Came here a few years back, deciding to put on a review now.

I really enjoyed my stay at the hotel, great, reliable, friendly service, brilliant view from the two different rooms I was in, very good location wise, right near times square, couple minute walk to the nearest subway station, but not to hectic around the area. So overall deserves 5 stars. Thanks!

I have been to the Intercontinental twice, both times they have never let me down. The Bar is very fancy and the food is perfect! Staff are extremely helpful and polite. Rooms are very clean, and beds are extremely comfortable. Would highly recommend to anyone who wants to stay in Manhattan!

Decide to use our Ambassador Complimentary Weekend voucher at InterContinental Times Square. Generally, a pretty pricey hotel, but you can see why. Our upgraded room was very spacious and had a pretty great view, especially at night. The bed might have been the most comfortable at all the hotels I’ve stayed at.

Great location that is near Times Square without being directly in all that craziness.

I accompanied my friends on their first trip to the Big Apple so I wanted to make sure everything was perfect as far as rooms.
Cons:
-There was a $400 deposit for incidentals for each of the rooms that would be returned to us at the end of our stay. Nothing on the website mentions this so in addition to the $1000+ you spend for a few nights be sure to have an extra $400 before you even venture into the city.
-For there to be this immense deposit, the room had been a little worn. There was a hand print on the wall from previous guests. There was a stain of something spilled on the wall as well. The paint/wallpaper started to peel in the other room. This is an unacceptable presentation for a supposed 4-star hotel.
-The most humorous thing is that they charge $8 for "Caffeinated" coffee but provide decaf and tea K Cups for your room.

Pros:
-The hotel is located right in the middle of the Theatre District. A few blocks from Times Square. 20 minute walk to Central Park.
-Very comfortable soft beds.
-Room service is quick and the food was very enjoyable.
-Our room was pretty quiet but our friends was noisy because it was facing the street.
-Room and bathroom were spacious.

A really nice hotel. We choose a room for three and it was spacious enough. I was worried because being in times square i thought that the rooms would be small but no they were really good. The staff was very nice and attentive, they helped us book tickets for some shows and tours without problem. Apart from that the buffet is so worth it. All kind of things fruits, eggs, dumplings, bacon , waffles and pancakes. The location was perfect just 5 minutes from the times square center.

Great hotel, good location. Easy walking distance to a majority of attractions. The staff are helpful and the rooms are spacious. The bar is good and a nice spot to grab a drink of you are waiting around. Breakfast is excellent of a little on the pricey side.

I was here for a business trip and I am really impressed. You can explore best of new york city just in walking distance from this hotel. This is really expensive hotel but it is really worth it. Views from the rooms are best and rooms are very clean. Customer service is good as well. Just one thing i did not notice was that they charge for all the items available in the room. Not their fault though! I never went to Gym but my friends told me it was great as well. Definitely consider this if you have some money to spend!

An oasis from the Times Square madness, this hotel is well located next to a subway on 8th. Fairly quiet and refined, you can relax once inside. The rooms were well appointed and large especially for NYC. My shower was updated and had good pressure. My only negative was that the front office staff were not quite as welcoming as I would have liked. Also, there is no breakfast for ambassador level so I was borderline between 4 and 5 stars.

Good clean hotel with a mid sized conference area. Very close to the action, but not noisy. You're within walking distance of most of the Broadway shows and 100's of restaurants. Even a short walk to Central Park if you're adventurous. Staff was very friendly and did their best to accommodate an early check-in as we caught an earlier flight and arrived before noon.

very satisfied. we originally booked a king bed studio, but the manager gave us a free upgrade to the penthouse suite, which was absolutely phenomenal, even though breakfast is not included it is worth the $35 price (per person). We were very pleased and this hotel had amazing views, as we were on the 36th floor (3610). Thanks Again to the manager for the amazing room. Will definitely come back when visiting NYC again.

I did the research, and picked the room that is right for me (2210). Got the best room with views on three sides over the times square area... fantastic. Have a new appreciatation of the city because of the rooms. Had some drinks at the bar, and while the service was slow, the drinks were good and made up for it. Location is great. Everyone seems nice..

Next to metro station and time square. Warm staffs. Received warm welcome as platinum member. Room is clean and comfortable. Water pressure a little bit low (understandable given the height of the room). Too few bars to hang towels in the bathroom even if I want to go green. Power delivered by one of the power outlet seems too low. Very comfortable beddings.

This is not my favorite Intercontinental Hotel so my review is sort of biased because of that. It's New York so you don't expect the same service that one would get in Boston, Chicago or Miami right.

Well when I enter into an Intercontinental I do expect the same level of service and quality each time. I get that it's New York and space is limited. I get that it's New York and no one cares as much as other places. I get that it's tight and cramped everywhere in New York but really?

Again I'm biased based on other intercontinental hotel properties. First off let me say that this is a beautiful hotel. I truly like the property and the amenities completely. The location is great and with the subway right here and in Times Square you can't ask for much more or can you? If you're in New York then no you can't. You have to base it on the location so based on the location I'd give this property 5 stars but being spoiled by other properties I'd settle for the 4 that I've rated it at.

Unfair? Yea, I agree that it is but it's all based on personal opinion anyway.

In any case when I come to New York this property is my property of choice. The gym is nice, the restaurant is very good and again the location you can't beat. It's ways clean and we'll kept. The staff is kind and do their jobs fully so I never have to worry about what I'm getting when I come here because I know and have come to expect it.

Amazing hotel. Spent a week and didn’t want to leave!

Was upgraded to a corner room with great views uptown / over the river. Rooms a decent size for New York and very comfortable.

Didn’t eat in the hotel so can’t comment on the food. Smiths restaurant across the road is a good breakfast spot and very reasonably priced. There is also a shake shack at the base of the hotel.

Location is perfect for many midtown locations, 5 minutes walk into Times Square and just far away enough to be slightly less chaotic than a few minutes closer. There is a subway entrance right by the hotel and port authority bus terminal is just a couple of mins away (perfect for bus to Giants Stadium)

All the front desk and door staff were very nice and looked after us.

The only negative is that it’s set expectations unfairly high for all other future hotels now!

Desperately needs renovation. Drawers are broken, faucets are loose, and walls are stained. Location is absolutely phenomenal, however. It's right next to the port authority. The A, C, and E subway stops at the hotel more or less (subway station entrance right next to the hotel). Rooms are small. The delux upgrades? Don't get too excited. It's about the same size as a regular holiday Inn room, if not smaller. The customer service is great. Front desk is always very amicable and gets issues solved quickly. Ask them anything, they'll get it done.

This was my second stay at the InterContinental on Times Square. The staff were friendly on both occasions and this time in particular I was upgraded to a beautiful room/suite with multiple views of the city. I love the atmosphere of the hotel and the room was very spacious and clean. I also enjoyed dinner in-room overlooking the city and breakfast before I checked out! Thanks for making my business trips relaxing. I will definitely be staying here again!

Had booked a room in August 2017 for 3 nights. Got to hotel and room wasn't ready. We were told we had another room for the 1st night and will be moved to our room which will be ready the next day. Not ideal. We wanted to unpack our stuff so we didn't have to carry it about the hotel. We asked if we could just stay in the same room for the full weekend. We were told no.
Was unhappy with the customer service.
Hotel was nice. Pretty central. 5 minute walk from Times Square.

This place was amazing! My room was huge, and not just by NYC standards. The bed was exquisite, with nice linens. Everything was clean. The bathroom was spacious (for a hotel bathroom). The location was beyond perfect with great views. I would definitely stay here again!

I truly got 5 star service at this hotel. I requested, and was granted, an early check in. It was quick and the agent was kind and informative. Due to my status I was upgraded to a higher floor with a better view. I was very pleased with that as well. The view was phenomenal and the location was just close enough to Times Square, while also being just far enough away. The hotel bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was gorgeous. The waterfall shower head above was a very nice touch. We were close to Port Authority and right on the corner of a Subway station which made travel around the city very convenient which was important for my visit to Manhattan. They also have a restaurant, The Stinger, which I regret not having the time to try. The drinks were very tempting though from what I saw. Check out was quick and painless with the app on my phone as well. Overall I enjoyed the room, hotel, and location.

Of the many hotels we have stayed at over the world. (Including the London Ritz). We rated this the most pleasant hotel experience we have ever had. It ticked all the boxes. Location. Housekeeping. Wonderful polite pleasant staff from front desk to Stingers Bar. From the doormen. Bell staff. Terrific. Close to all dining and bar outlets. Simply outstanding. Will make it our base on future visits. Excellent.😘

Good hotel right in theatre district. Had a corner room with great views to times square. Moderately priced and convenient. Also had a Shake Shack attached on the corner better than the room service menu. Have stayed here several times over the last few years. They are doing some updates and should make the hotel nicer. Park across the street and it is discounted by almost 30$

Centrally located, amicable customer service and also the facilities made this hotel best choice Families and Solo..

Breakfast is too good and all major attraction on walking distance..

Other hotels claim to be near time square but.actually far from it. but this one is defitely step away from time square.

View From top floor is awesome.. you can have a look at the magical lighting and enjoy as much as you can.

Highly recommended

We love the Intercontinental NYC. The views are so amazing and it’s one of the best ways to enjoy a glass of wine in your room and just watch out the floor to ceiling windows. If you can get higher and facing time square, you get these amazing views of the city and even sunrises. Made waking in the morning and enjoying a cup of coffee even more relaxing. Highly recommend for romantic getaways! I’m not a fan though of the restaurant, but room service is great.

Really nice hotel, great location, close to the Time Square and all kinds of activities downtown they even have their own entry into the subway system and they're ready help immediately with either cab or limo driver. I took the limo driver one night and had a great time with him very nice guy so a lot of really good key points in the city within 2 hours. It cost $100 for this guy but he was so informed and so in tune with the city we saw so many good things and we did not waste her to anytime at all. It's really easy to waste a lot of time which we didn't want to do. If I had it to do over again I would have taken this guy to begin with. We had a great time Thank You Intercontinental Hotel.

Great location for walking to nearby tourist spots such as Times Square or NY Public Library. Lobby of the hotel was clean and modern and front desk was able to check us in and out quickly. I booked a room here for my girlfriend's birthday. We just stated a single night but had 0 issues. The room was very nice and well appointed. Sadly I didn't have time to take a shower but it looked quite refreshing. The charge for late checkout was a bit of a disappointment but oho well. I had let the hotel know it was her birthday when making the reservation and they were nice enough to send up a small dessert for her. I've drank at the bar here previously and it's also very nice and the cocktails were quite good.

Very good location. Only one block walking distance to Time Square, but quiet. Lots of food choice around. Friendly staff. Got upgrade to a higher floor room with nicer view. Good size room for Manhattan.
Check-in/out could take a while during rush hours. Be careful with mini bar items as they are tracked by sensor. My kids removed the cans out of the fridge which showed up in the bill, but since we didn't drink them and put them back, they removed the items from the bill. There is no club lounge at this location :(

Nice rooms, pleasant and helpful staff, and a nice bar downstairs. There were a few minor things that bothered me though. Ironing board in the room was the cheapest piece of garbage and was all bent up, so much so that it barely balanced to iron my shirt. The iron itself was old and took a pretty long time before it produced any steam. Wet bar in the room was quite expensive, however it was locked so I couldn't even indulge if I wanted to. Definitely on the pricey side but it is their premium brand so it was expected. Overall good, not great.

This is a good looking hotel. The common areas and guest rooms are up to date and clean, with modern decor that makes the place look classy. If you can afford it, this is a great place to stay right at Times Square.

I have stayed here 4 times now, mostly for business. It is a bit pricey, which is to be expected at that location. But you get what you pay for. It's a nice place.

The restaurant is good: nice variety for breakfast, good cocktails and snacks at night. Service can be a bit slow at night. But overall, cute place that is unique due to the honey they make/provide (look it up, kind of interesting).

My only criticisms are that the service can be a bit pretentious at times and that everything comes with a price tag. Breakfast is pretty pricey. You can easily find breakfast for half the price outside the hotel.

Nice place to stay once, I was wowed the first time. You can get more for your money elsewhere though, I believe. Still worth trying once.

The InterContinental is very clean. While I was here to work at the Javits center, this hotel is close to the NYC that people come to visit. Times Square and Broadway are right here. The food surrounding the hotel in 10 blocks is amazing. For NYC the hotel has very large rooms, with limited NYC noise. A good place to stay.

Very nice hotel in the center of tourist madness. Clean and roomy guest rooms. Very nice, attentive, and helpful staff (font desk - Darlene is a darling). Ok, I don't give out many 5 star ratings but these folks definitely earned it. The check-in process was quick and friendly, they have a parking deal setup with the lot across the street, who were also friendly and efficient, the concierge was friendly and helpful, the room was very nice, and the location was hard to beat. Yes, it's expensive but it's New York right at Times Square.

I will caveat that it was a busy weekend before a holiday. Nevertheless, the desk was utterly mobbed at check-in and check-out, as if the hotel was understaffed. Consequently, the desk and bell staff were impatient and borderline discourteous. Despite an offer to try to get us checked in a little early, no one told us when our room was ready. As for the room itself, it was dank and humid, requiring the AC to be run constantly, and it was on a low floor right by the elevator (in spite of expressed preferences to the contrary). We were provided no toiletries in the bathroom. And, it appears that I have been charged $5 for I don't know what because I still have not received my folio. I would not stay here again.

Great location in Times Square and easy access off the West Side Highway. Parking lot directly across the street was most convenient and affordable. The Intercontinental Times Square is really in Hells Kitchen a couple of blocks over. This is an advantage as the restaurants along 8th are a bit more individual and interesting. It's a bit less touristy. The hotel lobby is very modern and plush and the bar there is also really nice.

Unfortunately I have to give it 4 stars because even in an upgraded room, I struggled to get past the end of the bed to the other side of the room and there certainly wasn't enough space to roll a suitcase there. The room decor is very nice but the basic 3 or 4 room times are inadequately small even by NYC standards. Nowhere to put room service etc. I guess as a solo traveler for a couple of nights it's fine but it isn't cheap and I think as a couple we'd be falling over each other. I'm sure the nicer rooms are just fine if you have the budget.

The hotel it self was lovely, a great mksxutr of modern but also homey with art work on the walls and flowers. The rooms were excellent. Clean, comfiest beds I've ever slept on at a hotel, not to mention a lovely few of the NYC. My next trip I have definitely going back there.

This was our second trip to NYC and whereas we stayed at the Westin Times Square when we last visited on our honeymoon, this time around we wanted somewhere a little cheaper but still close to the action of Time Square. The hotel was in a perfect location and the services and rooms were of a very high quality. The view from our window was perfect, I was transfixed as to how the car park across the road worked and spend more time than I should have gawping out of the window as the cars were going up and down on a lift. The views only got better when you looked down the street and you could see the ladies strutting their stuff in the dance school above the jazz bar below, the street had everything. For the price and location I cannot fault this hotel and look forward to my next trip...

We were in NYC for a buddy's wedding on a cold March weekend. The hotel's central location was key. From CPS to SOHO and up to 125th, it was all easily accessible. The room was fine. We stayed for one night. I really liked the shower. Disappointed there wasn't a lock on the bathroom door and there wasn't any toothpaste. But overall, had a good time. It's in a great location. About half a mile from times square

Love the room and the shower. Spacious and beautiful. Am disappointed that the fridge is unusable except to purchase overpriced snacks. My medication requires refrigeration, and a second fridge had to be delivered to the room for the medication that takes the same space as a large water bottle. I can't see how that is cost effective. However, the room, decor and conference areas are all top notch.

Catering was professional and staff was courteous. The space was a little tight, perhaps a bit overbooked. Facilities were clean which was important. Overall the experience was positive.

Clean and well-maintained hotel, also close to times square. The rooms are sufficiently spacious and comfortable and the bathrooms are clean. The hotel is a little pricey though.

Good drinks, clever theme. Needs updating: full windows offered unenchanting view of billboard and car lot, no separation from loud lobby. Service was a little slow. Some comfortable seating.

Room was very clean. This is a block or so from the middle of time square. The room had a great view. Would stay again.

This, like most other InterContinental locations, is very nice, clean, and friendly staff. Of course the location, size of rooms, and quality of service raises the price point a bit, hence the 4 star rating, but if you want a quiet and well kept place to stay, this is the place for you. I would recommend.

Rooms and facilities were great, location is obviously great, too. They still owe me $70 for two breakfasts, though. I asked the waiter repeatedly why I had to sign any bill at breakfast if it was settled by my travel agency in advance (I also had that written in my booking everywhere). He was like "oh it's just a formality, we don't have a system to cross-check your booking from here". Like what? "If they (pointing at front desk) see that you have already paid, we won't charge you". I was like, okay, not going to argue over breakfast about that. This turned out to be a lie, a week after I left they charged my credit card. It's so unprofessional, I don't think it's even worth complaining to Intercontinental. I mean if they really don't have a system to check their bookings properly, I ain't going to be the one to help them set it up. I just won't stay at an Intercontinental or any affiliate again, and also told my company to pick any other chain when possible. Breakfast choices were poor, but I mean, I could've just gone out to eat, I only ate there cause it was paid for already.

Loved the room, the price and the view! Self-park is also right across the street (+$40) which was super convenient. Room was big enough for 4 people.

Awesome upscale hotel in midtown. Staff is great, facility is very comfortable and we'll updated. Location is perfect, just off times square. Can't say enough good things about this hotel.

Excellent location, 5 minutes to times square and theatres in easy reach.
Service is very good, rooms are very good and cleaned daily. I would stay here again.

Stopped in for drinks at the newly named Todd English bar. Creative drink concepts. Bar food was quite good. Friendly and crowded atmosphere but not annoyingly crowded. Most people were smiling and laughing so it had a good vibe.

Went for a drink and late night snack. Excellent food and service. A but pricey, but we'll worth it.

Nice hotel with smart rooms in a great location. Got a great upgrade to a Skyview corner room as a Spire Elite member on a points booking. Didn't really interact with the staff as we basically used it for sleeping but never saw the bell boys do anything other than chat to each other...

Really great hotel. Super staff. Excellent, if small, rooms. Good, but not great location. Very solid choice for NYC.

Accommodations were nice, but didn't get the room I requested (a view of the next door apartments and air conditioning units) and the special requests were not honored immediately (a bottle of wine to celebrate my mother's 75th birthday was to be waiting in our room upon arrival). Staff was superior, BUT did have to wait 20 minutes to speak with the concierge on two occasions. I will return here if the occasion presents itself.

This hotel is in a great location, which is a 5 minutes walk from Times Square. It provides easy access to sites, restaurants, theaters, shopping and night life.
The rooms are modern and bigger than average for NYC.
Our room was on the 30th floor, with a huge double bed and had a fantastic view of NYC city life

All staff were very helpful and friendly.

I would definitely stay here again.

First time in the USA.Nothing to compare it to, but if first impressions are everythring, then Deborah Harry is righta. It's their skyline, power and passion..the seat of the Union and it's amazing people that will never leave you.New York and the Intercontinental will never leave you less than breathless. What a place.

Very nice rooms. Front desk staff needs slightly more customer service training. Holiday Inn in SOHO is almost as nice, just in a "worse" location for tourists.
