Nice hotel, but some things could be updated. For example, the carpet in my room was pretty worn down. Water stains on the bathroom ceiling, although maybe that comes from the humidity. I had to get the cleaning staff to clean all the air vents in the room as they were filthy and who wants to breathe that stuff. The bar staff are fantastic though. Order a club sandwich and sit back and relax. Try a Melbourne Gin with Elderflower tonic. Wow!

Great hotel in Wellington. The service is outstanding. The beds are extremely comfortable, the club lounge is lovely and has a lovely view. We enjoyed our daily breakfast here and 5pm canapes. A great location. I would definately stay here again.

I enjoyed my stay here, the staff were helpful, the rooms were comfortable & modern, amazing beds, & with all the little extras which are not always expected but certainly make a difference. It wasn't until leaving & checking into my next hotel I gained the full appreciation. This will be my go to for Wellington moving forward.

Hotel breakfast included but it is a very limited choice. Even seating is limited that we were seated away from the dining area. Ordered coffee and didn’t arrive for 20 mins that I’ve just left.

The rooms are slightly older but it is well kept and clean.

Amenities as expected of a luxury hotel. Beds are super comfortable and big.

Very nice hotel
Would have liked to be in a higher floor having requested it but still good stay and nice facilities. Basic gym considering 5 star hotel.
Would stay again though. Great location in the city centre and close to all facilities.
Nice meals at the restaurant.

Superlative dinner. Excellent breakfast. The rooms more than met my expectations of a premier hotel. The flashest place I have ever been lucky enough to stay. Brilliant staff right from check in through to the charming gentleman--elegantly dressed the part-- who took care of the parking and transfers to and from the hotel.

Excellent location with many shops and attractions nearby. The rooms are reasonable and breakfast good. My room also had a view to the harbour.
The only sore point is the design of the bathroom. The bathroom doesn’t have a convenient place to hang your clothes or towel. The service is good. Parking a costly at 35 dollars per night.

My wife and I stayed for two nights, 9 & 14 March 2018. We are Platinum Ambassador members so stay in Intercontinental throughout the world.
This on is situated in a good location, within the city, good views of sea from higher floors, and a easy walk to Te Papa.
On arrival on first night, no one was available to park the car so had to drive down car park myself as there were other cars waiting behind us. I parked where I could which ended up being wrong area. One of the staff eventually parked car in correct place. There was no dedicated valet service. It was the Concierge that was having to do too many things which was cause of problem. I suggest management review this.
Check-in first night was fast and efficient. Our room upgrade was nice and we were given a bowl of fruit.
Our second night on the 14th, check-in wasn't as good and we weren't acknowledged as Platinum Ambassador members, weren't given a room upgrade, nor were we given a bowl of fruit. The room wasn't as nice and we had view of office building.
Breakfast buffet very nice and had what we required. Restaurant staff very good.

Yeah this was a bit of a let down for us. I booked a 'nice' hotel for a getaway with my fiance. We found the concierge staff to be a bit 'cant be assed' with this and were bordering on rude. It wasn't terrible service but not what was expected from an intercontinental. Front desk staff were great. Didn't try the food. Pool was dated but did the job. But the worst was the cleanliness of the room. There were hairs in the bathroom, miscellaneous crumbs on the sofa, splatters (coffee maybe) on the outside of the room door and what looked like blood on the main light switch. We were just there for one night and we didn't kick up a fuss but did give them feedback. They were very apologetic and full of intent to do better. But hey this was a one off trip and it was all too late. I bet on the brand and lost.

For what you're paying... It's less then average service. Not to mention all the issues with basic requests like dietary requirements and wanting to use the USB on the TV (listed as a feature of the room).

Rooms are very nice though. It's the only reason why they are two stars and not one...

I had a lovely room here, which was a corner suite-like space. Two large televisions, a very comfortable bed, and a spacious bathroom. You can catch the bus to the airport a very short walk away. The bar on street level was closed for renovations, which was a shame, but it felt like a luxury hotel that I'd return to, if I could afford it.

Staying with a friend who has lounge access. That was fantastic as the oysters and prawns were fantastic. I had more than 20 oysters. Free breakfast buffet over there as well. Rooms and the rest were as you expect from a 5 star hotel. So all good

Centrally located in town, so it’s a short walk to shops along Lambton Quay, or restaurants along the waterfront.

Their public restaurant (Two Grey Street) offers a nice alternate option to the more formal Chameleon in-house option.

The rooms are well proportioned and the gym and health facilities are as you’d expect from a hotel.

Usually busy, but inviting, with polite and courteous staff who are always around and happy to help.

I have beeb here for a few conferences and it is a nice place. Very cosy entrance area and bar. Friendly and professional staff. Food for the conference was nice, but not amazing. May have been due to the conference and less a reflection of the hotel. Very nice public bathrooms. A little outside my price range to stay

Great hotel in the heart of Welly. Stylish modern rooms are very comfortable and up to date with USB and power at the bedside tables and large LCD TV. Beautiful bathrooms with large shower. Good pillow menu and luxuriously soft bed. Service is excellent and staff are all very friendly and professional. Really nothing to fault during our stay.

Very very nice hotel. Very comfortable beds. Really enjoyed "pillow menu". You can choose what sort of pillow you would like to use. Very interesting feature. Then we went to the SPA. very relaxing atmosphere in there. And, of course, had dinner in Chameleon. The food is absolutely outstanding! Knowledgeable staff, helped us to make our mind. Overall, really enjoyed our stay there.

Attended a meeting/conference and stayed overnight in a king suite 8/9/17 - 9/9/17 and was very impressed with the building but most of all the helpful friendly nature of the staff. We were greeted politely even just when passing staff in the hallway. We had lunch in the conference/meeting room area and the food was very well presented and staff were immediate in replacing empty food platters which was very efficient and organised. We also dealt with staff in reception, concierge, lounge/bar and the chameleon restaurant and was impressed everytime we had an interaction with any of the staff members. Matt in concierge was particularly helpful when we made an error parking our car. We will be back and would love to make use of the pool and fitness facilities.

A top class hotel in the centre of the city with shops, cafes and restaurants on its door step. It's 5 minutes walk to the harbour and 10 minutes from Te Papa.

Great hotel. Room is renovated well. Very efficient high quality and friendly service. Club on level 7 has good view and good options for canapés and drinks.
The only thing is the wall between rooms is not very soundproof so sometime can hear ppl talking or coughing.
Overall I am very happy and definitely will come back again.

Have stayed a number of times but was disappointed this time. I was woken up a number of times throughout the night due to people working outside the room. Finally rang up reception at 12:20 and stopped from then on. The next morning a number of colleagues reported the same experience on a number of different floor levels. I can't understand why management would allow it at that time of night, especially when it started off and on around 9:30pm. They could have at least given a courtesy call if it was urgent work.. On a positive side note the restaurant is still providing quality food.

Hotel is very nice now that the renovations have been finished downstairs. Bar and restaurant are nice, and food prices are good for a high end hotel. Rooms are very comfortable and tastefully decorated, but the fancy electronic lighting system seems to have a few teething problems - my curtains wouldn't open. Also, Wi-fi is patchy and not particularly fast.

It's not the cheapest hotel, so what I find most annoying is that they take a deposit/pre-auth on your card, charge for the room on top of that, and then only release the the deposit afterwards. This takes 5 business days, so it means there's a big chunk of money on your card that can't be used. This is infuriating if you're travelling and racking up expenses. Why can't hotels just use the deposit as part of the payment, or at least have a way to free this money up more quickly?

The Intercontinental Wellington hosted our daughter's wedding on March 8th 2014 and many of our overseas guests stayed at the hotel afterwards.

Megan Bradshaw managed this event for us and I must say she was truly outstanding. She did not miss a beat and attended to our every whim. She oversaw every last little detail and made sure the Lambton Ballroom was transformed into a ballroom fit for a princess (Our Princess).

Megan you were truly magnificent and your attention to detail is a true credit to you.

The staff on the night were just perfect - and many of our guests commented on how amazing they were. A very special mention to our barman who was so attentive and obliging.

The newly refurbished rooms were also stunning and a credit to the hotel. I have stayed in many hotels throughout the world and this hotel meets the highest possible standard. Their service is impeccable.

I must also say that the concierge have been equally outstanding. From the moment we began our journey (almost weekly visits beginning several months before our big day) they took care of us and showed a genuine and warm interest in the upcoming event.

Truly outstanding and a real credit. Many thanks to you all for making this day so very special.

Again a very special thanks to our Wedding Manager, Megan Bradshaw, who patience, dedication and support guided us through this special chapter in our lives and brought together an event which was truly exquisite and beautifully memorable.
