Environment

Property's Green Action

To protect the environment, we are reducing water use, energy consumption and recycling waste with the goal of limiting our carbon footprint. We integrate sustainable development into our operating procedures, contribute to preserve local communities and the natural ecosystems in which our hotel is located. With all sister hotels, we have already planted three million trees as part of a global reforestation project supported by the United Nations. The last but not the least, we engage our partners and suppliers in their sustainable development strategy and integrate them into the responsibility chain.

Certifications

Planet 21 Bronze

AccorHotels created an action plan that offered actions listed below to promote sustainable development, tailored to the hotel context. Those initiatives are structured into 4 pillars & 2 specific issues:

- PEOPLE: Raise employees’ awareness of the eco-friendly practice
- CUSTOMERS: engage guests in a sustainable experience
- COMMUNITIES: work hand-in-hand with local communities for a positive impact
- PARTNERS: co-innovate to open up new horizons

- BUILDING: Move towards carbon-neutral buildings
- FOOD: Strive for zero food waste & healthy sustainable food

Then, to go even further, each hotel selects other actions from over 60 additional initiatives. This flexible system enables it to build its own program in line with AccorHotels’ commitments, but also reflects the hotel’s local characteristics:
- Its prior level of progress on sustainable development
- Its priority areas for improvement
- The environment and local issues

A weighting mechanism establishes the action achievement level with a score that places the hotel around the higher levels. Each level marks the progress hotels are making in implementing the Planet 21 program.

Literally 2 minutes by foot from the train station. Rooms are ok but the bathroom is barely large enough to sit on the toilet.

Rooms are very small..same like bathroom. And you can hear every sound from halls. Also if you are on the side of train station dont open window because monkey from station talk whenever some train coming. Location is only good thing

Small rooms but good standard and nice beds. No fridge, good Internet. Modern bathroom, but easy to splash water on the floor when showering. Air-conditioning was mot active/working, but possible to open window on bathroom for good ventilation.

The ibis is a great hotel if you are using it as a base for your trip. Rooms are compact but has everything you need. The service is good. The staff are friendly and helpful. It's has everything you need with in 5min drive of the hotel. I would use this hotel again.

It's okay. There isn't a free parking. You can park outside where you need to pay or in the hotel's parking area where you need to pay 11 € per day. The room is very small you get two towels. There isn't mini Bar.
For 2 star hotel its not that bad. Although if you plan your trip earlier you can get a very better room in another hotel for the same price. Anyway the bed is very comfortable.

Noisy and right next to train tracks. Small rooms with bad insulation towards the corridor. Bed Ok. Location Ok. Small rooms but to be expected. No gym or any kind of sport facilities close by or onside. Cheap.

Very close to main train station but expensive considering room size and outdated interior design, comparing to other ibis hotels. Staff is friendly though.

The hotel was very easy to find with the signs pointing the way to the hotel. It is located less than 5 minutes from Essen train station. There are 6 floors serviced by two large lifts. We stayed on the 6th floor and could not hear anything from the street. The service was friendly and efficient. There is a parking lot which is chargeable but there is overnight street parking available.
