The Kimpton Schofield Hotel

2000 East Ninth Street, Cleveland, OH 44115, United States Access

The Kimpton Schofield Hotel

Kimpton Schofield Building is a much-loved landmark in downtown Cleveland where pride infectious warmth and passion abound. Cleveland is in the midst of a Past meets present at Kimpton Schofield Hotel; where a circa-1902 building houses a space that is reflective of the citys newest chapter. Think boutique; artisan elements like ottomans crafted from recycled saris paired with thoughtful touches that celebrate Clevelands heritage such as the lobbys collection of American Splendor comics. Given the location within walking distance of world-class theater sports stadiums and more there is no better place to base yourself.

Kimpton Schofield building is in the heart of Clevelands business district on 9th and Euclid within easy access to popular landmarks and attractions like Quicken Loans Arena and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Its in a prime location to experience everything Cleveland has to offer.

One of my favorite Kimpton locations so far. Gorgeous walk-through showers in their accessible rooms and sizable bathroom vanities for washing dishes, toiletries, etc. Cozy & comfortable beds and good lighting, with cute wall sconces. I would add a bit more desk space to match what they have at some of their other locations. Coffee service is great in the morning, and the lobby has a very comfortable work table and seating area for meeting with visitors. Room service is prompt and has a good selection of items. Note that there's no self-parking - just pull up in front and leave your car with the valet.

Friendly and very helpful staff. Quick and easy check in/out. Convenient downtown location. Bedding kind of soft for my taste, but room and all in good condition and clean with lots of space. Self parking not attached, but very close.

The hotel is in downtown and within walking distance to many fast food places. The room was amazing as was the shower. It was neat that the bottom 4 floors are hotel and the upper floors are apartments. The service was good for how busy they seemed to be. Forgotten items were requested from the desk and arrived to the room very quickly. I would definitely stay here again.

My wife and I recently celebrated an anniversary with the Schofield team and we can't say enough great things about the staff and the hotel. We've stayed at a lot of hotels, and a number of Kimptons but this one is at the top of our list. It's close to a lot of Cleveland hot spots, the rooms are gorgeous and extremely comfortable, the staff was absolutely incredible. If you're visiting Cleveland, STAY HERE! You won't be disappointed.

After we checked in we went up to our room and did an inspection of the bed and room. We can across a few unpleasant surprises. We phoned the front desk and they were quick to get us moved in a new room. The front desk staff were very understanding And hospitable. The bed was a bit more soft than we like it. Our stay was overall pleasant.

It was a clean hotel, I had a good first impression. The staff was attentive and polite. The guys out front actually set the bar high as parking was a nightmare. We we're at an event at the lobby bar. We want to the Indians game after and the location was great. It was a quick walk to progressive feild.

Great location in downtown Cleveland. 2 min Walk to progressive field! Spotlessly clean rooms. Quiet even though you're on a main downtown street. Super friendly staff! Pet friendly too!

Outstanding service; the rooms were clean and the staff was friendly and accommodating. It’s a little classier than I’m used to, there was no ice machine / vending machine on the individual floors, you had to call room service. There isn’t a complimentary breakfast, but the attached dining room/bar has a good selection of dishes at a reasonable price. I fully enjoyed my stay!

There is nothing I dislike about this hotel. Maybe the rates could be a little lower, but so could the stinking tax rate. Amazingly comfortable bedding, and crisp, clean, bed-clothes. The room decor is somewhat contemporary without the starkness; fun, but not campy. The hotel staff is curtious, knowledgeable, gracious, accommodating and fun. All this without the stuffiness or airs.

3.5 stars if I could. It was ok. Went for a weekend get-away for fun. A good location to walk to where we were going. Biggest complaint was the loud traffic going by 24/7. Can't tell you how many times I woke up. There was a restaurant off the lobby that looked nice but we didn't try it. Free coffee in the lobby in the morning but no coffee maker in the room. Lots of restaurants and venues within walking distance.

The hotels staff is very friendly, and I liked the amenities that were included. The beds are comfier than most hotels Ive stayed at. The location is a prime spot to walk to any of the major sport stadiums and to East 4th st. Some of the cons are the standard rooms are not as spacious as I have thought for the price. The shower looks nice, but not having a door is awkward. The outlets did not work properly. My girlfriend had to shove the hair dryer prongs into the outlet. The front desk associate said she'd send up some wine/snacks to our room for our celebration, but she never did. She even knew when we'd be out for dinner. Lastly, there was a note from a previous guest. It welcomed the guest to the hotel and to enjoy her stay. I didn't take it personal, but it seemed unprofessional to have a note for a previous guest in a room I was staying in.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Schofield! From the moment we arrived, we we're very well taken care of. The valets were so friendly and the front desk staff made us feel quite welcome. Our corner suite was spacious and comfortable. We enjoyed the many windows with views of the city.
As other reviewers have states, the street can be noisy. The hotel provides ear plugs which is a nice touch. We brought a soundmaker and ran the fan on the AC all night and the noise didn't bother us or our two children at all.
We highly recommend this hotel, and will be checking out other kimpton for future trips.

Clean, quirky, classy. Rooms are a little small if you're going to be spending a lot of time in them, but bathrooms are huge and it was perfect for us for a one night stay for a concert in town. Definitely going to be our hotel of choice in Cleveland now.

My wife and I spent the weekend here to celebrate our 14th anniversary. The staff was amazing, upon checking in we were asked what brought us here, we told him and he upgraded us at no charge and offered us a bottle of wine complimentary. The rooms are beautiful and an extremely comfortable bed. The shower is large and nice. My only complaint is that we only had one washcloth which it was so hard(sacasim) to call and get a few more brought up. We are already planning our next weekend in a few months and looking forward to being here again.

Beautiful place, very attentive they overheard us speaking about our daughters birthday and when we came back downstairs they had a gift for her. The complementary wine was great and you can have as much as you want and sit by the fire. The resturant is very good to if you do brunch get the chicken and waffles it is excellent.

Nice, fancy, in the heart of downtown. The staff is good. Higher up, the views are pretty great. But there was something in the air in the rooms which made it hard for me to breathe if I stayed there for more than a few hours and it took me days to recover; the rooms also had an odd (not unpleasant, just different) smell to them. But they were spacious and had great amenities and high-class decoration.

Absolutely beautiful hotel, great city veiws. Staff was so kind and made it a very special night for birthday celebration! They were always available if we needed anything. The hotel is a very on trend modern style, and the restaurant/bar in it has a great menu and outstanding cocktail menu. Fully stocked snack bar and minibar.

Lovely, stylish boutique hotel in ideal downtown location. Spacious, clean rooms with 5* bedding (firm mattress, soft sheets, down comforter, ample pillows) and robes. Every very staff member was professional, friendly and helpful. Housekeeper left daily handwritten notes which I appreciated knowing who was in my room. Great lobby to relax in (cozy, spacious living room style) and excellent bar/restaurant alongside (excellent food, moderately priced). I loved my stay and highly recommend.

Fantastic experience. Beautiful hotel. Stayed for my anniversary. The staff even sent a bottle of wine up to the room for us to celebrate. So kind! Only complaint is that there were 3 people knocking on our door at 11a to see if we were leaving soon. Even with checkout at noon. Very annoying.

Great hotel in the center of downtown. Clean rooms and consistent service. Had an issue where I inadvertently booked a reservation for the wrong date. They not only accommodated me but gave me an upgrade and sent a glass of wine to my room after a bad flight and for being a loyal patron.....thw night before the Cavs opener. Stay here often for work and highly recommend

The hotel was very clean, the staff super friendly and helpful, we asked for extra towels and had them within minutes of the request. The bed was super comfortable, the spa shower was relaxing and nice however needed a little extra pressure. Overall the stay was great.

The renovation created a chic atmosphere with respect for the innate beauty of the structure. Quiet rooms with a ship shape design that gets the most out of the space. Nice bank of windows onto the street. Beautiful.

Beautiful hotel in downtown. Cloes to everything. My only complaint was the design of the shower allowed for water to get all over the floor of the bathroom. There was only a half wall in the shower and no shower curtain. Also the outrageous cost of the snacks and water in the mini bar. I have been to hotels with mini bars in the past, but 7.00 for a bag of M & M seemed a bit steep when there is a grocery store across the street

From beginning to end, the experience here was stellar! Granted, we arrived at 5:30pm and our room still wasn't ready, but one became available within 10min. And it was worth the wait! I know I didn't get a 'city view' but ended up with one! The room was clean, modern with a vintage twist and breath taking views of the city! Would absolutely recommend and hope to make another trip to the city!

My family enjoyed our stay at the Kimpton. The hotel was amazing from the cleanliness and coziness of the rooms to the beautiful decor of the hotel. The Staff was friendly and helpful, especially Rian. He made our vacation more enjoyable, giving us great insight about the city and recommendations of places to eat and visit. We will be back and definitely recommend this hotel.

The hotel itself was amazing. The room was great, the service was great, and everything about it was comfortable and wonderful. The only complaint I could possibly have about the hotel was the price of things in the room. 7 dollar red bull, 6 dollar snickers bar, 12 dollar 3 oz bag of beef jerky. I found that to leave a bad taste in my mouth after spending so much for the room itself.

Great experience from the moment I pulled up to the valet, the gentleman greeted us with smiles and professionalism, unloaded our bags from the car onto the cart, a lady took our vehicle to the parking lot while the gentleman walked us inside to the front desk, waited patiently for us to check in. The lady at the front desk was kind and courteous. The gentleman walked us to our room and gave us information on everything there is to know about the hotel and cleveland, showed us were everything was in the room as well as placing our things on the stand and hung up my jackets and jersey... I will use this hotel again without hesitation.

We will stay here anytime we are in Cleveland...and the free happy hour is a nice touch!!

I really loved this hotel. The front desk was fantastic. They upgraded my room and sent treats up to the room for my husbands birthday. Gorgeous hotel in the heart of downtown Cleveland. Super close to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Quicken Loans Arena. The restaurant next to it is also amazing - and you can order delicious room service from there too! I highly recommend the thai chicken and waffles. Rooms are really nicely decorated - very hip vibe - and there's even a yoga mat in the room.

Every Kimpton is interesting and the Schofield is no exception. A quirky old building transformed into a hip hotel with spacious rooms. The restaurant/bar (The Parker - ask for Spencer at the bar) is great, with a warm interior feel. Abby at the front desk and Ryan as our concierge were great helps and a pleasure to speak with during our visit. The shower was a delight! The location was superb, with easy walks to great restaurants (Try Lola), bars, shops, and of course the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the sports arenas. First visit to Cleveland and this Kimpton and it won't be our last.

I come to Cleveland quite often because my doctors are at the Cleveland clinic. Through all the surgeries, doctors appointments, and any accommodations I may need (wheelchairs etc...) they have been more than accomidating! They are professional, knowledgeable, and the staff works as a great team. They even leave us personal notes when they know we are coming and treat us like family. One particular staff member, Abby has been amazing. So helpful and kind, always treating us like family. Abby and the other staff have made even the most painful days after my procedures comfortable and relaxing by making sure I was provided with everything I could possibly need. We love the Kimpton Schofield, it makes up never want to leave!

The bed was great. Everything else was awkward. The hallway layout/room numbering was poorly designed. The key card reader on the door didn't operate very well. The view from the room was terrible. The bathroom had a sliding door. The shower only had half of a door. The shampoo and conditioner were in pump bottles that were not single use. This could be a problem if someone were to tamper with the bottles. The shower had no place to put the bar of soap. The towels were OK. The coffee in the morning was OK. I might stay there again if they fixed some of these issues.

Everything about our stay here was wonderful. Our room suite was gorgeous, especially the bedroom and bathroom (the walk-in shower and clawfoot tub, wonderful touches). Even the art on the wall, a departure from standard boring hotel art, was well chosen and charming. The building restoration was beautiful and the views of downtown, with Heinans right across the street, stunning. We were close and within walking distance to everything and felt completely safe venturing out well, well into the night. Parker's, the adjoining restaurant was very accommodating, delicious, with truly creative and well crafted cocktails. There is a wine hour with appetizer, coffee in the morning, hot chocolate bar midday. Everything, right down to the hand soap, was great. Most importantly, every single staff member seemed truly invested in us enjoying our stay. They were all friendly, attentive, and engaging. I can't say enough positive things about this place. We're already planning our next visit and staying anywhere else isn't even a remote consideration. Just top notch all the way around. We were thrilled, and had a perfectly romantic and relaxing winter night away from home. Thank you, Schofield, truly.

This was our second time at the hotel. This time, my wife and I, stayed in of the corner suites. Wow! Beautiful view of downtown and the luxury of a full service grocery store, Heinen's, across the street makes getting snacks and treats a piece of cake. Also, Parker's, the hotel restaurant, is now open...pretty cool menu. Finally, kudos to Kimpton for restoring this beautiful building.

Abdul made our experience unforgettable. We really enjoyed our stay, but he went above & beyond to make sure there was no need left unfulfilled. I usually dont take the time to write a review, but Abdul made it his personal mission to give us the best stay in downtown Cleveland, so I felt the need to share that with others & recommend that you request him when calling the hotel in advance. The hotel itself was fantastic - the bathrooms, the views, PRIME location walking distance to everything & 5-star service you would expect from premiere hotels. Only complaint was the parking - only option was 38/night valet.
