Clean and quiet and shower was great as well as bed. Staff amazing. Came with truck and bike in bed and they parked me in front valet ($26) and kept an eye on it all night. I did not even feel like I had to lock it. Garage next door can park up to 6'10" and there is outdoor parking also. Pets are free and welcomed here also.

This hotel is just simply wonderful. The location is great and the staff is friendly to the point that after one night there I felt as if I had made new friends. They are respectful of Covid-19 precautions and quick to respond when a request is made (ice, bellman, etc.). I travel with a large dog and it can be difficult to find somewhere that will accept him but this property didn't bat an eye and was welcoming from the moment I drove up. I've already booked my next stay here.

The suite was nice, but WAY small. And a room divider vs a wall wasn’t what I expected. The restaurant, however, was amazing! As was the little evening “social hour.” It did take forever to check in & the parking is expensive, but knowing my ginormous dogs can stay with me for free is priceless!

Room was very nice and clean. Our bed was comfortable. We ordered room service for breakfast and got French toast and cold smoked salmon and bagels. They were delicious. We'd definitely go back again! Staff was friendly too.

great hotel for the price! it's in a great location! keys on main is just around the corner and there are a ton of great restaurants near by! I would consider this place if you're visiting for a few days and want to be in the city!

They also allow dogs in the hotel and they always have some water bowls at the front with a sign of all the doggies at the hotel! its super cute!

water and apples are available to the guests for free in the lobby. They also have a great restaurant inside the hotel that has breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner. the food has never been disappointing and their brunches are fantastic!

there is valet $24 + tip and a self parking garage that charges $20 a night. there is a lot of parking nearby as well that is slightly cheaper.

only con: there little mini bar (no alcohol, just snacks) costs a fortune and they are asking $8 for just a bottle of water. their baggies of snacks start at $5 and they are super small! they offer items that you may have forgotten (toothbrush, deodorant, combs) but those are also highly priced. they do have soaps that are fancy in the bathroom and they offer those for purchase which is unique!

Super pet friendly! Room had water and food bowl provided for our doggo along with a nice pet bed for him as well. Staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms were beautiful and architecture was truly stunning. The bar on the 1st floor was cozy and food was delicious.

Loved the hotel. Water pressure A plus and nice hot.
Cool air in our room was more than adequate but impressive for older building.
Enough plugs for our phones and scooters. Both handicap, wife and I. And the hotel took that in consideration and we thank you.
The way the lobby is warm and inviting. Very well ran so far.

We had a great stay. Everything was clean and soft, and felt luxurious. There was a complementary iced tea and lemonade bar in the lobby, which was a nice touch. We didn't buy any of the crazy expensive snacks or drinks in the hotel room. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was bright and clean and spacious enough for two to get ready at once. The decor was beautiful. The staff was friendly and helpful. It was close enough to walk to City Creek Mall, the Eccles theater, and Temple Square. Would definitely recommend.

I have stayed twice at this hotel. The first time was excellent. Great service (the staff had set up refreshments for an anniversary. The room was light and airy. This time was nice but not as good. The room seemed a little more dim. However you will not get a better bed elsewhere. It's so relaxing and comfortable. The bathrooms are gorgeous with luxurious amenities. A great place to stay in Salt Lake for any reason. Also very dog friendly.

A beautiful older building in downtown Salt Lake City. An old bank and office building converted to a hotel. And very nice. Funny tho', we walked into our room and 5'2" Sandy noticed that she could barely reach the sink. She asked if it was designed for Labron James..... actually it kinda was. Being such a nice hotel, and close to the local NBA arena, the entire floor was designed to accommodate professional basketball players. We got a laugh out of that.

Fun place to stay, I wish we'd been able to be here longer. On a drive from Albuquerque to Seattle we stopped here overnight. Valet parking was nice, being able to bring the dog was nice, the room was great. We brought in our own dinner (Mellow Mushroom) and the hotel was able to provide silverware and napkins and glasses of water which was handy. We had a large corner room with views of the SLC Olympic torch which was cool. We slept well and had soothing showers (the bathroom was cramped compared to the huge room). There was a good place to walk the dog just down the street at the convention center. Overall it was a very pleasant stay and I hope we can come back again soon.

The hotel is very nice. We didn't dine in the restaurant, but it looks like a nice place for a meal or just to get drinks. The lobby is spacious and cozy with some board games to play (Jenga or Scrabble at least). Valet parking only which is still about the same cost as the pay yourself parking next door. The check in desk was very nice. Car retrieval was simple. The rooms are very nice, though the bathroom is a little small and more standard than the rest of the room. The hotel is conveniently located downtown within walking distance of so much including an upscale mall and the Mormon Temple. Would recommend staying here highly.

7

The room was really nice. It was a spa King suite and we really loved it, except there was an adjoining door to the room... Who has an adjoining door on the top of the line suite in their hotel?! The guests next door and across the hall were extremely noisy at 7 am and the doors and walls were REALLY NOT NOISE PROOF! Also pretty sure someone was smoking weed in a nearby room because we got a big wiff of it for about an hour in the evening and another hour at about 9:45 the next morning. Not great. Also the valet parking took 25 minutes to pull our car up in the morning. So for those reasons, 4 stars. If those things would have been different, 5. Great historic property, great location, beautiful room and concierge service.

In the heart of Downtown Salt Lake City, this hotel is a little gem with gorgeous rooms and views. Easy walking access to many places like the Capitol, the Arts center, the Hamilton Musical, etc... If driving, keep in mind that valet parking is a on high end and be prepared to pay $$. Courteous staff. Stayed in a one bedroom suite and loved the extra space 😊

Friendly staff and nice room. A little pricey for the accommodations, but you can't beat the location for downtown activities. We walked everywhere. The bed was comfy, but it was loud outside til the wee hours of the morning. It was a pet friendly room with a dog bed and kitty litter box which is nice if your have pets, but a little weird if you don't. Super clean though, no hair.

The hotel is nice. If you are traveling solo then you will be pleasantly satisfied. The bar is nice and Kaycee is fantastic. If you are wanting to be in the heart of SLC then the location is unbeatable.
But the rooms are tiny (so so tiny-barely fits a queen bed and bathroom)! The bathtub took forever to fill. There is not hot tub or pool. So if you need space and a pool/hot tub to relax and play I would not recommend this hotel. Not ideal for a family of for friends.

Nice (maybe a bit small) rooms. Fantastic location. Happy hour (free beer, wine) daily. Parking is cheap. Good base if you are traveling to different hills every day or someone in the party doesn't ski. Not too expensive.

This place has always been one of my favorite buildings. I love the castle gray bricks and the peculiar tall and skinny shape. It is beautiful inside. Upscale without overdoing it or going for the wealthy blind grandma look, like the Grand America. It is just enough; not more than you need, but everything you want.

Cannot say enough about how much I LOVE this hotel! It's gorgeous! Staff is super friendly towards guest, children and pets. They welcome pets free people! They have welcome signs for the pets that come in. They let our 5 Year old pick a toy. They bring wine for free to your room or movie box treat and free movie rental of you have a child. The restaurant in great below on the first floor. We stay here for nights away or for comicon even though we live 20 min away. We LOVE this hotel. Make sure to sign up for their karma rewards that gets you free items and deals. If you live in Utah call and they give you a local deal. I cannot say enough about this hotel!!!

Such a unique, boutique hotel about 2 blocks from City Creek shopping, temple square and so many great places to eat. Check in was so easy and though there's only valet, they were very prompt and super friendly. The restaurant there is amazing!! So good. The croque de madam was superb. French press coffee is a dream. Wonderful place to stay.

One of the best hotels in Salt Lake! Fantastic customer service. Rooms are immaculate, comfortable and nice! Staff was amazing. Perfect location to everything. Price is very good for what you get. We went for my wife's birthday and they left us some drinks and treats in our room with a handwritten note. It was a very pleasant surprise. This was our first stay there and won't be our last. This will be our go to hotel in SLC now.

Pretty standard hotel. Didn't get to try the bar or restaurant but it always looked busy. The rooms were nice but small, beds were comfortable. They also have bikes for free if you want to get around faster. Overall, a good hotel, but no pool and the fitness center was small.

I can't say enough about this hotel. I booked two nights in one of their suites for my wedding night and the night before. Upon arriving I was greeted with a bottle of champagne and truffles. The staff was so amazing and helpful and the place is beautiful. It was also great for pictures. I ended up losing my credit card somewhere in a box of my wedding stuff. And wasn't able to pay for my room service upon checkout. They kindly gave me another wedding present :-) they are worth every penny and we will be staying there at least once a year :)

The kimpton hotel Monaco seemed like a pretty nice place at first glance and after staying one night there. The hotel had a slightly dated style, and the restaurant closed earlier than I would've liked for breakfast. The location seemed like a good choice, though I arrived late at night and wasn't familiar with the area, so I can't say with complete certainty whether the location was ideal.

The hotel was beautiful. The only bad thing was all he things you had to pay for separately was so overpriced. The snacks were so tempting, my son had a hard time not touching them. It would've been better had they not been there at all. The bed was very comfortable.

Tom Jones

6

The only restaurant in the property is overpriced and the service was sub-par (long wait before first contact from a server; poor attention). During the Outdoor Retailer trade show, the place opened for breakfast at 7 on weekdays and 8 on Saturday, far too late for businesspeople who need to get going. Finally, they did not staff properly for the trade show. There was a wait for breakfast and dinner despite the fact that there were ample empty tables; they must not have had enough servers working to cover all the tables.
That was a two-star experience. They get an extra star for nice, comfortable rooms and the fact they give you a $5 voucher for the restaurant if you refuse maid service.

Pros: Comfortable bed and decent rooms. The location is great. Plenty of places to eat nearby and everything is walkable in SLC.

Cons: I’ve had the a/c set to high fan and 65° all day and it’s still not very cool in my room. Seems to be an issue with fancier hotels everywhere. Didn’t have great water pressure or much hot water in the shower. These are two of the most important things in a hotel room for me. If Holiday Inn Express can figure it it, why can’t more expensive hotels?

7

The staff was nice and service was good - the restaurant's brunch was delicious and not too outrageously priced. If driving, you do have to pay for parking. I understand it's located downtown but I still think it's a bit much to pay for parking on top of the stay. The room was kind of small, as was the one window, which is unfortunate for looking out at the mountains. The room carpet looked like an optical illusion that hurt your eyes if looking at it for too long. But it's pet friendly, so petting dogs makes up for pretty much everything else.

6

The hotel is beautiful, the staff was kind and welcoming. What led to the three stars is parking and accessibility. You either pay $25 for valet, or $20 for parking in a parking garage. It's ridiculous. The in hotel restaurant is too pricey for the average guest, and they appear to nickel and dime everything.

That being said, cool hotel with a quirky culture. I'd stay here again, but I'd Uber.

So far so good, first night of a six-night stay. Boutique ("quirky"), as expected from Kimpton. Retro-cool. Perfectly comfortable room. Bar/restaurant is swanky but too expensive...exceptionally creative menu however. Staff have been friendly & professional.

Had a fantastic experience at this hotel. I arrived early, about 10am, and was still able to check in and get a room. The room was very cute and quirky, and the bed was extremely comfortable. All of the staff I encountered were friendly and helpful. I really appreciated their Eco-friendly option, where if you opt out of housekeeping, you get a credit towards the hotel's restaurant. The morning yoga and wine happy hour were fabulous perks. Would definitely stay here again.

A classic hotel with an attractive lobby, nice rooms, good beds, and very convenient to attractions like Temple Square and downtown SLC. Lots of restaurant choices in the area, and a restaurant in the hotel. I got really great service at the hotel's restaurant, and room service was good too, but it's not cheap. There's also a nice little bar in the hotel.

We arrived on Friday March 11th and were able to check in early, which was a bonus! The hotel was beautiful and the valet parking was great. That's where the good ended for us. We turned in for the night around 10:00 pm and were kept awake all night because of a barking dog 2 doors down. All night. We contacted the front desk and were told that they were trying to make contact with the guest and had been unable to. We then got to hear the people directly across the hall screaming down the hall for someone to shut the damn dog up multiple times throughout the night and morning. We were packed and ready to leave at 8:00 am Saturday morning, we were excited to give the Monaco a try and left feeling disappointed that we couldn't enjoy it.
EDIT: Hotel Monaco got word of our less than great stay and offered us a free night to make up for it. We decided to give it another shot and we are so glad we did! Our original room was a queen room, they comped us a king corner suit with views, it was beautiful. Upon arriving to our room there was a knock on the door, we were surprised to find guest services bringing us a bottle of champagne (we were in Salt Lake for our wedding anniversary) They went above and beyond to make sure that this time we enjoyed every second of our stay. Thank you Hotel Monaco, we will be back.

It was lovely to stay at the Monaco...a break for lower end chain hotels on most of my work trips. Our team was in town for a leadership meeting and stayed here for two nights.

The valet was easy and quick. The check in process was prompt. The room was a nice size, comfortable, and the little moose on the bed to greet you is a nice touch;-). The room is equipped with a yoga mat, an umbrella, and two fun robes. These little touches go a long way!

The free 5-6p wine happy hour is a great touch. There is ample comfy seating to enjoy the free wine at this time. For a late night drink, I was impressed that the bar stayed open to a much later hour than most hotel bars. That goes a long way with me!

I had a very nice and comfortable room at a discounted price. Valet was very nice and prompt. I didn't like my view though, I had a wonderful view of a tall building and they front parking lot of the hotel. I would have preferred a room with a street view.

Pretty decent room, with decent customer service, and decent amenities. They provided a goldfish for "company" but I had to ask the front desk for fish food and had to clean out the bowl myself to keep him/her happy. Call me an animal activist. Parking is not free. We had to pay $20 a night. Overall, I would probably choose another place to stay. Marriott has always treated their guests better. Coming from a staycation Utahn.

We stayed there twice in a week while traveling through Salt Lake. They were great with our Dog. Helpful with luggage and in valet. We stayed in the Majestic Suite and it was nice. The bathrooms, especially the tubs and showers could use an update. Feels early 90's.

The room is well furnished if slightly small, which doesn't bother me in the least. The staff has been nothing but cordial and everything is quite clean. The hotel is nice. There are no places to hang towels out side of the shower, so towels are a constant game of musical chairs. I asked for maintenance to fix a faucet in the bathroom yesterday morning, still waiting.

Nice location a block from the convention center. The bar is expensive and the restaurant has no vegan options.

They allow pets and have cute water bowls as you enter the hotel. Very nice touch.

Kimpton hotels are going for flavor and the personal touch and they have succeeded. The rooms are comfortable and have just the right mixture of posh and character. The rooms aren't the most soundproof I've stayed in, so if you are a light sleeper, bring ear plugs. And join the loyalty program, it is free and gives lots of good perks!

I have never actually stayed at this hotel but I have recommended it to many colleagues coming into town for conferences and I have hosted a conference here as well. All feedback is that this place is fabulous.

My review has nothing to do with the actual hotel room. My personal experience has been with setting up a conference, the food, and networking with colleagues in the lobby.

The staff were easy to work with and the in-house catering was top notch. I tend to judge a venue by the quality of the coffee. Nothing is worse than "conference coffee" that you drink because nothing else is around. But here at the Hotel Monaco, the coffee is actually good.

I had such a pleasant stay at this hotel! From the moment I arrived to the time I left, every effort was made to ensure that my stay was perfect.
They even had a photo of the cast from my favorite TV show next to my bed! That attention to detail and desire to make me feel special was evident everywhere I went, and it was amazing.

A nice surprise. Kind of went into this reservation blind and was quite happy with the results. Unique place but sharp and clean. Service was great and the room service from the restaurant was fantastic. Highly recommended.

My wife and I recently stayed here on our way to Palm Spring. Overall, this is a great hotel. The lobby has a very communal feel and we really liked the wine available in the evening and hot coffee in the morning. The room are very will appointed and as custom to Kimpton, every amenity item you need is available. We did have a few major issues. First, the suite 1503 was a great corner suite except one issue - pipe noise. At first we complained and they sent engineering who explained that the noise from the walls was due to the fact that the wall was shared with a jet tub in the next suite. I accepted this explanation since it was only around 8:30 in the evening. The noise repeated itself again around 10:30 for about 10 minutes. It really sounded like a super large and loud broken toilet. Since it went away I again assumed it was just our neighbors taking yet another bath...who am I to judge? The problem returned at 1:30 in the morning and lasted for 1/2 hour! And then again after that...I did not get any sleep and I had an early morning flight. Perhaps my neighbors were just extra dirty all night? Hum. At check out, when I advise the desk what happened, they seemed oblivious. Honestly, I feel robbed paying for an expensive suite and not being able to sleep. I would certainly return to the hotel but never again in that suite. Be sure to ask above room noise when you check in. Also, note, that although it says 24 hours room service, it is from the hotel restaurant. There were no menus in the room which made it difficult to order. Not to nit pick, but shouldn't bell men with luggage allow guests to take an elevator?

My husband and I went last night to celebrate my birthday! I loved the simple yet luxurious room, our bed was incredibly comfortable! Complimentary wine tasting, free valet parking made our stay fun and care free. The staff was warm and accomadating. They sent up complimentary wine and chocolate cheesecake when they heard it was a special occasion!
