Green Key Eco-Rating Program 3

With more than 1,200 hotels certified in Canada since its inception in the 1990s, the Green Key Eco-Rating Program awards hotels an environmental rating of one to five Green Keys. Green Key members are then given guidance on how to "unlock" opportunities to reduce operating costs and environmental impacts - and in turn earn more keys.

The Green Key audit looks at nine major areas of sustainable hotel operations:
• Energy conservation
• Water conservation
• Solid waste management
• Hazardous waste management
• Indoor air quality
• Community outreach
• Building infrastructure
• Land use
• Environmental management

Awesome full apt style suites including in room washer/dryer. The view is spectacular

It was nice to have a separate bedroom and living room and the kitchen had everything we needed. Bathroom was a bit small as was the bedroom, especially with kids. But it's all manageable and clean and the view with balcony was rather welcome. There wasn't much help parking or moving luggage (which is mostly okay, given the difficulty with Covid). Overall, this is more similar to a short stay apartment than to a resort, which is to be expected. You're here for the West End and downtown bustle and proximity to English Bay, Downtown, and Granville Island among other things.

The hotel is in a great area with plenty of food, shopping and sightseeing within walking distance. The room was equipped with a full kitchen and a washer/dryer combo. If it wasn't for the terrible cleaning job I'd have given it a 4 star rating. The bathroom door handle was covered in getting and dust. Clearly they are not using the enhanced cleaning protocols they claim to be. This is very important. Especially on high touch areas. Very disappointed.

If your favourite colour is brown you'll love the decor. It is basically an apartment done basically. It's fairly central in a gay friendly neighbourhood, that's quite nice to walk around in, and of itself. There's a buzz about the area. Seems hip. There's a great supermarket nearby so don't worry about supplies.

We were upgraded to the penthouse suite (complimentary). Great service from the front desk, very clean room as well. The ocean view was incredible. Not much to say but definitely recommend. Lots of places to eat nearby and out escapes the busy downtown roads somewhat.

This hotel was awesome. Great location. Friendly service and clean room! Amazing views from the 17th floor. First time in Vancouver. Was just amazed. The sunset from the balcony was just breathtaking. Comfortable bed. Close to English Bay Beach. There was a concert at the beach - added bonus. Tons of food options. Overall, would recommend this place.

Thank you to Alex who checked us in. She was so helpful and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome.

Great location, very close to Stanley park, Granville island and English bay. There are many restaurants and shops near by. The small kitchen in the room has everything, oven, stove, microwave, toaster, kitchenware, etc. We made big breakfast almost everyday. There's a very good bakery and a grocery store right next to the hotel. We are a family with 1 teenage boy, so the separated bedroom and the pull out sofa bed are big plus. My only criticisms are the sofa is not very clean and the bathroom is a bit small. Over all we enjoyed the stay and will definitely consider staying here when we visit our family next time.

The room was very clean and had a full kitchenette which was nice. The a/c was only in the bedroom and did not cool the entire suite although opening the patio door did cool the suite considering it the temperature was cooler the 3 nights we spent here.

There was only a heated outdoor swimming pool with lounging chairs around it but there were 24 floors of the hotel room balconies overlooking the pool area. The change room was well kept and also had a steam room which needed some minor repairs but was in good working condition.

Parking was an additional $17/day but it could only be accessed with your room key so it was somewhat secure. With all this said I would definitely stay at this hotel again without a second thought. Very nice size room for your money.

Beautiful penthouse suite with a view of the city. The room was well stocked but curiously missing a bureau or dresser to put your clothing into, the only option was to hang clothes in closet. The hot tub was wonderful but extremely loud.

Clean and comfortable suite, separate bedroom. Bathroom was in the front -- interesting place to have it.
Loved having a washer/dryer unit in room as well as a full sized refrigerator. Location was in the multi-colored area --- did not know that when we booked. No problem really

Old hotel, needs some upgrade on soundproofing walls. The pool is nice, but needs to be cleaned more often. Other than that, the service is good and the location excellent.
I do recommend it.

Great location in a very walkable area. Just steps from a great assortment of restaurants, produce markets, and convenience stores. This was a really fun neighborhood.

It was also really nice to have a separate bedroom for naps when traveling with a toddler. The washing machine and dryer came in handy. Very well stocked kitchen.

The balcony was a little frightening with a toddler but we just blocked the access off and didn't go outside.

It is a short walk down the hill to a ferry to Granville Island.

Located on the very eclectic Davie Street, this hotel is a great option for anyone visiting Vancouver. Lots of great restaurants and bars without walking distance. BC place and Rogers Arena are only a short 20 minute walk, or 5 minute cab ride. There is a moxies located on the main floor. Found all the staff to be extremely kind and helpful. Highly recommended.

Visited friends who were staying at the hotel and was impressed by the view overlooking Davie Street and English Bay. Was very beautiful at sunset. Room was a decent size for two and four easily enjoyed more than a few drinks. Updated kitchen and decent bathroom give adequate amenities. Great location close to bars and birds eye view of the Pride festivities all weekend long! Parking available in sufficient quantities.

On March 1st me and my partner stayed at this hotel. Good things: it's clean, it was really clean.
Bad things: the rooms are freezing, our suite had the smallest radiotor in the world. The air conditioning in the bedroom was really loud and disturbing. The towels didn't have a pleasant fragrance to them. The shampoo and conditioner provided were not enough for two guests. And all this for $140 Canadian a night ($160 after taxes). In my opinion this was too much. I've stayed at motels in Vancouver for $85/night with the same above mentioned standards.

We stayed in the penthouse. The room was super comfortable and i loved that there was a little kitchen and a giant spa tub. We stayed here two different times and both times we were greeted with awesome staff. Keep up the good work! We will be back!

Went to the PHresh spa at the hotel and was very impressed. Had a lovely infrared sauna and an awesome facial from Amelia who was very caring and accommodating. My skin is better than after any other spa I have visited and will defiantly be returning. If you are traveling or just live in the neighbourhood and want to treat yourself. This is the only place to go! Very clean and reasonably priced!!

Professional service with courtesy and tact. Always good value. Hotel is old and you can spot the wear if you look hard enough. However the location and available amazing views of English-Bay more than compensate. Located in the heart of Davie Village, surrounded by many varied restaurants, this is a great spot to explore Vancouver's West-End from.

Great hotel. Fair sized rooms for 1 or 2 people. Good service. Don't use the washer/dryer if you haven't got 6 hours grace period for drying and a whole bunch of patience waiting for the lock on the machine to release your clothes to you.

Pros: Good location with lots of food and activities on Davie Street. Rooms include full kitchen and laundry. Fairly well maintained and clean.

Cons: Club nearby and people can get on weekends.

Overall good value for money when specials are available. Breakfast not included but lots of Starbucks and bakeries right below hotel.

This is hotel has a lot going for it and a lot working against it.
The bed was comfortable and the shower was excellent. However, the room was worn down and it took a long time to clear the steam from the shower. There was a lot of space available for parking underground and it is in the heart of the city.
The worst part by far though was the customer service. The concierge was dismissive and uninterested, borderline rude. I would not recommend this hotel or return to it based on this alone. He was unwilling to call a cab because it was “busy” and sent us outside to wait at night. Later, he was unable to provide us with toothbrushes or other bathroom amenities, suggesting we try across the street before remembering it was already closed. He then suggested we wait till the next morning to buy some. I’ve never been to a hotel, not even a 3 star hotel which this claims to be, that was unable to provide basic bathroom amenities.

Courteous, efficient and helpful staff. Spacious, clean rooms. An all-in-one washer/dryer in the suite. Fruit basket a nice touch.

Coffee pot dribbles when filling the machine and when filling the cup. Poor design, makes a mess everywhere, everytime. Also, kitchenette needs extreme basics like salt and pepper, dish soap, etc.

Vancouver you were amazing to me! This hotel made my experience so amazing. Great staff and beautiful places. I had a breathtaking balcony view. Would go again with friends or family for sure! You are in a heart of a very great place in Vancouver! Good rates for this hotel.

The staff is very helpful. The rooms are very clean. It's very nice having a washer and dryer in the room. Oh and a dishwasher! The pull out couch bed is too small though. The room keys of the reader can be finicky in the elevator. If you don't commit right you may miss your stop on your floor. That is frustrating. Travelling with thee family it sure is nice to have a suite set up with fridge, microwave, 2 TVs and large refrigerator. The location is amazing! Grocery shopping, 24 hour pharmacy, fresh local produce and fresh seafood, variety of international food restaurants, and convenience stores all within a block radius !!! Beaches are close by. I recommend the place !!

Most of the front desk staff made us feel as though we were A burden right from the get go. It seemed as though only the newer younger staff were the most polite and helpful. Even when I approached the front desk to confirm the check out time it took several minutes for the gentleman to look up from his computer and acknowledge me. Check out was at 12 noon and at 10:30 A house keeping staff member was knocking on our door even though the "Do not do disturb" sign was hung on the door knob. Not my idea of A visitor friendly place like A hotel should be.

Location bumps this hotel up from 3 stars to 4 stars!

All of the rooms are a quite outdated, but they are all suites, so you can't really go wrong.

That being said, a lot of the suites are quite small, and if your planning to have a few guests for drinks before a night out 6 people would be pushing it, and 8 would almost certainly feel very cramped.

Front desk service is always quick, and they resolve any concerns quite quickly. Have always asked for a upgrade though, and they never give me one for free -- they'll make you pay the difference in price here!!

The location is superb. Right on the Davie strip in my beloved West End. Everything you would need or want is right within walking distance of the hotel. No need to bring a car. The staff is great! The suite is clean and has everything you would need and you could grocery shop and make meals yourself. Ensuite laundry. From the 21st floor balcony, you have a fantastic view of English Bay (great for the fireworks). The pool and fitness centre make it that much better. The only comment would be that it might be time to renovate the suites in order to make it a 5 star experience.

Great hotel in an amazing downtown neighbourhood. All rooms have fully equipped kitchens and balconies. The ocean view is priceless. Parking is an underground garage, but very tight spots. Staff friendly and rooms clean. Starting to show some age but still acceptable. Prices are very high in summer but still cheapest of all decent hotels. Would stay again.

Rooms are certainly dated as others have said, but as far as being pet friendly this hotel is great. The staff love dogs and are very accommodating of you bringing your furry friend along on vacation with you. Unlike most hotels, the pet friendly rooms are kept as nice as normal rooms!

It's not a fancy hotel, the rooms are dated but the location is awesome. Great little fitness center with some free-weights and machines. Nice pool and sunning area and the sauna was an excellent touch. The beds are softer than I usually experience at hotels. Ocean view rooms are great if you're on the upper floors but any room has a balcony with a decent view.

Room was beautiful and had an amazing veiw. Got it for a great price but still in a great location. Pool was clean, not freezing cold, and had great sun bathing spots. Never visited the bar/restaurant, spa, or on sit hair cutting service. Would recommend for a weekend getaway.

The hotel is in a good location, pretty close to downtown. The rooms were fairly large; with kitchenette, living room and bedroom in a separate room. The room however is showing its age. There is free wifi, a fitness room and a balcony. Overall it was a great deal for the price we got the room for.

Staff and lobby where very nice, the suite with kitchenette on the 5th floor was really dated, directly out of the 70s, AC was from the same era and also dirty. Bathtub with damage and poorly made repairs, rug and floors in the same state as the bath. Kitchen was barely equipped, fridge a joke. Tvs where another joke small and dated, cable selection not even on par with the rest. Absolutely no sound isolation, you could hear other people and the massive air conditioning on the lower roof.
Restaurant was very nice, staff friendly and food was very good. Overall hotel building needs an overhaul to bring it out of the 70s cleaning staff although friendly, doesn't seem to care, probably because of the degree of decay on the rooms. Definitely a 3 star hotel, on some areas dropping to 2. Restaurant a very good 4 stars grill.

So far, I have to say that the place seems fairly disorganized. The rooms are nice enough. I have no complaints with that. However I had booked an extra night under my name for a reservation that I'm sharing with a friend of mine, and they never managed to put my name into the reservation system. And then now that I have arrived, they don't have the room ready that they said they would.

I'm staying here for five days. I love the suites; it's like having your own little home in the middle of Vancouver. And the views are crazy beautiful on the higher floors. The staff has been great too. I'll be back to Vancouver because it's so wonderful and I will stay here because of the convenience, the suite setup and the people.
