Great location, large room with lovely balcony and pretty hotel. We did have some users that were addressed by an excellent staff member. Just seemed like perhaps they are having issues with hiring personal. We had 2 exceptional staff members at front desk check in and the day manager that should be noted.

Although the rooms and lobby are fine, this hotel had quite simply the worst service I’ve experienced in a Marriott hotel.

When I arrived at the hotel, a large group of people were complaining that the hotel had misplaced their bags, which was a foreboding start to the stay. Check-in took about 15 minutes (once I was already being assisted). The receptionist seemed confused by the process and was repeatedly typing numbers into a calculator, going to a back room, and returning to reception. This process took quite some time. Because she kept going back to this manual calculator, I explained that I had booked with points and she said “you have to do that when reserving.” I said I did. She said “as I said, you have to do that when reserving.” Eventually I was apparently sufficiently checked in. I asked for a mobile key. The receptionist said she did not know what that is, which is odd because the app clearly says mobile keys are available at this property. I asked about late checkout (which I usually get with my Marriott status) and the receptionist said it was unavailable without so much as checking her computer, and then said “checkout is at 12 but you should try to be checked out by 11” which I found quite unwelcoming.

When I got back to the room, I spent 20 minutes trying to order room service but the line was busy. I sent a message via the app asking if I had the number wrong. I didn’t receive a return message from the app until the next morning at 11am. But when I did finally get through to room service, they were friendly and pleasant, and the food was decent.

The following morning I called to ask about a late checkout, as the receptionist who checked me in seemed quite confused. The gentleman I spoke to said I could check out at 2pm. Then when I returned to the front desk after my key was deactivated, I was told there was no record of my late checkout request being granted. This (different) receptionist did not believe that I had spoken to one of her colleagues about a late checkout, and was frankly quite rude and accusatory about it. Overall my experiences with reception were quite negative.

Finally, the room was nicely decorated and comfortable, but the lighting was dim and depressing. AC worked well despite unusual heat.

Location is excellent.

All in all, I was extremely disappointed by the service at this property, which was worse than any of the numerous other Marriotts I’ve visited. I would not return.

Make sure to use Hᴏᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking any room. This site will compare thousands of booking websites and normally will have prices much cheaper compared to others! You're welcome :)! This place is the best rated in this area. I have been coming here for years. If you stay for a few nights you definitely won't regret it.

Excellent stay here. Bed was very comfortable. Room were clean and no bad smell. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast in the lounge was amazing with the view of Paris preserved building.

It is clean and the location is very nice nearby city center.
Rooms are spacious as bathroom too.
The negative is clearly the moody atmosphere of the hotel that needs a better design in lighting. Needs to be more cheerful and glowing especially around the area of the reception and other public halls.
Breakfast area need to be redesigned to find food and beverages. There is no flow.
I was standing and scratched my head where was the croissants hidden.
Also the lack of sleepers in the rooms needs attention.

Paris Marriott Opera Ambassador Hotel is a family-friendly hotel in the Paris Opera area. The staff is friendly and helpful. Walking distance to the metro station. Their website has children's activities listed. The gym is pretty small and hidden, but does have the basics.

I am extremely happy with my stay with this hotel. You can tell that the building has a lot of history and they have updated the rooms to offer all of the comforts we expect. The staff and concierge are very friendly and helpful. It was my first time visiting Paris and they gave me some insight on where to eat and what to visit.

The rooms have been more recently upgraded and very clean. My a/c worked very well in the +30 C temperatures we were experiencing. The location of the hotel is great. It is very close to a couple of underground stations giving you access to wherever you want to go. It is also a nice walk to the Louvre and river Seine. From the higher floors you have a nice view of the Eiffel Tower.

I would highly recommend this hotel if you are thinking about traveling to Paris.

Nice place for a night or two in Paris. Close to restaurants and the Metro. Nice view from the Executive Lounge. Room was comfortable with good climate control (a big plus in the summer).

This is a great property that has been around for a really long time. They really did a good job keeping the original feel to the building and the rooms were well appointed. The rooms that have an Eiffel tower view have wood floors and are very nice as well. The lounge is a nice space in the roof area and worth a visit while at the property. I would definitely stay here again.

Friendly staff and great location. However we our shower head was broken causing water to spit out onto the toilet area and onto the walls and ceiling . This made it very slippery and dangerous when using the bathroom after the shower had been used. We have now complained about this twice and still nothing has been done about it.

Staying for here three nights and am currently on my second night. The first night, they didn't realize that I was a Gold Marriott Rewards member but rectified it by giving me a room upgrade the next night. Customer service has been excellent so far. There's a view of the top half of the Eiffel Tower from the 8th floor Club Lounge, and the rooms are very nice too with a mini fridge and clean beds. We did not rent a car here so I can't speak for how much it would have cost. So far the weather has been fair, so I can't say much about the temperature of the rooms in hot weather either. Overall, I would stay here again.

10

Superb location, classy design. Would be even better if there was a pool/sauna, but this is rare even in luxury hotels in this area, so it's a fair trade-off. High calibre of service and comfort. Three elevators, so you don't have to wait. The staff give you a hand with whatever questions you have, with a smile, in French or English.

For my husband and I, one is platinum and another is a Platinum for Life member, this is the worst Marriott hotel we have ever stayed. The breakfast was bad. Croissant was worse then frozen food in the US.
After running the Paris marathon, we requested to clean the shower, no one showed up. We asked the hotel manager, no response . Next day, we asked again at the front desk, the on duty manager was very impatient about our inquiring, said he will find out “his side of the story “ and get back to us and disappeared before we finish our conversation. How rude.
I wonder how they can stay as a 4 star hotel. We will never come back again.

I rate this relative to other international Marriott`s I am familiar with. The bed and the linens have that great Marriott feel. The location is quite good. The room is cozy. There is scarce closet or drawer space. The concierge lounge is functional, but definitely not special. For business hotel expecially, I find it interesting that there is no click nor any USB ports.

7

Beautiful hotel in the heart of Paris. The staff is warm and professional, the rooms are comfortable and rather larger than others we've stayed at here in the city. Some might see some wear and tear and consider this hotel run down but we see it has a typical European charm that reminds you that you are in a very old and romantic city where emphasis is on living life and not worry about the wrinkles of time.

Rooms are attractive and surprisingly spacious for Paris. Walls are thin and hallways can be noisy. Courtyard rooms are likely quieter than “city view” facing the boulevard. Average breakfast spread. Nice free happy hour in the lounge. Staff is friendly.

Ate at the restaurant in the lobby and food was good. The setup is simple and staff is efficient. The options are limited for the scale of the restaurant but "daily special" makes the menu complete. Starters had a great taste and presentation. Main course you had decent options to choose from. Overall a good experience and we went as a group (in case you are planning a small team lunch or dinner). The food came with a lag so advised to have sometime with you if you visiting the restaurant. Overall a good experience and good place for dinner or lunch. Recommended!

My room was quiet (courtyard side), clean and functional. While the room itself was not very large, the bathroom was actually pretty generous. Wifi worked reliably, fast and without any portal login. I didn't have any interactions with staff except for checking in and out but on both occasions they were very friendly, professional and efficient.

Classic hotel with big corridors and rooms, the lobby and bar a bit impersonal compared with other Paris hotels. Breakfast is poor, beds and shower are great. Very conveniently located, would stay again.

IF eating at the bar (specially late at night) DO NOT order the (Marriott) cheeseburger. Ended up going to McDonalds for ‘quality’ food compared to that over priced cheeseburger.
Don’t know what excuse Marriott makes up to serve that piece of ....

Hotel rooms are small which is typical in Paris. They will make you wait during check in if you are not Gold or Platinum member.

Great location though...

The place to stay while in Paris. Excellent location next to the big stores and Metro stations also to the main attractions like the Opera and place de la Concorde. Very good breakfast restaurant but a little bit crowded at peak time. Staff could be more professional regarding their advice. Rooms are good size, quiet and clean.

Beautiful hotel, over 90 years old, but you wouldn't know it. The staff did seem frazzled the day we arrived. My husband is a Marriott gold member and they forgot to do several things they said they would do, which was disappointing. But it was Bastille day, so we weren't concerned.

Good location, close to shopping center, and walking distance of many tourists attraction. I got a room with courtyard widows. But I don't think any room gets a good view. You can barely see the Eiffel Tower from the club house. Room is a little smaller than regular Marriott, but this is Paris. I guess everything is small. Breakfast was decent.

The check in and in particular the check out took long. The rooms are really noisy, noise from the street and noise from the other rooms are present almost all the time. The beds are also not too comfortable. The scrambled egg for breakfast was prepared from egg powder. I still rate it two stars because the location is perfect.

Place is situated in a very convenient location. Staff were quite friendly and helpful too. The room was great and there was a 24hr gym, breakfast and all the bells and whistles you would expect from 4/5 star hotel. Only reservation would be that the bathroom shower was difficult to use. Love this hotel and its staff. Great location from which to start your Paris adventures. Concierge lounge provides a really nice place to start off with a good breakfast, although we heard the restaurant was extremely good as well and offered a lot more choice. We liked the price in the lounge too though (free).
