I'm not sure how to approach this due to Covid. Price of one night room begs for amenities. This place fell very short. Had to buy a small bag of ice and water. There were zero cups to drink from in the room and it took two phone calls and 30 plus minutes to get cups. I checked in at 9:00 P.M. and left at Noon the following day. Never witness one person outside of employees.

Beautiful hotel in downtown Minneapolis! Staff is amazing and work with you. Great space for social distancing in the lounge. Room was nice and clean when I arrived.

Excellent service with professional and pleasant staff.

Spacious room and comfortable bed.

Lots of complimentary items available by request(like makeup wipes, etc.).

The only issue is the construction. It wasn’t noisy at all when I stayed during the weekend. It just has a construction smell mixed with an old building smell. But inside the room was fine.

This hotel was nothing but wonderful! The staff was so nice, even on the phone!! They checked in with me by texting how everything was! I’ve never had any hotel guest services do that before! We were given complimentary wine when we arrived too! The room was gorgeous, my husband and I loved the rustic “lodge” decor. Parking was easy and it was so close to everything. We will be back here!

Had a great stay! The room I had was very large and beautifully appointed, even had a TV in the bathtub! But the best part about the hotel is the staff. Wonderful front desk, bar and the concierge, especially. He dropped what he was doing to try and find me an umbrella so I could go out for dinner. Even the restaurants they recommend delicious!

Stayed two nights. Ashley and the front desk staff truly went above and beyond to make our stay amazing. The room was clean and spacious, the bathroom was very nice as well. We'll definitely be back next time we're in Minneapolis.

We loved our stay at the Grand Hotel! The room was incredible and the staff were exceptional. Jason helped make our reservation and check us in. He was so professional and helped everything go smoothly. At our arrival he made us feel very welcome and answered all of our questions with skill and enthusiasm!

Great location, wonderful rooms, & huge bathrooms, but the staff is what took this from a 4 star to a 5 star. Chris and Jason greeted us during "wine hour", gave us the perfect dining recommendation (Mercury) and where to hit the town. Then on our way up to our room Tim and Joan topped off our wine and asked how our trip was. What a great Minnesota welcome for a couple of first timers. Thanks all!

Was in town for business and booked here for my stay. Kimpton is a great brand and they lived up to the expectations.

Rooms were fashionably laid out with a nice 60in TV, huge mirrorv and plenty of drawers if you're planning to stay while. Bed was very comfortable with soft linens. Bathrooms were big, with a tub and really nice products.

The only negatives were that we couldn't take any products home as they are locked and the shower leaked from the door. Other than that I will be back.

The hotel was nicely updated but still had roots that came from the past which was very nice to see. We enjoyed our stay a lot. The room was very nice and spacious and the bed was great! The staff were also very helpful and kind.

Very nice hotel. Enjoyed our weekend stay here. Comfy, and well appointed rooms. Very comfortable king bed, but felt the pillows were just too flat. Location is decent, and you can take the skywalk anywhere if so desired.

Very friendly staff, and many amenities. I didn't take advantage of nearly as many as I could have (the gym, tastings, happy hour, etc). Everything was very clean in my room. I will be staying here when I come back.

First rate experience. Front desk staff were very friendly, polite, and courteous. Everything was in order for our room when we arrived--even three fresh white roses and a bottle of champagne. The room was clean and tidy. Everything worked well though we had to turn the thermostat from Auto to off otherwise it blew cold air when we wanted it to be warm. Breakfast was delicious and they were very accommodating for gluten free diets. Very timely food delivery. We also ate at their Six15 Room lounge for dinner. Delicious menu with several gluten free options to choose from. It's connected to the skyway so we had no problem exploring the city and staying warm in December.

My fiance and I stayed at the Grand Hotel for three nights in December, in a premier king room. The staff, both at the front desk and room service, were very helpful and friendly. Rooms were well appointed, with the 'upgraded bathroom' being a real treat! The common areas and rooms were kept very clean. The food we had from room service was 'okay' and definitely not reflective of the price but that is my only real complaint. Overall, an excellent stay.

I was so impressed with the friendliness of the staff! The hotel allows dogs and doesn't treat them like a burden or nuisance. This is the only nice hotel I've been to that even allows dogs. The room was very nice, the bed was comfy, and the hotel had an overall class. Parking nearby was really inexpensive and convenient. I would love to stay there again.

We had the best experience you can possibly imagine! I traveled with our 2 dogs and this hotel has it figured it out! The most dog friendly hotel I have ever stayed at; they provided dogs bed and 3 bowls for food and water! We had a minor misunderstanding in the beginning and as an apology they sent us drinks and snacks to the room, which was over and above. Wendy and Anabelle at the reception desk are the nicest! I have no words, truly the best hotel experience thanks to them!

Exceptional 4 star boutique hotel. We ate at the bar & sushi place upstairs. Both were perfect. Rooms were nice & bathroom was huge. Easy & fast check in/check out. Park at Capella tower next door to save about $20 vs valet parking. Dogs stay free & they have special amenities for them too.

We stayed at the Kimpton Grand Hotel on Black Friday 2017 for a mini anniversary getaway. I liked customizing our requests when booking (direct). The staff was super friendly. The hosted wine hour was fun, and our room was nice with a huge bathroom. We liked that it is an okd hotel that has been refurbished...it added ro the charm. But the biggest reason for five stars is how the staff handled a problem with our room. Very quick and enough to not ruin our short stay. Hint for parking...we paid for valet service ahead of time (at a discount) to avoid the hassle of self parking downtown. When you first arrive, pull up in front of the hotel, NOT on the side as another reviewer commented.

We stayed here overnight for a wedding as with was within close proximity. We had a spacious corner suite that worked out perfect. The HVAC system was a little louder than I would prefer, other than that I would spend another night here.

Amazingly friendly and accommodating staff. Nothing was too much trouble. The room was wet clean, and nice, and the bed was firm but extremely comfortable. The option to skip housekeeping visits and gain a small credit to use against the mini bar or in room dining is cut and useful for a case of the midnight munchies

No words! The absolute best service and most genuinely kind reception I've ever received in a hotel. Annabelle and Wendy literally made my day, week and month. They not only were so welcoming the second I arrived, but they even went as far as to make me a hand written card and bring me treats to my room. I will forever recommend this hotel to anyone in Minneapolis after my experience thanks to them 😊! So grateful for this great experience! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This hotel has the most friendly and helpful staff I have EVER encountered! Annabelle and Andy were terrific. I was traveling for work with a coworker this week and we both fell in love with your town and your employees (specifically those two). At the end of my stay, I got a card thanking me for my military service and it expressed their genuine appreciation for our patronage.

I'm an IHG member and wasn't sure I wanted to stay here at first but this experience makes me want to visit the Kimpton in my local area too. Well done!

This hotel has the most friendly and helpful staff I have encountered in the last 10 years of traveling. The rooms are very classy and comfortable (plus the air conditioning is amazing). I was locked out from my belongings downtown and could not get to any of my stuff (car, bag, keys etc). The hotel staff set me up with one of their nicest rooms at a discount to help me out and provided me with a toiletry bag. I already liked the space as a frequent visitor to the Lifetime Fitness, and the hotel bar, but I will be back as a guest now, for years to come. Thank you Grand Hotel of Minneapolis!

We received a complimentary glass of wine when we arrived and we were greeted warmly by the front desk staff who were eager to assist us, even though we'd booked through a discount website. The hotel charges for wifi and we parked in a different garage since the hotel only offered valet parking at $40 a day. This is the nicest hotel we have ever stayed in. We'd love to stay there again the next time we visit Minneapolis.

When a nearby hotel botched our reservation, we got a very decent price for a great room at this hotel. When we checked in close to midnight, the concierge was excellent and made sure we had everything we needed. Heavy curtains (so we could sleep in), spacious rooms, and an historic feel made it a great place to stay

My husband and I stayed here for a romantic getaway (from our 4 young children) and to celebrate my birthday. We had an amazing time! Every detail was looked after from the hotel staff. They welcomed us with an unexpected room upgrade, which spoiled us with an amazing view of downtown Minneapolis. The hosted wine hour was very inviting and such a nice treat to start our wonderful evening together! We would definitely recommend this hotel, and will return again for our next getaway!!!

My wife and I stayed here for a night away, with 4 young kids we need that every once in a while. We've stayed at the Grand several times and have always been happy but this was the nicest visit yet. The front desk staff were very friendly and more than accommodated our room request. Also, when we mentioned our dining location they helped us get a free appetizer. The Grand is located in the heart of downtown Minneapolis, within walking distance of many great restaurants. We're Kimpton Karma Rewards members and it was my wife's birthday month so we booked with the birthday package and got a great rate on the room. There was also a complimentary bottle of wine, on ice, waiting in the room when we arrived. Another perk of being a Kimpton Karma member is a $10 credit towards the mini bar or lobby bar with every visit, we used it at the lobby bar this time and enjoyed a couple well made drinks from the very friendly bartender. Every staff member we encountered was attentive and seemed to genuinely care about making sure we had a great experience. The Grand will always be our go to hotel for a getaway.

From my first interaction checking in with Kim at the front desk to exploring my posh room, I loved my stay at the Grand Hotel. Dining options both in-room and out were a bit pricier than I was willing to take advantage of this trip, but I would definitely return. Very comfortable bed, clean modern bath and lots of space. My room had a living room in which to sprawl and watch TV, a desk for working and the mini- bar. There was also a TV in the bedroom, should you need it.

Generally a really great hotel in downtown Minneapolis. The guest rooms are the best part of the hotel. The beds are comfortable, the rooms are spacious, and the bathrooms are really nice. The staff here is also very friendly. The lobby feels a little cold but I think it's just because it's such a large and hard space and the lighting sucks. The on-site bar/lounge and steak/sushi restaurant are both pretty nice.

A great place to stay if you're downtown for an event or even for a weekend away. It's a historic hotel that has been renovated into a luxury hotel that it surprisingly affordable. The staff are always friendly and willing to help make your stay as amazing as possible and will do nearly anything to make it so. Within walking distance to many great restaurants and attractions in downtown Minneapolis. Can't wait to stay there again!

Spectacular (as pretty much always from Kimpton). The front desk staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The suite was massive and included a bathtub with TV, a stand-alone shower, and massive mirror and vanity. The king bed fit into the room a little strangely, but it's an old building, so they've done a lot to work with what they had. Higher floors offer great views of the surrounding city, which looked fantastic in the foggy evenings during the time we stayed. Thank you, Kimpton.

I was in a completely beat after being stranded in Minneapolis after weather caused me to miss my flight. I couldn't get to the hotel until about 1am. I had no luggage or any type of overnight amenities. The Kimpton was a wonderful place to unwind after such a day and they provided me everything I had to have to make it overnight. Thank you Kimpton for a job well done.

The hotel is very nice and located in a desirable location. The rooms are of adequate size and elegance. Connected to this hotel is a very nice gym that guests can utilize for no additional charge. The gym is extravagant and includes a full size basketball court. The price is exceptionally good and this is one of the best hotels in the city.

The holiday party was beautifully, the food was wonderful. The suite was gorgeous.

The cons were the pillows were to soft, hard to sleep with those.
Also for an unknown reason, when returning to our room, it was cold noticed the thermostat was set to off. Which was weird because it was on while we got ready before the event, in the room.

Prime location in downtown Minneapolis, stayed in a suite. When we first arrived to our room there was a room service tray from the previous guest that hadn't been removed yet.

The room was overall clean but you could tell that there was a party of some sort as some decorations were still taped to the ceiling. Stayed on the 9th floor and had a view of the the neighboring buildings but that is to expected in downtown.

Staff was very polite and courteous, but the door man and valet workers smelled heavily of marijuana.

Stayed here over the 4th of July, and had a great experience! We had a decent view despite being downtown. The hotel property, and rooms are amazing. Room service was quick and friendly, even for a mid-night snack. Our dogs were with us, and they were also treated very well by the hotel with their own beds, bowls, and snacks! Thanks for a great time.

This hotel is very nice! It is well maintained and the staff were very helpful and attentive. I have to admit, the valet parking price had me worried at first, but having someone else do the parking in downtown Minneapolis was incredibly helpful. In the end, it was worth every penny for the ease of parking the car. Plus the in and out privileges were nice as well. The location of the hotel was great and the room was wonderfully decorated. The bar in the lobby was also nice. In all, a great place to stay!

The Hotel itself is great. The rooms have a great feel of home. But the staff really sets it apart from the rest. The concierge is top notch and is very accommodating and friendly. We had a mixup in booking (most likely our fault), Kevin and they made it right within 10 minutes. I would recommend to anyone.

I enjoyed the experience overall, they treat you very well and in a professional manner. My room was clean, everything was comfortable and had a fine stay. The valet service was absolutely amazing. I was most impressed with them due to the fact that my car had died while it was parked in the lot (-15 degrees all three nights) and the valet had wonderful service. The man's name was Justin, he did everything he possibly could to help me out and giving as much time as he could to help me start my car. We couldn't get it started in the morning however so he asked one of the drivers to escort me to where I was going. I couldn't have been more thankful that day for a ride due to it being so frigid and I was already freezing from trying to start the car. Later in the day I had come back with jumper cables and Justin was there again, giving his time and going the extra mile. We got it started and everything turned out wonderful. I couldn't have asked for a better service, thanks again!
