If anybody is trying to find good deals for hotels visit RoomBully. com booked a hotel on there and they had the best rates anywhere!

We had an amazing experience this weekend! The service at the front desk was above and beyond what we are used to. Noah was a sweet gentleman at the front desk who found out it was my birthday and personally delivered dessert and a small bottle of wine after already giving us a small room credit for the mini bar! Everything was clean, comfortable, and a small issue another couple had with a broken heater was resolved promptly.

I really appreciated that upon entering our room, there were 2 complimentary bottles of water and a little plate of delicious sweet treats (plus a nice note welcoming us). What I appreciate most was the care and helpfulness of the front desk. My husband had a medical emergency (we were already staying for multiple appointments at MGH over the course of 2 days), requiring an ambulance to come transport him the last day of our stay. I stayed behind because our dog was with us and not allowed at the emergency room. The front door called our room to check on me after the paramedics left with my husband. They asked if I wanted coffee or water, and to see if I needed to push back check out time, since I was waiting to follow up on my husband’s condition. Thank you for helping make a stressful visit a little bit easier. The flexibility and show of care is what will bring us back in the future. Highly recommend!

I love a Kimpton Hotel and this one was nice. I did have issues upon checkin but those were handled professionally and with great service.h main compliant was the bed - felt like it was old and left me sore in the morning. Staff was helpful and location seemed good.

I didn’t have a chance to try the food but they do have a complimentary wine hour in the evening.

Noah and Vince at the front desk were kind and Raquel was really sweet!! I will try again and hope I’ll get a more comfy bed. Hotel is small but with a large heart. 😜

Had an excellent weekend stay at the Kimpton Onyx Hotel. Great room size and close to many Boston must-dos. Noah at the front desk even went above and beyond even keeping tabs on our puppy while we were away at dinner! Highly recommend for anybody staying in the area!

Staff are friendly, attentive and welcoming. Location is near pretty near Salem st where there are scores of restaurants. Convenience store is just 3 mins walk away. Rooms are comfortable, and most amenities provided for or can be requested. Definitely worth a stay.

Nice room, good size for the price and area. The shower wasn't draining properly which was a bit of an issue when checking out. Not much as far as free breakfast or anything like that, but the staff was very nice. It's walking distance to a 7/11 which is pretty convenient. Definitely recommend if you're looking for a low price hotel that does it's job.

Great value. The room was super clean modern and centrally located. But when our flight was delayed this is where they came throug big time . We got a 1 pm check out then when our flight was delayed again Lauren , Chris and Sydney treated us like family . They warmed our kids left overs from then night before and brought them out on a nice plate with silverware etc. they kept our kids entertained by giving them games to play. Really classy hotel, modern and great friendly helpful staff

Least favorite Kimpton so far. Doesn't have the 4-star boutique feel to it. Comfortable, yes. Good location, yes. But for a luxury stay Onyx didn't meet those needs.

I just loved this place!! Had tickets to a U2 concert at the Garden and the Kimpton Onyx could not have been more perfect! Three minute walk to the Garden and right in the North end where all the good food is!! The staff was very friendly and they even sent me a complimentary fruit and campaign tray to my room...so cute! Rooms are small but adorable and the pillows are sooooo comfy! Very quiet, even after the concert let out. I will definitely be back and would recommend this hotel to anybody, especially for the location. :)

Access easy, clean and comfortable, it means very useful hotel. It is located near red line of subway in Boston so good for access, besides near hotel you can find a lot of foods. Easy access to walk for center downtown. This hotel is very pet friendly hotel. When I have a check in, dogs were walking down to a elevator, the dog looked like just like the GUEST, not pet. I love the style. The room was very modern, clean and good air conditioner. So I could have good time here!

Very nice hotel in a great location near the TD Garden and the North End. Plenty of bars and restaurants within 1-2 minutes. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the room was trendy. Didn't try out many of the amenities.

Small hotel close to the TD Garden. It has everything for your basic needs. This includes a modest room, equipped with safe, iron and ironing board. A compact space in the lower ground with cardio machines and free weights. And a restaurant to the side of the lobby serving decent breakfast starting at 8am. This hotel is also dog friendly!!

I usually love Kimpton hotels, but not this one. My room was small and not shaped well for the size. I stay in Boston often and this was the smallest room I have ever had. On Friday day and early evening the front desk clerks were wonderful, amazing and helpful. After that it went downhill quickly. Generally, just wasn't the usual service and style I have come to expect from Kimpton hotels.

The greatest hotel in the City of Boston. You have TD Garden, Financial District, Faneuil hall/Quincy market, North End *with amazing Italian food*, and a plethora of other destinations. To top it all off, the staff at this hotel is beyond phenomenal. I would recommend any and everyone to give this place a try!

Excellent customer service! Made us feel like part of the family. We showed up hours before check in time and they let us crash in the rooms early as we had been driving all night long and were exhuasted. The establishment is really clean and the rooms are spacious. Beds are SUPER comfortable! They were very helpful with directions and places to visit.

They pet policy is unbeatable. And they have people there to walk your dog if you need them while you are out.

Really great experience and well worth spending a couple extra bucks for.

From the time my fiancee and I arrived to the moment we left the staff was very welcoming and friendly. Service was superb. We were there for the Celtics game and location was perfect. 5 minutes from TD Garden if that. Walking distance to great bars and restaurants as well as north end. Room was spotless. Expect to be awakened by nighttime crowd after hours from Bruins/Celtics games but comes with the experience given the location. Overall great hotel.

I love staying in Kimpton hotels but this wasn't a pleasurable experience. The location was great for us. We tried to check in early but were told we couldn't. Understandable since we were a few hours early, except when we finally did check in and we were knowingly given the only room with a broken fridge when we evidently had a toddler. The solution provided by staff for our milk dilemma? Put the milk in the staff fridge. We complained and they finally managed to get a fridge that worked from who knows where-probably the other rooms that were empty. Needless to say some staff understood the industry they were in which is why I'm giving 3 stars, others probably just a temp. job to get them through the University term they're second guessing. If I'm ever in Boston again I'd try the other Kimpton there.

Lovely hotel. I first heard about this around 2005 for the "Britney"Suite. I don't think they have it any more. I strongly would recommend. Has a CVS and Walgreen's next door so its easy to grab items you need in a rush.

Overall a great location with good employees at the helm. I would have awarded them 5 stars but the exhaust fan to our bathroom was out of order throughout our stay. The staff offered us another room but we loved our room.

The room was clean and house keeping did a good job... Also the room has a mini bar available that is fully equipped.

Keep in mind that any snacks or beverages available in the room are not free. You will be charged.. I will definitely consider staying here again in the future. Lastely the hotel is located next to the arena for the Boston Celtics and Bruins.... worth it.

The hotel is great. They have a wine complimentary happy hour every day. The staff are friendly and helpful. I gave them 4 stars only because the cleaning staff missed out on mould on bottom shelves in bathroom and you could see it when taking a bath. Also they didn't top up my shower gel although it was empty.

The location was perfect, but wouldn't spend the money on this hotel. There was a birthday party going on next to us (they even had a sign on the door). I called the front desk because of the noise but it didn't make any difference. In the morning they insisted they went up to the room to ask them to be quite, but they 100% did NOT. Very disappointing for a "high end" hotel. I would rate lower, but the bed was comfortable, hotel was very clean and the location to Metro was great.

We stayed at the Kimpton Onyx prior to the Lionel Richie and Mariah Carey concert. The location was perfect! Just steps away from TD Garden. Before the show we had dinner in the Ruby Room which was delicious! Our entire experience was wonderful and the staff took great care of us. We highly recommend this hotel!

The staff is gracious & genuine. There are a lot of things I liked about this property: great coffee, daily wine social hour (sadly I missed each day), boutique decor, and proximity to T to get to the places we had plan. I felt safe walking back even late at night & even with active night life across the street the room was quiet. The property is pet friendly and while I'm not a pet person myself there was nothing about this policy that interfered with my enjoyment. Our room was very clean. This was our first time staying at this property. I really enjoy the brand personality and was thrilled to see the staff matched. Ryan & Caitlyn were especially helpful. I highly recommend joining the Kimpton Karma loyalty club. This will be our preferred hotel for future Boston stays.

Clean, quiet room. Very comfortable bed. Large bathroom, with a nice selection of products. Mini bar in the room, which seems to be less and less common in some hotels. Great guest services, and very friendly staff at reception.

Love Kimpton hotels! The Onyx staff is very helpful. During my stay, they were having required elevator maintenance. I had a sprained ankle, and they ensured that I had a room on the second floor, and provided a small complimentary bottle of wine as an apology for the inconvenience. I'm always pleased with the room and service!

I feel like I could write a book about how fantastic this place was! I consider myself pretty picky when it comes to where I stay. This truly has a boutique environment. The staff are just outstanding. I felt like I was staying over a friend's house the way that they kindly treated their guests. I found it very clean and the best part was how very environmentally responsible they are. The icing on the cake is they are in a fantastic spot to walk around the city. I know for a fact I'll be staying there again when I come to visit Boston.

Free cold brew on tap 6-10AM, wine hour 5-6, and yoga mats in every room. Staff was very welcoming and attentive after fire alarm went off in the early morning. Great location 10 min from Faneuil hall and the north end. Room was small or else I would have given 5 stars.

Great hotel; close to the North Station with links to the MBTA and AMTRAK, in a great location close to lots of amenities, restaurants and drug stores. Room was a great size, the bed was a great size and very comfortable. TV was a great size. Bathroom was modern and clean, Shower was a little underpowered but still good. Breakfast was a little underwhelming; small selection of warm food and a standard continental selection. However rather expensive for what was provided, would recommend eating elsewhere. All in all a pretty good hotel.

Great hotel. There was music playing outside, and I asked the front desk when the music would stop. They said that nearby bars close at 2am, but that the manager could move me to a quieter room. The manager came to my room personally, said he could hear the music too, and told me that he would indeed move me to a better room, so that I could get a good night's sleep. They moved me, and I got just that. Great service. :-)

I went to the Kimpton Onux Hotel for an alumni mixer to meet up with some of my old classmates. They had a sort of chain mail curtain to divide the bar from the lobby inn order to keep our event separate from the guests.

The bar was well stocked and the appetizers provided were on point, all taken care of by Kimpton Onyx staff. Additionally, the staff was very friendly.

Given how many people attended (around 25+), they could have opened up the area a bit to be more accommodating, which is why I'm only giving this a 4, however everything else was very nice.

I did not go into any rooms and was contained to the bar/lobby areas.

Staying on a business trip, I wanted to be near the North End for the few hours I wouldn't be working. This location was perfect for that and convenient to downtown. The hotel, like many Kimptons, is smaller but contemporary and nice. The rooms are smallish but well appointed. My view was of another room/apartment window, so that wasn't the best but not a big deal. The staff was extremely helpful and went out of their way to be helpful. I'd recommend this hotel for business or couples.

The Onyx Hotel is located between Boston's West End and North End, close to Boston's TD Garden (home of the Boston Celtics and Boston Bruins) plus lots of sports bars and pubs. It's also an easy walk to Boston's Freedom Trail (Old North Church, Paul Revere's house, Bunker Hill, etc) and Faneuil Hall (great food and over 100 of the finest shops).

When our family of 4 (2 adults & 2 children - 6 & 11) arrived, we were greeted by 2 great valets/bellhops that help us get our luggage out of our car and into the lobby, while our car was whisked away to an unknown location. Since we arrived during their "evening wine reception", the lobby was packed with hotel guests consuming their free glass of wine. This made getting all of us and our luggage to the front desk and then to our room a definite challenge. Part of the reason for the lack of lobby space is because of the 6-8 table cafe/bistro/restaurant that consumes of the bottom floor.

We then finally made it to our 2 double-beds room... an incredibly small 2 double-beds room. With a single 2 foot wide window. Looking at a lower rooftop with AC units. And with almost no place to set most of our luggage, besides the floor. Just last week we stayed downtown in another major east coast city (also a 4-star hotel and for the same price), had a room that was literally twice (possibly 3x) the size and had significant windows overlooking the city's skyline.

Then, thanks to the locked minibar/refrigerator, there is no usable refrigerator. And no microwave. I guess they expect you to order from their rather overpriced (in my opinion) room service menu. For example, to me, $4 for a glass of milk or $9 for a basket of fries is just too much.

Next comes the room decor. Very art deco, very dark and heavy. And consuming most of the room's space. Plus the desk truly appears to have had it's finish touched up with a permanent marker.

Next was the bathroom. Fairly spacious but which had received a rather obvious superficial make-over. For example, some fixtures were slightly rusty (due to no exhaust fan) and parts of the poorly "redone" shower grout had come off; exposing the discolored original "white" grout underneath. The sink also had a major discolored "spider" crack and had no hot water (literally, even after running full hot for 5+ minutes). Only by running the water in the bathtub for 2-3 minutes at full hot could I actually get hot water from the sink. Unfortunately, the sink won't hold water (the drain stop wasn't working) so I had to just run the hot water while I shaved (wasting more water than necessary).

The room did have AC, surprisingly necessary despite low 60's outside, high winds and rain, but was way too loud to let run all night.

Then, when I found the next morning that we needed a couple more things from our car, I went asking about my car at the front desk. Only to be told that it was in a "private parking garage" and that I could not go to my car. He then suggested that I just tell him what I wanted from my car and he'd have a valet go look through my car for it, for me. "Excuse me??!?" Fortunately, one of yesterday's valet/bellhops grabbed me and we trooped off (in the rain) towards the massive Haymarket Station *public* parking garage a couple blocks away, home of the local Enterprise Rent-a-Car.

Lastly, they do offer WiFi ($10 per visit) but free if you sign up for their "Kimpton InTouch" rewards program. Sadly, the WiFi dropped repeatedly (about 2 dozen times) during just my 45 minutes to write this review.

Can I recommend the Onyx Hotel? Sure. If you're a single person or youngish couple looking for a boutique hotel towards the grittier (i.e. "louder") end of Boston's nightlife. If you're older or have underage children with you, I'd recommend looking elsewhere.

Will I be back? No. Possibly not even to another different Kimpton Hotel.
