Le Meridien Nice

1 Promenade des Anglais, 06000 Nice, France Access

Le Meridien Nice

Discover a modern design hotel in Nice and unlock the timeless elegance of the South of France. Offering a chic French Riviera beachfront hotel setting, Le Meridien Nice is the ideal place to unwind, indulge and relax in the alluring Cote d Azur. Located at the iconic, No 1. Promenade des Anglais, just steps away from Nice Old Town, this family friendly hotel invites guests to take in everything the destination has to offer. Be captivated by exhilarating views of the Mediterranean Sea from a selection of the 318 luxury guest rooms, including 15 suites. Reimagined to evoke the glamorous 1960s, each curated space reflects regional and cosmopolitan flair. Delight in local flavours and creative cocktails at Latitude Bar. Head to the rooftop with its panoramic Baie des Anges views, experience elevated dining at La Terrasse or awaken the senses with a dip in the outdoor heated pool.

The Old Town of Nice—called “Vièia Vila” in the Niçois dialect—is a remarkable place to explore. Just a few minutes walk from the resort, one charming alley winds into another, revealing marvelous treasures along the way, each infused by a rich legacy of history, art and culture.

Considered the epicentre of the entire Provence-Alpes-Côte-dAzur region, Old Nice combines Provençal history and the quintessential Niçois way of life; authentic charm and modern flair. Classic Belle Epoque buildings with trompe-loeil frescoes stand at every corner. Dynamic public sculpture exhibits decorate the streets and town squares. The famed flower market overwhelms with a dizzying display of colour and fragrances. The chic galleries showcase the vibrant local and international art scene, while the fashionable bars, restaurants and nightclubs overflow with locals and visitors alike.

For the worldly traveller, the resort could not be more ideally located. Just a stones throw away, the citys luxury boutiques beckon—fine jewellery in Avenue de Verdun, fashion designers in Rue Paradis and Avenue de Suède, accessories and fragrances in Rue Alphonse Karr and Rue Longchamp. Each window display more elegant and tempting than the next. A 20-30 minute walk takes you to the renowned MAMAC with its contemporary masterpieces and the Musée des Beaux Arts, housed in a grand 1800s villa built for a Russian princess. Only slightly further, the Matisse Museum inspires with its distinctive red walls and exemplary collection.

Whether dining, sightseeing or simply gazing out over the spectacular backdrop of the Mediterranean Sea, Nice offers something delightful for everyone.

Fantastic stay at le Méridien in Nice. Great service with a very caring, friendly and helping staff. Really appreciated. It makes you forget the renovation work in the lobby ;)
Don’t miss out the Terrasse restaurant and swimming pool! And before I forget, they have a partnership with private beach Le Galet, just across the street. A perfect way to enjoy the open sea!!

Beautiful location and view of the Mediterranean Sea. However, the hotel is under construction and we missed the seaview restaurant, banging/sawing throughout the day, and experienced an unexpected power outage at night. This said, the hotel staff was polite and very helpful during or 7-day stay. We look forward to visiting again when the renovations are completed.

Really nice hotell. The placement near the old city and the beach was nice. The rooftop pool delivered too!
Clean and good rooms! Had some problems with the shower sink the first day, but was immediately fixed when reported.

Lifetime gold SPG since 2004. If I ever had a problem it was solved immediately. Never a complaint until now. Great location to the beach. Great view. Rooms are good. This is where they get you. As they have location the customer service is optional in their view. As you probably know when in France service comes with a clear expression of “I really don’t care” however in this case it was clearly a case of laziness and attitude. Went to the beautiful rooftop outdoor restaurant to experience the view and enjoy lunch. Don’t mind paying $140 for 3 salads and a hamburger to have a great experience. However the 2 Cesar salads were a little dry. So we asked the waitress Idina for a little more dressing for both salads. She stated that the salads were prepared the right way and if we wanted extra we should have told her ahead of time. Once we demanded more dressing she brought back a thimble. We said we needed enough for 2 salads she then said this is all you get. Complained to management and got an “I’m sorry. Stay away from this place at all costs. There are a lot of great restaurants in Nice. Try them not the roof top at the hotel. And it’s a lot less expensive. Not a Le Meridian fan anymore.

You’re laying for the location with this hotel and it’s totally worth it!!
Stayed here for two nights the little one loved the pool on a warm sunny day and the beautiful carousel that was just a block away.
The rooms are decent and amenities about the same ( no kettles in the rooms and the pool doesn’t have a lounging area) but you get a clean hassle free stay with an incredible view ( if you book one).

Our room was in the 8th floor so we got a huge terrace where we could hang out and watch the ocean. It truly felt magical.
Tip if you could get a room on the 7,8,9th floors. You’ll get one of those sweet terraces to chill and watch the city go by.

Booked the executive room that has an amazing garden and sea view but unfortunately I can’t understand why they didn’t provide a kettle for tea and/or coffee. When I asked about it, it was NOT complimentary with the room! Very bad idea as I can tell you that even a “Bed & Breakfast” room would have such complimentary stuff included!

As a frequent visitor to Starwood properties, I was thrilled to see Nice had a Le Meridien during a recent work trip to the South of France. I quite enjoyed my stay and wouldn't hesitate to come back.

A couple of additional comments: the hotel was difficult to access by car. Road construction didn't help that, but finding the underground parking garage was a challenge. The room was good, but the bed was significantly more firm than I prefer. I'm not sure if all of the beds are like that, but if mattress softness is a factor in your hotel choice, it may be worth a call to the hotel before booking.

Clean, with comfy beds and friendly staff. It would be nice if the hotel provided tea and coffee making facilities in their rooms and didn't make guests pay for accessing the sauna and spa given they've already paid for their rooms.

Very good value for the price. The location is perfect, right in front of the sea and 3 mins walk from the city center. The buffet breakfast has a great variety and the terrace restaurant is top quality. The views from the terrace are breathtaking and overall the service is good

Very nice hotel in the heart and soul of everything. Great access to the beach and a lot of food options. The terrace closes at 5pm which sucks because there is a great view from there. Hotel staff are friendly and helpful. Only bad thing is parking there is absolutely no where to park at unless you want to pay 45€ in the garage for one day

Friendly staff, clean rooms. Outside is a little run down but the insides are just fine. Right on the water so you get some great views if your room is facing it. Good breakfast options but doesn't change day to day. The lobby bar closes at 11pm which was a bit early.

This is a pretty good hotel though it could be better. I like the rooms ( I had a suite ), but for starters, why is it on top of a restaurant? Second of all, the breakfast had very few choices. And final of all, why is the pool on the roof. Me and my children really wanted to go for a swim, but it was never open. Because of this, I spend most of the time outside the hotel. I only go here for 2 days or under on the weekends.Otherwise it is not so bad at all! Could be better.

We found this hotel on our Honeymoon while looking for Sheraton hotels in the area. The hotel is very nice (although a little dated). We had an Oceanview room that looked out onto the beach on the top floor which was very nice. The room wasn't huge, but it was bigger than a traditional European room. They have a nice rooftop pool and restaurant as well where you can get good food and drinks.

Unfortunately there is no free beach access but they do partner with one of the places across the street. It's also an easy walk to to get to Old Town.

We stayed 2 nights over the week end.
The location is probably the best quality of the hotel, literally across the road from the beach and within 10 minutes walk to the old town.
Now the painful bit: the room was quite basic to say the least, the bath tub could definitely do with some maintenance as it had enamel chipping away by the bucket.
The carpet in the room and the corridors was visibly stained.
The bed a bit on the small side, but this could help the romance I guess...
The corridors are definitely in need of redoing.
Don't expect a water kettle in the room as you won't get one.
All things one could put up with but seen the price tag I was sincerely expecting more.
The roof terrace restaurantand pool are a nice bonus.
Staff were helpful.

The hotel is in an extremely busy part of town, which may be great for some but not those looking for a calming experience in the French Riviera - think South Beach in Miami instead. The hotel entrance feels like a shopping mall with tons of people going up and down escalators. The rooms are decent but hallways seem a little rundown. Staff is friendly. The rooftop pool is a joke - don't trust the hotel's pictures. We love Starwood hotels but won't be staying here again.

While I didn't stay in the hotel, I was fortunate to attend an event on their rooftop bar and restaurant, La Terrasse, which is now a favorite of mine in Nice. Great views overlooking part of the city as well as the water, great food, drinks and music. The etched metal doors on the elevators leading up to the terrace are very beautiful and quite unique. Enjoy!

A hotel feels a bit worn, but nothing that would impede on the overall experience, which was absolutely great. The sea and city views from the terrace were spectacular. The room and bathroom was spacious and very light, with floor-to-ceiling glass walls, looking out onto sea.

The staff was particularly helpful and efficient, professionally handling our custom requests for breakfast, lat checkout, etc.

The roof-top pool is good, however no place to hang out around it. Not a huge problem with big terrace that comes with the room, but still cumbersome to go back and forth between your room and the pool.

I was hesitant staying here when first reading some of the reviews, but really glad I decided to stay here. The views from this hotel are just absolutely amazing. Staff were friendly and helpful, including the front desk staff. Breakfast is decent, and staff there very attentive and helpful. Great location. Rooms are on the smaller side, which I don't mind, but the balcony is big enough to throw a party on. Two thumbs up.

Did I not give a review last December when I stayed at this hotel for one week? I should have. The furnishings and walls of my room were tattered and banged-up. This hotel charges enough to keep up its appearance. That said, the view from my room was fabulous. So you choose: a banged-up room with a view, or something else.

The decor is nice but the service in the Cafe was a bit disappointing - waitress came after 10 minutes and the coffee was cold and the cup was stained. Not what you would expect from such a location. Everything else was great - nice ambiance, great views and good location for a business meeting.

The standard rooms are below expectation for quality of finished, and almost all of them face an interior courtyard (no view!).

We upgraded to a suite with beach views, which was wonderful, but there is a huge disparity between the basic and upgraded rooms.

Upper-tier rooms are worthy of a 4-star rating, but the standard rooms are more like 2.5-stars.

Great location.

Extremely disappointed with our stay in this supposedly 4 star hotel. We arrived along with numerous other guests from a scenic river cruise. Almost everybody else seemed to have a similar opinion. We arrived to our room to be greeted by a foul odour in the corridor which became far worse upon opening the door. An initial complaint was made at reception and which was promptly ignored. Two more complaints still brought no result.Eventually someone arrived at the room and agreed that the smell was unacceptable and it was not suitable for occupation. It took for me to again go to reception and create a scene in public in order to get another room. The problem seems to be a dreadful lack of management and lack of cmmitted staff.A manager was never available to deal with problems experienced also by others in our group.Hotel is seriously in need of improvement of amenities and managerial expertise.Spg, you should be ashamed of this ghetto.

Rooms are nice, but service is French. The hotel is located across from the beach and near the old town which is nice for easy walks to lots of shopping and eating. For what you're paying, service is pretty lackluster especially by American standards. There's very little preference given to SPG GOLD/PLATINUM members, no coffee makers, air conditioning worked most of the time and there were two English language channels on the TV which was nice. We were told we were "upgraded to a city view" since we are Gold which really means you look at the building sitting 20 feet next door. We also asked for a late check out due to a 7pm flight and after asking four times someone finally said we could check out at 2pm versus the normal 12pm. Geee...thanks. Despite all those details, the hotel is fine and has a cocktail bar and restaurant on the roof with a nice view. I will likely not stay here again.

Location is excellent, as is the terrace bar. Attention to detail to decoration not what it should be; tired and dated sometimes shabby and not in a chic way.

So, when we arrived, it all looked promising indeed. We checked in at the reception and went to our respective rooms. There was a party of 4 of us, 2 girls in each room.
We dumped our bags off and headed straight to the terrace to get some breakfast and to take in the stunning views.
I think that the breakfast menu is somewhat limited, I ended up just having some sparkling water and a coffee. My friend had the fruit bowl, which, for nearly 20 Euros, was very disappointing to be quite frank.
We had lunch there as well and I went for the burger, which was quite good to be fair.
So, the corridor seems like it was painted in the 90s with matt lilac emulsion and looked tired and grubby and the carpets could have had a blinking good clean too!
In my room, when you looked a bit closer, they were dents and scrapes all over, mastic in the bathroom needed doing and the tiles bleaching. I was nearly driven mad by the TV channels that they have to chose from!
The air con was good, and the beds were comfy and clean.
My friends room, the air con wasn't great at all, and considering they were upgraded as one of the girls is a preferred guest, the room was tired and not what you would pay that particular room rate for.
The "Spa" is basic and the same as a nail shop with a massage room that you would find on the high street. Lovely ladies working in their, but cheap fittings, messy, dusty, overcrowded and so on.
I don't think I would go back unless I got a really good room rate to be honest.

The rooms are fairly small for the price, but the views from rooms with a terrace facing the sea or partial sea with city are amazing. Waking up to that view every day made you feel part of the city and we will never forget that. The rooftop bar is also a great place to relax (as long as you have a hair tie, ladies) and soak in the beautiful weather.

I'll start by saying this: we loved the location of this hotel. Right at the promenade, it was within walking distance to the old town, restaurants, etc. And right at the beach!

The hotel itself is nice. It looks like they just refurbished the place and we had a pretty good deal via Starwood for a suite, which means our view overlooks the riviera and it was an amazing view.

Facilities in the room we had was quite amazing. Beautiful views from the bedroom to the bathroom and a terrace that runs the whole length of the room.

The bathroom in our suite was one of the nicest I've seen.

We had room service quite often and the service was very prompt and fast.

The front desk personnel was extremely helpful and helped arrange for a tour of the French Riviera which turn out to be very good and we had a fantastic time.

The one thing to note is that our room was on the second top floor (the top floor had an amazing pool!), there's a restaurant is on the top floor and during service, noise do creep into the room, even with all the doors closed.

The hotel do have a modern feel to it which might not be for those looking for a more rustic home feel that other accommodations in the area might offer. Plus, we stayed in a suite so am not sure about the standard room. We would not be surprised if some might consider this at a more pricier range.

But ultimately, we like the central location that felt like we were in the centre of action. And there was a great view and we preferred the modern feel as well.

This hotel has the perfect location, right by the beach and walking distance to the main parts of Nice.

The only weird thing is the entrance, there is a McDonald's on the ground floor and you go up one floor to the lobby.. the fast food just seems out of place.

I got an upgraded room with a ocean view, the staff was friendly, the included breakfast was great! They cleaned the rooms well, although I had to call one day because it was almost 4pm and they hadn't come.

Overall a great choice if you are an SPG fan, there were a few other hotels near this one, so plenty of options in this area.

Best hotel experience of mine. I stayed in the top floor corner room with balcony (I think it's their most expensive room) so they may have treated me a little better. Great location, awesome view, modern room design with big windows and I love the shower! Will definitely stay their again if I can (and have the money). I originally booked a standard room but they persuaded me to upgrade and gave me a discount. After all I paid about 800 EUR for one night but absolutely no regret!

Amazing location and great hotel dont listen to naysayers!

My wife and I have traveled a great deal and are loyal SPG platinum. . .so must admit after reading the internet reviews had some trepidation as there were some negative reviews regarding not honoring SPG status and service etc...well I am happy to report it was much ado about nothing! (My friend stayed at nearby hotel which is ranked in 20th place approx and it was a dump and the staff not helpful and he had a problem with some service related issues so I think this place isnt bad at all but rather great place to stay)
The service and location were phenomenal .. . .to circumvent the lack of SPG recognition as I usually get upgrades complementary and I was staying in Nice for a conference with my wife I didnt want to leave anything to chance I used my SPG suite rewards and was pleasantly surprised that I got a Panoramic Junior Suite Sea View on highest floor/corner room room 926 (going rate I believe 603-1200 Euros a night)! The service also was impeccable and you can't beat the location on the famous Promenade des Anglais.
Pros: Beautiful location/oceanfront. Great service especially at breakfast and check-in. When we called for something the staff was prompt and helpful! Breakfast included as SPG perk which had varied types of food to satisfy all types. The manager Pablo Bandala left us a nice letter upon arrival and we received plenty of SPG acknowledgement. The rooftop terrace is great place for drink and taking in ambiance.
Cons: Yes the hotel and hallways are in need of renovation but not "run down " as others have stated (but you arent going to sleep in hallways) but our room was wonderful and beds comfortable and neatly appointed.
The AC system needs to be renovated as it was confusing and you couldnt set a set temp so it was warmer than we wanted hence the complaints from other people
Verdict: would stay here without reservations.
