63 Mount Road Guindy, Chennai, TN 600032, India Access

ITC Grand Chola, a Luxury Collection Hotel Chennai

With its awe-inspiring size and grandeur, ITC Grand Chola is a veritable destination unto itself. Located in the heart of Chennai the hotel is a palatial tribute to Southern India?s greatest empires ? the Imperial Cholas. There are four separate entry points, each with its distinct artistic identity. The hotel welcomes guests in 522 rooms and 78 serviced apartments, each of which is a triumph of design aesthetics. The ten food and beverage outlets bring regional, national and global cuisines to the cognoscenti. It offers one of the largest conference, banqueting and exhibition spaces in the country.

Situated along the Bay of Bengals Coromandel Coast and considered the musical and cultural capital of India, Chennai is the capital of the state of Tamil Nadu. Formerly known as Madras and established in the 17th century, today it is Indias fifth-largest city. Perfectly poised on Mount Road, the ITC Grand Chola is near the downtown business district. It was designed to recall the grandeur of the Chola dynastys golden era, replete with regal fabrics, artefacts, and richly-layered motifs that adorn its lavish interiors. Additionally, Chennai International Airport (MAA) is a mere 8 kilometres from our enchanting private oasis.

Catch a glimpse of Chennais rich history at Fort St. George, Indias oldest surviving British construction that was erected in 1639 and the site St. Marys Church. Or view Kapaleeshwarar Temple, a stunning example of Dravidian architecture that was built in the 7th century. Peruse the treasure trove of artefacts at the Government Museum Chennai. Its 46 galleries display everything from art, archeology, and anthropology to botany, zoology, and geology. Also engaging is the Birla Planetarium, which features interactive exhibits. Inside this hemispherical theatre, visitors can watch a spectacular show featuring the cosmic world and astronomical mysteries on a computerised projector. Created by the Chennai Crafts Foundation, Dakshinachitra showcases different Southern Indian lifestyles and traditional regional arts and crafts. Other intriguing curiosities are 60 kilometres away at the historical seaside destination of Mamallapuram in the Kanchipuram district. This district is known for its exquisite temple architecture, stunning saris, and fine local exports.

Enriching and evocative entertainment can be encountered at Chennais highly-regarded classical dance shows, music, and arts. January visitors should attend the annual Chennai Sangamam arts festival showcasing myriad forms of Tamil Nadu arts. Hundreds of artists

Rooms are of very high standard. Comfortable beds and pillows. Automation systems allow you to control a variety of things. You can even see who’s outside the door and open the door if you want from the bed. Well thought out bathrooms with bath tubs and shower and mirrors everywhere. The rooms and the staff make you feel good. That’s what you expect from a hotel like this and it’s on point. Food and beverage is on par with your expectations!

This is a grand place. Inside out, it feels like a palace. We've dined here few times and every time the experience was wonderful. They have few numbers of restaurants for different culinary. Their Madras restaurant is multi cuisine and having widest variety of menu. The buffet in there is awesome with great foods. Although I personally think few Indian cuisines are not up to the mark and may satisfy foreign taste buds but definitely not Indian ones. Being a top grade luxury hotel, Grand Chola is super expensive but you must go there if you can afford

ITC Grand Chola is huge. There is a lot of space compared to most five star hotels within the city. Stepping inside feels like getting into a palace. I visited the chocolate bar inside and was impressed with the quality and taste of the chocolate, not to mention the helpful nature of the staff. I just wish there was an easier way to get into the hotel from the bike parking area.

I visited the restaurant called Madras Pavilion Buffet Lunch. Array of delicious dishes veg and non-veg. I loved all the food from Soup, appetizer , and main courses and desserts. I love veg Veg Briyani literally melted on my mouth. Only request to ITC is to refill fast the dishes.

The ITC Grand Chola is in a class by itself. We stayed at this hotel for a conference, and it was a fantastic experience. The room was absolutely incredible - with state of the art technology. As well, the food was wonderful - we ate at multiple restaurants within the hotel. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Awesome hotel. The ambience is really amazing. A great place for stay. Ideal and hosting conferences and personal events. Really antique looking furnishings every corner you go. Restaurant & bar is commendable too.

One of the upscale properties in Guindy, Chennai. Sprawling and Spacious property with multiple convention halls. All standard facilities expected in a 5 star hotel are available. Average food quality. Has an outdoor swimming pool and business center. Has convenience stores. Some parts of the hotel looks worn out.

Went to Madras pavilion for lunch buffet. They have a wide spread of items to choose. Starters and main course were delicious. Ambience is unbeatable. Service is also very good. However not satisfied with the dessert course. They have many varieties but nothing appeases the tongue very much.

Best hotel in Chennai. Be ready to shell out some heavy bucks though, because it also happens to be one of the swankiest. You can be sure of excellent service and comfort and it also houses some of the best restaurants in Chennai. It also boasts multiple banquet halls for any sort of a party, wedding or an event.
They might charge a bomb, but you'll be sure to get your money's worth.

Stayed at this exquisite hotel for 10 days while on a long business trip. This hotel is beautiful, very clean, and has excellent staff. The room was great, as was the air conditioning which is important as Chennai is very hot. Every restaurant was excellent, and the breakfast buffet was huge. I loved my stay here. Be sure to try the South Indian coffee!

It is indeed a beautiful hotel. I rather mention it to be a palace. The ambience was great, the rooms are great as well. The staff were helpful, courteous and informative. All these would be quite common for a hotel of this stature. However, the experience one gets upon is more important. It sometimes not just about the money which is buying you the luxury. Rather, it is the experience that leaves in awe of it all. This is certainly one.
The cigar lounge is good. They don't have Cuban. However, they do have cigar from Dominican Republic.
All said, it does define luxury.

a truly five star hotel in the middle of the city ; the swimming pool area on the terrace is amazing - would have preferred better maintenance. The terrace garden is beautiful. The rooms are grand and feels rich. The bathrooms are spacious. The food is great as well ; the morning breakfast buffet is not to be missed ! The service is top class , feel there are just more people than required. I have stayed her few times and every time, I have had great experience. The front desk reception is warm; the entrance is grand ; just everything about this place is grand and in big scale

Attended a conference event here. Excellent lunch and great ambience. One less star because there was no valet parking and basement area (B2) was too confusing for me to park my car. They could have added a few securities in the parking area or at least should have had directions of entry, lift lobby and exit. Very poor. Planning in this aspect from such a prestigious hotel.

Loved the place. It's a palace with beautiful Architecture. You can spend a lot of time by moving around the Hotel. Rooms are also very good. You can control everything through a tab including lights, music, TV, Doors, Cameras, Services, etc. I even liked the food that we ordered. I will always prefer this if I am in Chennai.

I stayed here on two occasions and on both of the occassions there were conference. This place is very good to arrange conferences as they have 1000+ capacity banquet halls. Theirs buffet spread is also very nice with many choices and local delicacies as options. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience here from business and conference perspective, yet to explore any personal experience.

Very beautiful hotel. The house keeping staff are very friendly and helpful. Good selection of restaurants in the hotel. The remainder of staff however are unfriendly, unhelpful and apathetic. The staff present at breakfast are generally rude and unhelpful with a don't care attitude. It is a buffet breakfast, but it is very difficult to walk around with waiters buzzing around and you have to get out of their way as they will not stop and let you pass. Orders will just be dropped on your table without a smile or word, whether you ordered it or not. Dismal service. There is also a North Indian-South Indian squabble going on that is very apparent between staff.

Excellent place with ample space for dining.... Excellent menus with great hospitality. Must try Hotel in City. Beside everything the cleanliness maintained by the hotel staff is awesome. Quality of the food is a key highlight. They have many options for both veg and non veg, particularly for veg when compared to other hotels the options is in wide range.

Great place for stay or in our case a staycation. We also did the whole body Spa and head massage. It was a great two days. Start the day with some gym to work up an appointment. The head for breakfast which had a spread which was huge and you end up filling yourself. Then laze around the pool or plan a Spa session to relax yourself. Then go a for evening excursion to the beach or market.

A grand hotel with an impressive decor. The grand staircase greets you as you enter the lobby. The hotel boasts several restaurants all supplying typical Indian food. The appetisers supplied in the buffet are a nice touch but leave yourself room for the large selection of local food. There is a gym/spa on-site. The Spa offers a large selection of massage and beauty services. The hotel is located around 15/20 minutes from Chennai airport. Typically this hotel attracts families and business types. A great location for whatever you plan to do during your stay. Service as often found in India is simply the best. They work hard to impress.

Was confused between four and five stars. Gave five in the end. A truly grand hotel. Courteous staff and great food. The Cheroot Lounge is good too. My room was not perfectly cleaned on arrival. The table was a bit dirty and there was spider web on the table lamp. Though they made it perfect after calling housekeeping and left a welcoming note with a rose. Probably, it was not used for a while.

My experience at Madras pavilion this time wasn't the best. The place has very good decor and ambience. The soup and desserts were very good. However the main course wasn't great. Despite the amazing spread, none of the dishes felt up to the expected quality.

Awesome place to stay at Chennai. Excellent rooms with eye soothing view from all windows. Food is also enticing. Huge auditorium to accomodate over 1500 participants. ATMOSPHERE: Wow - this place is literally a palace. It is fit for a King/royalty. Red velvet seating, And there were plate covers that looked like royal crowns. And they give all the ladies that attend the restaurant Jasmine for their hair. It doesn't get much more luxurious than this! And it set in one of the most luxurious hotels around = the ITC Grand Chola!

STAFF: Amazing. Everything/anything you need. They are dressed like royalty, and treat you like a king. Amazing.

FOOD: We got the multi-course dinner (not sure what it was called). It was amazing. One course after another, served in a royal setting, in the most amazing array of goblets, dishes, etc. It was top shelf. The food flavoring was impeccable, and the variety of foods were amazing. The spices and sauces were delicious.

Grand Chola lives up to its name with extreme grandeur from the architecture, interiors and services offered. The hotel has a great selection of restaurants for each person's personal taste and preference. Every bit of detail in the hotel has been thought out with precision. The rooms offered are posh, extravagant and at the right size. Overall, it's a hotel which earns the title of being the 'Best Hotel in Chennai'

It started out as the best hotel in south India, and is still good, but somewhere I see the Grand Chola losing its charm. I stayed in room 2105 in which an electricity plug didn't work. Unexpected. Buffet lunch and dinner quality and spread is amazing, but the taste of many food items is average. Its location is good, between the airport and city centre. And it's very good for holding conferences

One of the best hotels I have visited. 5 star's in true sense. Excellent ambiance friendly staff. Though they have more of management trainees than regular staff. May be that the way of cost cutting these days :-)
Rooms are nice and cosy with a view to slum area and they also have balcony attached to the rooms without any access to it. May security issues??
Complementary breakfast. With lots of variety of food items. Fruits, baked items South Indian north Indian etc

Went to the Cafe Mercara Express. A luxury cafe with an international menu. Loved the quiet and the calm.Loved the courteous service and loved the milk shake. It is open 24 hours. It would be a great choice for your craving for midnight coffee. The cafe is inside ITC Grand Chola hotel. The architecture of the Five Star hotel resembles constructions from ages of ancient Chola kingdoms. Huge mansion with vast campus. However, you will have to pay top dollar for such top stuff!

The hotel is amazing. The rooms are spacious for the price. The cost also includes an extravagant breakfast buffet. The hotel really caters to Westerners but even locals enjoy the food here. Absolute class experience. Apart from the grandeur infrastructure the key element of ITC Chola experience is its staff members. Every one of them is very polite and serves to satisfy you. They take extra effort to give you the best experience. The hotel's features are as what you'd expect. There might be some on and off days as I've heard bad experiences from people I know too. In general I've had really pleasurable experience. The dining experience at Madras pavilion is also great. They even surprised me with a wedding cake on my wedding which was a very nice thing to do. Keep up the good work ITC Chola. Cheers to your staff.

The ITC Grand Chola in Chennai is probably the best hotel I have ever stayed in or seen. It far surpasses anything I have ever seen in the United States. The staff are friendly and will go out of their way to help you with anything. The food in their restaurants is amazing. The flowers in the lobby and everywhere throughout the hotel are refreshed daily and always make the place smell beautiful. The decorations and general hotel architecture is beautiful with marble everywhere. On top of that, the hotel received LEED Platinum certification in 2012, which probably where they get the phrase "Responsible Luxury" from. The rooms are nice and well attended. Everything in the rooms is automated and new. It is a hotel I would recommend to anyone.

Great hotel with warm staff. If you come expecting perfection, you will be a bit disappointed. It has beautiful marble, flowers, and well dressed staff. The details are sometimes missed... faucets are installed slightly askew, buffet food sometimes cold, eager but slow service. This would not be noticeable if you were in a "normal" hotel but when in such a high end resort you might be expecting more. If you enjoy the beauty, relax patiently, and decide not to let these things bother you, you will have a wonderful stay.

The palatial ITC Grand Chola is a sight to behold. Grand white marble archways and golden chandeliers crown most of the open spaces and provide an unparalleled mystique to the place which will entrance even the most astute visitor.

The staff is courteous and exceeds every expectation in hospitality, making it one of the premier luxury hotels in India.

What separates it from the rest is it's courteous staff, well maintained rooms and banquet space. Food you get in the restaurants and banquet is the best as compared to other 5 star Hotels in the country. A must visit luxury Hotel in life time

Situated in the Guindy Institution Area in Chennai merely 7 Km from the Chennai Airport. It's a grand, imposing structure designed in the tradition Dravidian architecture of Chola period. Spread over a large area, it's a palatial hotel filled with luxury. Houses numerous awarded restaurants offering cuisines from all over the world. The interiors with grand chandeliers and marbled walls and imposing walkways and galleries are a sight to behold. The staff is well mannered and greet you with a polite 'Namaste'. The Cloak rooms, bathrooms, are maintained spotless. The interiors are quiet and luxurious. The buffet spread has delectable dishes from all over India and the mutton dishes are worth mentioning. It's a ultimate 5 star experience !!!

Get ready to be treated like a royalty to the most extent. Amazing place to stay at. Mixed experience with the front desk staff. Prashant from Madras Cafe was amazing . He took care of us to the highest order. Sumptuous breakfast with abundant and absolutely amazing South Indian options. Great place for kids too. Too bad they had to stop serving alcohol @ happy hours , because of their close proximity to the highway , could be a deal breaker for many given the expensive accommodation.

Grand halls and staircases. Will make you fall in love with the traditional Indian royal tradition. Very easy to spot from road. Good quality rooms and suites available. Please be aware that the hotel and restaurants have stopped serving alcohol since May 2017.

5 stars for the design and build, with such a concept. The food is definitely worth every penny. The luxurious interiors are an amazing architecture. Landscape is beautifully done. Potential landmark for Chennai in the coming years.

Rating 4 stars for the ambience. Food was okay. Depends on the menu. Expected more from ITC group. Menu really sucked. When we went they mostly had only lambs and sea foods. Im being a chicken and egg person wasn't satisfied with the menu. Dessert option was way good.

Had lunch at Madras Pavilion. Being a vegetarian myself, I feel the spread is limited. But one cannot taste everything they have. Taste, ambiance and service were great.

Room was large and very well maintained with all amenities including an office space, laundry/shoe space and a hall. The universal IPAD remote was very useful, it controls the entire room. Bathroom was spacious and clean. The breakfast was the best I have had at any hotel so far. They have multiple cuisines for breakfast. The entire hotel ambiance is terrific, makes one feel like royalty living in a palace. The hotel guest service was also top notch. This is the best hotel I have stayed out at, will definitely stay again when I get the chance.

The decor and layout is amazing. I was upgraded to a suite and it was majestic. The lounge is good but no alcohol served. There was some ban in the hotel. Overall good food and good service

Overall experience was very good. Exceptional, warm and friendly staff. Loved the pool area and spa and the Italian restaurant. In fact the Chef is Italian and from the Tuscany Region. Highly recommend the Hotel.

We ate lunch at the Peshwari restaurant, which serves Afghanistan cuisine. The service was impeccable, the food delicious, and the atmosphere welcoming. I would definitely go back again.

It's a classy place. It may be expensive but it's one hell of an experience. It has food of many cultures. The buffet in the restaurant has a wide variety. The dessert options are mouth watering. Must go!!

Opulence served in an epic manner. Definitely deserves the title of one of the best luxury hotels in the city. Fabelle is a great new addition! The architecture is simply amazing and once you step in, it's like you're in a completely different dimension.

The ITC Chola is an epitome of grandeur and luxury. The sheer size, opulent interiors leaves you dumbstruck. But the flip side of it being you tend to feel lost a bit too.

I stayed for a night on business and felt it too short a period to just get a glimpse of the entire hotel. The room was great with a comfy bed and some very jazzy interiors. The somewhat let down was ITC trying to market their own products especially the toiletries. A fab place like this deserves better.

Had a great breakfast and must admit haven't had such wonderful idlis for a very long time.

Overall service was very warm and courteous and leaves you feeling pampered.

Overall a very enjoyable but short stay but I will be back for more

Good place to Hangout. The Restaurants are often booked fully. Need to book in advance for seats and foods are not that much costly as you think. A place you must visit and enjoy the ambiance& other services. Have all types for drinks in Bar.
