Certifications

LEED Gold

The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) standard, developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), recognizes best-in-class building strategies and practices. It certifies that green buildings meet standards of energy efficiency, conservation, and community sensitivity.

LEED-certified buildings reduce energy and water by as much as 40%. LEED-certified buildings save resources and have a positive impact on the health of occupants while promoting renewable, clean energy.

USGBC's rating system has four levels: Certified, Silver, Gold, and Platinum. Green Building Councils in other countries have similar programs.

Green Key Eco-Rating Program 4

With more than 1,200 hotels certified in Canada since its inception in the 1990s, the Green Key Eco-Rating Program awards hotels an environmental rating of one to five Green Keys. Green Key members are then given guidance on how to "unlock" opportunities to reduce operating costs and environmental impacts - and in turn earn more keys.

The Green Key audit looks at nine major areas of sustainable hotel operations:
• Energy conservation
• Water conservation
• Solid waste management
• Hazardous waste management
• Indoor air quality
• Community outreach
• Building infrastructure
• Land use
• Environmental management

I’m not usually one to complain, but for as much as this place costs to stay per night, coupled with their completely undeserving 4 &1/2 stars, you’d think they would have some better toilet paper in the bathrooms. They currently have this 99cents store 1/2 ply paper that you need to wrap around your hand 100 times to avoid getting excrement on your fingers when you attempt to wipe your tuchus. I mean really Kimpton? Really ?

Very chic hotel close to a variety of restaurants, stores, LOVE park... Was here at Christmas time, just beautiful. The staff were ultra-helpful -- and the Happy Hour in the evening is the perfect warm-up for the evening. (If you're there in the colder months, make sure you have a spiked apple cider -- a delicious way to heat from the inside out!)

Service here is second to none! Great atmosphere and super helpful... I needed a feather free room and let them know before I checked in. By 1:15 I was in my room and relaxing without an issue! The bar is a little noisy in the evenings but always busy and the events are a great way to mingle.

Attended a wedding at this hotel. Seemed pretty nice on the inside. The wedding was on the top floor and is a good spot for a smaller wedding. Friends who stayed there liked their rooms. I would stay here if I was in need of a hotel close to center city. Good location

Stayed in the City King Spa room. The bathroom with the deep tub was luxurious. The room was wonderful. The service was excellent. Great stay but there's no pull in area to go check in quickly and no parking save expensive valet.

My husband and I are looking forward to staying here next weekend for our anniversary. We are traveling from Michigan. I am extremely excited. The hotel staff has already made my upcoming stay feel more welcomed as I have called a few times to inquire about hotel amenities. The website showcases this hotel as very eccentric and eclectic. A great location near Center City, great food and ambiance nearby.

We spent one night here. I loved the central location, the ease of valet, and the room. Our king deluxe room was comfy and roomy and the AC worked well! Staff was very friendly. The only downside was how incredibly heavy the room door was!

Great customer service and in a fabulous part of town. The restaurant is 3 stars and overpriced. I love the King Spa room. One of my favorite things is that there are full-size bath products with the shower. The room is a little small but very nice. Beds and pillows are extremely comfortable. All of the lobby staff go out of their way to be kind, polite, and helpful!

Great hotel. Clean, modern, rooms a little small, but expected in the city. They have really nice extras like popcorn and wine nights for guests. It's really nice and more hotels need to do little things like that. Restaurant on the first floor is very good too.

This is a very pet friendly hotel. We had forgotten a water bowl. We called the front desk to see if they had one. They said they did and would bring it to our room. They also brought up a rope toy for my dogs witch they still play with. During breakfast I saw the cooks making food for a couple of dogs and boy did they seem to really enjoy it. The staff is very friendly and the room was very clean.

Gorgeous, clean room. Modern, fun decor. Front desk and service staff were friendly, professional and efficient. Room was a bit small but more than acceptable given the location and price. Would definitely stay again.

Love the Kimpton hotels and Palomar provided another excellent stay. Kevin at the front desk was so amazing, the restaurant was great and the room was amazing. A different vibe than the Monaco where we usually stay, but we loved it! Will definitely be back.

My girlfriend and I decided to take a trip to Philadelphia for the weekend. I had recently stayed at Kimpton property in Pittsburgh. I figured that I'd check Hotel Palomar out since I'm an IHG member and the reviews on TA were good. We weren't disappointed. The restaurant/bar (Square 1862) was great and the location unbeatable. Staff was very accommodating as well. Absolutely no complaints.

We visited this hotel specifically to stay there for the Eagles Super Bowl Parade. I don't mind spending a decent amount of money to make sure that I have a clean room. I do have to say that the amount of money I spent on this room was not worth the amenities and the cleanliness that came along with it. As soon as you walk in the front door there was some smell of sewer and that's how you were greeted. Another thing is you would expect there to be a place to pull over and get out of the car but it being on a busy Street we had to pull up a block and I had two young children in the car. They are not allowed to come two blocks up to pick up your car which I don't understand. I'm not sure I would recommend staying at this establishment. The only reason I'm really giving them four stars because I had a great time at the parade.

Hubby and I planned a stop here to relax after a 2 hour flight and two hour drive after week long cruise. Check-in was smooth, we were given all of our perks being Kimpton rewards members and our previously requested champagne and chocolate covered strawberries were already waiting for us in the room. The King Spa Room is AMAZING. My husband is 6'6 and we rarely find a spa tub that he's comfortable in let alone one we both could both relax in. It was so wonderful, we didn't want to leave! The shower is enclosed with and right next to the tub (which prevents what would be an otherwise inevitable mess) and all of their spa toiletries were fabulous as well. Kimpton Palomar is now the ONLY hotel we will use when we come to Philadelphia to visit family.

Nice hotel and very clean. They have some fun things like wine hour, but we we're so busy during our stay that we didn't have time to check it out. The location is good and there is a lot to do in the area. The staff was helpful with our questions.

The hotel general provides excellent position and great service.

The only problem is about the house keeping. I went to phili for a conference and always took a can of soda back to my hotel. On my last day when I leave, i left the empty can of soda on the table, and the house keeper thought I took it from the mini bar and charged me for about $5.

It took me some time to talk with the hotel people and got a full refund. However, it really surprised me to see such simple mistake for a hotel always provides excellent service.

I do recommend everyone to let them know that you didn't use anything from the mini bar to avoid this mistake.

Very clean, great service, friendly staff. Valet parking is surprisingly easy given the location. Hotel included "wine hour" which was free wine for an hour. Room was very spacious for a city hotel and also very clean. Located in a very nice area of the city with plenty to do all within walking distance.

Fantastic service here, the staff is very friendly! My birthday happened to fall on my stay here and the front desk staff had champagne and birthday cake delivered to my room. What a nice touch and very thoughtful of them. I will definitely be staying here again!

Great one night stay to celebrate boyfriend’s birthday! Location was perfect. So much to choose from. Room was clean and comfortable. Terrance who greeted us at the valet was so nice and knowledgeable to give great recommendations of places to go. We will definitely be staying again at that hotel.

We could not have loved this hotel more. The staff was amazing and accommodated us on an unexpected trip after our flight was cancelled. Wuyahank at the front desk (sorry is spelling is off) was THE BEST! She accommodated is Saturday and Sunday. She was friendly and willing to help. Thank you so much. I will recommend this hotel to everyone!

Architecturally distinctive upscale hotel in the heart of one of the hottest neighborhoods in Philly. Front desk service is consistently warm and inviting, and the complementary umbrellas were a nice touch. We were delighted to receive chocolate dipped strawberries and champagne service in our room since it was our sixteen year anniversary. I felt bad that we didn't get a chance to have the champagne since our schedule was already chock-full. I thought our room was small but cozy and had nice views out over the city.

Lunch was fantastic. It worried me a bit that the restaurant was empty but it came highly recommended. I can see why. The food was phenomenal. My friend opted for a vegan meal and the waiter was happy to request the change (a garnish). I had the Croque Madam with mixed greens. Absolutely delicious and the meal seemed huge! The honey mint iced tea was refreshing and not too sweet. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Great meal.

Stayed here with my husband for our 10 year anniversary. It was wonderful, the hotel staff was so pleasant. We had complementary wine, cake, strawberries, and a sweet note waiting for us when we returned from dinner. The hotel was clean and the Fuji tub was amazing! We would stay here again.

I always travel with my dog. The Kimpton Hotel chain is so dog friendly that is is my favorite. The on site restaurant makes biscuits for the dog guests. The Hotel Palomar is contemporary. The rooms are quiet. The sounds of the city aren't heard nor are the sounds from other guests in their rooms or in the halls. Can't beat the nightly complimentary wine happy hour.

We stayed here the night of our wedding and couldn’t have had a better experience. The staff was incredibly accommodating and was extra nice in going out of their way to make things easy. They were flexible about a late check-in and late check-out, gave us some surprise in-room luxuries, and were very personal and attentive. The hotel itself and the rooms themselves are gorgeous and feel first-class.

Stayed there overnight with my fiance as a fun engagement gift. Checked in with an amazingly clean room and really cool Spa tub. Everyone throughout the entire process was very friendly and it didn't feel like they were just doing their job as a formality. Even better is that I always ask for a picture of a dinosaur in those special instruction type questions on reservations and they actually gave me a framed picture of a dinosaur with water and popcorn. What have already stayed at another property but this just cemented it great job from everyone.

Excellent hotel! I've stayed at a few Kimpton's and this one is definitely on par with their standards. The staff was great and friendly. It helps that they are pet friendly. I've stayed at Kimpton hotels on numerous occasions both on my own and with my wife. Frankly, I've never had a bad experience. Regardless of the city, service is always friendly and professional, and each location has its own unique boutique vibe. However, when my wife and I decided to take our first trip with our two and a half year old son, we weren't sure whether a Kimpton would be "family friendly". Boy, were we ever wrong! Every member of their staff from the front desk staff to housekeeping and beyond went out of his or her way to make my son's first hotel stay special. They were so endearing with him that I was not shocked at all when my son gave Greg on the bellhop team an unsolicited hug. Thank you all!

My stay at the Kimpton was terrific! The bed was comfortable and the room had a host of premium amenities including a minibar, bath roves, complimentary umbrella (who would have thought), and a large shower. The high quality of materials throughout the hotel were wonderful and the staff were extremely helpful and polite. I highly recommend the Kimpton as a brand, but this hotel is now among my favorite Kimpton properties.

A gorgeous hotel in Center City Philadelphia. Hotel Palomar is in a great location on Chestnut Street, easy to get to from 30th St Station and near great restaurants. The hotel took our bags as we arrived before the room was ready. They had a hot chocolate station set up in the lobby; a very welcome treat on a cold day. Gorgeous room with stunning city view! Hot tub in glass enclosure behind the shower was lovely. Warm service as always with Kimpton hotels.

Lovely hotel in Philadelphia. Very central, good food at the bar downstairs. I would definitely come back. Great staff at the reception.
Giving it 4 stars (not 5) as they charge for conference space, even when they know they won't sell it that day.

My stay at the Kimpton Hotel Palomar was fantastic! With the location in the middle of downtown it was SO easy to get to the office I was there to visit as well as 30th St Station and plenty of bars and restaurants. My room was perfect! Very impressed with our last minute booking for Saturday night. Staff repeatedly exceeded expectations. We pulled into valet upon arrival and a bottle of wine we had just bought at a local winery fell out of the car and broke. The valet brought us a complimentary replacement. Rooms were stylish and clean even if a little small for the price. Staff was consistently friendly and helpful with local information. Overnight desk clerk answered our inquiry for vending machine location by asking what we were looking for (Gatorade 😉) and telling us she had 2 complimentary for us at the front desk. A very pleasant stay. I would recommend.

This was a great hotel. Room was very nice, bathroom was astounding. Be sure to join Kimpton Karma program to get $10 comped at the bar (or mini bar). Bikes available for loan, free wine from 5-6, coffee and tea in the morning. Great staff. The front desk contacts you via sms after check in, making it easy to ask for any forgotten items and stay in touch with staff.

I'm staying at the Palomar for a week long business trip. My room is a suite on the 20th floor and it's just so beautiful. The bath tub is AMAZING! It's basically a hot tub in your room. Pretty much the only downside is that I cannot figure out the lights. Some buttons work, others don't.

The hotel is very clean and beautiful with an eclectic modern design. The workers were very helpful and friendly. There are event rooms available on multiple floors as are there multiple clean community and family restrooms for when you are not in your room. They also have a restaurant on the first floor with great atmosphere. I Recommend this hotel for sure.

I love this hotel! I arrived late and the staff could not have taken better care of me. The valet was professional and friendly. The front desk was courteous and even slipped be a glass of wine when I expressed disappointment at having missed happy hour. SO SWEET. Ordered room service and it was ethereal. I usually find room service disappointing but it felt like such a luxurious experience. Love all of the little touches-fruit water in the lobby, perfect decor, and amazing location. Can't wait to go back.

I stayed here for a wedding. The rooms were clean. The atmosphere of the hotel was fancy and fresh. I enjoyed the food and facilities for the wedding reception we attended. We booked the king city view room for the bath tub, which was incredible. You can reach the hotel staff by text, which was convenient. I texted and asked for housekeeping while we were out and we came back to a clean room. It's nicely located and dog friendly as well. Loved the modern style of the rooms and lobby. Not your typical hotel experience, but I would definitely recommend it.

Excellent location! So many different restaurants, shopping stores and bars in walking distance. The staff will go completely out their way to help and make sure you're more than comfortable. We ended up staying in a queen and king room during our stay. The queen room has a longer hallway and more spacious than the king. Both were very clean and modern on the inside. They have a complimentary happy hour from 5-6pm every day which is awesome. The list of forgotten items they provide ranges from a toothbrush to phone chargers covering everything in between. Only downside is parking. Valet is $50/night unless your stay is over 3 days and then it's free. We found paid parking on Walnut street which is a block away each day. Plan to spend a minimum of $25/day for parking. Would definitely stay here again!

This hotel is located in the heart of Philadelphia. This location is fantastic with lots of places to eat and to explore (right next to the one liberty observation deck a must see). The hotel itself is very cozy. Everyone is very friendly, room was clean. Only 'complaint' was it was storming one of the nights and the TV was giving out which kinda sucked but didn't ruin the experience. Overall I would recommend anyone to stay here.

Reception was courteous and fast. Ambiance throughout the hotel was nice. Room was well put together. Although, take the "city view" room option with a grain of salt. This is quite limited. All considered, this was a great stay and I would come again.

I went to the hotel's restaurant called Square 1682. This was for a business lunch and it went very well. The service was engaged, friendly, and very prompt. Each of us had the lunch special, but there was a variety of options that made each of our meals unique. The food was well presented, quite filling, and very flavorful. Not a bad thing to say in any way.

One of the best hotel stays. The building is art deco, there are wine tasting and other events hosted by the hotel, and is in a great part of Center City. Conference rooms are nice. However, the hotel restaurant, square 1682 (?) is pricey and portions are tiny. We love the Kimpton experience

This has to be one of my best hotel experiences. The hotel was so clean and well kept, everywhere you go in the place smells so good. Not overpowering, just GOOD. The staff was beyond nice, and helpful. The bed was comfortable and the room was a decent size that you didn't have to wait for the other person to finish what they were doing to move out of the way for you. They have full size shampoo and conditioner in the shower and body wash. Which is nice! One less thing to bring on the plane. I will always look to stay at another Kimpton owned location, no matter where I travel from now on. I was really that pleased.

I was visiting with friends who stayed at this hotel over the holidays this year. Very well kept and clean hotel. The rooms were very nice and the bathrooms were impressive. The only thing I didn't like was that the valet was hard to find because of how the street setup is but beyond that I would definitely stay here and recommend this hotel to friends and family.

The hotel is really nice. Nicely decorated. Comfortable king bed. We checked in Christmas eve. Quick and easy. The only gripe I had was with the food we ordered to the room at 955pm. I called and they informed me the kitchen was about to close and I had to order from the late night menu. The grilled cheese didn't come with the tomato soup and the Caesar salad didn't have the croutons. The front desk did refund $25 for the inconvenience.

The staff, rooms, bar, restaurant...all fantastic. Wonderfully eclectic, great views and of course, the wine hour. Only real ding on this visit (it wasn't our first and it won't be our last) was this sulfur smell that appeared in our room when we tried to bump up the heat. Thoroughly freaked my wife out to the point of wanting to call down for a different room. I lowered the temp and kicked on the fan, and things were fine. But for about an hour, it either smelled like sewage or gas in the room.

Again, other than that? Terrific!

For a 4.5 star hotel, this hotel doesn't offer much in terms of amenities. Our room was small and we didn't even have a coffee maker..something even a 3 star hotel usually offers. The elevator smelled like garbage the entire evening. The snacks were stale and it took them several calls to replace them. The phones weren't even working after we'd complained several times and there was no maid service. I expected a little more from a supposedly first class hotel.

My husband and I had a very nice time staying overnight. The room was clean and well taken care of. Also, the staff were polite and helpful. It was tastefully decorated for Christmas and the fireplace in the lobby added to the ambiance.

This hotel is gorgeous, with convenient valet parking. I was told that my dogs would receive complimentary water bowls and beds, which were not in the room, nor offered once we arrived. Overall, I would have enjoyed staying here if I were not traveling with dogs and moving across country. Otherwise, I really enjoyed the neighborhood and the views.

Square 1682 is a fabulous American restaurant inside the Palomar. My friend Danny is a manager. He is the most fabulous man in all of Philly. His 3rd eye is on-point and vibrates on the galactic level., so dress to impress. The staff is courteous and accommodating. Drinks are made with the finest and freshest ingredients. Drink, Eat and be Merry!

Loved my experience at the Palomar! Always lively inside and outside. Great customer service. My ONLY complaint was the bed mattress. It was way to firm. Me and my husband were tossing and turning all night. The pillows, sheet, and comforter was to die for. The mattress just didn't fit in. Plushness was needed to complete the perfect package. I would love to come back and stay. Maybe I'll be able to get a room with a softer mattress!

I love my 70lb Goldendoodle and I love bringing him on vacation with me. This hotel allows dogs regardless of size. Very nice hotel for a weekend stay in Philly. Free coffee in the morning, and free wine in the evening in the lobby.
The lobby can get very crowded and tough to get through around check-in check-out times.
Staff is very friendly.

Stylish, trendy hotel in city center. 25 floors with top two with meeting rooms. Rooms are generally small with just enough room for queen or king bed. Nicely appointed and bathroom well lit. Bathroom has sliding door to save space. As this looks to be a building conversion, room sizes can vary along with window placement. I had a corner room with 3 windows. Toiletries were in nice sizes and interestingly fragrant. Lotion was fig, conditioner was geranium. I was there for a conference and all food was freshly prepared and flavorful. Also had a burger in the bar area which was very tasty as well. Overall I would highly recommend.

Unique hotel in middle of center city. Parking was a bit complicated, found overnight lot for $36 a block away. Quick check in with all requests honored. $10 mini bar credit as well. Kids hour when we arrived, candy bowls and board games. 5 o'clock wine happy hour was a wonderful start to the night! All staff were helpful, genuinely friendly, and gracious. King suite was a little tight, but roomy enough for our family of five. Kids loved the giant jacuzzi bath. Check out was super speedy also. Square restaurant was very accommodating and delicious for brunch. Awesome weekend at Palomar.

We drove for about 5 minutes and found street parking on a Saturday night around 9 PM 2 blocks from the hotel. The hotel is really nice, has a charm. The stairs to go upstairs are quite narrow. The room was also very small, or maybe the queen/king sized bed made it look smaller? Either way, nice hotel. Not sure if the price is worth it since we had stopped by to meet friends.

I stayed in the King Spa room and it blew my expectations away. The staff was very friendly and brought by complimentary champagne, chocolate covered strawberries and delicious chocolate cake. The location can't be beat either, right by great shopping and restaurants near Rittenhouse Square. I really can't speak highly enough of my experience. It was great value for the price and I will definitely be staying here again my next time in Philadelphia.

Wanted to give a shout out to the Palomar's hotel staff. Upon arrival valet was very welcoming and friendly. Upon check in we were immediately greeted by Matthew and complimentary champagne!! That was certainly welcome after our drive to Philadelphia. We asked for some interesting spots to visit in Philadelphia as new visitors and we chose to visit the Reading Terminal Market. You won't be let down if you're a foodie! We received a call that our room was ready on our walk back and upon arrival Sam, promptly delivered our bags to our room with a bright smile and asked us if we had any questions he could answer. Matthew, the front office Manager again reached out after check-in, later in the day to see if there was anything that we needed. Room was very clean and like the art deco feel.
Would definitely book again for the experience and fantastic location.

Thanks again!

Every aspect of this Hotel was pleasant, professional and amazingly different then any other I have ever experienced. The staff was courteous and attentive. The hotel is very clean and very well decorated and managed. If you are looking for an amazing place to stay and a staff just as good, you have to stay at the Palomar. Thank you Matthew and team, you guys made my first visit to Philly very enjoyable and I definitely will be coming back!
