Green Key Eco-Rating Program 3

With more than 1,200 hotels certified in Canada since its inception in the 1990s, the Green Key Eco-Rating Program awards hotels an environmental rating of one to five Green Keys. Green Key members are then given guidance on how to "unlock" opportunities to reduce operating costs and environmental impacts - and in turn earn more keys.

The Green Key audit looks at nine major areas of sustainable hotel operations:
• Energy conservation
• Water conservation
• Solid waste management
• Hazardous waste management
• Indoor air quality
• Community outreach
• Building infrastructure
• Land use
• Environmental management

Fantastic location, wonderful hospitality, clean, bright rooms, and very well set up for families. Ted and Ken will take very good care of you and have lots of sight-seeing advice. Close to grocery stores so you can take advantage of the kitchen. A wide range of dining options nearby. Walking distance to the beach and shopping on Robson St. Pay-per- day off street parking is a huge bonus if you have a rental car.

Spent the long weekend in May. The hotel and room were wonderful, quiet, clean and roomy. The neighbourhood was beautiful and so safe. The location, next to Stanley Park and Robson Street meant everything was close and easy to do. The staff at the hotel could not have been more helpful and pleasant. I plan to return this fall and enjoy the comforts and location again.

The location of the Rosellen is unbeatable, nestled in the quaint part of the West End and steps away from Stanley Park. Close to all shopping amenities, coffee shops and restaurants. No need for the car on my stay. Ken Chan the Operations Manager offered outstanding service, was super friendly and very accomodating. Self check in after hours but the instructions were thorough and everything went seamlessly. The lobby is super funky and over all they have taken an older style apartment building and turned into a really cool place. The apartment style room was fantastic and kitchen was very well equipped. A complimentary basket not only had coffee and tea but popcorn and few other goodies which was perfect for a late night movie. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and will definately be back again. This not a super luxury type place so consider my rating. It had everything I needed and was clean and comfortable and I travel a lot so I'm not always so generous. I am rating it 5 stars because for the price, location and comfort of stay - it hit all the marks. Well done staff at the Rosellen

Quick disclosure, if you arrive after normal business hours there is a bit of a weird (but we found it kind of fun) process to getting in, unlocking the key box and entering the room. These are more apartments than hotel rooms which would accommodate a longer term guest even better than most hotels as you even have a kitchen! The owner is very helpful in making sure you have an awesome trip and never once failed to wish us a friendly hello and a quick tip for whatever we had planned for the day. Not as luxurious as a beautiful hotel perhaps, but for an extended stay I'd highly recommend the Rosellen any day!

Feels like home, very nice suites, clean and spacious. First time staying at Rosellen suites, my wife and I are very pleased with the whole experience. We decided to stay an extra night. There was even fresh flowers on the table. Beautiful. - Travis Winter

Amazon location. Spacious rooms. Art decor lobby and entrance very nice (not tacky). Best value for the area. The offsite pool is a very dated community centre pool that is rather ugly, but the other accommodations in this area do not even offer that so I am not docking a star for that so much as I would have given 5 stars if it was nicer.

Hotel is very dated, but that adds to the charm. Original elevator (must be 80 years old). Suites are very large. Fireplaces and kitchens.

We chose Rosellen due to its location to Stanley Park. The room we received was a little dated but it was still clean and comfortable. The price seemed to be of tremendous value to us given the main stream hotels were 2-3x what we paid for this. The staff who met us in the lobby was very courteous and accommodating. I would stay here again in a heart beat...they even throw in a gym membership while you're here!!!

Hotel is very quaint and enjoyable. It's conveniently located next to Stanley park and its easy to walk anywhere downtown. Tag is a very knowledgeable and helpful concierge. My wife and I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in Vancouver.

The room was very spacious and clean. The appliances and fixtures were old and outdated, but it was pleasantly fun. Parking spaces inside were quite tight but management was very kind and extremely helpful in all aspects. Excellent location literally half a block from Stanley Park.

2 bed 2 bath suite worked great for our extended family of 7 for our 2 night stay. We walked to Stanley Park and were able to walk to the grocery store, as well. It was nice to have a kitchen. Definitely would stay here again.

Well appointed and comfortable, with helpful staff. The location was awesome, being located next to Stanley Park, and within a couple of blocks of great walkable shopping areas (Robson St., West End).

Had a nice stay for three nights. After being on a long road trip for over 4 weeks, Rosellen was a nice change from chain hotels. We had a lovely 2 bedroom suite with a kitchen and dining area. It was very clean and well furnished, also close to Stanley Park and many restaurants. Thanks to the manager Kent, who was very helpful and hospitable during our stay. We would definitely stay at Rosellen again in the future.

Old and tired building. Electrical outlets not secured in walls properly even though they don't work in the first place. Kitchen suite is basic as possible. Bring a knife sharpener if you wish to cut more than cheese. You need to be creative to keep the doors covering the tv open so you can watch it. A garbage container under the sink that actually fit the door would be a plus. The couch is probably the 3rd most uncomfortable on the planet. It's basically camping in Vancouver. The only good part is the mattress on the bed and distance to amenities. All the negatives add up to not worth the money unless you absolutely need a suite with a very small basic kitchen. Even getting your belongings to your room is going to be a fun time.

I wasn't expecting much, as this was a last minute booking and we needed room for 3 with privacy...At a low price. So we got a one bedroom place and planned to have our friend sleep on the sofa bed. This place surprised us by upgrading our room to a large 2-bedroom suite! Plus the staff are friendly. I would recommend buying parking, as parking in this area is quite difficult and everything requires a permit.

The rooms provided had exelent quality with my biggest complaint being the underground parking, there was next to no space and the entrance is difficult to get into

Misleading reviews and website full of fairy tales. Don't let the website or marketing pics tell you this place is anything but an old and tired, cheaply refurbished place. For $320/night I was expecting a bit more than a dry roof over my head, but that's about what we got. It's far from any transport links, decent places to have a breakfast and the pool access is not anywhere near the building. My first reaction was to turn around and flee, unfortunately everything else in town was full.

Staying presently at the hotel with my husband and three kids. Our experience so far has been remarkable. The hotel itself is very well located, within walking distance from the beach, restaurants and even Stanley park. Rooms are large, well decorated and clean. The staff, especially Kent and Dianne are very warm and extremely helpful in every way. I would highly recommend this hotel to all my friends and family. Checking out tomorrow and very sad to be leaving.
