Perfect location for both sightseeing (heart of downtown, window views of Statehouse and other landmarks) and convenience (adjacent to a shopping mall w/ food court, restaurants etc.) and also easy parking and easy to get to... My single king bed room was great, well designed (especially the double layered desk and the plugs on the desk / table lights themselves). Beautiful lobby and gym, can't speak to the restaurants or bars as they were closed during Covid. Front desk service was great also. Highly recommend

For the price it is very expensive for a standard hotel, they don’t have a pool on site. Location was great, next to everything. The people were very loud during the night in the hallways.

We usually come here before the symphony. It is very busy then, but they usually accommodate us at the bar with no trouble. They have a great impossible burger and a terrific draft beer list. It is subdued lighting, and the place is very cozy.

Great place to stay. Conveniently located in central Providence. You have quick access to the shopping mall, quite a few restaurants and places to walk around.

Also, the staff is amazing and very welcoming.

Definitely 5 star experience, hence the 5 star review.

Loved the room. The most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. Must go to the restaurant as well. A wonderful atmosphere, great food and service. My friends and I had a wonderful time!

Stayed in a room on the main floor. Really fantastic layout and architecture. Can't beat the location. Stayed for a work event and there were some interesting decoration choices. Still a great experience!

Excellent service from everyone at the hotel. The room was inviting and the beds were oh so comfy. Elizabeth at the front desk gave us an excellent recommendation for dinner which turned out wonderfully. The only way it could have been better was for fairies to massage my feet as I slept. 🤩

Very nice building. Ballroom looked great. The food was very mediocre at best, the rice we had with dinner was downright bad. Service by the staff was great, lower rating all because the food was not good.

My favorite hotel in Providence. Unique rooms wonderful thoughtful and caring staff. The valets are the best! The food is great at Public the 24hour lounge is fantastic. I travel a lot and this is among my top five hotels ever.

Beautiful, modern hotel without the pretentious staff. Everyone from the valet to bar staff were so nice and accommodating. Our room was spacious and immaculate, sheets and pillows luxurious. An absolute wonderful stay. We can't wait to come back and explore more of Providence. Thank you Renaissance Providence 😀

The Renaissance is a 4-star hotel converted froma former masonic temple, and is located along the river and conveniently next to a large mall, the State House, and the downtown (Down City) restaurants and shops. Very professional staff and well-appointed rooms, though a consistent light/moderate level of noise from other rooms/hallway remained audible throughout our visit. Nothing at all that was a deal-breaker, and would gladly stay again for cleanliness and location alone.

Beautiful hotel and pleasant, helpful staff. The fitness center here is large, clean, offers free towels and has TV. Only flaw I found was that the room service prices are steep for small portions. There are plenty of places to eat in close proximity to the hotel, and the Providence Place mall has a food court.

We stayed here for unmemorable four nights. There was something wrong with our room key system and had to go down to the front desk at least five times to have the front desk to reprogram the key cards. I thought that they should have proactively requested maintenance to take a look at the key mechanism on the door the third time we went to reprogram our key cards. But, this is how the front desk people roll.

One front desk person finally had some sense to ask to have the maintenance look at the issues we were having with the door, but it was our last night and didn't really want to waste our time, too late; we declined.
Another time, front desk staff forgot to program the card for us to access the Club Lounge, so again we had to go down to get the key cards reprogrammed.
This is totally unacceptable for a well-known hotel like Renaissance to operate without a care.
Speaking of Club Lounge, why is it closed on weekends. Let us with status get up there to relax and enjoy freshly brewed coffees and other tiny selection of refreshments you have in the room. Don't you think we deserve it? I guess I'm just too used to staying at an international Renaissance Hotels in which the hotels serve almost full menu and full bar during dinner hours.

My wife and I were there for a short weekend visit to Providence. The entire staff from the moment we arrived to the moment we left were all fantastic... valet members, front desks, maitre d, bartender, room service, etc, all made our stay great. Our next visit to Providence will definitely include staying at this Renaissance.

My room was ready early (which was great since I had been up since 3:30am), and I had plenty of time to relax before going out and about. The location is great because the hotel is within walking distance of the mall and restaurants. The room was clean and service was superb. I will stay here again for sure. Oh, and side note...the Patriots plane is at the airport. Couldn't resist a pic.

The rooms/bathrooms were clean and the rooms are quiet. There a safes in the room which is always a plus. Maids did a good job and the bar is good. Didn't eat there, so I can't comment on the food. We have stayed here a few times for our daughters cheer competitions and never have a complaint.

Hard to imagine a better stay. Although we did receive a generous upgrade due to it being their slow season, I think we would have enjoyed this sumptuous, architecturally unique hotel even with a standard room. The check-in process was fast and efficient, and I highly recommend their restaurant downstairs, especially the cozy, quiet bar area. The hotel's location is perfect, especially when you arrive by train and just need to walk a couple blocks.

Really loved the art everywhere! We were there around thanksgiving and they had just put up the Christmas tree in the front lobby. It was really gorgeous. The breakfast every morning was delicious and the service was excellent. Definitely a great place to stay if you are visiting providence. Everything is walkable from this location.

This is the first time we had stayed at this hotel and we were generally impressed. The staff across the board could not have been more pleasant and helpful. Our room was comfortable and well equipped. The only reason we gave 4 instead of 5 stars was the bedding. The bed itself was very comfortable, but the mattress protector did not wrap under the mattress and only had thin straps to hold it. They did not hold and resulted in bunched up material. The bottom sheet was thin and rough - not quality material. We had room service for one meal and breakfast in the dining room - both excellent.

From the outside this place looks magnificent. Unfortunately it stops there with horrible valet service. These guys are literally running up and down the street and it can take upwards of 20minutes to get your car. Not the valets fault this is the hotels fault. Inside the entry and check it I would describe it as average. Nothing catches your eye it's just blah. Of course an elevator was down during my stay. The room was nice and had a good layout. Can't say I had a good view. The room I stayed in was one of the first few right off the elevator next to a maintenance room. There is a sharp corner of the building where the rooms just look out right into the other side of the building roughly 20ft away. So I got the enjoy looking at that. If I pressed my face against the windows I was able to see the massive parking garage for the mall next block down. The mattress was nice but the sheets were terrible. The duvet cover is extra loose and doesn't close so after a few turns in your sleep the comforter is out of the duvet and your covered in a big mess of sheets. Pillows were quite nice I really liked them. Bathroom had nice sink with plenty of room for everything you would use at home. The mirror had an anti fogging feature and it worked great after taking a hot shower. The shower however was the worst shower I can remember using in a hotel. The curtain was on an arc screwed into the walls. The screws were lose causing this arc to droop down from the weight of this heavy shower curtain or someone pulling to hard. Now the curtain won't stay up on either side of the rod because it's falling into the center of this arc. Not to mention pressure to the shower was non existent. This was a total bummer because my last hotel I stayed at in DC had an amazing shower. Other thing to add is that the hallways are loud during the day. The housekeepers are yelling in Spanish up and down the halls. Doesn't really bother me but it might bother you. Last night there I went the hotel bar restaurant called Public. It was far better than expected. Wish I went 2 days earlier I would have spent more money. The bartender was fantastic I would recommend the Gin Fresco. It was amazing! Dinner was also great I had a braised lamb with red sauce. Appetizers were calamari and spicy noodles. The apps were dynamite and seafood was cooked perfect. I also have to add this was on a Sunday night around 9pm. Place was like a dead zone. The waiter was very nice and knowlegable. I have to recommend this place to everyone. Even if you don't stay at the hotel check out Public. They only have 2 televisions at the bar I really wish they had 2 more. That's the only complaint I have about the place it was a very pleasant surprise. Overall the Renaissance in my opinion is 2.5 stars. But I'm giving 3 instead of 2 because the restaurant was so so good and the location of the hotel is very convenient.

It's a wonderful hotel property, however the attitude of the employees is clearly reflected on the managers because they treat their employees like trash. However many have already stated this.. management needs some serious improvement. My girlfriend or I, will defiantly not be back.

This is a wonderful hotel in all aspects EXCEPT parking which is $36 a night with only valet service. You could park at the "nearby" mall but if you happen to have physical limitations (or happen to be a 100% disabled veteran) you are out of luck. There are no allowances for those with handicapped parking privileges despite the fact that Rhode Island doesn't charge for public disabled parking. Anything for a buck. So much for gratitude for service to your country or allowances for the disabled.

Beautiful hotel, great location only 2 min walk from House of State and Providence Place. Manager Keith was phenomenal and really made our trip an enjoyable and memorable one. Would love to stay here again while visiting this beautiful historic city. The room was clean and enjoyable, the bathroom doors are an odity though. Fitness room was perfection and the amenities in general were exceptional.

I have to start with we checked in late with a company group and found the sheets were in really bad shape and no shampoo so after asking the desk in morning the changed the sheets and brought us shampoo but the sheets are all pillie so the manager came I showed her the sheets and she said we are at the point of replacement ( some even had holes where to thin) then the room got warm turned on the fan and ac was knocking they came to fix that and by midnight the answer after they couldn’t get it to work was they got us a fan. So I took sheets of one bed to make one good bed to sleep in next to my fan
But I guess u still have nice staff

I spent my time in the ballroom which was very well organized for the prom I attended. The space worked well for the event. The only downsides were that the elevators to leave and the valets did not have the capacity to get everybody out quickly, however the staff did their best and worked as fast as possible. Overall an enjoyable evening in a great space.

This hotel is excellently located for sightseeing - right next to the State House, and a short walk from the river and Brown University. There's a big mall with a lot of restaurants nearby as well. As far as hotels go, it's pretty standard. We have the most basic room with an unexciting view of the front driveway. The hotel is clean and provides all the usual amenities, including complimentary standard speed WiFi. The staff is polite and professional. My one complaint is the shower, which has barely enough water coming out for a good wash, and whose water pressure seems very subject to other guests' water usage. Would definitely stay here again, although next time we're in Providence we may opt to try out a different hotel in the area.

Great view of the state house from our room, we even saw part of a parade from our window. Everything was very clean, beds were comfortable except I'm not a fan of feather pillows. Excellent hotel set inside an old Masonic building. The rooms are all laid out a little odd (closet leading into the bathroom) but this is probably due to the fact the building is so old. Beds are very comfortable, water pressure in the shower is average, but the toiletry products are great.

Excellent customer service (especially Elizabeth) and a great view of the state capital from most of the rooms.

The workout facility is fantastic compared to the usual but the biggest shortcoming is the lack of pool (doesn't bother me but some would prefer to have something along those lines).

Where to begin.. I travel weekly for work and have to say this is one of my favorite hotels. The staff is excellent offering exceptional service throughout, from the Valet Attendants upon arrival to the Front Desk Staff at check-in. I have always been greeted with smiles and they make a point to truly accommodate and make each guest feel special. I have had the pleasure of working with Macy on many occasions and she always goes the extra mile to ensure everything is to your liking and you are completely satisfied. These days service like that is hard to find in my opinion. This makes a huge difference in my opinion.

As for the hotel and condition, a few of my favorite things are the updated showers & bathrooms, the club room, the suites are very nice, the gym will get it done, the beds are extremely comfortable and the views are simply outstanding. Lastly, there is a restaurant & bar within the hotel that I really enjoy that offers the same great service all with excellent cuisine and cocktails.

We visit Providence every year. This year we decided to stay at the Omni because of the convenience of the convention center and the mall. The hotel is beautiful and the rooms are 5 star. It's was pricey compared to other hotels but the close proximity to everything made it worth the extra money. We did not have an opportunity to eat at the hotel so I can't rate the food or food service.

Stayed at the renaissance for a wedding and had a great stay! The room was gorgeous, clean, and comfortable! Unfortunately the water temperature in the shower was inconsistent. I could not find a comfortable temp and it kept changing from scalding hot to lukewarm. Other than that, it was great!

The room and staff were fabulous. Be advised that off-site parking ($3 less than valet) is at the mall, down the hill and around the corner from the hoyel, so it may be worth it to just pay the extra for valet. Nice views of the Capitol and centrally located.

I stayed here for one night and had a few minor gripes but overall a good experience:

1. The doors in my room were not very good and hard to open. Also, they cannot be locked which is strange because locks on bathroom doors are a bit important.
2. They had a messup while checking out where they did not list us as having been in our room and wasted around 20 minutes of our time.
3. The lobby has a cloying, sweet odor that I do not like that much.

I truly understand that this hotel has everything to make a guest comfortable but one thing the valet staffs don't realise there a taxi stand for the guests by the hotel, rather they call their prefered cabs and collect $5-10 for every ride,
instead of using the cabs available. This truly need to be looked closely into, and the management put a stop to their shaddy deals.

Thank you.

Stayed at this hotel on 3 different occasions and each time was the same awesome room. Had a queen bed looking directly at the Capitol. Very clean and the bed is super comfy. Love that the closet is accessible from the hallway and from inside the bathroom. Makes it easier to get ready. The staff is always friendly and very helpful. Excellent Location, Pleasant Staff, Comfortable Spacious Room
This Renaissance Hotel is a historic building right next to the State House and very close to the Providence Place Mall with many shops and restaurants. Steve checked us in early with a big smile and gave us a spacious room on the top floor with a pretty nice view. Although it's a historic building, the interior décor were well finished and updated. Our room has two nice size arm chairs, an ottoman, and a very nice working area with a quality extendable desk and a super comfy high back chair. The room had many updated amenities such as safe, fridge, coffee maker and large LCD TV. Comfy King sized bed gave us a very good quality of sleep. The bathroom was huge, beautiful and spotless clean with nice toiletry items (Aveda). In room Wi-Fi charges a fee but free in the public area. There were many nice seating areas around the beautiful lobby.
Plenty of "help yourself" apples at check in counter and refreshing local lemonade were served in the afternoon that was a nice touch.
We walked to the State House and beautiful Providence Riverwalk. We missed the Waterfire (visit official website for schedule), but still enjoyed the scenery very much. Providence is a charming city and this Renaissance Providence Hotel is within easy walking distance to many attractions. We definitely would recommend this hotel as a great place to stay when visiting the city.
Stayed October 2013, traveled as a couple
