We stayed in New York over the weekend to enjoy some shows and see the sites. This is our second time to New York and our first time at the Viceroy. The rooms are on the small side but that matches up pretty well with most New York hotels and especially for the price we paid. Housekeeping was exceptionally nice! The room was always very clean and stocked. The other staff was always very friendly. This hotel really is an exceptional bang for your buck joint and it’s within walking distance of some really incredible restaurants and of course Central Park.

The lobby isn’t very grand but it’s clean and modern. The room had an espresso machine which was very nice. I think my only real knock is the shower, it doesn’t have rolling glass over the tub instead it’s just one sheet of glass that covers half the tub. Which is fine because the shower head goes straight down but it also let’s the cold air hit your bottom lol...

Overall I was very pleased with the Viceroy. The price to value makes a trip to New York exceptionally affordable.

The hotel room has a nice layout and makes it feel bigger than the average New York room. The bed is comfortable and the shower feels great. The room has a Beats by Dre stereo, beautiful city view, and they provide robes and slippers. There is a hidden ironing board, mini fridge and safe, all out of view. This really maximized the space in the room. The room was clean and the staff was friendly. When you are here be sure to go up to the rooftop lounge, the views are great and atmosphere is comfortable even by yourself. I stayed on a Thursday night and there was only one bartender so be prepared for a little wait but other than that, no complaints.

What a lovely place to be. I'm so happy that I chose this hotel because it's unique, beautiful, and colorful. Not only is the place appealing, but the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The only con is that it is a little far from city center (~20-30 min walk), but there are still plenty of shops/restaurants nearby, but good for someone who doesn't like the noisy city. Also there's no toiletries, but you can call and ask for things such as toothpaste/toothbrush!

We stayed at the king size room and it is spacious along with the bathroom. Our bathroom had 2 vanities, so it's ideal for two guests. There's a couch, desk, and multiple chargers/usb ports near the bedside for convenience. And of course it has a mini bar, fridge, and quite a large T.V.

Really good location and nice rooms. Carpet could've been cleaner but it wasn't awful just kind of sticky in spots. Bed was so comfortable

Brilliant position in midtown Manhattan. Easy walk to all the shops on 5th Av, Central Park, Rockefeller centre, Broad Way and Times Square. Plenty of good eateries close by. Angela's Sandwich Bar is great for breakfast. Staff friendly and helpful. Rooms clean, stylish and spacious (Junior Suite). You'll pay a bit more for a room with a view of Central Park. Rooftop bar worth a visit for stunning views out over Park from 30 stories up. Opens at 3 and you need to be there prompt if you want a table outside. Bar pricey however. Can't fault this place and would stay here again

I recently stayed here for a quick weekend trip. It's a great location, close to Carnegie Hall and Central Park. The staff was very accommodating. We got there early and they allow you to store your bag until check in time. The rooftop bar was a really nice touch as well. I'd stay there again.

The location is amazing; walking distance to Columbus Circle and Central Park. The rooms are cozy and perfectly appointed. The staff is very polite and happy to help. Room service was prompt and yummy. We especially enjoyed the view from the rooftop bar.

For the standard of Viceroy, I would expect much better. The hotel itself, although renovated, felt very old. Within 20 minutes of getting into my room I received a "noise complaint" from the occupants of the adjoining room even though I was having a conversation with my family at a normal tone. The whole situation was handled very rudely by sending a security person rather than simply calling me to inform me of the complaint.

I was able to switch rooms to one that did not have an adjoining room, but even this room itself was not great and felt run down. The sink area which was outside the bathroom was on a slant so my toiletries kept sliding off. The bed was nearly to the ground and the mattress was not long. Besides that, at any given time, you could expect to wait five minutes for an elevator from either your room level or the lobby (probably because there are only two elevators for the entire hotel). My overpriced breakfast at the adjoining hotel restaurant was also problematic as my poached eggs were undercooked.

Overall my stay here was very disappointing. This is hardly a five star hotel and I doubt that it would even qualify as a four star one.

Great value play upscale hotel. Sick view if you grab a corner room. Service was top notch. Great boutique to get away from the 500 room cookie cutter hotels.

Room amenities and the gym were much better than average. Even for a medium sized hotel..

Rooms are well thought out. The feel is a kind of retro-deco-midcentury vibe. The hotel looks like it's from the late fifties or so, but I was told it's only 4 years old.

One of its finer points is its location. 7-10 blocks north of Rockefeller Center and Times Square respectively, it's also close to the Madison Avenue fashion district, and only a couple of block south of the southern end of Central Park. Carnegie Hall is just a block away.

Was given a free night due to an overnight booking at the Park Hyatt. Got the smallest room on the floor. Check in was quick, requested a shaving kit which was delivered quickly, wish the water pressure was a little harder. Overall pretty good

The drinks were good, possibly overpriced. But the view was amazing. It would be great if the outdoor bar area could be larger... When we got there all the tables were reserved so it seems like it fills up quickly.

I mean.... They had a umbrella waiting for me in the room, so convenient. But really, service is amazing here. Everybody is so kind, they hold the door and the elevator for you when you enter the lobby. You get a nice sound system in every room, you're in the middle of a very happening part of town. Also the bathrooms are gorgeous, it just has a very high end feel.

PS: No ice machines, kinda sucks

Hugely attractive bar named The Roof on top of the viceroy is themed like the inside of a yacht with paneled wood all around. Comfy seating both inside and out and a nice view over central park. On the expensive side but matched with great staff

Had a nice visit, but wish there were an iron no in board in the room. Also, the rooftop bar was s bit overpriced in my opinion. The location was great with many great restaurants and attractions within walking distance.

The rooms are small but very stylish and City living feel. The term "Steampunk" describes the ambiance here. Like Jules Verne himself designed the rooms. Couple that with a bar on the roof with a fantastic view and you have one great stay to enjoy.

Fantastic hotel a short walk to Central Park, Fifth Avenue Shopping, and loads of great places to eat within walking distance. I have stayed here a number of times and have seen the housekeeping standards slip slightly - basement restaurant /hotel washrooms were in quite a state the last time we visited.
All front of house staff - front desk, bellhops, concierge, were incredibly friendly and helpful. I will continue to make this my place for the incredible Park Views!!!

The food was amazing at Kingside. Service was only OK. The waitress was nice but the bartender would barely give me the time of day. The bar was a bit loud and the lights a little too bright for me, but that just might be that I'm not as much into partying as I used to be.

Really nice hotel and well connected with a subway station nearby. It's really close to Central park and Carnegie Hall, and Times square is just a few minutes away by foot. The room was spacious enough and the furniture was in good condition. The housekeeping was satisfying. It also has a gym in the basement if needed. Our stay was only for a few days, but I would certainly consider coming back on future trips to the city.

Very nice hotel, fantastic location. Rooms not large but service was good. We had a delay with our bags being sent up and as soon as I phoned to ask after them they apologised and sent a bottle of champagne up to the room. Gym is a little small and outdated, get a squat rack! Otherwise very happy with our stay.

The location is great. The room we were in was small, but well designed, and very clean. The shower could have used more pressure, but I'm expecting that to be a problem at most hotels in NYC. The personnel was really friendly and helpful.

This hotel is an absolute must if you want to stay somewhere up around the Central Park. Currently on our fourth stay here and it is as good as ever. The lobby is fresh, with a nice signature smell. Bellmen, doormen, concierge and front desk are just a notch friendlier than most other NYC hotels we've stayed at which says a lot.
When it comes to rooms, make sure to grab a Park View one. The standard rooms are all great, but the view over the park is absolutely fantastic and will almost want you to stay in all day... Bathrooms are fresh with three different kinds of marble. Amenities from Neil George have a nice unisex scent. Room service is not only meticulous but also very friendly, greeting you whenever you meet.
This has become our go-to hotel in NYC!

There is a long view of Central Park from the bar at the top of this fancy smancy hotel. Cocktails are quite pricy, but you can get a beer for not too bad of a price, and the view is vast, and imaginative. Best to get there before the post 5pm work crowd if you can. Also best to go when the weather is fine and you can enjoy the balcony. I always take people who are visiting NYC here, and they always dig it.

The view from our room (1606) wasn't great but we weren't here to stare out of a window, we were here to explore the city and this hotel is in the perfect location to do just that. Subway stations at either end of the street and you're within walking distance of Central Park, Times Square, The Rockefeller Centre and St Patricks Cathedral. The staff couldn't be more helpful and the view from the rooftop bar was amazing. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the city for the first time and I would happily stay here again.

Beautiful architecture and spaces. Nice rooms. Wifi was slow at times but acceptable. The biggest disappointment was "The Roof" which is the big selling point when booking. If you believe that this will be a really added bonus for your stay - think again. First night after checking in - Were sorry this has been booked far a private event.... everything but a sliver of the top that was 6 people deep. OK - next night- same packed house and every table had a "reserved sign on it - there was not one space to even look out over the balcony. We inquired if it was a "private party event and was told no - the tables can be "reserved by paying the "reservation fee" which anyone sitting there will be asked to leave yet every table had been paid for. It seemed large groups of local Manhattan hipsters got together and reserved all the balcony tables which left the paying guests out in the cold. Totally a scam on the part of the hotel as far as their advertising "Rooftop lounge and Bar" which is totally inaccessible which left a really bad taste in my mouth. On top of that the staff there called " security" was as rude as they come - when complaining to the guest relations I was told - well they don't really work for the hotel but here is 4 drink cards ( the number in our paying guest party ) - which we couldn't use because the bar was packed and "reserved" every night of our stay. If you want to lodge there have at it but if you picture a beautiful Manhattan sunset on a rooftop bar with your significant other ..... not going to happen here except possibly in January with a heavy jacket on. If it were totally fair - guests of the hotel would get a reserved table before the general public ..... nah they make far more money by forcing their guests to go down the street. I would say total false advertising.

My husband and I stayed here 3 nights while attending U2 at MSG and loved this gem of a hotel! Location is excellent, roof top bar with excellent view at sunset. Kingside (connecting restaurant) serves fresh, healthy (and hearty) breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Nearby upscale grocery (Morton Williams) with huge food bar and salad bar and serves of fresh, prepackaged foods to go when on the go; Oak and Steel Wine store just a block and half down street. Close to Central Park, Columbus Circle, and great shopping. One block from subway. We have found our "go to" hotel in NYC. Safe and fashionable! Loved the (smaller, but with excellent amenities) room, PLENTY of electrical outlets, convenient minibar/fridge. Very helpful concierge. Rue 57 restaurant around the corner is fun and casual, serves delicious food and great cocktails!! Highly recommended.
