I love this place...I visit this place again & again...well maintain hotel...all food & service very good..

This was our third visit to the hotel and decided to Book a two night stay with breakfast for myself and my partner and it was fantastic!! we arrived late due to work but the staff at the reception was more than welcoming, our room was excellent with a great view of the castle and river, it was very clean and decor was fitting for the style of hotel and surroundings. Room service was again excellent with polite and smart staff, breakfast loads of choice and cooked well, Staff always friendly and polite and more than happy to go out there way to help you especially as my partner is vegan so food can be tricky in some places. I would definitely be returning again and would recommend this place if you never visited ITC Kolkata 😊

I love the old part of this hotel already and it is a good hotel already and now a new extension of this hotel is under construction. And that already looks so great to me. It’s going to be one of the best hotels in Kolkata. I am waiting for the opening of the new part.

The rooms are very simple, elegant and comfortable. The decoration all around the hotel is very classy and the eating areas are well-decorated. The conference room is also very professional and it makes a good point for having corporate meetings.

Wonderful place. I went there to meet A Grandmaster. Decor and the people at the desk are fantastic. The room which I've been is also well maintained. Before this I had only gone to ITC Mughal in Agra, so I had high expectations. I must say I was not disappointed and the person who stayed there had a good stay too.

Went there for a family vacation after 14 years. Found the hotel in top condition. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly, specially the "Check in Divas" as they call them. Food was very good, room was also very comfy. Only thing is it is a bit far from College street and city centre, but that's alright I guess !

The luxury giant stretching by EM Bypass, is still a symbol of its magnitude, elegance and beauty amidst the new uprisings. Though visited after a long time and for a corporate meeting for half n hour, still the hospitality and the sweetness remained the same. The beautiful smile of the hosts or the make u feel special effect- it's a genius.

We had dinner at Peshawar which is mostly eastern though there were actually dishes which did not resemble eastern. I had a sorry of cutlet while my friend had grilled fish. The bruschetta we had was quite appetizing as were the prawns. There is a smoking lounge nearby which was good news for my friend who smokes. Decor is nice.

The place is very awesome. The service is good. I had dinner in Peshwari , the food was not very good. The suite is not very big.The ambiance is very good. The staff is courteous. The complimentary breakfast is very tasty.

If I’m honest, Kolkata is not a city known for sublime hospitality by global standards. ITC is probably the only hotel that can be compared to global five star hotels in terms of service. Extremely helpful and willing staff, tastefully furnished rooms. None of that new money/poor taste blingy/gimmicky decor. Also houses few of the best restaurants in the city. Peshawari is considered one of the best restaurants in Kolkata.

Great ambience right from Entrance to Front desk . Overall open space designed so elegantly which creates signature mark like ITC. Reception to Restaurants and overall staffs are truly very hospitable. Vastness of the property allow you to sucked in to be lost. Food quality is great specially the North Indian Cuisine with variety n palatability.

Pan Asian is one of the restaurants in ITC. It serves amazing Sushi. The waiters are extremely courteous and professional. The decor and ambience is nice. The music is perfect with the sound being neither too loud nor too low. A must visit in ITC.

Starting from the food, to rooms, to main lobby, to the beautiful surrounding play area and feeding the fish area. This place has its own serene feel and luxurious ambient. Worth a visit.

It is one of the best places to stay in Kolkata. Surround by water bodies with beautiful lilies and gold fish in it. It makes it a very pleasant place to stay. This place has won many awards for its design. This hotel has many restaurants and the food in all the places is very good- don’t miss the punjabi restaurant here. The staff are courteous. The rooms are good however due to the new construction around the view may not be good, hopefully it will be wonderful once the construction is complete.

The service is fantastic. Ambience is par excellence. The coffee shop n restaurants serve excellent food. Most corporates patronise this. The group is having another super luxury hotel ITC Royal Bengal coming adjacent to it.

Ah!....... Delicious food with nice desert. Location is very much Near to heart of Kolkatta city. ROOM s very comfortable with very nicely design bathroom. Staffs are very cooperative & supporting. Lost of celebrities use stay here if some one had luck can get chance to have a photo with celebrities.

The ITC brand itself carries a certain standard, and this edition is no exception. We attended a banquet party at the Poolside Cafe, and the ambience was lovely. The food served was also delicious, with the ITC signature Dal Bukhara as the highlight, with many other delicacies. The food served depends on the package you choose, though.

Its an awesome place.
It has the best restaurants in the city.
Beautiful ambience, quality of rooms are of good, you can feel the warmth as if its your second home.

What a beautiful property. The best part is their lily pond in between. Has all of the wonderful things that ITC Luxury Collection Hotels come with. And they also have a gigantic new building coming up alongside but it's going to be christened ITC Royal Bengal.

Stay is comfortable but food quality not up to the mark for buffet lunch or dinner. Breakfast top notch. Visit around the lawns is a must for first timers. Staffs are cordial and process oriented

What are the parameters that you will use to rate a 5-star hotel. Since they are in the hospitality business the specialize in the comfort of their guests and ensure that the facilities that they provide are world class. I have never got a chance to stay here as I don't require (since I belong to Kolkata) but I have always wondered how it would be to stay here for a night.
ITC Sonar has all the merits of a 5-star hotel - a nice facade, big lobby, courteous staff and lounges and restaurants serving different cuisines for people with different tastes. However, since this building was built a while back it is not as modern as the JW Marriott which has an opulent lobby which catapults you in a different world altogether. ITC is trying to change that with the new building which they are constructing adjacent to the current building and it is going to be huge. From the looks of it, it is going to be a magnificent building and will become a landmark for Kolkata. Keep waiting for next updates

Fantastic experience. We went for a dinner at Peshawri. The restaurant had a beautiful ambience and the quality was great. The staff was quite courteous and the restaurant served a good essence of Indian tradition. Summing up it was a nice experience.

Awesomely beautiful place with very serene calm and unique architecture. The central water body surrounded by beautiful sit outs and fishes and lotuses take the breath away. Spa is well equipped with amazing ambience. As usual superb food in all restaurants. The only thing missing is a discotheque. Otherwise this hotel has some thing awesome for everyone!

Nice hotel..good surroundings and environment. People in the reception and restaurants are very friendly and helpful. A nice hotel to stay around in Kolkata. Easily accessible from the airport.

It isn't rated 7 stars just for the sake of it. This hotel is worth every bit of the reputation it has. The staff are curteous, well-mannered, cooperative. The restaurants here have amazing food, if you're ready to spend a bit. Neat clean tidy is what one will say as soon as they enter the lobby. Security is a top notch here as the who's who of the country choose this for their stay.

I visited for an IT event on Connected Bengal. The central ball room is very well maintained. The facilities, acoustic and lighting are top notch as is expected of ITC Sonar.

There is a well managed reception who do an efficient job of managing the guests. Always smiling!!

Complimentary breakfast is very good with lots of varieties. North Indian Food is amazing but obviously pricey. Room is okay, did not find worth 21K per night. The other category of room which was around 2K more is much better option.

Nice place for family and corporate meeting & get together. Plush interior and decor. For outsiders good place to stay. Valle Parking available. Discotheque is also there for young crowd. Different flavour Restaurant offer variety of food.

Peshawari restaurant is a Afghani Pakistan theme based place. The decor and ambiance is good. While you go through the menu the waiter will tell you stories about the different dishes . This is really exciting. Food is reasonably priced . It's a heaven for people who like non vegetarian food. The vegetarian food is also good. The dal is good. All the chapatis/ breads are really good. Please be relaxed and keep lots of time to enjoy the place it's stories . It's a must visit place.

Had dinner at Eden Pavillion. Great spread and lots of options from the multi cuisine menu, but the quality and taste of food is average to poor. Starters and soup were particularly bad. Prawns in the main course had dark black veins! Continental dishes tasted bland. Biriyani and mutton gravy was uninteresting. Fish was dry. Garlic bread was like buscuit! Some salads were bitter.
Not going to come back.

Pesawari restaurant is one of best. Whole hotel is full of green surrounding, nice aroma and a feel palace.

Such an alluring hotel amidst the serenity of flowers, small water bodies. ITC Sonar can count into my most favourite ones. The property is vast. But some amenities are missing such as an activity area, clubhouse, etc.
I would recommend the ITC group to establish squash court, kids activity area here.

ITC Sonar, is one hotel which has vast stretches of water bodies within its design. The landscaping is wonderfully planned and maintained. Inside the hotel it is an epitome of hospitality- wonderful cusines, professional staff and a wonderful ambience together both the inside and outside makes it a wonderful hotel to visit.

I'm working there as a trainee... The people there are very good... There is a great understanding between everyone... The best thing which I like is that we greet guest by doing NAMASTE.

An elite place for elite people. Though is the most advanced and technically sound place, it has the traditional flavour it it. It shows true Indian cultures across. The most remarkable thing I witnessed is that the workforce here also has specially able people.

The place is pretty spectacular. M giving it 4 starts just because of the service which is a bit slow. But you'll have pretty good experience here with the staying and Food.

Its a 7 star luxurious hotel. Totally cost worthy. One can get very high level of satisfaction here. The instays rooms, spa, cafeterias are mindblowing. Party bookings are also available.

A great property with all types of recreation facilities available. Also they serve a wide variety of foods at banquets. I have been to the banquet hall Pala for a office seminar and found the staffs to be extremely professional and cordial. There are a few issues regarding parking but soon it will be sorted out as per the management.

I am not happy with the staff here, they are very slow to help you out. Ambience of the hotel is nice and even the restaurants are amazing. Only the hospitality does not live up to a 5star rated hotel.

I have stayed at the ITC Sonar several times over the past year or so and I have always felt comfortable and relaxed there. You are made to feel welcome as soon as you arrive and mostly the staff are polite and friendly throughout the hotel.

The rooms are modern, comfortable, clean and a good size, with comfortable bedding and a good sized bathroom with good quality 'Aqua' toiletries. It's a peaceful place to stay especially if you have a room overlooking the lily pond as opposed to the new ITC hotel they are building next door.

I regularly use the business centre and it is one of the best I have come across anywhere with excellent facilities, Sradha and the staff there are so helpful.

Another plus point is the laundry, OK all hotels offer a daily service but at the Sonar you can put it in at anytime and have it back within 6 hours, or overnight at no extra charge. This is a boon if you are travelling light.

The only negative comment I would make is that the service in the Eden Pavillion restaurant can be a bit variable, some evenings even when it was quiet it took a long time to even get a menu or a drink but other times it was good, seems to be luck of the draw. The food was tasty and well presented if a little bit pricey by Kolkata standards. The breakfast buffet in the morning is a different matter, it offers a wide selection and the staff soon get to know your tea or coffee order in the morning which is a nice touch.

Ambience is good.. the anniversary cake offered was very very tasty. Thankyou. Food is not worth the price charged.. guys, always remember to avail corporate discounts. I didnt ask for it, my mistake.

A bit perplexed at some of the reviews as I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at ITC and will definitely be back again. Beautiful surroundings and the staff were very helpful and courteous. Food was fantastic and the rooms excellent. The hotel is situated in an ideal location for the centre of Kolkata and for the airport and is an oasis of calm in amongst all the mayhem and craziness of this wonderful city - I highly recommend this hotel!

Namaste. It's one of the best five star hotels in Kolkata. Beautiful architecture and very welcoming. Been there four times and really I had a great time here. Food is amazing and the rooms have breathtaking views.

Great hotel but noisy because of construction

The only thing stopping me from giving this five stars is the construction going on on a massive new building immediately next door.

Every morning the heavy noise begins at 10am and continues throughout the day. From around 8am onwards you'll hear the occasional bang or shout (which if you are a light sleeper like me, will wake you up). It really ruins the mood and kills your sleep if you are sleeping-in somewhat late.

I believe the situation is better in the rooms away from the construction but it is still audible.

I recommend staying at a nearby hotel (i.e. Marriott) until the construction is completed.

5 Star Hotel .Nice Continental, Japanese , Chinese Food. Indian Food not Good. Good Atmosphere. Cheeky Staff. Can't come to Level of Taj.

It's perfect. Amazing property and amazing location. Loved the food too. Especially their in-house specialty restaurant peshawari which is quite famous. They also have a secure ladies floor with a lady guard.

Close to airport. Offers first class services.. SPG platinum or Gold guests do not expect much of Greetings and offers that u get in other hotels...

Amazing experience as always. ITC always gives a homely feeling be it the ambience, service or food. Being royal in all senses it keeps its characteristics rooted to culture and ethnicity. This is why I have always opted for ITC hotels wherever I travel. Kudos!

A luxurious place.. Room rent of this hotel is very very high as this is a 5 star hotel.. It has a wonderful huge garden. Location of ITC Sonar is very preferable for foreign tourists.. Famous Italian Chef David Rocco came here for his show "Davis Rocco;s Dolche India".. Also the teams of IPL & ISL often stay here when they come to Kolkata..

ITC Sonar bangla situated beside the EM Bypass, which is a very important road to connect two sides of kolkata. That's why it has a very good place. It has also a very neat and clean service. They give special attention to the security of their customer. That's very good. They have all types of foods available there, including local speciality foods. So, I think you will have a great time there.

This is a well maintained property. The DumPukht restaurant is outstanding. There were a few niggling issues but the staff handled them well. The spa experience is decent and not outstanding. I would still go back.

I had been to the ITC hotel as part of IEEE conference on VLSI Design and Embedded Systems. This hotel has exelent breakfast bouffet options. and beautiful fish pond on which the hotel is built.

Hotel is good but there is no swimming pool and it's Lunch and diner is worst. I have 3 nights in Itc but all 3 days only 2 disses to serv us 1. Aaloo dum and 2. Panir masala..

Nice place for Indian food. Probably the best in the city. The new wing comes up some time in 2016 and will definitely be an exciting place to visit.

EDEN PAVILION, ITC SONAR has always been a favourite..but last night's visit was kind of a waste. And not a value for money at all. The mutton biriyani and the mutton curry were so awful. The mutton curry infact seemed to be rotten. Something hardly expected from a 5 star Hotel.
