stay a pleasant one. We stopped for 17 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay in South Korea. We are just working out the dates for our next visit in 2020.
We will be stopping at the Hotel Ibis again !

I visited Korean last week and lived in Ibis for 3 days. I'm very stupid that I forgot my wallet in the safe and left Korean without it.

It is kind that the front office of Ibis checkd the safe for me and found my wallet.
They mailed it back by ems. There's nothing missing in my wallet. I'm very appreciated. Thank you so much.

it's kinda different with the service you may be used to in the west. there's no bellboy to pick your luggages, but anyway it's cozy and practical. though if you're here for shopping i suggest try in those area. the rooftop area is nice, in day or night, there are many night streetfoods or hangout place in this area. my only complaint is that there are no mood/nightlight and/or there are no option to dim the lights.

IBIS ambassador Myeong-dong is located in the heart of the action. The limo bus from the airport 6015 takes you direct to the entrance of ibis (100m away) from Incheon Airport in about 1.5hours.

The ground floor of ibis seems like a common area that non guests can also sit around but other than that the room design and customer service was very good. The toilet seats are also heated which I enjoyed. The other bad thing is that the shower doors are not tight and water leaks out.

I tried the traditional Korean room but couldn’t get used to the hard floor and buckwheat pillow. Thank goodness the heater worked well! The location was great but my husband and I will probably find a cheaper guesthouse if I wasn’t traveling with my in laws.

Good hotel in Insadong area. It’s very close to the palaces, the Insadong art street and some good restaurants as well. The staff is very helpful and guided us well. The hotel also provides shuttle at designated times which goes around many stops (we used it for Seoul station and Namadeom market). Overall a great experience. Breakfast was also decent.

Nice hotel in a grear area in Seoul, near many desireable attractions and sights. Staff was friendly and helpful. The room was a bit on the smaller side for north American standards but the bed was suoer comfy. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Comfortable clean Green hotel. Please bring your own tooth brush, tooth paste and shaver. About 10 minutes walk from the nearest Subway train station. Google map is not well established here. So get good tourists maps and take photo of detailed mail at train stations to help with your navigation.

Small rooms but adequate for two. Bathrooms are quite small as are the showers but workable. Staff is friendly. Hotel has water dispensers on each floor versus leaving bottled water in the rooms daily. Rooms also have micro fridges and safes. There are several convenience stores within easy walking distance of the hotel. If you need a pharmacy I could find none within walking distance which were 24 hour. Also a new Paris Baguette is about 100m West of the front door which makes for a decent quick breakfast.

Rooms had adapters for foreign power but not transformers so make sure your straightening irons, curling irons, etc can take 220 voltage. TV had about 60 channels. Maybe 15 were English language - CNN, Disc, VoA, CNBC, BBC, Bloomberg, and a few others.

Hotel has shuttles to the surrounding area. Uploading photo of schedule from 9/2017. Hotel has free WiFi that seems to work reasonably well. I had good signal and speed the duration of my stay.

A few quirks: like the Novotel, they use a slot by the door for holding one of your key cards. This keeps power on in the room when you are present and turns it off when you leave. It also controls two lights on the wall which appear to have no on/off switch. We had to unscrew the bulbs to turn them off when needed. Bathroom light is on the outside of the bathroom next to the door. Micro fridges do cool down but are not 'cold'. They also have no freezer area so you won't be storing your melon flavored treats there. Water bottles do ok though. Laundry room has a massage chair but it is almost sadistic on some settings.

There are power plugs immediately beside the beds so phone charging while you sleep is easy.

For the price this is quite a nice place. I would definitely consider staying at this hotel again.

Fantastic location for anyone who wants a base that is walkable from a lot of different things.
It is a Central hotel, so on the pick-up list for all of the organised tours that I looked at.
Most signage is in English as well as Korean. Some has Chinese and Japanese as well.
The restaurant seems to be only open for Brekkie and Lunch, (but that might be because of the Public Holiday), but there are lots of eateries and convenience stores within a 5 min walk.
There is no drinking water in the rooms, but water machines are located in every floor in a little room near the lifts on every floor.
I love that I can open the window in my room for fresh air.
I REALLY love the rooftop garden.
The gym is good. 3 treadmills & 3 bikes + other machines means I've not had to wait around for equipment.

I stayed at this hotel for one week because I was volunteering for a special tour in Korea.

Hotel wise, its comfortable and clean. The rooms may be a little cramp but it wasn't a huge issue for me. There's free, fast WiFi in the rooms and in the lobby. I didn't find the design of the bathroom too appealing though because the toilet was positioned weirdly next to the shower stall and when you sat down your feet would extend into the shower.

They have a nice breakfast dining hall (not free), usually with a good variety of food. However, the breakfast items stay the same everyday. The hotel also have a basement spa, which is really nice. I went there everyday and it was really clean and modern, perfect for washing off and relaxing at the end of the day.

The location of the hotel is not bad too. Just a few blocks away is the Insadong alley, a great place for shopping, dining, and walking around. Also, the metro station is only a 5 minute walk from the hotel, so it's easy to get around the rest of the country.

By far the best ibis hotel I have stayed "in the world". Such a good service for a 3 star hotel, the ideal location for tourist. I recommend this place for anyone who is coming to Korea for the first time, and also for those who live in Korea and just want to have a break.

Good location, nearby mrt station, situated in the old town of seoul so nearby to 3 palaces. Room as standard but convenience and they have triple bed so one family can fit into 1 room. At the basement they have coin operated laundry machine, 2 washing and 1 drying machine, which quite busy at night. We didnt have breakfast in hotel so cannot score the food. Drinking water are freeflow from machines available on every floor, you just need the container.

This hotel is amazing! It's in a fantastic location with great restaurants and attractions. The rooms are clean, the facilities are organised. The staff members are great too especially one staff member call Thomas, who went the extra mile to provide help for my family and to make my wedding day special. Thanks Thomas! :D

I had my wedding reception at the hotel and I would recommend the place to any future couples who are looking for a reception for their wedding.

Lots of love from London and I will visit the hotel again.

While the rooms may be small for Westerners who are not used to it, the space is adequate and provides everything one could need on their trip. Workers are wonderfully friendly and work their hardest to make your stay as enjoyable as possible! Laundry, gym, hot bath, bar, great breakfast. Very close to many restaurants.

The place is near a market place, just a walking distance with stores wherein you can by inexpensive gifts, the hotel itself is nice but the rooms are small and the t&b is smaller, you will hit the sides if the shower cubicle when bathing, don't expect big beds though very comfortable.

Pros. Staff was friendly, rooms are a fair size, location is great and easy access to other great places, room service was respectful as well. The beds are very comfortable.

Cons. The shower doors are not sealed very well so the entire bathroom floor, 청약통장 is pretty small tbh, was always flooded after a shower. Not the end of the world but can be annoying.

Overall a good spot to stay at.
