The Newbury Boston Hotel

1 Newbury Street, Boston, MA 02116, United States Access

The Newbury Boston Hotel

The Newbury Boston is located in the citys elegant and vibrant Back Bay. Originally opened in 1927 as one of the first Ritz-Carlton hotels in the United States, this iconic Boston landmark will reopen in Fall 2020. The property will be re-imagined with a thoughtful new floor plan, dramatic public spaces, 286 redesigned guestrooms (including 90 suites), stunning event spaces and new food and beverage experiences, including a rooftop restaurant, a library lounge exclusively available to hotel guests and the restoration of the beloved Street Bar. Residential in feel, each of the guest rooms and suites will incorporate a calming color palette, richly textured furnishings and original artwork, along with amenities exclusively curated for guests. The Newbury Boston will offer 16,000 square feet of dramatic and flexible event spaces that have been updated with modern functionality, providing an ideal setting for meetings and celebrations overlooking The Public Garden.

The location is in the heart of Boston and the citys most elegant and vibrant neighborhood alongside The Charles River and directly across from the Boston Public Garden which is the first public garden in the country. Many of the citys best luxuriant shops and high-end restaurants are clustered in this picturesque neighborhood. The Back Bay is an affluent neighborhood with a mid-19th to late-20th century Victorian architecture.

My wife and I stayed here about a month ago for our Anniversary. It was great. The staff were super helpful and friendly, we had a nice view of the park from the room, it was the perfect location to walk around and explore Boston.

The hotel itself is very nice .. rooms are very clean and tidy ... Booked a room overlooking the park which was a great scene.. the location is very comfortable as it's on the corner of Newbury street a great shopping district and close enough to malls. One thing stands in this hotel which is the poor staff engagement and service.. the reception staff are not friendly nor welcoming and reception is having long queues especially if you are there during check-in or our times .. they only have two desks available .. the room is missing alot of basic amenities and you have to call them to get it and not refill unless you call a couple of times.. looking at the 7 days I stayed there and the value for money I for sure will not rank them in a top tier hotel or 5 stars .. they have a long way in retrain their employees to how represent a true 5 stars hotel .. not the best experience due to people .. this comment is shred by a number of guests in their reviews and I think nothing happened..

The rooms are not as nice as one would expect with this price point. The location is fantastic and the street bar is a nice place to spend the evening. However, we felt the prices did not match the quality of rooms and food. The lobby and gym is very nice.

We have stayed at the former property at this site a couple of times in the past. While we didn't try the Newbury out this visit, I did take the opportunity to check out the newly renovated property. The lobby area came out great. (as I'm sure the rooms did as well) The whole area looks nice and clean. The lobby bar, which is one of my favorite places in Boston to have a sophisticated drink or bite to eat, came out great, too. In any event, we'll definitely have to stay here again under the new flag. In my opinion, this is the best location to stay at in all of Boston.

I had a great stay at this hotel! The service inside was so lovely! Room service was great and relatively quick (30 minutes or less). The room smelled great! Only reason I'm giving it 4 stars is that the staff by the door were terrible. They ignored me every time I walked out or in. After checking out, I had to drag my luggage down the steps to the car while 3 of the staff stood around chatting. Only one tried to help me (as soon as he was done helping someone else) but by then it was too late. I was not expecting such a terrible last impression on what otherwise was a great stay.
