Environment

Property's Green Action

It is our objective to run our operation as sustainable as ever possible and limit our impact on the environment. In order to become more sustainable, we work together with suppliers and partners to develop smart solutions that reduce the environmental impact. We reduce and optimize our consumption through the use of measures, such as energy efficient lighting, water consumption reduction, waste and chemical management and green projects.

Certifications

Green Globe

Green Globe’s International Standard for Sustainable Tourism is a certification scheme that requires hotels to report on their sustainability performance throughout their supply chains. It traces its roots back to the United Nations Rio de Janeiro Earth Summit in 1992, where 182 Heads of State endorsed the Agenda 21 principles of Sustainable Development. The standards are a collection of over 330 compliance indicators that are applied to 41 individual sustainability criteria - these can be divided into four themes:

• Sustainable Management
• Social/Economic
• Cultural Heritage
• Environmental

Clients can calculate their CO2e footprint, the financial cost of that CO2e, and track their performance of energy and water consumption and non-recyclable waste production. The certification is only awarded to members that have a compliance rating of at least 51%. The award can then only be maintained if members continually improve by 3% every year.

I have visited your hotel in 2011, things were all amazing …. after 7 years I have noticed that the overall facilities, as well as rooms maintenance, are not to the expected level of a 5 stars’ resort.
Hangers in the rooms (we had overall of 7 rooms) are missing, AC ducts full of molds, lights are not sufficient, rooms need repainting, public passages need as well painting and lights maintenance.
We were mainly using the upper swimming pool (the one without the sand) I was holding my infant while using the ladder, unfortunately, the ladder was loose due to poor maintenance and fell with my daughter (luckily no one get hurt) yet my daughter got afraid, moreover my brother kids stabled on the underwater light which was loose and the cable was laying all under the feet’s of swimmers (your staff claimed that it is not dangerous).
In another note, all your staff is polite and helpful.
Hope to see that overall Hotel and rooms maintenance been taken seriously

Have been visiting this resort-hotel since it opened in early 2000, they have a unique Arabic look architect. Nice Al Khayam bar, nice beach pool when it is not packed. Infinity pool is nice too when it is not packed. The Zara Spa is excellent. The breakfast at the main restaurant is excellent, used to have more quality items few years ago. The Italian restaurant is over priced but their pizza is nice and thin.

I stayed for 4 nights. I apparently got a “free upgrade” to a deluxe room but I was not not impressed. The room was very shabby and the balcony was very filthy, I could spend any time there. My room was in block F - I’d highly recommend getting a room closer to the main hotel building if you want a quiet night of sleep. My room was near the restaurants where they play VERY LOUD live music until 12-1am and the rooms are not sound proof...
The highlights for me (and the reason this review does not have 1 star) were the Zara spa and the Dead Sea. The Spa is beautiful, shame they haven’t updated the rest of the hotel to the same standard. The staff were lovely and I really enjoyed the treatments and using the facilities. The Dead Sea is as beautiful and nourishing as people claim, the photos don’t do it justice.
So overall, I’d probably try another hotel on the strip next time, considering the amount I paid for the room.

Check in was amazing they upgraded me to a villa suite. Food opens up at 1pm so that was the only downfall, but u can order food service and it was delicious. The pool was perfect temperature and the drinks were the bomb. Check out was easy and valet is free. They have spas and kiddie pools.

This was my 4th time at the hotel though first in 17 years! I must say the hotel has kept up and did not look outdated at all. Rather it felt and looked as modern as a I remembered. Very happy with the stay and experience. The hotel staff and Avis desk (Ali S) could not have been more accommodating.

I would definitely recommend this place. First of all the staff was super nice and they are always ready to help you and make your stay as special as possible. Also the buildings are really pretty and the architecture is modern yet traditional. In between the buildings there’s a lot of nature, which creates a beautiful scenery. During dinner we enjoyed a really nice live performance of traditional Arabic music, which made the food even taste better than it already was.

I have visitors from the States. The employees did an awesome job with customers service. The employee Ibrahim Nawafleh was awesome. He was very patient, very helpful, and he was helping while he was having a big smile on his face. The swimming pools are clean, the beach and the rooms are all great. I recommend everyone to come and visit.

I opted for the Zara Spa Pass. Well worth it although the sauna wasn't up to temperature (minus one star). A cold plunge pool would help too. Friendly, helpful staff and the day pass gives you access to the Dead Sea too. If you're going to visit the Dead Sea, I recommend you opt for a spa rather than using a free beach. You get what you pay for. I also recommend the Swedish massage. Overall you won't be disappointed.

My wife and I had two wonderful days at Mövenpick Resort & Spa Dead Sea. The view of the dead sea was outstanding. Comfort and service were all the best. The kitchen surprised us both morning and evening with a mix of international dishes and local cuisine. In the spa area, my wife received treatment while I enjoyed the facilities and the various pools (hot, cold, salty). The place is decorated in muted colors and natural materials. The dead sea is an experience and Mövenpick is the best place to live.

Lovely Hotel and grounds, very helpful staff. Little bit busy around check in and out times with perhaps a few more staff needed at peak times. Excellent restaurant buffets and range of food. Lovely bar terrace facing the Dead Sea. Only drawback for us was the noise at night from the Village Restaurants close by our room. Can be a bit of a trek walking down to the beach for elderly guests, but overall a lovely place to stay

The main attraction is the Dead Sea and it delivers that. But the rooms are pretty ordinary for the price, and the breakfast and dinner buffets are disappointing. The resort is surprisingly far from the "beach." There's an electric cart that goes from the reception area to the sea, but it can be hard to find.

But the Dead Sea is great, and the pools are quite nice. I did expect just a bit better from a resort of this level.

Difficult to find main entrance, big barrier crossing the road, x/ray scanning at the entrance, no warning for pregnant woman.
Welcoming, friendly staff. Spacious, light room. Tasty and fresh breakfast. Helpful lifeguard at the beach, a bit dirty water in the swimming pool. Overall experience very good. Highly recommended fort short stay.

One of the best hotels in the area that suits everyone, if you are a family with kids their is the summer pool which is designed in a creative way where the bottom of the pool is sand and suitable for kids. If you are a coupe or old and just want to lay down in the sun or relax you can do that by the infinity pool that had an amazing view over the sea. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Staff are very friendly and service is good. However the only 2 downsides of this hotel are that the beach is rocky not sandy and that the hotel is really big and you will need to walk for long distances, for example from the main building to the beach is a 25 minuets walk. They offer to take you down by club cars to make it easier for who can’t walk long distances however this service is very slow and you will spend 25 minutes waiting for a club car to come pick you up. Other than that the hotel is one of the best and suits everyone. I personally enjoyed my time their and I recommend it for everyone.

Check in, especially golf cart allocation too slow. Food provided at restaurants of poor quality and bad execution. Our grill platter at Arabic restaurant was cold. The grill only refined restaurant which still lacks a 5 star cuisine, though offers it at extortionate prices.

Hotel requires a revamp. We saw a lot of public visible maintenance issues, staff entrances which should always be hidden from the guests at 5 star properties.

Great plus, our upgrade to the room, fantastic Spa facilities and absolutely charming staff at the Pool Lounge bar.

Amazing hotel and amazing team
We are staying at the hotel now the story started by the time we arrived the hotel the valet staff were very welcoming, flexible and helpful. The reception team are very smiley and the gave us a room in the village oasis very nice place to stay near to restaurants and pools. The room was superbly clean and the bathroom was also very clean. The resort cleanliness is something remarkable. Happy to be here.

The hotel’s building and décor are beautiful, I liked the pools, the rooms even though the lightning was dim, I loved the kids’ area in the restaurant it's a lovely idea. But I'm disappointed with a few things, the food wasn't good at all, we tried dinner, breakfast and room service, we ordered pizza and fries it was awful. When we checked out we left our bags in the luggage, I left my camera and lenses as they said it's perfectly safe. when I went back to get them they gave me only my bag, without the camera bag, later they let me in the luggage room and I searched for it and took it. My friend left 2 bags one of them was a gift paper bag, they said they gave us everything but when we got to Amman her gift bag wasn't there. I really can't understand why only one bag is given back for each, do they for some reason separate them or what is it that makes them lose our things, when we gave them multiple bags? Above all my friend got bed insect stings and had to go to the doctor, it has been almost a month and the stings are still all over her legs. I may consider it an accident, but the bags thing is something I just can't get over.

We had a great time from check-in to check-out. All members of staff made it a pleasure to be here.

Also, access to the Dead Sea is easy, nice and even there is a helpful person to assist. The pool was lovely and the waiters very attending. Our kids enjoyed their stay too.

We decided to return to Mövenpick on our way to Amman. Thank you so much!

My husband and I went to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. The hotel was recommended by my colleague. On arrival we were happily greeted and security checked and taken to the desk for checking in. The place is immaculately clean including our room and the ground beautifully kept. The food..a wide variety for both breakfast and dinner. I told them on reservation about our 25th wedding anniversary and on the evening we had a mouth watering cake and enjoyed a live band... singing our requests. Over all we had a fantastic time in Jordan. We had a great time floating in the Dead Sea!

The hotel landscape is pretty nice and covering a large surface, as well as the lobby area. My room was not really clean and i was told that it has a view but it didn't have any. The breakfast was diverse but not so tasty nor of a high quality. It has an access to dead sea water but don't expect a sandy beach, i guess however that's the case for all hotels there except the Kampenski i guess. Staff are friendly and fun to talk to, they are from the surrounding areas within "Al Ghour" region. The price is fine, and the pool is really cool.

Nice rooms and breakfast was good. However, it is a massive resort and you are either near the sea or near reception/bar/main restaurant, but not both. There are small swimming pools in different areas, but just one mail pool and sea area. Nothing else nearby.

Highly recommended. One of the best experiences I've had so far. We stayed in one of the chalet like rooms downstairs. We had a pool for ourselves. there's a Jacuzzi amidst
the trees; the lifeguard on duty did not hesitate to turn it on just for me as no one else wanted to use it in the hot weather. There is acess to the beach, a very refreshing morning walk, actually. So many pools, the best is the infinity pool at the zara spa. Amazing for an unforgettable sunset. The spa has lots of massages and other mud levitating experiences... .... you don't need to get out of the hotel to have fun. I can go on and on.

Resort is fantastic. But I didn't like them letting people smoke or take glass products in the pool. Also it was the only hotel I've been in of that stature who does nothing for a guests birthday. Also if you've kids and a garden view room be warned you'll hear the music till midnight quite clearly

Just back from a short break at the Movenpick. It's a beautiful resort, lovely landscaped gardens and a number of pools - the beech infinity pool has amazing views over the Dead Sea and is an amazing place to watch the epic sunsets with a cold beer. I consider it the best hotel in the Dead Sea area. I am going there regularly with my family and kids. Food is great, facilities are amazing, and staff are friendly.

I would rate it 5*, but my last visit wasn't as great as it should be... generally staff were not proffessional at all, and they lack the service professionalism due to changing their management, yet I would still recommend it for families vacations, weekends escape, and retreats.

We are here on the last weekend before the Eid. Initially we opted for a family room but the room we were given was bang in front of a construction site. Since we had an infant, we requested a room change and they obliged. The family room was very dusty and unclean, everything around seems to be like under construction! We moved to the main building and were given two separate rooms which were not adjoining. We had no other option and had to take those.
Cost cutting is visible everywhere, teaspoons with coffee mugs were made of plastic and painted silver! The tissue container did not have a bottom cover and the tissues were exposed to the table top...house keeping were on the minimum restricted only to making up the bed.
I dont know if the services will be better after Ramadan, but as of now it is below par.

Lovely hotel. Nice rooms. Good access to the sea. Food a bit over priced.

Amazing place, very relaxing with an easy access to a private beach in the Dead Sea. The rooms are beautiful and clean, and all the resort has an amazing Moroccan style. The buffet dinner was great, with lots of Arabic food. The staff is very helpful. i would definitely stay there again

Beautiful pools with a great view of and access to the Dead Sea. I recommend the daily pass to use the facilities because part of it can be used as a food voucher! Food is good but nothing terribly unique.

After tucking in a lunch of Jordanian food, I jumped onto the beach with a load of the clay mud. Not only was I going to rub it all over my face, but also over my belly, arms and legs. It's a bit difficult scrubbing through the hair but in the end I looked like a pig who had enjoyed his time in the mud. I jumped into the clear water of the Dead Sea. Although my swimming skills are are quite intact but you can easily float around in the Dead Sea. Do not try to do the traditional swimming techniques as the water here is saline beyond imagination. It will only need a bit of it going into your mouth to start retching.

Movenpick resort and spa was definitely a wonderful experience for me and my family. The check in was smooth and welcomed by the friendly staff. Our kids' room were also placed adjoining next to us (sea view) which they kindly upgraded. The Zara spa's couple treatment is very relaxing with very good therapist. Shame that the dead sea pool is under construction but then again just head to the real sea 😜

Good view to Dead Sea, nice room facility, warm greeting from staff, but lots of travel group live here. Great buffet, cute cats in the garden, but some swimming pool and vila in maintenance, a bit noisy. Love lobby decor here.

Low maintained hotel - many areas are looking old and not maintained

everything is perfect generally at this hotel, from staff to food and services. I highly recommend.

from my point of view, separate suites and rooms is a plus.

Very comfortable rooms which are designed in the way of a small traditional village. Great vows over the Dead Sea and al fresco dining on the terrace restaurant. I enjoyed my stay and would certainly return.

Eating in the report is extremely expensive but overall the hotel is great and rooms are very cosy. Personnel is attentive to our every need. It's also good with family, plenty of pools reserved for families and small kids, so that they don't bother other guests. Almost every room has a view on the Dead Sea. Overall quite expensive unfortunately. But great stay.

Stayed at the hotel and it has some of the most beautiful views of the dead sea. Make sure you get the view of the dead sea. It is worth paying extra and include the breakfast as it was one of the best buffets we had for breakfast.
