Beautiful hotel. I loved the decor, it was unlike any other Pittsburgh hotel. Missed out on a lot of amenities due to the new coronavirus protocols. Bathrobes are provided amongst request. The soaking Roman tub was EVERYTHING!! absolutely amazing! The bed was extremely comfortable. I enjoyed that you’re able to order room service from the commoner and paid movies in your room. We watched the invisible man. They weren’t offering valet when we were there so we had to park in a public garage that was right around the corner. Flat rate of 6 dollars a day. Would recommend and stay again!

Modern yet personable and extremely pet friendly, they had a complimentary pet bed and pet bowl, I think my dog slept better than me! :) I was very pleased and left satisfied and happy, thank you for a great stay.

I booked this hotel for a short romantic getaway for Valentine’s Day. Once I arrived we were told that our room had been upgraded from a regular king suite to the Emperor suite! Imagine my excitement! We missed the wine hour but were offered a complimentary glass. Once we arrived at the room we found a small plate of chocolate covered strawberries and a iced bottle of Champagne. The room was amazing! The staff was very welcoming. We truly enjoyed our stay. Also the if you don’t mind walking a short distance you can park at a nearby garage on evenings and weekends for a flat rate of 6$. Very doable walk with minimal luggage. There are plenty of great restaurants within short walking distance.

Common areas in the hotel was awesome and fun. There was a happy each evening at 5 or 6. I don't recall. But it was very nice.
The rooms were very comfortable and chic. We chose the Kimpton because they go the extra mile that not all hotels can do or train their employees to do. They have the best customer service that I've seen in a hotel. What's more is the valet parking was a breeze. Matt from customer services helped us out with our luggage, brought it up to our room and even recommended some amazing coffee spots for craft coffee. Matt was like a jack of all trades and is definitely a huge asset for the Kimpton team in Pittsburgh. If and when we head back to Pittsburgh we will have this hotel as our #1 choice!!

This hotel is beautiful. We are here for a wedding weekend and so far everything is looking great. The rooms have a unique design style and they definitely have personality. The bathroom does not have an intake fan, but that's just my observation. The bathroom door doesn't have a lock but the fancy barn style door is very heavy so it won't randomly slide open. The Commoner is an awesome restaurant. The food is delicious (fried chicken sandwich for lunch is a must!) Great drinks too. The hotel has a daily happy hour with free wines and a few other forms of alcohol too, so that is a bonus. There is also a rooftop Biergarten with beers and foods which looked mighty tasty.

We recently hosted a company event at the Hotel Monaco in Pittsburgh. From beginning to end, the staff was incredible. We ended up having more guests than we anticipated and the on site event coordinator handled the evening calmly and efficiently- we were so thankful! Not only is the hotel beautiful, but everyone from the receptionist to the wait staff to the event coordinator was so wonderful to work with! Would certainly recommend having your event here!

Fun, cool, great restaurant in the basement, cool rooftop bar, lounge with games. Inexplicable (but cool) birdcage theme. Near downtown locations and the ballpark. Fancier, more expensive hotels surround it. Stroll down "strawberry lane" alley nearby to the shops. Park across the way has a fountain. They treated us well, good concierge and n bellhop, and Über confess quickly.

Lovely place for an event. The entrance foyer was a perfect place to set the stage for taking formal pictures. The main room was well laid out with food to one side, with plenty of places for people to sit and relax. The dance floor was separate from the food and seating area, making it easy to converse and strike up conversations with people. There was just enough of an archway to be able to catch a glimpse of the dance floor to figure out whether you wanted to get up on it.

Be thankful that the drinks are so overpriced you could start a retirement account just by not buying one. I think I fully funded my IRA just by not drinking that night.

You can use valet service. Or you can have the choice of ample parking close by.

This establishment seems comfortable with Black people.

This hotel is running on all cylinders. I had a dog but rather than charge me they gave her a treat (I did have to sign a release). Why was that so easy? That is why I like this Kimpton. The staff were very pleasant and accommodating even petting my pouch. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Not much to complain about.

This is an awesome hotel in general. Comfortable bed with Frette sheets great for sleeping and the design of the room is interesting. The only drawback is it seems like the body lotion bottle in our room had been used as it run out so quickly. Hope the housekeeping can pay more attention to details next time.

Our bellman Matt was delightful, check in was easy and informative. They were helpful with all questions. The restaurant downstairs we went to before closing to order dessert, they were out of most items, one was good and one was not that great. Then on to late night room service, ordered the Turkey and Roast beef lunch meat sandwich, menu stated cheese bacon lettuce and tomato, once we received it an hour later, it was literally 2 slices of Turkey on bread? Called asked if they can remake correctly, still waiting 45 additional minutes....The room was spacious, but has a funky odor I cant describe. Overall it was average for a higher end hotel. Round two with the room service, they remade the sandwiches and left off the cheese now, I just have to laugh and brush it off.

Excellent in all areas, I would highly recommend this hotel for business or pleasure. My room was not only unique and beautifully decorated, it was created thoughtfully with plenty of plugins and various types of lighting. It included a lovely full length mirror, two robes and of course the top notch service of the Kimpton brand. We held a two day meeting with CEO types and never had a complaint. The front desk staff, the meeting planners, and the F&B staff were all wonderful. The restaurant, "The Commoner" was really good as well! Triple gold star!

This is an awesome hotel for business and personal travelers alike. The rooms are very neat and cozy and the decor is very stylish and elaborate. I especially liked the chandelier in a birdcage that provided the mail source of light for the room. Located in the heart of downtown Pittsburgh, this hotel is only a short walk away from many local attractions.

This was our first trip to Pittsburgh and we were looking for a comfortable hotel as a base for our weekend. The Kimpton Hotel Monaco exceeded our expectations in every way. The staff was extremely helpful and welcoming, especially Dwayne at the front desk at Miesha. The room was phenomenal and being in the cultural district had a wonderful charm to it. We had a pleasant surprise upon checking in of being directed to their complimentary happy hour which was a wonderful way to start our evening and socialize with other guests. The restaurant in the hotel, The Commoner, had great food and we would highly recommend trying one of their craft cocktails. While the price was slightly higher than we would normally spend on a hotel, it was well worth it and we will definitely be staying here our next trip to Pittsburgh.

This is an AWESOME hotel in every way. The rooms are extremely comfortable and feel luxurious no matter the size (I've been in everything from the suites to the corner spa rooms and basic rooms and all are fabulous).

The gym is perfectly adequate and comfortable with plenty of water and towels (though sometimes the treadmills are in overly high demand).

The shared common spaces, such as the lobby and mezzanine sitting room are beautifully appointed and decorated.

Most importantly, the staff is STELLAR. I had a group of VIP clients stay here and the staff graciously and patiently stepped up to every single demand we made (and there were many). I will be recommending this hotel to absolutely every client I have who is headed to Pittsburgh.

The rooms were modern and beautifully furnished. The staff was friendly and helpful, and provided a whole host of amenities. A friend forgot their iPhone charger and they brought one up to the room. We didn't do the valet parking, but found a parking garage a block over that was $8 every 12 hours ($16 max). There was also a complimentary cocktail hour with red and white wine varieties and a local beer selection. There were some nice places to have breakfast around, but you might want to drive (or Uber) for most dinner options.

Overall enjoyed my stay at the Kimpton. Rooms were checked and cleaned every day, employees were courteous and always opened the door for me when leaving/exiting. Also enjoyed food at the restaurant, The Commoner. Highly recommend the Roasted Cauliflower, Chicken, and Toffee pudding. Cauliflower was fried with hummus and spicy sauce, excellent. Chicken was very tender and huuuge. Toffee pudding was more like a brownie with vanilla ice cream and caramel. Good overall. If the Toffee is too heavy, the Hummingbird dessert was good too, flower they place on your plate is edible too!

Staff was incredibly kind and eager to help! The ambiance was a rather unique but welcome one. They offered a great (free) happy hour of wine and local beer, and in the morning had a tea and coffee bar set up for guests too.

VERY lovely place! It was hard to get a hold of the front desk prior to our arrival, the person we spoke to on the phone was not the front desk and therefore the requests we had made were not received even though we were assured they would be. HOWEVER the staff was very on top of everything thereafter! Excellent service

Very nice hotel, have stayed there previously. But they won't budge on refunds. My flight was cancelled due to weather, and couldn't get to Pittsburgh (9 hours from hotel check-in). Even after sending them the cancellation notice from the airline, they still wouldn't refund the cost I pre-paid. I understand there are policies, but fair warning to those choosing this hotel. Our company and employees won't be staying here again.

Great service. Very helpful staff. The valet was great and very timely. We received complimentary wine as we checked in. Check-in went smoothly and the room was very modern and clean. Great walk in shower. The soaps, conditioners and lotions were very nice. We found the location very central to everything we wanted to do. William Penn can be a bit busy and very slow to drive down at certain hours of the day.

Kimpton is a boutique hotel that offers interesting interior decorated rooms. Service is great. I love the "living room" on the first floor with coffee and tea in the morning. You can also write a postcard and the hotel will mail it for you for free.... even internationally. That was pretty neat. I stayed in a king bed room. The size was good and the bed was comfortable. The only thing I don't like is the outrageous price for a bottle of water in the hotel room.... $7 for a normal bottle of water when some other hotel gives you two each day for free.... thank God that convenient store is within couple blocks and Starbucks is next door. Overall, it was a good stay.

Absolutely lovey hotel. Beautiful decor throughout. The hotel is right next to an underground parking garage that makes it super easy to tavel around. The room, a corner suite, was exquisite. The tub and shower were amazing. Several different soaps and shampoos were already provided. The bed was very comfortable, and we slept like logs. Location is perfect to explore downown and the surrounding area. We're definitely staying here again when we return to Pittsburgh

Fantastic, cozy, ultra-kitschy hotel in the heart of downtown. The location isn't the closest to any of the must-see sights or attractions, but it's a great place for a weekend getaway, and only a short walk to the cultural district and convention center.

Parking is valet only, and can be slow during peak hours, so plan ahead.

If you have the time, the restaurant in the basement (The Commoner) is a restored speakeasy, with fantastic cocktails and a terrific brunch menu.

Overall, a great experience!

This hotel was very nice. It was very clean all around, and there was plenty of space to lounge inside the hotel. The restaurant was a bit pricy. The rooms were very nicely decorated full of color and it had a very relaxing feel to it. Located right in the heart of Pittsburgh, you can walk anywhere. We stayed and walked to Heinz field. The parking lot around the corner is very close so definitely park there if you want to save money.

One of the better hotel experiences I've had in a while. Stylish, clean, a professional-but-still-fun vibe, excellent staff, an award winning restaurant and cocktail program. I stayed here with a work retreat a couple weeks ago. Overall I had a really wonderful time, the rooms are well appointed in a funky/classic meets modern style, the staff courteous, and the service for the two meals they catered for the all day meeting that we held in the ball room was really good. I loved meeting other guests during the wine hour in the evening, and the location can't be beat. The rooftop Biergarten is small but cool space, the view wasn't be best, since the building is shorter than those around it, but the weather was great and we had a great time. I even spied rooftop garden beds just over the railing (I hope those belong to the Monaco too, so cool!)

The only disappointment was that my boyfriend accidentally left a significant amount of cash in my car after dinner the last night and it wasn't there when the valet returned it the next day. I reported a very precise timeline to the valet manager who said he would file a report but we never heard back.

(FYI people: valets at most places are an independent company from the hotel/business so there is little that can often be done if something goes missing. It's a really good idea to just never leave valuables in your car no matter what.)

Kimpton is a great chain any way you look at it. You can comfortably book a room in any of their hotels without hesitation. Location in heart of downtown and in walking distance of many eateries. Parking is very near especially the one under a park. Decor is modern, funky, colorful and comfortable. The 5-6 pm happy hour each day is excellent for meeting other people. Great way to start the evening. People are willing to share where to go for a night out. The open air biergarten is fun and has nice views. Tasty appetizers and good value on drinks. Rooms are comfortable with modern decor spacious shower soft robes. Definitely worth the premium prices paid the room.

Didn't stay as an overnight guest but, was there for a wedding and the hotel was very nice. Very nice lobby upon entry and cool upper common area with different style couches, chairs, and fireplaces. I like to think I use 5-star ratings very sparingly, but my experience here with my fiance for her birthday was exceptional.

The Monaco has a great rooftop bar with games and heaters for any chilly night. The rooms and lobby are decorated with the same artistic flare my Fiance and I enjoyed seeing throughout the city. The downstairs bar had the best drink and appetizer we've ever had, and they also give complimentary beer, wine, and some snacks from 5pm-6pm.

Beyond the standard amenities mentioned above, the hotel took every opportunity to exceed our expectations and make us feel special. From the moment we entered the lobby Marissa Hozella, the Guest Services Manager, greeted us with with kindness and smiles. We found hand-written notes and surprise gifts in our room for my Fiance's birthday and our engagement, and we received great recommendations at the lobby from her. She really made our stay over the top, and we will be partial to Monaco in the future because of her!

Current hotel management is doing a great job of attracting and training the right staff.

My friends and I came here after a wedding ceremony to kill time before the reception. We went to the rooftop bar and had a beer/cider/wine. It was a great view and the drinks were delicious. We had a wonderful stay this past weekend. The hotel staff were all extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and seemed genuinely interested in making sure we were fully taken care of. They made sure our dog, Dixie, was treated like a queen too! The only "complaint" would be the cost of the restaurant in the hotel, but that is to be expected at any hotel. We will definitely stay here again next time we are in town.

Nicely appointed and clean. Good service at the desk. Unfortunately lots of trouble with hotel staff. Bought us two broken cribs. Needed to ask for everything twice. I would highly recommend this hotel, especially for those travelling with a dog. The staff went out of their way to be kind to my dog, Daisy. I was so impressed with the welcoming and relaxed attitude of being able to have my dog with me on this trip.
The rooms were extremely clean, spacious and fun! We loved eating at the Commoner and our Saturday night wine welcome was lovely! I would highly recommend staying at this hotel and look forward to staying at more Kimpton locations!
The front desk reception and doormen were 10 out of 10!

Unimpressed overall and probably wouldn't recommend. Credit card was charged twice due to booking through a third party. Stayed in a deluxe king and felt there could've been more seating in the room. Plenty of wall space for a sofa. Walls were thin - could hear every word of the conversation next door. Wasn't asked how the stay was when checking out. Restaurant was a bit overpriced but the food and drinks were tasty. Staff was pleasant. Bathroom was nice. The free happy hour almost made up for the shortcomings.

The best and most unique hotel I've ever stayed in. My girlfriend and I stayed in a king room. The hotel employees were extremely friendly and accommodating (can't stress this enough, you just don't see this level of service and attention to detail these days). The hotel offers a complimentary beer and wine happy hour from 5-6pm every day (yes for free!! Awesome!). The room was very clean and the finishes in the room were very Up scale. The bathroom was extremely well maintained, clean, with luxurious bathroom amenities. The bed was comfortable (very firm mattress). The restaurant below the lobby was luxurious and up scale. Drinks were expensive but worth it. We liked the hotel so much we extended our stay another day! It's also worth noting that they let any dogs stay for no additional charge, no weight or breed restrictions! Can't wait to come back and check out the roof top beer garden when it's nice out!! Would DEFINITELY recommend this hotel to anyone of any age!

I visited the church brew works for a casual business dinner. The beer was great and the food was delicious. The venue was fabulous- a real talking point. It reminded e of a German beer hall. I would highly recommend adding it to your itinerary.

This is a great boutique hotel. The service is great. The decor is unusual, but not off-putting. The rooms are nice and spacious. The bed is comfortable. The fitness center is a little bigger than a normal hotel, but it's not filled with a lot of extra equipment. There is just more space. There is turn-down service each night.

Gorgeous hotel in a great location in downtown Pitt. We were upgraded to an awesome suite. Kimpton is the best hotel chain. Stays are personalized and little surprises await you in your room at check in. The best part is that they are dog friendly - no fees, no size restrictions. This particular hotel was super walkable to many bars and restaurants. Will be back next time I'm in Pitt.

Great hotel with lots of amenities. The restaurant is fantastic and the wine hour is a nice touch. If you are looking for a place that's a bit quirky but quality then this place is great.

As is typical of Kimpton hotels, the customer service here is incredible. The rooms are very comfortable and cozy with excellent, quirky decor. Fantastic hotel for the money in Pittsburgh.

Very nice hotel. Restaurant had some good choices and great service. Was there for a party and the service at the party was excellent! Only down side was parking.

Visited the Monaco Pittsburgh for a conference and didn't see much of the space. What I saw however, was quite majestic. The conference was well laid out and effectively catered, which I'm sure was thanks to the Monaco staff. I'm certain the ballroom space would work nicely as a wedding venue. Might look elsewhere for catering (food), but perhaps the conference only paid for a cheap package. Research would need to be done.

I love this property...atmosphere is unlike anything else in Pittsburgh. The reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because I think their amenities are seriously lacking...especially for the price tag. At Fairmont, they have a "whatever the guest wants" mentality, and it's hard to beat. I called at 4:30 to schedule a massage that evening. Because it was "last minute" (I had just checked in at 3...?) they only had an abbreviated massage available at 9:30pm and I had to pay an EXTRA 25 bucks because it was "after hours". I'm paying $400 a night...a massage shouldn't be this difficult. Also...there is no spa. They only offer massages and they are in-room.

I called down for my car, and they told me it'll be ready in 30 minutes. Last visit, I was sitting out front for a while waiting for my car, and after asking I was told that "they were working on it". Ten minutes later, I look down the street and see my car parked on the curb! I look on the valet stand and my keys are sitting right there! No one was getting my car! I took my keys and got my car myself....but was still charged for valet!

I feel like we've been getting nickle and dimed and have been told "no" way more than we should be at this caliber of a hotel.

Great experience staying here the other week. I would recommend this hotel to anyone that needs a place to stay in downtown Pittsburgh. The staff was so sweet and always one step ahead. You could tell they enjoy working there! I'm very impressed and will definitely be coming back :)

We just had a wonderful night in this eclectic stylish hotel. Rooms were very clean and bed was cozy. Had x3 in room massages that were fabulous. Had a rude encounter w the hotel valet because we parked 20 feet from the front door in the pouring rain to retrieve our luggage from the lobby. He said the area was for valet only and mumbled under his breath. This hotel has one main entrance...i asked where we should have parked and he had no answer but mumbled to the other valet instead of answering me. There was only 1 other car on the street. Rude to guests who dont use the valet.

Beautiful hotel. Went for a professional event. The girl who kept bringing the food in the room was a little awkward and seemed like she didn't know what she was doing/inappropriate timing, but maybe she was new. Overall, it was pleasant, and visually a 10/10. Rooms were clean and gorgeous, food was great, service was nice.

This is a beautiful hotel with a neat modern/antique decore throughout. I felt like I was being pampered! Definitely an upscale place.Parking could either be Valley or a convenient cheap parking garage in the next block. Only minor thing was in the shower there is no sliding door built in, so the floor got really slippery with water. But, such a nice place! I'd definitely come again!

The rooms were really nice. They had great room service. The beds were really comfortable. Very spacious. A little over done on pillows. Some of the decor is a little weird but still nice.

Clean modern rooms with a friendly staff. The hotel is conveniently located and has a pretty good bar/restaurant located on the lower level. Although for some reason the price of the same glass of scotch rose by $5 from afternoon to night.

Rooms are pretty sweet, as is the lobby and common area. Staff was helpful. It's a bus hotel, so if you want a quiet romantic getaway, you might want to look elsewhere. But if you want to mix it up in the heart of Pittsburgh, you'd be hard pressed to find a better place.

If you are planning to have dinner, make reservations. They do save a few spots at the bar for hotel guests, but if you want a table, you'll need to plan ahead.

Hotel is well within walking distance to ballparks and downtown venues.

Favorite part was that our housekeeper left us a personal note each day.

The hotel is located in downtown, near everything. Convenient valet parking (although you can use public parking lot on the corner below the park, 5 dlls overnight during weekend, cheap and safe).
The room was so nicely decorated. Although the shower needs a door, but everything else in the room was perfect. Room service was on point; food and staff were so nice. Highly recommend this hotel in your next trip to Pittsburgh. Biergarten? Bar on the rooftop of the hotel with excellent view and awesome beer.

So far not as good as I expected. We arrived and asked the valet attendant about the prices for valet and let him know that we were hotel guest. We got some clarification. Despite the steep $35 a night valet cost we decided go ahead and do it. The valet attendant did not open the door for myself or my wife. We were not immediately asked if we had bags. We had to mention it ourselves. One attendant asked if we needed a cart, disappeared and did not come back. We waited a minute or two. Meanwhile the luggage cart was in plain sight inside the doorway empty. Another attendant saw us and asked if we needed a cart the second time and walked right in a got the cart I was looking at. Not the best first impression after driving from Detroit for a mini-honeymoon.

We entered the lobby and checked-in without much of an issue. The lobby is awesome with a cool style. Not too over the top (for my tastes at least). We got to our room and since we forgot some things they were able to bring them up. It took a couple calls for them to pick, but they may have had a rush of check-ins at the front desk. We asked for a cork-screw which was in the mini-bar that is locked by a physical key. We didn't get the key when we checked in. They brought us a key and it didn't work. Someone came up and they tried and when our key didn't work they used there key and it worked. Response times were great.

The rooms are awesome and very clean. They don't have an outdated iPod dock that most hotels have. They have a Jawbone Mini Jambox. My wife and I love the room, but so far on night one of 2, I don't feel like I am getting what we paid for from a 4-star hotel from a service perspective. Everyone was pleasant, but if I'm paying $35 a night to valet at the very least, open my wife's door.
